00:00:00what will be a title decider finally james hayden joining us now out here at the front of the grid
00:00:05in the bsp class it's all in kyle's hands at the moment yeah very much i mean condition wise it's
00:00:11really awkward we've seen how slippy it is in that you've got to remember these things you know high
00:00:16power no traction control so it really is it's awkward out there in places so the guy's gonna
00:00:21have to use their heads and it's gonna make it a fascinating race because of that yeah it's
00:00:26it's in kyle's hands john but as we've just seen in that in that uh super sport race there
00:00:32you can't relax nobody can relax we can't relax watching it but never mind these guys out there
00:00:36no exactly and i was just telling these guys you know all the rain racing that i've ever done in my
00:00:40life it's those times that you actually think okay i can relax here i'm gonna take it easy
00:00:46that's when you lose the front that's when you lose the rear in these conditions you have to be sharp
00:00:51you have to give it everything you have so yeah i mean he's gonna have to go out ride's gonna go
00:00:56out he's gonna give it everything he has yeah he might not make some extreme risks but he is gonna
00:01:01ride hard keep his focus and uh you know he wants to go out on top these conditions down here i mean
00:01:07it is wet obviously but it stopped raining now again and we've seen throughout the day that that's when
00:01:12it can be the most unpredictable yeah i was going to say that earlier like you know when it's raining
00:01:16consistently the track feels a lot more consistent when it is how it is now it's greasy anyway and then
00:01:20once it dries a little bit more honestly it's horrendous and uh yeah as a rider you'd probably
00:01:25be the same i'd much rather a little downpour before the start of the race but it is what it is
00:01:30i think kyle's gonna rise to the occasion again talking about the experience thing he's done it
00:01:33before you know he knows what he's what he's got to do and uh yeah i just wouldn't want to be doing it
00:01:38in these conditions he's ridden he's risen to the occasion well last year as danny says but also this
00:01:43this weekend so far james he hasn't put a photo wrong well i think all season wrong i mean he
00:01:48hasn't crashed once in a race this year he's taken up the pressure he's taken the results when he's
00:01:52needed if he's needed a sixth or seventh he's grabbed it when he could go for the win he's
00:01:56grabbed it he's showed him he's really developed into such an all-round complete rider and uh and
00:02:01he's got that speed but these you know as we said you know flipping it to this this condition this
00:02:06awkward slippy patchy condition it just allows maybe some other guys we wouldn't normally consider
00:02:12to get in amongst it because the big thing is there's no one between them at the moment and
00:02:16this condition might allow it yeah okay let's uh get the thoughts from the riders on the grid then
00:02:20now as you kids as you can see it's all set up here in front of a big crowd at brands hatch for the last
00:02:26race in the last grid walk of the season for wit uh yeah and i i want to i want to speak to a neutral
00:02:32this is charlie nesbitt charlie you've had a really good weekend conditions have changed and as a neutral
00:02:38with nothing to do with the championship i want to get your feelings on conditions
00:02:42what what we're looking at because it stopped raining now yeah well it's still wet it's not
00:02:47going to change i don't think too much there's quite a bit of spray out the back right and there's
00:02:50quite a bit of standing water in here and there off the line so i don't think it's going to dry that
00:02:55quickly anyway um but yeah i think for everyone it's a bit of a leveler you know it's everyone's
00:03:02on the same conditions no one's had any wet practice especially around here this weekend is that
00:03:07difficult to tell which tire to use because you have an option of a harder wet the same construction
00:03:11and same kind of uh uh tread pattern but actually a softer rubber what are you going with uh i'm not
00:03:18too sure yet what we're going with but um yeah i think with the amount of water down and the temperature
00:03:24as it is it's probably looking like a soft well you see the season out you've had a great season
00:03:29lad you see out with a flourish good look perfect thank you very much uh right now the serious stuff uh again
00:03:36i don't like doing this to him uh i know but i've got to do it you know that i don't ask you something
00:03:42you've got to think about when your mind's on something else i feel him i'm all right it's uh
00:03:46checks a bit if it was another check um i think there'd be a few people trying maybe the hard wet but
00:03:52in the circumstances we've got just got a brad's obviously going to go fast at the start so i'm
00:03:56guessing he's going to be on the software so just do the same and uh i'll give it me all um i know what
00:04:01what position i need to finish but i don't want to be uh don't want to be a girl and uh ride around
00:04:05in 13th i want to want to have a good i want to have a good go good luck thanks mate cheers yeah
00:04:1130 points in front for kyle now one hand on the championship really uh but still anything can grow
00:04:17on and and you you there's a lot more chance of something untoward happening in these conditions
00:04:23either way to be quite honest uh danny uh good meeting really and it's getting better but these
00:04:28conditions i don't know whether you favor them or don't favor them looks fairly slippy to me i don't
00:04:32envy you yeah it's just been a weekend of progression really you know it's not helped
00:04:35missing all one yeah i felt a bit rusty at the beginning of the weekend but um yeah last time i
00:04:40rode here in the wet we managed to get our first win so um yeah i'll be trying my best to do the
00:04:44same hope you do good luck thank you uh right middle of the front door this is the man who's got
00:04:50all the work to do brad ray 30 points behind these are conditions where some things can happen
00:04:56really people always say they want to see the season out with no bad weather but really
00:05:01this is what brad needs you need something fairly special to happen and these are conditions
00:05:06it might just yeah that's it obviously one race to go in uh in 2025 um mathematically we're still in
00:05:13the mix 30 points and uh 35 for win 30 seconds so uh just got to enjoy this race try and uh try and
00:05:20get out and uh anything could happen in this sport you know that so uh i won't be giving up until the last
00:05:25lap of the race mate it's going to be mad afterwards which whatever happens here and i'm probably not
00:05:30going to get a chance to speak to you but just going to say what i see you put together between you
00:05:35and kyle it's been exceptional and exceptionally nice people and role models so well done cheers
00:05:41appreciate that thank you good luck uh right uh he's i just got it all to do and it is a big ask but
00:05:47like i said these conditions are such that things can happen he's just about to put his helmet on
00:05:52scott redding's had an again had a absolutely brilliant meeting we've only got a minute left
00:05:58let me get his helmet on uh scott brilliant meeting different conditions are you feeling about this one
00:06:04not so confident i'll be honest um yeah it's a bit of a learning for us in the rain with the bsb spec
00:06:12bike so we'll see if we've got some feeling we'll do what we can if not it's something that we've tried
00:06:17again so we'll see i'll tell you what this meeting already no matter why i'm here it's been a good
00:06:22setup you people are looking at you for next year thinking tell you what you'd have a few quid on that
00:06:26yeah we'll see i've just got to work on the wet so maybe we found some at now maybe we haven't
00:06:31so i'm just going in the unknown mate we'll see no shot thank you right 20 seconds left that's it
00:06:36conditions with cheap blazer pumps on it feels really slippery i don't know how much i haven't
00:06:41told any of them that i shouldn't really uh but yeah it's going to be uh going to be pivotal this
00:06:46brad got it all to do kyle got to stay on his bike and finish but not so easy to do that in these
00:06:51conditions you have no shortage of guys who want to win this no shortage of guys who can win it as
00:06:58well but the challenge for brad ray is clear he has to be in the top two 13th or higher will be enough
00:07:04for kyle ryde one of them will be a double bsb champ in just a little while
00:07:34it's the final race of the season it's kyle ryde here the defending champion with a 13 point lead
00:08:00to defend over brad ray the 2022 champion who has it all to do and some more and he's going to need
00:08:08a little help on the way if this was a dry race it would be plain and simple here for kyle ryde
00:08:15but it's not it's a wet one as we finish things off here at brands credit to the marshals and the fans
00:08:20for sticking by in horrible conditions but it has stopped raining for now it's quite simple in this
00:08:27championship then kyle ryde doesn't have much to do to become british champion once more and make
00:08:33it back to back bsb titles brad ray must win or finish second and hope that kyle ryde is 14th or lower
00:08:41or doesn't score at all as the riders then make their way around on the warm-up lap here 20 laps
00:08:48in the wet at brands coming up it's the warm-up lap in for the final race of the season at brands
00:08:58hatch gp and the rain has fallen it's stopped for now but as you can see it doesn't look like it's
00:09:05going to dry up even though here at brand sometimes it has a habit there's a big weather front coming in
00:09:10about 45 minutes time where we're expecting more rain this is how it looks in the championship kyle ryde and
00:09:15bradley ray separated by 30. brad has to win or finish second and hope that kyle has an absolute
00:09:21nightmare but kyle rarely has nightmares but if it's going to happen conditions like this is the last
00:09:26thing that kyle ryde needed on a day like this and then this afternoon yeah i think uh looking at it now
00:09:32this is perfect for brad ray because exceptional things are less likely to happen when it's dry certainly
00:09:37kyle could just sort of go around and finish reasonably easy condition like this anything can happen and
00:09:44if i was bad ray i've been loving this because you're much better going out in a blaze of glory
00:09:48than sort of not win it beneath a win but not win the championship if you know what i mean car ride
00:09:53heads road two bradway starts from second scott reading looking for the treble also for those that
00:09:57are maybe just tuning in now just to catch this race what we have seen in the races before in the
00:10:02wet it's treacherous out there absolutely there's good good wet weather riders crashing in quite spectacular
00:10:08fashion so that's what i'm saying anything can happen and that's what brad needs so it's still
00:10:12honestly all to play for and that's just going to add to the pressure for this man kyle ride and his
00:10:17face is that chance to be terrible steve rogers we just saw there from raceways yamaha as well it's all
00:10:24come down to this the 33rd and final race of the season 28 brad ray knows what he has got to do yeah
00:10:31really unusual for somebody to wear a visor as smoked and dark as brad ray does he always does that in
00:10:36the wet so yeah that's just personal choice here we go 20 laps is long in the dry 20 laps is very long
00:10:42in the wet here we go then the final race of the season and we are underway it's a really good start
00:10:47that from brad ray actually from second on the grid number 28 he will get the whole shot no he won't
00:10:52because danny kent's coming through and closing the door and all of them on the hager pvm to gatti is
00:10:56got ready to lead my eyes a turn to kyle ride he's lost a couple of positions as they now squeeze
00:11:02their way up through into druids danny kent leads now one of the cams yamaha squeezing through there
00:11:07is brad ray he comes through to lead the pack and there's a fall at back that was scott swan
00:11:13who's come off at the exit and he's oh the riders coming through i think it might have gone off as well
00:11:18kyle rides dropped back to what fifth or sixth spot hopefully all riders okay there that might end up
00:11:26being they've got they have gone they're all they're up they're going to shift the bikes that might not
00:11:31be a safety car because it's this early that they've got a full minute of the marshals to sort it out
00:11:36bradley ray it is though that leads this one and it's this is what he's got to do uh if he isn't going
00:11:40to finish first or seconds no point being out there uh because uh kyle will win the championship anyway
00:11:46so any lower than third for bad isn't going to work and he at this point he's hoping something
00:11:50kyle right there just made a move on scott redding so he's gone up into fourth place yeah uh just a
00:11:57quick note after big crashes earlier on christian id and leon hasland not taking part in this final
00:12:01race yeah lynn has absolutely perfectly all right no problem whatsoever um but the bike is damaged to
00:12:08the extent that they don't want to put it out there when he's got third in the championship for any
00:12:12anyway he i just chatted he says oh i'd go out yeah no problem you could just see there how twitchy
00:12:17some of the bikes are coming out of sterling's these are knife edge conditions for bennett's
00:12:21british super bikes and the thing is it's easy and you could say well car rides only just got to
00:12:26get a couple of points but you can't just rest in this it's not easy to do it this is perfect for him
00:12:30get stuck in behind someday and use that as a gauge the danger man there is fraser rogers yellow bike
00:12:37the tag honda he fancies a little bit of this wants to go out with a result and and he's prepared
00:12:42to take a risk to do it yeah he always sticks his neck out in the way he's brilliant on the tag
00:12:45honda he's on the podium and not kill early in the year storm stacy another one you want to keep an eye
00:12:50on there is storm on the ajn bathens pmw just closing up onto the tail now of scott redding yeah now
00:12:56this is what uh kyle ride's got to be careful of he's got a really enthusiastic and keen uh
00:13:02fraser rogers behind him who will take a risk and you don't want to get involved in that accident
00:13:06should it come no so many riders just want to end this season maybe with a bit of glory
00:13:10absolutely yeah that's interesting thing yeah so onto the back straight we go on lap two of 20.
00:13:15it's ray leading that's what he needs it's danny kent second then skinner then ride as things
00:13:20down the championship of course would go the way of kyle rye
00:13:41wins for brad to win the championship so he's a-okay at the moment
00:13:50you just you would wonder whether there's some some tactics might come into play brad
00:13:58ray thinks he's got the pace to clear off in these conditions why would you do that would you not
00:14:03back him up would you not try and get other people involved more chance of something going wrong like
00:14:07this like fraser rogers having to go at kyle ride i don't know
00:14:11in conditions like this though you've already got enough on your plate just keeping the bike on
00:14:21this i know but you start off with these plans when you've time to think about and sometimes
00:14:25yeah if something let's say unbelievable is going to happen it's going to happen in the wet completely
00:14:33there's a lot more chance of something exceptional happening for better or worse yeah
00:14:41you both riders at the same time kyle doesn't really want to get broiled in too many battles
00:14:50yeah sometimes that's what things do happen that's the whole point you know uh john hopkins
00:14:54was saying exactly the same you better press it on do it and ride it to yourself not trying to ease
00:14:59off not trying to get involved with somebody or allowing people you don't use the race with to get him
00:15:04more because they will they will scott reading i think has just lost a place to charlie nesbitt
00:15:14reading not comfortable in these wet conditions here at brands nesbitt and stacy and bribewell
00:15:19are all behind him and billy mcconnell also handy in the wet is coming through max cook there the solo
00:15:26fs3 kawasaki rider age
00:15:33and steel stock yeah i asked that i'm right about the condition of christian he says he's all right
00:15:38he's had a knock on the head don't think anything broken but to be safe they've gone and uh and
00:15:42take him to a and e it's simple yep it's the nearest hospital hospital here in kent there is storm stacy
00:15:49now trying to pull a move up on scott reading and he does yep storm on uh the aj and bathoms uh bmw
00:15:57is always good in these conditions tommy bridewell also ready to pounce there on reading as well so
00:16:02it's not going to look well it's certainly not looking like being a treble for scott danny kent was
00:16:07the fastest man on the last lap on the mccams yamaha in second yeah and danny came one of these
00:16:11conditions last time here loves this place doesn't mind these conditions and uh would
00:16:15love to see the season out with a win i think yeah it'd be brilliant for tim and sonya martin as
00:16:19well wouldn't it march right yeah you've got to be thinking hang on a minute that's yeah somebody
00:16:23going for the championship right in front and he's it he's
00:16:33talk to gentlemen he's not going to do anything if it's a pass it'll be clean it will be anyway but
00:16:38especially in this condition another fastest lap of the race for danny kent in second place the pair
00:16:42of them just peeling away slightly from rory skinner they've brought uh fraser rogers in four nothing
00:16:48to lose for fraser and kyle ride the championship leader then still in fifth yeah most of these
00:16:58as well have gone down down the pit lane i know i saw it happen and speak to the last people out on
00:17:03track would have been super sport riders the pace was really quick but there was a fair attrition rate
00:17:08so they'd want to know from those riders exactly at that point or latest uh information where is the
00:17:14where's the grip where isn't the grip um and just all adds to the knowledge that you need in these
00:17:20conditions you've got to be so careful so smooth keep away from the white lines that's your history
00:17:24for any of these white lines honestly yeah and also we saw a few crashes over at paddock hill bends
00:17:28paddock hill and hawthorns were the two that were catching people out that i saw also clearways yeah
00:17:34saw a number of fallers in the superstock class let's not forget in superstock you've got
00:17:37electronics to help you no not so here in superbike correct
00:17:48electronics no active electronics in uh in superbike i mean you have got electronics you can dump the power
00:17:53down but you can only do that everywhere you know this the bikes cannot actively uh detect a slide
00:18:00and sort it out for you so in that respect no no no rider aids so far so good to brad ray
00:18:05is he now doing what you said james is he potentially backing them up a little yeah i think
00:18:09because charlie nesbit's now on the tail of kyle this is what this is exactly what brad needs to do
00:18:16come up a little bit difficult to back them up without getting past though you know even that
00:18:26in itself to the balance act because he can't drop any further than second otherwise he's lost the
00:18:30championship now is there a move coming there from kent no reports on the circuit that it's starting to
00:18:37rain in one or two sectors again and it
00:18:39and we've got rain on the window of the comms world yeah nesbit's through on kyle ride so charlie
00:18:50nesbit on the master mac honda now moves up into sixth fifth spot ahead of the nitrous competitions
00:18:56yamaha rider kyle ride still all fine for kyle but it would be a nervy remaining race if he dropped a
00:19:04few more yes it would this is the pass charlie nesbit who's had a good meeting that's charlie perfectly
00:19:10clean move yeah
00:19:22oh rory skinner now closing up on the two yamahas out front
00:19:28nothing to split in lap times really the top eight or nine at present no not at all
00:19:33so next up for kyle ride if he's not going to go back through on nesbit he's got storm stacy up
00:19:40behind him yeah again uh no problem with that for me tom stacy is a really clean rider really safe
00:19:47rider for the most part the bmw is really sharp it's regularly uh top yeah and he's come danny kent
00:19:52on that's not what he needs he cannot drop any further back than this at all otherwise it's over anyway
00:19:58and the no the the bain
00:20:08they're queuing up behind in there i like to call them the vultures yeah well yeah yeah
00:20:15and do you know in this this condition when there's a champion championship at stake you can smell the
00:20:21kind of edge and fear and and you know all that's to you think right i've nothing to lose here i go and
00:20:26one of the riders will think exactly that he's the yellow bag that's fraser rogers and i think
00:20:32charlie nesbit a bit oh yeah
00:20:40remove there on fraser and sending him a bit wide as well it's sounding like those two are going to be
00:20:46teammates for next year yes
00:20:49yes at the moment though out front is danny kent who leads then from bradley ray who's now going to
00:20:55come under attack from rory skinner yeah rory's had a although albeit he slid up in the last race
00:21:01he's had a he's been fast this meeting shall we say fastest man on circuit storm stacy number 79
00:21:07behind kyle rye tommy pridewell also closing in on this group right storm stacy now will uh
00:21:19to get on to the stretch fairly sharp a little bit of slipstream i think he's going to go up the
00:21:24inside into hawthorne's which is the next right-hand draft in his kink he will definitely make sure it's
00:21:28clean as you said he is a very clean rider stop so he's not close enough to make a lunge there
00:21:32he's a safe rider storm for a young fella you expect him to be a little bit nuts in there passing
00:21:37but he's not he's very safe if brad is second in this race kyle would need to be 15th or lower
00:21:42for the championship to change 15th or higher it's a win for kyle this is nesbit now making
00:21:50a move on rory skinner charlie nesbit looking for his first post
00:21:59of the season so far yep a really clean move machine curve and that is very and storms through
00:22:04as well on kyle right now and charging in on them is tommy pridewell on the honda
00:22:12there's a few of them all joining the party here yeah there's i still think kyle is fairly safe
00:22:19there's not that many behind that's going to put him lower than probably let's have a look 10th or so
00:22:26fraser rogers think about move on rory skinner this is kyle ride on the nitrous competitions
00:22:31yamaha can you imagine what's going through his mind not only have you got to ride the conditions which
00:22:35have mind-bendingly focus in any way you can't make any single mistakes you've got to think about
00:22:40everything uh all at the same time but also thinking about his championship difficult place
00:22:45for kyle yeah really it really is because on any other normal sunday in the final race in a dry race
00:22:50you're comfortable you put your house on it you don't put your house on it but things can happen
00:23:07in the way as you can see here luke hedger a great 10th place for here earlier today
00:23:14that pace is weak enough luke but he's down and out we've only actually got
00:23:28by the looks of things here 18 riders on the circuit so
00:23:40you get a few more fall and there's only so far you can fall back through the path yes correct
00:23:45leaving the way still then here is danny kent four tenths clear of bradley ray there is kyle ride we saw
00:24:04this of course roll out last year ride versus bridewell but not quite in the same circumstances
00:24:09but it's really quite difficult to pull that off uh in these conditions max cook there number 30 from the
00:24:26aj
00:24:32still stop kawasaki and billy mcconnell are now tagging on to the back of this leading pack yeah all of whom
00:24:39don't really care what's happening in the championship they're more bothered about
00:24:48uh nicking the result uh in the last
00:24:56race of their season the gap then back to scott reading lee jackson glenn irwin and josh brooks over
00:25:02the line there then for brad ray he's keeping kent inside he is in fact he was the fastest lap
00:25:08until he got his personal fastest lap but it's still storm stacy a 36.2 then for storm
00:25:20yeah i can't tell you how difficult these conditions are now
00:25:24easy it is to make a mistake
00:25:36all right there just a bit of a squirm he's he's lost his knees right
00:25:38they changed their knee sliders a lot of riders changing these fadders in these conditions you
00:25:51have as much lean angle so they put bigger thicker ones on and uh yeah you can see it flapping look
00:25:57there it goes yeah it doesn't even look like a thickness that it's like a normal knee slider that's
00:26:02just come off which is unusual with that impact in any way yeah someone else it would some it wouldn't
00:26:13some like to get the knee down and they actually suffer a little bit if they don't because it's
00:26:17kind of a lean angle gauge and sometimes they put a bit of weight through it sometimes we've seen the
00:26:21riders save the front end if they get a slide uh others not so they don't i mean
00:26:26look it's kind of one thing you really don't want to just
00:26:36he's got to forget it and the problem is now even in these conditions that are slippier on track when that
00:26:48knee without a knee slider on touches it doesn't slide too early it kind of grips a little bit which is
00:26:53unusual and a bad feeling tommy's through one of his favorite overtaking spots he's still
00:27:04so tommy on the honda now goes through and car ride car ride drops to eighth place can you imagine
00:27:09how slow this race is going for car ride well as i said james in the dry 20 laps around brands hgp is long
00:27:15but in the wet i mean he'll think he's done 100 laps already oh this this is just the longest ever
00:27:25race for him honestly he'll just feel that time's a relative kind of concept and he will be
00:27:31feeling that time's taking back really slowly faster slap the race now for rory skinner number 11 the
00:27:42rider currently in sixth place this is all
00:27:52bunching up at the front charlie nesbitt of course looking for his first ever british super
00:27:57bike victory we should just point out here and as you can see from the rear end squirming out of
00:28:02druids he doesn't care one jot about this championship he doesn't rise really well as they go meeting
00:28:06already as charlie is finished on rossum a few times we've seen that goes particularly well at
00:28:11thruxton um but yeah he's coming of age he's another rider exactly the same as max cook uh they've grew up
00:28:17together same town from swindon and uh they they've ridden together on minibikes and there's nothing to
00:28:24split between them in terms of talent i don't think the three riders that are behind kyle ryde are all
00:28:30faster than kyle ryde at the moment on circuit max cook that line green karasaki billy mcconnell and
00:28:36scott redding has started to warm up his pace now that group that's coming along is a little bit more
00:28:42dangerous for kyle ryde yes he wouldn't want to fall to the back of that no he wouldn't and now he has to
00:28:47start stopping the rock at some point if he's keeping dropping back you can see the the differences
00:28:56in sectors there from kyle ryde in eighth and max cook in ninth yeah for kyle's fight he'll be seeing
00:29:03what's going on in front and just hoping that uh people like uh with nothing much to lose like
00:29:07nesbitt especially sprays of rogers storm stacy will want to go and have a go at brad ray do you think brad
00:29:14ray at the moment is quite content in second that there is someone in front of him maybe
00:29:18yeah maybe yeah i would say in in terms of just doing uh clicking the laps off in these conditions
00:29:24yes having something to gauge in front of you is a good thing moment there for storm stacy he's in fifth
00:29:29this is a fascinating final race here and the thing is these riders get on really well off the bikes for
00:29:37the most part uh certainly max cook who's right up behind uh kyle right now they're they're really
00:29:43good mates they cycle together spend a little bit of time together off the bikes when they don't
00:29:47need to do they're good mates so it's a it's a weird dynamic in i think you know you have to feel
00:29:52don't you though for these riders fighting for a championship in this we wanted it to be dry here
00:29:57this weekend but these are the cards that have been dealt kyle right here then as it stands would be
00:30:01back to back british superbike champion the first to do so since shaky burn but he's still got a long
00:30:09way to go we would have only gone halfway distance at the end of this lap yeah he just put his fastest
00:30:15lap of the race and you'd expect that uh as you realize and work out where the grip is and where it
00:30:20isn't you tend to hone you can align a little bit and find that grip if you can and that means your lap
00:30:26time just sneak down there's gonna be no big gaps in lap times dropping uh but certainly that was
00:30:31the fastest lap for most people took their fastest after the racing so far yeah and just to highlight
00:30:35your point josh brooks in 14th the 136.3 is pretty much the same lap times as what the leader yeah two
00:30:42are doing out front yeah yeah you can see then the raceways yamaha there at bradley ray number 28 yeah on
00:30:48his uh on his right upper arm you can see the green light that's because that's the status of the airbag suit
00:30:54that's just to let you know that it is uh kind of ready to go and armed if you like last thing you
00:30:59want it to do is go off when you don't need it in the paddock when you have a cup of tea or whatever
00:31:03uh so you turn that off but the green light tells you immediately the reason it's not on your shoulder
00:31:08so you need to see it with an helmet on so they put it on the upper arm those of you just tuning in
00:31:13wanting to know the championship picture this is the last race of the season file ride with a 30 point
00:31:19lead coming into it there's 35 for a win brad ray in second has to finish in the top two if he doesn't
00:31:25finish in the top two car ride is champion it's game over yeah kyle ride is okay at the moment he
00:31:30would be crowned champion in eight but with brad in the top two kyle cannot afford to drop out of the
00:31:37points here yeah in fact if if kyle dropped out the points and brad finished second that's the oh we got
00:31:43one that's fraser rogers yeah has gone down yeah in pursuit of a podium here hopefully he's okay he's
00:31:51battered around this weekend at brandt hatch well he said he was going to do that he said he was going
00:31:55to stick his neck out and fair play to him yeah if if brad finishes second that's 30 points there's 30
00:32:03points in it that means if kyle didn't finish brad would win on count backs a pack comeback of wins
00:32:10in which he has more than kyle so yeah this is uh i don't even want to work it out past that no let's
00:32:17not this is the moment then for yes rogers rider in fourth yeah into hawthorns and we've seen a few
00:32:25accidents there uh mostly high side but uh fraser going in charlie now up into second and this would
00:32:31put right right completely out of it yep this is championship whatever happens if it finishes like
00:32:36this to car ride charlie next bit then goes off into second place remember no podium for charlie as
00:32:43yet this year no wins for him in his career you would really think that brad ray and i think he's
00:32:49capable of doing this would know the situation and know that there's nothing down for him if it finishes
00:32:53like this and would just have a go head down you've got to but it's difficult to say that motorcycles are
00:32:59dangerous things you don't want to get hurt you've got the little voice in back your head saying this is
00:33:02going to hurt if it goes wrong you've got to overcome all that in a situation like they said
00:33:06just stick your neck out it's easy it's easier said than done yeah it is i mean whatever happens
00:33:12james here today whatever happens brad ray and car rides you have to be magnificent they've been
00:33:17brilliant magnificent in terms of riding in terms of how they've conducted themselves in terms of you
00:33:22go look at them in the paddock they'll talk to anybody at any point they're brilliant with the fans
00:33:26they've all got the families here this is proper racing between two lads who have put everything into it
00:33:31and you don't you know see either of them lose but one has to do they both came from working
00:33:36class families they're not coming to money no but but what gets me from different parts of the country
00:33:42completely like 250 miles away from each other but they got to know each other in a national
00:33:47youth championship on minibikes and have been mates ever since and they've traveled together and spent
00:33:51time together it's brilliant this is i'm getting emotional save yourself james but still quite a long way to
00:33:57go i still love my motorcycle racing and when it's two people like this there's a lot to like there
00:34:02is it's they're in garages next to each other down in pit lane i think it's been so nice to see
00:34:08everyone wishing not just the riders but their families and the teams all the best sean and kev
00:34:14the two dads wish each other well yeah before the start of every race yeah bradley ray of course went to
00:34:22world superbike off the back of winning the british crown here in 2022 and it didn't go his way but
00:34:28not through fault of his any fault of his own wasn't on competitive enough machinery i think and
00:34:33it's worth just pointing out here brad ray and kyle ride in theory should be fighting in world
00:34:39championship as we speak to do it we shouldn't be that lucky to be commentating on these guys today
00:34:43exactly that yeah and the world super bikes losses our gain absolutely and that's why the level in this
00:34:48country the depth of field is such uh such that it is uh it wasn't like a talent that um brad ray
00:34:56suffered from in world superbike not at all it's the it's the environment as we have it at the minute
00:35:03so it is danny kent at the moment who leads this race on lap 13 of 20 from charlie nesbit with brad
00:35:08ray in third brad has to be in the top two car ride at the moment is in seven yeah we're still with
00:35:14that time slip going on every lap is taking 25 minutes in his head oh and we've got to pull up
00:35:20and it's rory skinner yeah skinner now goes down out of fourth place
00:35:27hopefully rory's okay and they're staying down just assessing what the situation is just put in his
00:35:33fastest lap of the race but it just goes to show how easy it is for it to happen in a millisecond one
00:35:41wrong little bit of line you'll be six inch different in line to where you were the lap before
00:35:45and every other lap or you can touch a white line or a little bit too much front brake it just anything
00:35:50can go wrong at any point in these conditions it's not like a car where you can have the thing sliding
00:35:57pretty much your first slide in these conditions could well be your last one especially if it's a front end
00:36:01again both charlie nesbit and brad ray losing the rear a little bit there into 30s climbing up the hill
00:36:14one lap 14 the top three have broken away from bridewell and coke stacy is still fifth then ride now in
00:36:22six because of the crash for skinner and cook reading mcconnell and jackson you top ten brad ray manning shot
00:36:28there manning third has to do something about this he unless he's hoping one of the the leaders
00:36:33in kent or charlie nesbit are going to go down the road and that can easy happen but it's not
00:36:38something you want to rely on
00:36:42so yeah well the only thing is james we're actually getting to the stage here where
00:36:46we might only have 15 riders in it and then it won't matter it won't matter anyway it won't
00:36:52it's not to be screened there top left you can see uh the macam jamaha team of course my train's
00:37:00last race tim martin and sonya martin yeah they're bowing out and this would be a nice way for them to
00:37:05bow out wouldn't it ever yeah uh been a presence in the paddock for years one two british super
00:37:09sport championships with various riders they've they've raced the roads they put a lot of their own
00:37:14effort and a lot of their own money to racing over the years and they're lovely people uh we've been eating
00:37:18in their whole totality this year and enjoyed every minute great and whatever they do now i said
00:37:23to tim what are you going to do now you need to obviously they're going to have a rest
00:37:28also you've got there a couple of boys who don't live too far away from each other in the country
00:37:32fighting out for win charlie nesbitt would dearly love to get his hands on a winner's trophy and there's
00:37:36a nice little story there with the hickens as well at hawk racing and the two guys fighting for the
00:37:41championship because steve hicken and stuart hicken basically gave brad ray and kyle ride the
00:37:47opportunities yeah one thing they've done over the years and and it's for a couple of reasons
00:37:52uh is give younger riders a chance at this class and a lot of teams won't because normally what you
00:37:57get with a younger rider is a little bit of crash damage that's just normal these things are difficult
00:38:02to keep on the track at the best of times so you tend if you've got uh if you've got a choice you'll go
00:38:08for slightly older slightly safer rider because it won't cause you as much in crash damage the hickens
00:38:13park racing steve has done a really good job in giving younger riders a chance and it's brought
00:38:18one or two through hasn't he he has yeah their first three years of brad's british superbike career
00:38:24was spelt spent in build-based suzuki yeah with suzuki yeah where he picked up his first podiums he
00:38:30won the opening two races of 2018 and kyle and kyle well more importantly with kyle kyle had quit racing
00:38:37if you remember he came into british superbike and he had a bad year he quit racing at the end of 2018
00:38:42came back to become british gp2 champion in 2019 and the person to give him an opportunity back in
00:38:48bsp yeah steven stewart hickenville by suzuki and the rest they say is history right in sixth and this
00:38:56is enough and he'll know it yeah it is now the movement there did you see that they're here of
00:39:04brad ray's yamaha just sliding out and that's off the throttle that's with the throttle close that's
00:39:09really difficult uh to kind of control because you can't close the throttle because it's already closed
00:39:15laps are tumbling here that time should i say 34.9 from danny kent last time around yeah was the
00:39:21fastest lap of the race yeah because he's got he's got company in challenge and challenge nothing to
00:39:27lose he is fairly safe rider generally it loves the way and he will chuck the kitchen sink at getting
00:39:32his first bsb win i'm sure and as you say brad ray knows that any chance he's got slim chance he's got
00:39:37he's got to be in these top two places he can't afford to let these two go no he can't not at all
00:39:42unless he's banking on the uh long shot that they're going to wipe each other out anything's possible
00:39:51daddy kent who missed out in alton park had a chance at the start of the year to finish in the
00:39:57top three of the championship looks like he's moving over to tas racing for next year brad ray's
00:40:03had a good lap here he's right on the back of him now sectors three and four very good here for brad
00:40:10ray you'll see the lights on when you get a rear shot the lights on the back of the bike they aren't
00:40:13great lights they're just rain lights obviously not so much when you're out front and a little bit
00:40:18spread out like this but when you're in the pack it's almost impossible to see the bike in front
00:40:22when there's a lot of spray about uh so rain lights always have to be on in in these conditions
00:40:26reading has uh warmed up and he's gone through now on kyle ride so kyle ride drops back into seventh
00:40:31place that was over at hawthorne's yeah that's the favorite uh passing point for anybody on a uh uh
00:40:39ducati but certainly we've seen scott ready make one or two passes there brad ray was indeed two
00:40:45tenths quicker than kent and nesbitt on that last lap oh i don't like it when the camera swings back
00:40:52yeah there was a bit of a heart in math there for us in the commentary box we're on lap 17 of 20
00:40:58i think stan kyle rye would be a double british champion yeah and rain really coming down now
00:41:07on to the back straight we go and it's the personal best first sector for brad ray
00:41:11again on the raceway jammai digging deep here hey listen he needs to do uh he really is in a
00:41:17position now he's not that much to lose because it finishes like this he ain't won the championship
00:41:23anyway fastest rider on circuit on that last lap tommy bridewell in fourth but he's not close
00:41:28enough really to have an impact on these three at present
00:41:31the lap comparisons that you've got on your screen now that's between bradley ray and kyle rye so
00:41:45on a few laps there 1.1 seconds a second and a half on lap 16 yeah yeah that's that's a big gap for two
00:41:54riders of equal talent and that's kyle rye almost in bring it home mode as well i mean he's funny he's about
00:41:59to come over the line to complete what in his eyes is lap 246 honestly he'll be concentrating that i
00:42:07worried that much and just thinking just he doesn't want the bike to he'll be he'll be under having the
00:42:13bike no over everything i've been hearing every little tinkle from the motor if we're feeling every
00:42:18slide and he'll still be taking ages has been a magnificent championship oh charlie nesbit's gone
00:42:25that's just i didn't think he was there that's charlie nesbit gone well that's all right brad's
00:42:32now back up into second where he needs to be but that's a shame for charlie nesbit yeah on course to
00:42:38finish this year off with a victory so then brad ray then up into second place that would be 30 points
00:42:44for here he actually doesn't need well i'm saying doesn't need if he can get the 35 points by getting
00:42:51back on terms and getting in front of danny kent well that means kyle has to finish even further up
00:42:57have you worked that out yeah no no no if brad wins this race car ride has to be in the top 13
00:43:03right and i think that that's more than possible looking at the lap times at the moment but he has
00:43:07to fit but he has to finish that's the key thing yeah he has to finish the race
00:43:12start of this year brad ray came out swinging absolutely 10 of the first 12 races three triples
00:43:21unbelievable triple triple never seen that i don't think and i don't think there was a single person
00:43:25in the paddock who thought it was possible that anyone would like to overturn that absolutely and
00:43:29this unbelievable consistency from car ride i'm not even going to say don't talk about car ride's
00:43:35consistency how many racing is finished because well at least he'll afterwards please
00:43:42as it stands 20 points the gap and it's still enough for kyle we're on the penultimate lap of
00:43:46the race danny kent here about to potentially send tim and sonya martin off and out of the paddock with
00:43:52a race winners trophy yeah and a big boost of confidence for him as he heads into 2026 yeah with a yamaha so
00:44:00tommy bridewell inherits third that would be his first podium since cadwell park and he'll say that's
00:44:07well overdue for a rider of his stature but here's kyle ride that he's just got a lap and a bit to go
00:44:13here to be crowned champion and he will be just keeping away from those while you've got a balance
00:44:18you've got it you know you can't make a mistake but you've got to almost keep not pushing but going the
00:44:22same pace because as soon as you ease off then things do happen that's when you're at more danger
00:44:2834.8 on that last lap for bradley ray was the fastest lap of the race so far
00:44:35but he's nowhere near close enough at the moment to pinch first from daddy ken the checkered flag
00:44:41will be out on lap 20. don't forget we're currently coming towards the end of lap 18 lap
00:44:49sorry we're about to start and these time screens are all messing around one says one and one says another
00:44:58we need to see signal boards over the line then for bradley ray is it going to be another hot lap for him
00:45:0519 laps completed we start the final lap of the race of 34.8 for danny kent is the fastest lap of the
00:45:12race now the screens have gone up one lap to go this is it doesn't look like brad's going to challenge danny
00:45:18kent he can he's just open he can one that backs look if the pack's gone he never saved meanwhile
00:45:26kyle ryde goes over the line in sixth place which is plenty good enough plenty good enough it will feel
00:45:31like a long old lap there he is coming around true it's the 28 year old from jacksdale who almost
00:45:38quit the sport blaze baker has just gone down don't panic about that even though it's similar colors to
00:45:43kyle ryde to give everyone a heart attack yeah and marshall's on the run never good
00:45:49british champion many times before kyle ry the british 125 gp champion of 2011 he was the youngest
00:45:55ever 125 gp winner back then as well even at that point we knew we had a lot of talent and we were
00:46:00pretty sure with both ryde and ray we were pretty sure that we'd see this at some point
00:46:06bradley ray here he's going to finish in the top two but it's not going to be enough it looks like
00:46:14here danny kent will bow out of 2025 with a victory to his name tommy bridewell will be on the podium
00:46:21as well brad has done what he needed to do yeah he's held up his end of the bargain but it will not be
00:46:27enough unfortunately for brad and the raceways yamaha team as they come around clearways corner the final
00:46:32race of 2025 is going to go to danny kent brad ray will come over the line in second place and now we
00:46:41wait a couple of corners to go now for kyle ryde it is third for tommy bridewell and rounding the final
00:46:48turn now he had to wait a long time to get his hands on the bsb trophy in 2024 but it's back to back
00:46:55british superbike titles for kyle ryde who wins it in 2025 i'm not sure that's the way you would have
00:47:02wanted to win it but it's a win nevertheless brilliant dave williams celebrates from nitrous
00:47:08competitions alan gardner there in the garage as well and congrats to steve rogers and the raceways
00:47:13team they'll be back for another bite next year yep but kyle ryde wow 60 consecutive finishes in
00:47:22conditions like this on bikes like this at this level is i cannot stress how almost impossible that
00:47:34and crucially he wins the bragging rights against brad ray his old friend and they will embrace scott
00:47:41redding there and congratulations to kyle ryde boy oh boy is he going to be a thorn in their side next
00:47:46year yeah you can see kyle ryde's put his wet weather leather's on it wouldn't have the scraped up
00:47:50leathers out if it was dry but you do when he's wake because you don't want to run any more leathers
00:47:54if he goes wrong that's really nice to see isn't it nice a bit of emotion there from kyle as well
00:48:01doesn't tend to show so much emotion over the course of the season and any races kyle ryde but he can't
00:48:06believe it even in the pictures we're seeing of uh both riders ray as uh seven year olds it was the serious
00:48:13one always always the serious one but he isn't he's lovely he's not serious because when he's racing
00:48:19yeah that's tana kyle's girlfriends he's going to be so many celebrations now when he came back to
00:48:27britain after attempting red bull rookies he was the pirelli national super stock champion
00:48:33he did a season in world super sport on a kawasaki alongside sofoglu kenan sofoglu was was
00:48:38the world champion but he was only 18 and he really didn't enjoy the travel and he didn't fit

00:49:52not they did with the bike but he needed help traveling he did companion with him and even just to be
00:49:56happier but he'll be happy now he looked through some of the notes that we made in the lead up to the

00:52:22yeah and he said he's worked with a few riders over the years that's tommy great around himself
00:52:26pretty champion himself and he says that kyle's the easiest to work with the in lap then here
00:52:34poor kyle ride he'll make his way around sterling's here and down towards the final corner and he knows
00:52:41what's coming still sinking in we're waiting for him to come round the final corner here with the number
00:52:52one plate on as well not many have defended their championship with the number one plate on
00:52:57in bennett's bsb and the last back-to-back champion of course shane shaky burn but what a job here
00:53:04from kyle when you think what happened at the start of the year he nearly didn't have a ride exactly
00:53:10the team uh kind of disbanded as it were they all went the separate ways that involved both brad and kyle
00:53:17um but yeah i can't stress how good the team's been as well uh reliability never been a problem
00:53:24but it's been perfect yeah big ass that the kid from jacksdale known as youth about to park up

00:54:16bennett's british superbike champion how does it feel amazing uh such a good season me and brad uh
00:54:23such a shame one of us had to lose today it's been said many times both of us deserve to win but
00:54:28yeah uh after that um good race earlier on where i beat brad uh i thought it might be a bit easier but
00:54:35that was so tough everyone was falling off in front of me uh when charlie went down i thought well
00:54:40that's brad first or second so i've got to stay on um so yeah just that's off to my dad with the
00:54:44pit board all my team everything have a great weekend and uh yeah thank you very much you were
00:54:4952 points behind when we came here in july and you've come back here three months later
00:54:54to win the title you beat brad on track as well which i know was important to you as well it's the
00:54:58second half of the season couldn't go much better could it no obviously we had a bit of bad luck
00:55:02thrown us a few times uh ass and old and obviously with the red flag and i thought it was just not
00:55:06going to be my day um but yeah proud of myself for that that was so tough i rode good at the start
00:55:11and then once i seen that the 13th place i needed was easy then i started riding like a muppet and i
00:55:17struggled a bit so uh yeah just means so much not just to me but to all my team everyone uh first time
00:55:22we've been a double double um superbike championship winner since shaky i think 16 17 so uh to be put
00:55:29against uh names like that very proud of myself it's lovely to see your mum and dad out there as well

00:56:25hear from him he's with grace tommy bridewell congratulations on third position when we spoke
00:56:32to you earlier in the weekend you mentioned some bike issues so this must be a good feeling to put

00:57:12tied i've not been able to ride the way i i can so thank you to honda for the past two years um i
00:57:19appreciate all the work and effort they've done um and like i say next year i'm going to come back uh

00:57:50dug so deep and put on a phenomenal performance all year long what are your emotions right now in this
00:57:56moment yeah no obviously uh it's been unbelievable it's been so nice to to be back in bsb and to be
00:58:03in such a such a great team with steve and all the boys they've they've welcomed me in and it's got to
00:58:08be the the best year of racing i've had for a long time coming back from from world championship um a
00:58:13couple of tough years coming back into this environment was uh was amazing and uh it's a shame i
00:58:18couldn't reward them with uh with the championship this year but um no we've had a we've had an
00:58:22unbelievable season the amount of wins we've had and podiums and polls and laughs we've had in the
00:58:28team it's uh it's been honestly amazing so a big thanks to to steve for stepping up um last minute
00:58:34for us and all the boys in the in the team my dad my family um everyone yeah we didn't we didn't give
00:58:39up in that race i knew what i had to do i tried to to get the win danny was uh was super strong um
00:58:45but yeah to be on the box and try and try and at least have a chance on the title was was the main
00:58:50that main aim for today yeah you're a top class rider brad and we saw as you came over the line
00:58:55you gave a a nice tap on the tank of your bike as well so any final words for your team and the
00:59:01package that they've given you this year yeah they've been faultless honestly um we've we've had
00:59:05a couple of difficult rounds i've had a couple of dnfs and um we we lost a few few races through uh
00:59:11for no fault of anyone's um which is a bit of a shame but the boys have been unbelievable yeah i can't
00:59:16count falton um and i'm just yeah ready to get going ready for for next year we're all the same
00:59:22crew same bike um with what i've learned this year we can definitely uh take a fight to next year
00:59:28you should be proud brad congratulations thank you very much cheers
00:59:33and our race winner goes to danny kent danny plenty of us thought that you'd be on the podium this round
00:59:41and you've gone and put it on the top step so uh you must be smiling and happy with that one yeah
00:59:46well we've got good data from last year you know we we had the wet race last year we managed to get
00:59:50our first win so um no i just want to say a massive thank you to cams racing um this year has been we've
00:59:56had some super highs you know we've had three wins but we've also had some super lows and um it's
01:00:00been a difficult year but uh no i just want to say a massive thank you to the to tim and sonia martin
01:00:04um this will be the final race in mbsb um and there's no better way to to go out with a win so
01:00:11uh no but i just want to say a massive thank you to everyone everyone involved go and enjoy it danny
01:00:15congratulations thank you
01:00:21yeah great to see danny kent back on the top step we will get that in just a few minutes time as you
01:00:26can see the boys at the back of the podium we've just roped in tommy hill who's uh ready for a
01:00:31celebration now as kyle's manager and an assistant here at the races as well tommy you must be so
01:00:36proud of him yeah it's amazing i mean i honestly do watch carl and i'm in awe um you know race bikes
01:00:42since five years old and uh i stopped obviously stopped when i was 28 but yeah i love watching
01:00:47mountain track and uh small part of the jigsaw obviously i'm very modest about it but yeah the
01:00:51kid's amazing watching him um grow up here i remember used to knock on my home door and ask for
01:00:55energy gels here at brand's app so uh yeah it's nice to uh to be involved and uh yeah it's very special
01:01:00obviously it's a long season and that was a very long race it felt like an endurance race especially
01:01:04with the conditions changing for the riders but yeah hopefully the crowd had a good show obviously
01:01:08you know it didn't didn't go fully down to the wire with them with the two guys battling out but carl
01:01:12rode an amazing season and done what he needed to do you of course know all about the stresses of
01:01:16battling it out to the final round with this lad yeah he's always standing one foot in front of me
01:01:21if you notice that just just like six inches further in front i gotta get that half wheel length i'm still
01:01:26looking we'll just keep moving forward i'm still looking for that thousands of a second yeah but
01:01:30obviously last year was an amazing race as well with carl that was just an unbelievable experience
01:01:34for me to be involved with um you know i'd always say racing bikes is probably easier being this side
01:01:38of the fence you have with his friends his family sponsors the team everyone that you know puts their
01:01:43effort into to getting us where we need to be and uh yeah another dream come true in a back-to-back
01:01:47championship yeah i mean that's incredible stuff i mean last person being shaky and what's really
01:01:52blown me away is his consistency you know no crashes in 60 races to be that speed that that really is
01:02:00something quite phenomenal and unusual yeah 100 i mean the way he's riding he's he's yeah i've always
01:02:06rated him and um you know to do what he's done it's uh it's a hard thing to do you know winning the
01:02:11championship there and winning races but unbelievable really happy for him big thanks to the team and
01:02:15obviously big thanks to david nitrous because you know wouldn't be where we're now come on last minute
01:02:19and uh yeah save with the team and a big thanks to alan and the guys back at rmg thank you you can go
01:02:24and celebrate with them now tommy i think so thank you very much guys appreciate it thank you up to
01:02:29you steve yeah thanks very much great to hear there and what a lovely send-off for ma train racing
01:02:35tim sonya martin and their family who've traveled along to take home a winner's trophy it has all been
01:02:42about this battle for the title this is the podium for the top three in that race that you've just witnessed
01:02:47tommy speaking big there wasn't he down in park fur mate no confirmation as to whether he stays put
01:02:55or moves on but he's pretty confident that he'll be fighting again that's vince cheney managing director
01:03:02of bennett's who's handing out the trophies here a little sign there up to ollie from tommy and it would
01:03:08be good to see him back brad you have fought so hard a worthy champion himself someone had to finish
01:03:14second unfortunately for this year but he did everything he had to do with danny kent back on
01:03:19the top step back on a yamaha next year but it sounds like he's heading the way of taz racing and tim martin
01:03:29congratulations and thank you for your service tim and sonya are both there both in bsb and in british
01:03:38seeps
01:04:08Congratulations to Danny Kerr that's his fourth British superbike victory and bubbly time here
01:04:19for these three before we wait then for the championship podium presentation to follow
01:04:38Kyle Ride just waiting now doesn't look like it's quite sunk in just yet that he's managed to pull this one off but brilliant job done by Kyle he will just have to wait a little bit longer to get his prize for the party to begin here at Brands Hatch 33 races then now complete the new calendar he's out ready for 2026 we start again next May start of May
01:05:07at Alton Park finish again of course here at the famous wonderful Brands Hatch in October
01:05:13next out then will be third place in the championship which is going to be Moto Rapido Ducati rider Leon Haslam who didn't go out in that last race after the crash earlier on today unfortunately bike not ready he's absolutely fine
01:05:32he came out swinging this year with a podium at the start of the year and a race winner Alton Park as well did Leon a bit of a blip midseason but then more recently scored more points than anyone else in Assen and at Alton Park as well
01:05:46and has confirmed that he will be back again next year wow that is a jacket Dave Williams
01:05:55straight out of Michael Hill's wardrobe that one Leon Haslam then his third overall 125 BSB podiums for Leon in his career
01:06:08second in 2022 for the 2022 champion after a brilliant season for Brad
01:06:20and that goes to the winning team and that goes to Nitrous competition and on the top step
01:06:26in this particular presentation the team champions
01:06:31and a lovely jacket Dave Williams who came to the rescue Nitrous competitions Yamaha
01:06:39trophy there again just being awarded by managing director of Bennett's Vince Cheney
01:06:48for third overall in the standings not his first rodeo Leon Haslam been in the top three six times previously in Bennett's BSB
01:06:57Brad Ray will definitely be one of the title contenders again for next year
01:07:02not the trophy he wanted but all smiles nonetheless
01:07:05and what a way to come into the sport
01:07:08in his first championship as a team boss he takes the title
01:07:15these guys then will head back in Kyle ride he already knew the stats he does the numbers himself he mentioned that he was the first rider to win back-to-back championship since shaky burn in 2016 and 2017 he becomes the fifth person to win back-to-back titles in BSB
01:07:40in BSB john reynolds neil mckenzie keo and shaky and now Kyle ride
01:07:47Kyle ride
01:08:02so
01:08:04a quandary as to them knowing what's going on next here is we now wait for these guys
01:08:09yeah they don't know what to do I'd love to be able to tell you myself
01:08:14yeah I've been told okay let's time to wrap up now we're gonna get ready not sure what's happening here to be honest with you sure with the
01:08:26the pause is yet time to come in please let's go
01:08:29I can play a belt
01:08:35so
01:08:36the top three in the championship the top team of course nitrous competitions Yamaha as well but the posts are already being made ready here for the new back-to-back champion what a year it has been incidentally in those 60 races that he has finished consecutively in the points 37 of them
01:08:54have been on the podium with 15 wins it's not like he's just rolled it home he has fought for two British Superbike championships and won them both during that 60 race journey it is unbelievable and even then it was a mechanical that ruled him out of Alton Park at round 2 in 2024 he's about to step out onto the podium the 28 year old from Jacksdale most of Jacksdale here and present at Brands Hatch started out
01:09:23in mini bikes and mini motor and metric it as Vince Cheney managing director of Bennett's heads out with Stuart Higgs of course series director of Bennett's BSB and the chief executive of the motorsport vision and the celebrations are about to begin a British 125 champion in 2011 a Pirelli national superstock champion in 2014 the British GP2 champion in 2019 and now back to back British superbike champion Kyle Wright
01:09:51Kyle Wright and the biggest smile he's had on his face all season long as Matt said earlier on a 52 point deficit early on in the season earlier on in the weekend he was keen to work out what that would have meant if it was normal points
01:10:08he'd worked out that in normal points it would have been an 82 point overhaul and he would have clinched the crown nonetheless Jonathan Palmer passes over the trophy that he lifted last year and he retains his title
01:10:22Kyle Wright is your 2025 Bennett's BSB champion
01:10:27a special moment for Kyle Wright for his friends and family who are all camped out here beneath the podium will have more reaction to that back-to-back title there's his dad Sean the celebrations can begin now stick around we'll be back in just a couple of minutes
01:10:55Well here at Brands Hatch we've seen a fight to the final lap the final meters of this Brands Hatch circuit where Brad Ray gave it everything we've got his team owner Steve Rogers here with us now from Raceways Yamaha first of all Steve I have to say on behalf of everybody we were just glad to see you guys back in the paddock at the start of the year to bring and make sure that Brad Ray was able to line up on the grid
01:11:25in the first place was tremendous and to take it all the way to the wire you must be really proud
01:11:30Yeah I think the boys did a mega job I mean obviously we had three weeks notice hit the ground running didn't we we sort of put it on pole at the first round and won the first race and it's been a fantastic year I have to say
01:11:41the boys have done a mega job Brad's been unbelievable and yeah glad to be back
01:11:47I rang you 18 months ago when I first heard I'm driving in van I said I was retiring and he goes I don't know what I'm doing but you were needed at a time and what have you enjoyed it
01:11:57Yeah I've really enjoyed it to be fair I have yeah I mean we've had a lot of wins and a lot of pole positions flat records you can't not enjoy it can you
01:12:06I know you've had your eye on Brad for a little while as well Steve you wanted him to ride for you a few years ago I don't think he's disappointed you has he you know working with him for the first time this year
01:12:16Oh honestly it's been fantastic kids mega he's done a fantastic job um yeah we've had 12 wins it's um we haven't got the big trophy but hey we've had a great year
01:12:27we're going again next year yeah we are not just in super bikes but in super sports as well yeah we're super sport as well
01:12:34Yamaha it's a big thing for them the new R9 yeah so yeah we'll have one maybe two riders in that so uh yeah
01:12:41watch this space good stuff thank you very much Steve well done we'll see you again next year
01:12:46we won't be seeing Tim Martin next year unfortunately final race
01:12:50signed off in style though he's talking to Grace
01:12:53team manager at Martran Tim Martin what a way to finish your time in British super bikes Danny Kent's
01:13:02gone and put it on the top step just some words from you on the emotions that you're feeling right
01:13:07now as this chapter comes to a close and what a way to do it no absolutely you know in 2012 we came to
01:13:13this championship for the first time and we won our first race here at Brands Hatch in the super sport
01:13:18and the finish in our last race at Brands Hatch with a win as well it's just it's great than the stars so
01:13:22we couldn't be happier big thanks to Danny reached superbly well in that race the bike was brilliant
01:13:27all the crew all the sponsors just really enjoyed the ride and will motorcycles completely come to
01:13:34an end for you or shall we see you as a spectator a few British rounds in the future yeah maybe not
01:13:39next year because I'm looking at a bit of time off but yeah I'm sure I'm still a big fan of motorcycles
01:13:4320 years of my life's a long time Sonia and I have worked so hard to get the team to this point but
01:13:48it's the right time for us to step back now and I'm pleased to say that McCall's our title sponsor
01:13:52will be staying in the in the in the championship which is fantastic for the sport so listen even
01:13:57even the the fanfare is happening now you couldn't write it so really pleased and thank you very much
01:14:01and the right colours to celebrate for you as well absolutely brilliant yeah my red white and blue what
01:14:06else could you wish for brilliant job we wish you all the best for the future Tim thank you very much
01:14:10cheers yeah it's people like Tim and Sonia who really keep the sport going isn't it yeah very
01:14:16much I mean they've done they've run a really professional team as well obviously they've looked
01:14:19after us all all year as well they've been brilliant and there was just a lovely sort of poetry in him
01:14:25grabbing a a win in their final race in the championship I'm really really chuffed for them
01:14:29yeah the reason they went racing is because they wanted to go racing Tim Martin's been a stalwart of
01:14:33road racing to Isle of Man TT the road the roads in Ireland and BSP won two championships in super
01:14:39sport and it's people like that who drive this paddock 100% I mean being a racer obviously us
01:14:46three here we know those are the people that make it happen they are the ones that put us on the grid
01:14:51and uh just total respect to them total respect and Steve Rogers and of course Dave Williams and
01:14:58Nitrous Competitions Yamaha who uh stepped in as well because it looked sketchy a little bit for
01:15:03I'm sure they would have found it something Kyle at the start of this season but we didn't know what
01:15:06it was going to be for a little period no it's kind of made the championship no we were all
01:15:09disappointed that the OMG the big you're going to be three rider team with Joe Tolbert that didn't
01:15:14happen we're all thinking oh that's terrible for the championship and actually it's kind of made
01:15:18the championship I think yeah yeah it's all right uh so those two guys who were going to be
01:15:24teammates this year finished first and second in the championship and third place of course went to
01:15:28Leon Haslam Leon Haslam not the best of endings to your season we didn't see you out in that race
01:15:35but it's great to see that you kept your leathers on though to celebrate your third in the championship
01:15:41how are you feeling at the end of this season yeah it was all right um yeah it was a weird crash in
01:15:45the in them conditions um and there was nothing to gain for that last race and a little bit of a
01:15:50shoulder injury but nothing too major so uh yeah but a consistent year lots of podiums few wins and
01:15:55roll on to next year let's say that and what are you most looking forward to obviously sticking
01:16:00with the Ducati do you think you're going to have a good package and learnings from this year as well
01:16:04yeah I think the biggest thing is just a second year with the bike and the team yes we've got a
01:16:08new bike coming from Ducati lots of new upgrades that are looking exciting but uh it's more so the
01:16:13continuity with the team uh me what I've understood this year working with the boys what I want from
01:16:17the bike has uh it'll be pivotal for next year so yeah I'm looking forward to it yeah and I think one of the
01:16:22big changes with that new bike is that the neutral position has been changed especially with some of
01:16:27the tracks that we visit on the calendar is that going to be a massive help do you think um not
01:16:32finding a false neutral that maybe some riders have found this year yeah obviously there's always
01:16:36that Ducati are always uh you know pushing the bar and uh you know we've got the double-sided swing
01:16:40on I think it's the biggest one a lot more edge grip and that's the one area that the Yamahas have
01:16:44seemed to have been beating us this year a little bit of turn a little bit of edge grip so
01:16:46Ducati are doing the normal thing and they're pushing the bar and I'm glad to be on it next year
01:16:50well we look forward to seeing that combination all the best for next year Leon yes thank you
01:16:54yep lots to look forward to for Leon next year and for us too but we'll have our final thoughts
01:17:00from 2025 when we come back from this final break
01:17:03well we're almost at the end of our coverage of Bennett's BSB in 2025 but before we sign off let's
01:17:15hear from fourth in the championship unbelievably Scott Redding with seven wins two of them here
01:17:20at Brands Hatch what a half season it was for the comeback kid he's with Grace
01:17:24Scott Redding a fifth position in the final race for you but I think the big talking point is that
01:17:30you finished fourth in the championship coming halfway through it begs the question what would
01:17:36have been if you were here at the beginning of the season so looking forward to next year
01:17:41how are you feeling and the emotions sticking with this bike and what could be possible
01:17:45yeah to be honest in that race I didn't even expect to finish in the points so I dropped back
01:17:51started to come forward again and it's something I got to work on so I use that race as a test to
01:17:55build my confidence in the rain because you need to be good in both conditions so that's what we're
01:18:00working on obviously it's dated for next year super happy to be staying with this team again so you
01:18:04know finish fourth in the championship after mission I think nine races it's pretty good going I think
01:18:10I won seven races and correct me if I'm wrong so super happy like the team's been mega we fit it in
01:18:16together we're enjoying it and yeah happy and looking forward to next year for sure and how have you found
01:18:22learning the electronics on a BSB bike that's been so different to world level bikes how has that been
01:18:29and especially like you say in these varying conditions yeah in the dry it didn't take me too long
01:18:34to figure it out but in the rain that's probably the the biggest hurdle I got to climb is just
01:18:39understanding with no traction control and kind of setting up the throttle maps and then you got to
01:18:45set the bike up but we don't have a lot of wet testing time so it's a little bit taking a stab in
01:18:50the dark but we found something today which was good I just had to build into it these guys know
01:18:54straight away off the gate they go for it but that'll be something we'll be looking forward to
01:19:00working on for next year because I know I'm fast in the rain but I got to have the confidence
01:19:04we look forward to seeing you out there Scott all the best for next year super thanks for watching
01:19:08guys Scott Redding one of many reasons to tune into BSB in 2026 Steve Day will be calling the action
01:19:16again you're looking forward to it I'm sure already Steve yeah it's a mouth-watering prospect with
01:19:20Scott back and Ryan Vickers coming back as well Tommy's the fighting talk coming from him Leon I mean
01:19:26we've got what more than half a dozen riders that could contend for this again next year
01:19:30and you've been watching Kyle and Brad since they were kids what a special moment for both of them
01:19:35to see them do battle here this weekend yeah it's mega I mean for Kyle for any rider to finish 60
01:19:40consecutive races is impressive in any sport especially motorsport but to do it with two BSB titles
01:19:46within that is extraordinary and for Brad as well I mean what a worthy competitor as we've said all
01:19:53weekend like role models for the sport you don't often get weekends like this James no that's right
01:19:58and it's it's I mean listen it's been a great season it's been a unbelievable flip-flop of two
01:20:04halves Brad dominated it you know 12 wins from him you know six some car but Carl's had that amazing
01:20:09consistency they've both been super fast and you throw in Scott his seven wins it's been a brilliant
01:20:14season yeah both you couldn't get two better blokes either both as role models and as riders and as
01:20:19people we've enjoyed that yeah well I've enjoyed it I've enjoyed your company as well and John who
01:20:24stepped off camera to let Steve in for this last little bit you can give us a wave John thanks for
01:20:28joining us this weekend right if you missed anything uh from racing that's been happening around the
01:20:36world actually this weekend at Phillip Island and at Jareth as well in MotoGP and World Superbikes of
01:20:41course you can catch highlights this evening the Alex Higgins Trophy and 100 grand are up for grabs at
