00:00Who's your guys' early pick for Defensive Rookie of the Year?
00:03Vegas and the odds have Giants edge rusher Abdul-Carter as their favorite.
00:08So here's our betting analyst for the post, Eric Richter,
00:11with why Abdul-Carter for D-Roy just absolutely, completely makes sense.
00:16E. Richter, AC for D-Roy.
00:20Tell the people what they need to know about this bet
00:22because the third overall pick has looked absolutely phenomenal throughout training camp.
00:27Well, that was what I was going to ask you.
00:28I was like, I want to hear all the training camp insights that you got on Abdul-Carter.
00:32Before we go there, I just want to get out from the get here.
00:36No one is ready for what Abdul-Carter is going to do in the NFL this year.
00:39And, you know, a ton of prospect pedigree, savage athlete, right?
00:44So we already have all the physical tools.
00:46Now, the on-the-field production, sometimes we've seen this in the past with top pass rushers.
00:49Chase Young was a top-five pick by Washington several years ago,
00:54but never really panned out as that elite pass rusher.
00:56I don't see that here with Abdul-Carter.
00:58Abdul-Carter, 35.1% pass rush win rate on passing sets last season.
01:04That was the best in the country by far.
01:07And historically, that is also very good.
01:10Better than Miles Garrett in college.
01:12Better than Max Crosby in college.
01:14Better than Micah Parsons in college.
01:16Abdul-Carter is the best pass rush prospect that the Giants have had
01:21since Jason Pierre-Paul, maybe Michael Strahan, and maybe better than all of them.
01:26I think that when you include together that defensive line.
01:30Dexter Lawrence was the number 12 rated player on all defense.
01:35Number 12 rated player by Pro Football Focus before he got injured.
01:38So that's for number one.
01:39Brian Burns was a top-15 pass rusher as well.
01:42So you have those two guys.
01:44And Kayvon Thibodeau also graded out as an above-average pass rusher.
01:47That defensive line, for all the Giants' faults, and there are many,
01:51the Giants' defensive line should be one of, if not, the best in the NFL.
01:56And Abdul-Carter should be right in the middle of all of that.
01:59And when you look at the competition at defense,
02:03you're looking at Mike Hill-Williams, Travis Hunter is probably not going to play that much defense.
02:07It's kind of it.
02:07There's only 14 defensive players drafted in the first round, and most of them were in the 20s.
02:12There's not that many blue-chip defensive players here.
02:14Abdul-Carter isn't just a blue-chip.
02:17He is generational.
02:18I'm going to throw that number for you.
02:20Nine and a half.
02:21That's the Giants' rookie sack record by, obviously, Lawrence Taylor.
02:26Over or under a nine and a half sacks for Abdul-Carter?
02:32Nine and a half's a lot.
02:34But you're talking about the third overall pick.
02:38You're talking about a guy, like you said, is better than JPP,
02:42better than Michael Stray in his rookie year.
02:45We're talking about a guy who is not inside information if I tell you that this kid is going to be a dog.
02:51You saw the video of him throwing a center out of the way already.
02:55You saw the spin move.
02:56Nine and a half over under on sacks for Abdul-Carter.
03:00Go.
03:00When I look at how many sacks, how many sacks are the Giants going to get, right?
03:05Like you have Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence.
03:07There's going to be a lot of mouths to feed on the defensive line.
03:11I would actually, I would say over, but I think it's like 10.
03:13I think 10 is a fair number.
03:14Okay.
03:15There you go.
03:15Go over.
03:17I want to see him reenact that whole Lawrence Taylor.
03:20We're going to look like a bunch of crazed dogs.
03:22Like, bro, this kid is for real.
03:23And I think he'll have, I think he'll have 12 sacks this year.
03:26I think he'll have 12.
03:27Really?
03:27Easy.
03:28Yeah, man.
03:28Really?
03:28It's going to be that good.
03:29If reports are good through Cam, I mean, you've been there.
03:31Oh, absolutely, bro.
03:32Everything you see about him is as advertised.
03:34Kid's a dog.
03:35Kid's an absolute dog.
03:37Yep.
03:37Plus 275.
03:39Hammer it.
03:39Abdul-Carter, Defensive Rookie of the Year.
03:41He's winning.
03:41There you go.
03:42Minus 1,000 by week four.
03:44There you go right there.
03:45Appreciate you, Eric.
03:45Thank you, Eric.
03:45Thank you, Eric.
