00:00Again, how are they 4-2?
00:03Yeah.
00:04Right?
00:04You don't run the ball.
00:05Nope.
00:06You don't pass protect.
00:07No, you don't intercept the ball.
00:0812 games now?
00:09Yep.
00:1012 games without an interception.
00:13And you cannot rush the passer.
00:164-2.
00:18Favored this Sunday.
00:19Right.
00:20And if you look at yesterday.
00:21Just crazy.
00:22If it wasn't for Baker Houdini on that 3rd and 14 play,
00:28if you stop him there, you get the ball back.
00:31You're down one.
00:32You already have the momentum.
00:33I'm not saying that you go on and win the game,
00:35but the fact that he was able to pull that off
00:38and then two plays later, the deep throw to Tez Johnson
00:40where you're secondary.
00:43And, I mean, they're young and they're going to make mistakes,
00:45but there are two or three or four plays where it's like,
00:48is anybody guarding anybody?
00:51Look, right now this is kind of what I'm looking at,
00:53and this is why I'm saying that I watched the football
00:58game yesterday basically with, like, readers on.
01:02You know what I mean?
01:03John Steining.
01:03Yeah, you watch the TV with readers on.
01:05The whole thing's just fuzzy because readers are up close.
01:10I've never worn readers.
01:12Like, do you go to a restaurant that's dark at night
01:15and, like, they've got a menu with, like,
01:17really little writing or, like, a fun font on it?
01:20Right.
01:21Are you able to do that without readers at your age?
01:23Okay.
01:24First of all, watch your mouth.
01:27You know I've had a tough day.
01:28Or at my age.
01:30Second of all, yes, until my arm is no longer long enough.
01:35Right now.
01:35But sometimes it's dark, so you can do, I can do the arm thing,
01:38but if it's dark and you want to see the description
01:41of the chicken catch Tory, like, what's in there?
01:44What do you got in there?
01:46And the writing is little and in a cursive font,
01:50you got that in your bag in a dark room?
01:52If I don't got that, I'm going to ask somebody.
01:55If you don't know, you better ask somebody.
01:58I'm going to ask the waiter or waitress,
02:00hey, are there capers in this?
02:02Because I'm not a huge fan of a caper.
02:05Shout out, James.
02:06And Dom.
02:07But I'm going to go ahead and go full arm.
02:10I'm not wearing readers.
02:11Readers are, they're going to enable your eyes to be weaker.
02:16Is that true?
02:16Absolutely.
02:17It is?
02:18Yeah.
02:19Get me Doc Pandia.
02:20The more you rely on...
02:21I don't think Doc Pandia does eyes.
02:22But anyway, go ahead.
02:23Anyway, whatever, Craig Bindy's on the phone.
02:26The more you enable your eyes to get assistance,
02:29the weaker they get.
02:30Okay.
02:30Yeah.
02:31Anyway.
02:31I want to see what the hell's in the chicken.
02:33Right.
02:34So I'm watching the game.
02:35Actually, don't bring them either.
02:36Like, I'll do something even more embarrassing.
02:38Like, I'll flash the flashlight on on my phone
02:41and just be like, I'm just going to read this thing.
02:44Yep.
02:44And it's embarrassing.
02:45But whatever.
02:46Anyway, back to the point.
02:47The reason I say I watched the game with readers
02:49is I could not see through the gut punch
02:54of the Fred Warner injury.
02:56And so, I mean, I remember the whole game yesterday.
02:59We can sit here and talk it out.
03:01But I just, I found it difficult to watch that game
03:06in the normal rooting process, X's and O's way
03:11that I normally watch a football game.
03:14Because about every four plays, I would just look up
03:18at the ceiling in my living room and go,
03:20oh my God, I can't believe that that dude
03:24is in the locker room with an air cast on right now.
03:26I can't believe this.
03:29And that changed my thought on who's the guy
03:33that you just really, really can ill afford to lose.
03:38And that player for me is Fred Warner.
03:41I don't see how the Niners, like you can function,
03:44you can win games, who knows?
03:45They could still make the playoffs somehow.
03:46But I don't, I don't see how they have a chance
03:50to still function at a really high level this year.
03:53There's got to be, there's got to be an end to this.
03:57You can't just lose all your good players.
04:00And they've lost almost all of their good players.
04:02I mean, not even close.
04:03Like, you haven't lost them all.
04:06Like, Brock is coming back.
04:07George is coming back.
04:09But they're gone for now, like for right now.
04:11Right, you've had Diamandor Lenore.
04:12Yes.
04:12He's still been there.
04:14You've had Trent Williams, Hall of Fame left tackle.
04:17He's been there.
04:18Although, as you say, he's not playing like one,
04:20but that's why I said almost all.
04:22Sure.
04:22Like, if I gave you a list of like...
04:25Well, we did this two years ago,
04:27and I was the one who told you that the quarterback
04:29is probably fifth or sixth.
04:30Well, and I don't think he's fifth or sixth,
04:32but that's not even what I was about to do.
04:34What I'm saying, if I gave you like a pack of football cards,
04:37be like, who are the 10-9ers whose football card you want this year?
04:43If you were like a kid or an avid collector.
04:45And let's say we came up with eight or nine or 10 names.
04:49Seven of them are hurt.
04:51Well, I mean...
04:52Are they not?
04:54I mean, if you want...
04:54Brock Purdy's on the list.
04:55Kittle's on the list.
04:56Christian and Trent and Diamandor would be three of the 10.
05:00Does Trent fit on a football card?
05:02That would have to be...
05:03Anyway, Ricky Pearsall, Brandon Ayuk, Nick Bosa, Fred Warner,
05:08you get the idea.
05:09And actually, even Juwan.
05:11Until he fought through it and then fought the coach.
05:14No, I mean, would he not be on the top 10 of players?
05:18Probably not, but...
05:20Close.
05:21I mean, depending on how you look at football,
05:23I would put Kyle Juszczyk on there.
05:25Okay, I mean...
05:26I mean, we're getting down to the eight, nine, and 10.
05:28You've got Christian, you've got Demo, and you've got Trent.
05:31That's what you got.
05:33That's it.
05:34That's it.
05:35For your big-name, high-priced players.
05:37That's all you got.
05:39That's brutal.
05:41Right, but it doesn't mean that you can't go out there
05:43and still win football games and be a playoff team.
05:45You're allowed to.
05:47But, I mean, everybody...
05:47Quite frankly, I'm not going to say you should,
05:50because it gets tougher,
05:51but you're still favored against Atlanta.
05:53Yeah.
05:53And you're going to be favored against the Giants,
05:57and you're still going to be favored in a lot of these games
05:59down the stretch.
06:00And I know that doesn't mean that you automatically get to win.
06:03You don't.
06:03But Brock is coming back.
06:05Kittle's coming back.
06:07Maybe.
06:07Ayuk is coming back if they let him.
06:09Yeah, maybe.
06:10Like, aren't we done making assumptions of who's coming back and when?
06:14No.
06:14I don't know.
06:15I mean, Brock will be back either this week or the week after.
06:18He already came back once and immediately had to leave again.
06:20Right, but you would assume that he will be back.
06:23And you look at Tampa yesterday,
06:25and they didn't have a lot of their fancy football card people,
06:29and yet they still were able to go out there and win by double digits.
06:31They have their whole defense.
06:32But, yeah.
06:33Again, like...
06:33Well, they didn't have, you know,
06:35their top flight rookie went out in the second quarter,
06:38and their other two receivers were not there.
06:41And their amazing running back,
06:42who you've been raving about for a year and a half, rightfully.
06:45They probably have the best backup running back in the game, quite frankly.
06:48That was their starter the last two years.
06:50The receivers have a great running back, a great backup,
06:52but they choose not to use him.
06:53That's true.
06:53And he had...
06:54I checked this out.
06:56No carries yesterday for Brian Robinson.
06:59So, you know, you can use your backup however you want to use him,
07:02and they actually threw to him a couple times, and...
07:05Did they have him returning kickoffs yesterday?
07:07Thank God.
07:08That's new, right?
07:09Yes.
07:10It's new because they don't trust Isaac Garendo.
07:13Isaac Garendo, yeah.
07:14I don't even...
07:15I think Garendo played.
07:16I didn't really look at the other special team snaps.
07:18Yeah, I don't know.
07:19The Sky Moore experience, please.
07:22Kyle Shanahan or whoever else is out there in Ninerland listening right now,
07:27please.
07:28Enough.
07:28Enough of the Sky Moore experience.
07:31Him catching a punt at the two, and then catching a punt at the four.
07:35Like, can we get this man a GPS on his watch to where,
07:40when you backpedal beyond the 10, your watch goes beep, beep, beep, beep, beep,
07:44and it tells you to run away from the punt?
07:47Mark, he caught the punt backing up at the two.
07:50It's ridiculous.
07:51And I'm like, I'm going to text Grandy, but I didn't.
07:53It's ridiculous.
07:54And then he caught one of the four, and I was like, you know what?
07:57My team hates when I text during the game because I'm either talking about my pick,
08:02which was right, or I'm talking about negative S.
08:05But after he did a second one, I was like, Grandy needs to feel...
08:09Because I was feeling Grandy from afar.
08:11It's like, Sky Moore?
08:14Why Moore?
08:14Well, thank you.
08:16I actually still want him returning kickoffs because he's the best on the team at it.
08:21Although, can somebody ask Kyle at his next media availability,
08:25do Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowling still exist?
08:29It's fair.
08:30Did they get high ankle sprains and die?
08:33When are they coming back?
08:35I would like Jacob Cowling to return punts.
08:38Ankles are tricky.
08:39If he's ever going to play football for this team, that's what I would do.
08:43I'm not a doctor.
08:45Questionable concern.
08:47Yeah, he did a limited amount of stuff in practice yesterday.
08:50Time for the legal.
08:52Yes, it sure is.
08:53You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ FM and HD1 San Francisco

09:07Monday Night Madness.
09:08Here we go.
09:08But right now, back out to the phones, the coach in Los Altos.
09:11Hi, coach.
09:12What are you doing?
09:14Hey, gentlemen.
09:15Well, I'm driving between meetings and I'm listening to you all.
09:20And, you know, I've been sort of listening off and on today.
09:25And so, first of all, it's a super sad day because, I mean,
09:29when you lose Fred Warner, I think you could argue that he or Kittle are the heart of the team.
09:34Maybe 1-D, 1-0.
09:36And his going down, I think, just hurt us all.
09:40Not just the gruesomeness of the injury, but just the heart of a lion just got taken out of us.
09:46So, when you ask, you know, how are we still 4-2, we're 4-2, but we were barely 4-2, right?
09:53We won four games, eight points or something.
09:56So, but we are still 4-2.
09:58So, what I wanted to get your guys' take on, and happy to take it, you know, off the air, is, you know,
10:07I think you accurately said we don't really know what's going on with B.A.,
10:12but he is a bit of a diva, and he's done this before, and they're stopping the following the team,
10:17and blah, blah, blah.
10:19I'm wondering, do we strike a deal with Miami and say, and get, you know, because they lost.
10:27Tyreek Hill.
10:28Yeah, Tyreek Hill.
10:29Yeah, Tyreek Hill, and maybe give them Ayuk for Chubb, and maybe even some draft considerations.
10:39So, you're thinking about now and later.
10:41The other team that I was thinking needs receivers, and, you know, what about New Orleans,
10:48where they would take a B.A., and we get Granderson, and again, maybe, you know,
10:54if you want Granderson and Cam Jordan, but certainly, you know,
10:58Granderson and maybe a draft pick, I'm just trying to get creative on.
11:03Totally.
11:04We've got a crowded receiver room, and we're not going to do anything,
11:09and I'm a season ticket holder, and I'll tell you, it's frustrating when I hear people think,
11:14oh, yeah, let's cash it in, when we're 4-2, 3-0 in the division.
11:19Yeah, we've lost, folks, but dang, we've still got a solid team.
11:25Oh, I think we lost Coach there for a second.
11:27Yeah, here's what I would say.
11:29I'm with you, Coach, on that.
11:30These are fun ideas.
11:32Here would be my hesitation.
11:33I don't know this.
11:34I don't want to speak for other teams.
11:36I really don't think those bad teams, the Dolphins, the Saints, the Jets of the world,
11:41I don't think they're going to be giving up the players that they want to give away right now
11:46for the likes of Brandon Ayuk.
11:47What those teams are not, they're not going to be thinking, hey, let's get some high-priced veterans in here.
11:53That's not usually how it goes.
11:56If Bradley Chubb or Jalen Phillips from the Dolphins is on the move, the Dolphins are going to want draft capital,
12:01and draft capital only.
12:03They're not going to want to fill up their cap with Brandon Ayuk's salary,
12:07especially when no one's even seen Brandon play.
12:09Yeah.
12:10They don't even know what he looks like.
12:11He's untradeable, and if you want to talk about getting out from underneath Brandon Ayuk,
12:16it's maybe at the end of this year, but I was looking at some of his numbers
12:19and the cap hit, the dead cap.
12:22Even if you did a post-June 1st release at the end of this year, so 2026,
12:29you're looking at a dead cap hit of $55 million.
12:33Oh.
12:33That's all.
12:34Is that all?
12:35Over two years.
12:36So you can spread it out a little bit, and even if you want to trade him after that same deadline,
12:42it's about $30 million that you still have to eat, so trade him!
12:46Yeah.
12:46The bed's been made with Brandon Ayuk, and you don't have to lie in it,
12:49and so however this wants to go and however you want to do it,
12:53and if you want to slow play him and not play him the entire year,
12:56I'm sure he won't be thrilled about it, but you come back next year,
13:00and then that's when you can maybe think about moving off.
13:02Well, we'll see where we're at, because each week as we're learning,
13:05so much new information comes in.
13:08Who's available, all that.
13:10To me, this puts a pause on all trade deadline activity.
13:15I want to see this team actually beat another NFL team without Fred Warner.
13:20I want to see the defense actually get off of the field,
13:24and this is the perfect week to do it.
13:26They've got a young quarterback who's probably only, what's Pennix got?
13:2910, 12 starts in his career, maybe?
13:33You've got a young quarterback coming in for Sunday Night Football
13:36in your home environment.
13:37They're not a great team.
13:39Let's see you beat them.
13:40Let's see you do this.
13:42And if you can do that, now you're 5-2,
13:45and now I think you start thinking about what can we do to sort of help this squad
13:50without breaking the bank and without giving up early draft capital,
13:57because I just don't think you go all in on a year like this.
14:00This is not a roster that's built in this moment with all these injuries
14:04to do something special.
14:05You can still have a good year.
14:07You can achieve some things.
14:08I don't think you're thinking right now, at least, about going all the way.
14:13I don't think you're going all the way.
