00:00I guess that's where we'll begin with a game last night that you never would guess with 80 points scored in a football game that could end up being a tie.
00:07That's what happened last night. Packers Cowboys play for the second highest scoring tie in the history of the NFL.
00:1340 to 40. That's right. 40 to 40. Cowboys still can't play defense, but they seem to get their offense going here a little bit.
00:22Josh Jacobs scored a couple of touchdowns for the Packers.
00:25Dak Prescott was fantastic for the Cowboys at home. And here we are. We have our first tie of the season a month in.
00:33Now, that's not exactly where the Packers want to be, which is losing to the Browns last week.
00:37And now tying the Cowboys this week, not a great couple of weeks, says Matt LaFleur.
00:42He didn't come down here to tie a football game, but that's what happened.
00:46It's disappointing in regards to just too many critical mistakes that led to that tie.
00:53I give Dallas credit. They did a great job offensively, you know, moving the ball down the field.
00:59But there's a lot of things that we all have to clean up, starting with myself.
01:03I mean, we're trying to be aggressive at the end of the half, and that really bit us in the butt.
01:10Yeah, I mean, I think we moved the ball. You know, that's what you want to do.
01:13You moved the ball well.
01:13I think we, you know, I think the sad part is we didn't be able to take any shots right there to the end zone until that last play, you know, which is tough.
01:22You know, I think we had a good play called, and they, you know, didn't play the way we thought they were going to play like they did the play before that.
01:28So, you know, I think there's a lot of stuff that we still have to clean up, you know, just throwing the ball inbounds and a running clock situation right there.
01:35So there's stuff that we've got to figure out and be better at right there in that situation.
01:40Meanwhile, the Cowboys will take that tie.
01:43They were six-and-a-half-point underdogs going into the game.
01:45Meanwhile, head coach Brian Schottenheimer has been a coach around the NFL for over a decade.
01:50And his dad, of course, is head coach.
01:52He's seen a lot of football over the last 20, 30 years and says last night was one of the more unique experiences of his career.
01:59A lot of games for me in the NFL.
02:01It's definitely one that I will remember.
02:05And I think I'll remember it because I'm just, I'm so proud of our guys' fight.
02:10But, golly, I wanted them to get that win.
02:12And so I think that's the, that's what I'll take away from it.
02:16I mean, to come in and, you know, play that team.
02:19That's a damn good football team we just played.
02:21And, you know, our guys just battled for 70 minutes and the ebbs and flows.
02:25And so I told them how proud I was of them.
02:29You know, it's a tie.
02:31And I really don't know what to say about that.
02:34Very.
02:34Yeah, I mean, you don't play the game for ties.
02:39I've told you before, I don't care about the stats.
02:42I don't care about the ups and downs, the ebbs and flows.
02:44I just care about the end result and the win.
02:46And so when you don't get that, right now it's tough for me, you know, guess 10 years in the first tie I've been a part of.
02:53It's hard to kind of wrap my head around it because I know I'd feel a hell of a lot worse if it was a loss.
02:56I feel the same way.
03:00Cowboys played well and better not to lose in a game like that in overtime.
03:04Meanwhile, what are the Ravens going to do?
03:06They're 1-3.
03:07They lose yesterday to the Chiefs.
03:09They also lose Lamar Jackson with a hamstring issue.
03:11Cooper Rush came into the game.
03:13Couldn't really do a heck of a lot.
03:15They did get a late touchdown in this one.
03:16They were 2.5-point favorites, but the Chiefs seemingly back on track, especially offensively.
03:21Patrick Mahomes with four touchdowns in this one.
03:23And he spoke about it after the game.
03:25I think guys just, they executed well.
03:26And the offensive line blocked extremely well.
03:28And when that happens, you can get the football out and let guys make plays.
03:32And we had a good job as far as scheme.
03:34I knew where to throw the ball on time.
03:37And other than a few plays, I think at the beginning of the game, I thought we did a great job of executing the whole day.
03:42Yeah, I mean, obviously when you have success, it's just we've been working extremely hard.
03:46And we want to have success.
03:47And we've been just making little mistakes here and there.
03:50And that causes frustration.
03:51But at the same time, we've been learning from them.
03:53And we'll learn from this game.
03:55I mean, I think early in the game, you saw the one that Juju got tipped at the line of scrimmage.
03:58And then the other field goal that we had.
04:01I mean, there's stuff that you can learn from every game, win or loss.
04:03And I think I've been proud of the guys and how they've responded.
04:06And it wouldn't be even better every single week.
04:09A few bad beats, of course, over the weekend in football.
04:11It's the way it works.
04:12One of them is if you had the Colts plus three and a half.
04:15Not only did they not win this game, they lost 27-20 on a late 80-yard touchdown pass
04:21that gave the Rams the win and the cover.
04:23Also, Adonai Mitchell, wide receiver on the Colts, appeared to score a touchdown,
04:28but flipped the ball up before he got to the end zone for a touchback.
04:31Tough scene for the Colts in this one.
04:33They deserved a little bit better.
04:34But the Rams right now, one of the best teams in the NFC.
04:37Here's Matthew Stafford on the victory.
04:38Yeah, I mean, I'm just trying to throw the ball where the coverage dictates.
04:41Our guys do a hell of a job of winning.
04:43And, you know, I'm lucky to play quarterback with this group of skilled guys
04:46and really the guys up front.
04:48It's a whole lot of fun.
04:50You know, there were some lean moments there in the third, early in the fourth,
04:53where, frankly, they did a nice job of, you know, kind of affecting what we were trying to do.
04:59Obviously, got the big turnover.
05:00What a job by our defense right there, holding them to three.
05:05And, you know, then we were able to kind of get going again.
05:07So, total team effort today.
05:09But it definitely, it's definitely nice.
05:11You know, we got guys that can win at all levels of the defense
05:14and make plays after the catch, which is awesome.
05:17Eagles improved to 4-0.
05:20They were up big in the first half.
05:21Bucs came back 31-25 the final.
05:24Also, the first game on Sunday morning was in Dublin.
05:27And Eric Rodgers and the Steelers in a wild one end up beating the Vikings 24-21.
05:32Biggest upset in the weekend, perhaps, was at the Meadowlands
05:35as the Giants, behind Jackson Dart, pull off the win 21-18 against the Los Angeles Chargers,
05:42who were six-and-a-half-point favorites in the game.
05:44Jackson Dart, a winner after the game, will always remember this moment.
05:49Yeah, it was just a football game.
05:50I think that's just the best way to describe it.
05:52But, you know, obviously this experience was a special one, you know, being my first one.
06:00And I'm just grateful to have the guys around me that I had.
06:05You know, I obviously want to give a big shout-out to Russ.
06:09You know, I know that this week probably wasn't the easiest thing.
06:12But he handled it like a professional and just was a mentor for me.
06:17So, you know, obviously I just have a ton of respect for him.
06:20And it goes for Jameis as well, just getting me prepared for this week.
06:23And, you know, really just proud of the guys being able to battle through some adversity
06:28throughout the game.
06:30And, you know, it's not always going to be the cleanest,
06:33but I was just happy that we were able to come out to win.
06:35All right.
06:37Now, one of the bigger events over the weekend,
06:39if you were locked into football and some baseball,
06:41had to be the Ryder Cup.
06:42Of course, Team Europe was fantastic the first couple of days.
06:47They end up surviving a scare to take home the championship.
06:50Congratulations to them, but not congratulations to the fans.
06:54And, Beth Page, what was going on with all of the heckling over the weekend?
06:58Rory McIlroy addressed it after Team Europe's win.
07:01No, this should not be what is acceptable in the Ryder Cup.
07:05But, you know, we will be making sure to say to our fans in Ireland in 2027
07:11that, you know, what happened here this week is not acceptable.
07:17And it's, you know, for me, it's, you know, come and support your home team.
07:23You know, come and support your team.
07:25You know, I think if I was an American, I would be annoyed that people,
07:29I didn't hear a lot of shouts for Scotty today,
07:32but I heard a lot of shouts against me.
07:34And it's like, support your players.
07:38Major League Baseball postseason begins tomorrow.
07:41First game of the day will be Tigers-Guardians as they battle again in the same division
07:45and now have to fight it out for advancing to the division series.
07:49But everyone will be watching, of course, Yankees-Red Sox.
07:51Actually, a wild card round this year in the American League.
07:54Padres and Cubs will start off at Wrigley, play those three games there.
07:58And the Cincinnati Reds qualified for the playoffs with the New York Mets falling on their face this weekend.
08:04Reds at Dodgers begins tomorrow night.
