00:00LaFleur, the other LaFleur in Arizona, we already saw them on the Hall of Fame game,
00:07which was very entertaining, but he's already made the announcement that his starters are
00:12all playing in game one, coming up here against, what, the Raiders?
00:18So, interesting, you know, first time head coach, he's like, nope, all the starters are
00:23playing, and then you got guys like McVale, like, yeah, no starter is playing in any preseason
00:28game here, so, going to be interesting to see if that comes back to bite into these younger
00:33head coaches.
00:35It is, it's a good learning opportunity for them, you know, they got to get through it
00:40at some point, I will say, you're seeing 63 points the other night for the Hall of Fame
00:46game, I don't think that should be the expectation going forward for all these preseason games,
00:50we're going to see a lot of them end 17 to 10 or something along those lines, it's not
00:54going to be that high scoring, but to see where all of these head coaches go in the first
01:00few weeks of preseason is going to be very interesting, a lot of them have very high
01:05expectations about them and the team, and, you know, just the level of success that they're
01:09expected to have with Buffalo, with Baltimore, those types of teams.
01:13I will say, the lines that we see for some of these preseason games as is every year are
01:19absolutely insane, given the fact that we get such little information, you know, to
01:24see that the Bengals are going to be starting their starters of Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase
01:29and Tim Higgins, it doesn't mean that they're playing the whole game, it's going to be like
01:33one, maybe two series, so we should be betting into the Bengals at six and a half point favorites
01:38saying, oh, Joe Burrow's the starter, or whatever the permutation is for every single team and
01:43every bit of news, so just take that into account when you are, if you're betting preseason
01:48games. What do you do with Harbaugh? I mean, 47 and 17 straight up in the preseason, which
01:57is just absurd. Does that transfer over to the Giants, do you think? Should we just, until
02:04we see otherwise, Giants to win every preseason game here? It's certainly a route to go, and
02:13I think if, I think you have to be on one side of it, like especially for a player, a
02:18coach
02:18that's had this much success in the preseason, we now get like a line of demarcation where
02:24he's now with a new team, a completely new environment, new players, this, that, the
02:27other thing. You have to go into saying, you know what, I'm rolling with it. He's going
02:31to continue to cover, he's going to continue to win or saying, nope, this is the change
02:34where I'm going to fade him every time. I'm going to fade the team because too many people
02:37are buying into pass results with a different sample size from a different team. And I'm
02:43going to just fade a minute. I'm going to take all the points I could possibly get on
02:46the other side. And I don't think you should flip-flop from week to week. Oh, he covered,
02:50he didn't cover last week. Therefore, I'm going to take him a couple out. Choose your side
02:53and stick with it for the Giants, at least in the preseason.
02:57Yeah, it's, Sala was also pretty solid in the preseason too. 10, 2, and 1 in the preseason,
03:05he was. You already know McVay wants nothing to do with it. But Zach Taylor, maybe, maybe
03:11there might be something to this. You can't, every year it feels like the Bengals, the first
03:16four games, by the time we make it to October, they're already out of it. They're 1-4, they're
03:220-4. 4-14 straight up, the Bengals are, in the preseason with Zach Taylor as a head coach.
03:30I guess, right? You got to try, you can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results
03:36because they have been terrible. They bury themselves before this evening even gets started.
03:43And Dan Quinn's another guy. Didn't win one preseason game last year. 7-20 as a head coach,
03:50Dan Quinn, in the preseason. Do we trust the Commanders to win some preseason? Nope,
03:55I certainly don't here in any way, shape, or form. No, I would trust a team like the Titans.
04:03And this is highly circumstantial. And maybe this is just, this is digging too deep into things and
04:08it's just conjecture. But Sal, and it has nothing to do with him going up against his former team.
04:13But this is about a new era and, you know, setting the tone and building a culture and those sorts
04:18of
04:19things. So I like to buy into some of those spots where he's going to say, you know, we are
04:23going to
04:23try. We're going to treat this as a real game. We have to come out and instill a new foundation
04:28for
04:29the team, new head coach, not his first time head coach, a young quarterback, all these sorts of
04:34things, and instill that culture in the team. So I wouldn't be willing to, you know, buy into the
04:3949ers or the Rams or some of these older veteran teams that don't really have to prove a whole lot.
04:44I want younger coaches that are trying to turn the page and a new chapter for some of these franchises.
