00:00I'm going to get started, though, with the National Football League results because, let's just be honest, this was one of the more fun weeks in the NFL.
00:06Lots of underdogs winning, lots of crazy endings, which is what we've come to expect in the NFL, and we got it yesterday.
00:12Speaking of which, maybe no bigger upset than the Patriots upending the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, 23-20.
00:20So those of you who took the Bills in your survivor pool, who didn't take them last week, were waiting for this week, so much for that, you're eliminated.
00:27So the Patriots end up winning this one, and mostly because it was the Buffalo Bills just playing sloppy football from start to finish.
00:34Worst game of the season on the ground, worst game of the season through the air, and quite frankly, Josh Allen was not Superman for the first time this season.
00:42So within the division, how about this? New England has a 1-0 lead in their best of two series that they will finish off later in the year.
00:50Here's Josh Allen on the sloppiness of the game and the outcome.
00:53We just played sloppy. Not going to win a football game, turning the ball over three times in our red zone.
01:01Gave them one in their red zone. That's just bad, bad football, and we just did not play good tonight.
01:07Move the ball around, right? We're going to move the ball. Everybody helped us again tonight.
01:11And I think just a really gutty performance from Drake.
01:16Really just continue to enjoy watching him grow and lead this football team.
01:22And, you know, it was good for us to, again, would love to have a win by two scores,
01:28but being able to come back and execute in a critical situation, take the clock down, you know, and win it on our terms.
01:35Let's get to the rest of the NFL and another upset yesterday happening with the Denver Broncos,
01:43although it appeared that the Eagles were just going to roll in this game.
01:45They took a huge lead, and then Denver stormed back with 18 points in the fourth quarter.
01:51So the Eagles no longer undefeated in the NFL.
01:54Remember, they haven't lost since the Super Bowl, so this was bound to happen eventually.
01:57Here's Sean Payton on the comeback in the second half.
02:00Well, when you look at the first half, we lined up illegally.
02:03We had a false start.
02:04We had two or three MEs.
02:07And I said to them at halftime, I thought defensively we were playing well.
02:11I said, man, we talked about the game we had to play coming in here, and we're not doing it.
02:19So I think we had some, look, we knew it wasn't going to be six, seven yards of carry.
02:25It's a good run defense.
02:26But, you know, we got to keep, you know, kind of hitting that bag, and I thought we did.
02:32I thought we controlled most of the fourth quarter.
02:35Yeah, it's frustrating because most of the things were self-inflicted,
02:39and we beat ourselves, especially in the second half.
02:42There were deep shots in this game that you guys were taking.
02:45Why do you feel like those were there in this game?
02:48Why?
02:49In terms of Denver was doing what you guys were doing.
02:52Oh, they was playing man-to-man.
02:53It was something, yeah.
02:55But we weren't, and they gave it to us.
02:57All right, so A.J. Brown, not as unhappy as I think that he's been this season, but we'll see.
03:04All right, Baker Mayfield in the game of the day, leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Seattle Seahawks 38-35.
03:10Without a doubt, this was the most fun game of the week.
03:14Maybe the best game of the season in the National Football League as they went back and forth.
03:18Sam Darnold was great.
03:20Baker Mayfield was great.
03:21Unfortunately, Darnold threw a ball off the helmet of a Bucs player and ended up getting intercepted.
03:28And not only does Tampa Bay cover the spread, they went out right.
03:32Baker Mayfield seems to be one of the leading candidates for the NFL MVP.
03:37Here he is after the game.
03:38Yeah, that's a, first of all, that's a really good football team that we just played.
03:43Our defense had a couple opportunities for turnovers there early on.
03:47Didn't capitalize, but obviously Levante in the end making sure seals the game for us.
03:52But yeah, just obviously, I mean, the games we've had so far this year, as long as we have time on the clock, we've got a chance.
03:58And our guys truly, truly believe that from the bottom of their hearts.
04:02So it's a good feeling to have and just guys executing, doing all the little things right, Shep on a scramble drill to score the touchdown to tie it.
04:10And then after Tay's interception, just guys having the wherewithal shot and the critical moments, staying in bounds, making them burn timeouts to where we can have the last kick.
04:18And then obviously, Chase, perfect day.
04:21It's great to have him.
04:22And yeah, I know it was high scoring, but in the end, it was complimentary football that won us the game.
04:27New York Giants go into New Orleans behind Jackson Dart, their rookie quarterback, who gave him their first win of the season.
04:34They even took a 14-3 lead in New Orleans.
04:37But Spencer Rattler gets his first win as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
04:41He hadn't won in the last couple of years.
04:44He finally gets the victory because the Giants turned the ball over five times in the Superdome.
04:4826-14 the final.
04:50The Saints not only win the game, they cover that point and a half.
04:53And Jackson Dart obviously knows five turnovers in the NFL, you're not going to win.
04:58Obviously, you don't win many games when you have five.
05:02And you don't get any on the other side of the ball.
05:05So I feel like we had a lot of opportunities where we were just moving the ball down the field and then we would just hurt ourselves.
05:11So, you know, in the NFL, there's every team is a good team.
05:16Every team has talent.
05:17And I just kind of felt like we just kind of gave the game away by those turnovers.
05:26Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts keep on rolling.
05:28They face the Las Vegas Raiders, who have to be considering wholesale changes to their team right now.
05:33They lose 40-6 in this one.
05:35Colts easily cover the number.
05:36They've been one of the best teams in the NFL.
05:38How about one of the worst teams in the NFL?
05:40Baltimore Ravens?
05:41Really?
05:42Yeah.
05:4344-10.
05:44They lose to the Houston Texans in a game that was not close, in a game that Lamar Jackson did not play.
05:50And neither did Roquan Smith or a lot of their defensive players as well.
05:53But John Harbaugh has no excuses for that performance.
05:55All right.
05:56Obviously, got beaten every way you can get beat.
05:59Very disappointed with that.
06:01Did not expect to see that.
06:02Thought we'd play a lot better than that based on the way we practiced.
06:06And hats off to them.
06:07They played a really good game.
06:08Made a bunch of plays.
06:10Did a great job on first down.
06:11We did not.
06:12Built a rhythm.
06:13Really throughout the game.
06:14We did not.
06:16So, just a complete disappointment.
06:19And we're going to have to find a way to turn it around.
06:21Figure out who we are this next week.
06:23And then into the bye and after the bye.
06:25We're going to have more than half the season left.
06:26And we're going to have to find ourselves.
06:27So, that's what our aim will be going forward.
06:31And one of the sucker bets of the week, as I called it last week here on the show,
06:35was thinking that the Chargers were going to easily beat the Washington Commanders
06:38with Jaden Daniels back.
06:40Jaden Daniels, one of the best in the NFL.
06:41When he plays, Commander is one of the best teams in the NFL.

06:46Let's go over to baseball.
06:47The Seattle Mariners get a postseason win at home for the first time since 2001.

06:53America League Division Series tied up at 2.
06:56Big hit for Julio Rodriguez.
06:57Lots of emotion for him last night.
06:59And he said he loves playing in the postseason.
07:02What's the feel of postseason baseball for you as a player?
07:07The feel that is the best baseball you can play.
07:09And it's fun.
07:10You know, I feel like everybody's so engaged in the game.
07:13The fans, the team.
07:15I mean, everybody.
07:16You know, I feel like that's something that I really love about posting some baseball.
07:20And, you know, it was awesome.

07:22These are things I dreamed of as a kid.
07:23I remember just watching the game.
07:25And, like, to be able to be here, you know, playing good baseball for the team is really awesome.
07:30Now, the Toronto Blue Jays are up 2-0 and on the precipice of taking care of the Yankees in the Division Series as well,
07:40thanks to Trey Ysavage and a lot of power.
07:4313 runs scored by the Jays yesterday.
07:46And Ysavage struck out 11.
07:48He was so impressive that I'm going to send the video to my son's pitching coach
07:52and have him learn that pitch that he was throwing.
07:54The Yankees could not hit that split finger at all.
07:57Dodgers-Phillies tonight, Cubs-Brewers tonight in the National League.

08:07We've got a Monday night game tonight between Jacksonville and, of course, Kansas City.
08:11Should be a fun game.
08:12We'll have it covered for you on all of our programming, including game time decisions
08:16and, of course, in-game live as well as the National Football League wraps up its week today.
08:21We also have baseball to preview as well.
08:22We'll get to that in a sec.
08:23Yesterday, a mild upset, I would say.
08:26Yesterday happened, but one of the bigger surprises in the NFL was the outcome of a
08:30running back that you may not be familiar with, Rico Dowdle, former running back of the
08:35Dallas Cowboys, rushed for 200 yards against the Miami Dolphins yesterday.
08:39That's right, 200.
08:40So, of course, I played against that guy in fantasy.
08:43It's been that kind of year for me.
08:45Dolphins lose 27-24.
08:47They have just one win on the season, and the Panthers have two.
08:50Yikes.
08:50Vikings end up beating the Browns in London, as we discussed.
08:53Jordan Addison, who was held out of the first quarter of this game for disciplinary reasons,
08:59catches the game-winning touchdown in London, and the Vikings end up beating the Browns 21-17.
09:05Meanwhile, the New York Jets are going to learn about playing overseas this week.
09:08Maybe that's where their first win of the season will come.
09:11They fall to 0-5 with a 37-22 loss to the Cowboys, and the game wasn't even that close.
09:16The Jets are the only winless team in the NFL.
09:19The total was 47-1⁄2, and in most Dallas Cowboys games, the total goes over.
09:24In fact, I think the Cowboys 5-0 this season going over in games in the NFL.
09:29I think it could be the case.
09:31Also, the Washington Commanders go on the road and pick up a win in Los Angeles.
09:35The Chargers are now playing without their left tackle, their right tackle,
09:39and we're going to get some news here either on this show or later today
09:42on their starting running back, Omarian Hampton, who suffered an injury,
09:47was with a walking boot at the end of the game.
09:48Of course, Najee Harris also already out for the years with the Chargers,
09:51suffering some significant injuries to their team.
09:54Here's Jim Harbaugh on the outcome in the game yesterday.
09:57Penalties, and, you know, the other team capitalizing on – we're able to capitalize
10:07on those, and so, as I said, no excuse.
10:12We get better.
10:15We need to get better, and we're a good football team.
10:18We're not good enough in some of the areas that you need to win games.
10:22And back to work.
10:24I mean, it's just – hard work always pays off, and we've got to strive to do that.
10:32Meanwhile, at Major League Baseball, one piece of news over the weekend
10:35before we get to the final scores and preview tonight's game.
10:39The Texas Rangers are set to make it official.
10:41My old buddy from here in South Florida, Skip Schumacher,
10:45is going to be hired as the next manager of the Texas Rangers.
10:48Schumacher was hired as a special advisor to the general manager, Chris Eason,
10:52Young, before last season, and with Bruce Bocci either deciding to leave
10:57or being pushed out.
10:58I'm not exactly sure how that happened, but either way, Bocci is no longer
11:01the manager of the Rangers.
11:02Enter Skip Schumacher.
11:03It appears as though he was their candidate all offseason long,
11:07which has been, what, like a week or two, and so he'll end up being the manager
11:11of the Rangers in the next day or two.
11:13We'll get a press conference there, which I will be watching.
11:15Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners seem to be pretty evenly matched.
11:19If you watched last night's game, 3-2 the final, the Mariners' first home playoff win
11:24since 2001, and that now ties the ALDS up at one apiece before they take a day off today
11:30and then head back to the Motor City.
11:33Of course, this game was played, and so was the Seahawks game.
11:36In the same day, they had to share the parking lots there,
11:39so the fans of the Seahawks could be heard as they got ready for that game last night in Seattle.

12:29Last night, the Blue Jays defeated the Yankees 13-7,
12:32and those seven runs that the Yankees scored were late in the game.
12:35In fact, if you missed Saturday's game, it wasn't any better as the Blue Jays won that game 10-1.
12:42That one was over before it started, so they'll end up playing game three Tuesday.
12:47That's tomorrow night in New York.
12:48But the story of the day for the Blue Jays began early as Trey Savage,
12:53the starting pitcher who had only been called up a couple of weeks ago,
12:56struck out 11 Yankees in five and one-thirds inning
13:00and basically did it off a split-finger fastball, and that was it.
13:04Just kept throwing it, and the Yankees kept swinging and missing.
13:07Here is E. Savage on a career night for him just a few weeks into his career.
13:13It is a dream come true, and I'm sure tonight when I'm laying in bed in New York
13:17that it'll really hit me.
13:20You know, my dad, it's his signature move.
13:23He's been doing it for years when I was in college.
13:26Would run around our basement when they're watching the game on TV, high-fiving everyone.
13:30But, yeah, I mean, I'm sure it'll sink in later tonight.
13:37Meanwhile, this evening in the National League,
13:41they will continue the division series in Philadelphia,
13:44where you would assume the Phillies probably have to win this game tonight
13:47after posting a lead in game one and then letting it slip by
13:51thanks to Teoscar Hernandez and company.
13:53Dodgers-Phillies tonight, 6-0-8 Eastern.
13:56It will be Blake Snell against Jesus Lozardo.
13:59Last postseason start for Lozardo in Philadelphia did not go very well.
14:04I was there.
14:04We'll see what happens tonight.
14:06The Cubs will take on the Brewers in that showdown at 9.09 p.m. Eastern.
14:11Shota Imanaga against Aaron Ashby tonight.
14:14That is the matchup between these two central foes.
14:18Two nationally games tonight.
14:20And fun.
14:21I like these games starting just after 6 o'clock.
14:23That's pretty cool as well.
14:25Okay, there's a big story that doesn't involve sports,
14:28but a former player in the National Football League, in case you missed it,
14:31Mark Sanchez, who works for Fox Sports, former quarterback in the NFL,
14:35is facing a level 5 felony battery charge, which carries a one- to six-year sentence.
14:40Authorities in Indianapolis announced there was an altercation that happened over the weekend
14:45involving Sanchez and another individual over apparently a parking spot.
14:50Although no exact details have come out yet, authorities in Indianapolis said that they're still unclear
14:55as to what exactly Sanchez in the end will be charged with as they're still investigating the situation.
