00:00but let's get started with last night's exciting finish in monday night football the jacksonville

00:04jaguars come all the way back and end up beating the kansas city chiefs how about this one final

00:1031 to 28 trevor lawrence final play of the offense ends up fumbling basically over his feet so the

00:19ball doesn't come out he falls down gets up falls down again and then runs in for the game winning

00:24score great game for trevor lawrence by the way he was the star of this one uh chance at the end of

00:30the game i would say for kansas city kind of thin but the jaguars get it done so they cover that three

00:36and a half point spread also went out right they improved to four and one on the season here's

00:41liam cohen on the signature win for his team yeah really that's the the theme i think and that was

00:47what we talked about as a team although we would like to make things very interesting and uh it

00:53wasn't perfect by any means but the resiliency is really what i think uh this team has and has

01:00continued to show there was really no flinch or blink and you're down 14 nothing i think early on we might

01:07have had a little bit of bright eyes and in a kind of big game that you know you can understand a little

01:12bit in some ways but got down early uh made an effort to come back the guy stuck with it halftime

01:19uh devin lloyd shows up again with a huge play uh really took all three phases i thought all three

01:25phases really impacted the game um you know a ton of stuff to correct but the the toughness

01:32and resiliency is really something i'm proud of meanwhile the chiefs committed 13 penalties in last

01:38night's game that really was the difference because they out gained jacksonville in the game but

01:43andy reed says that doesn't really matter my hat goes off to jacksonville they did a nice job

01:48uh we we obviously had uh 13 penalties to their four whether i agree with them or don't agree with

01:56them it doesn't matter they called them and so uh you have that many penalties you give a field

02:00position you can outstat them to death uh but it doesn't matter it's the score that matters and

02:06uh we've got to take care of business there so uh obviously it sucks you know you you let a game

02:12slip away um credit to them they played hard and they played hard the entire game and they got a

02:17lot of good football players um and they they they closed out there at the end and so um it still

02:22sucks whenever you get a lead like that and you know you're not able to hold it through the rest of

02:25the game meanwhile in major league baseball the milwaukee brewers take a commanding 2-0 lead in

02:31their best of seven series in the national league division series against the chicago cubs lots of home

02:37runs by the brew crew contreras vaughn and more seven to three the final that's been the story

02:43for the brewers all season long timely hitting and using the long ball to get ahead and now certainly

02:49the brewers have put themselves in a position to advance with a couple of more wins pat murphy

02:55manager of the brewers says sometimes home runs are simply created by the pitching take a listen

03:00that's anytime you know home runs are thrown um they're not they're not created you know i mean

03:06they're thrown and you know we took advantage of that and um sometimes that happens for us during

03:14the season sometimes we have to win other ways but the key is you got to find a way and if you have

03:21different ways to win if you just rely on one thing it's it's harder to win so i'm really pleased we

03:27did i mean vaughn's home run and then and then uh contraris and cheerios homers i mean was the

03:35difference in the game um yeah i mean look they had we made a couple mistakes with multiple runners

03:42on base and after after getting off to a great start um you know those mistakes for two three run

03:50homers is going to be you're not going to win playoff games giving up two three on homers that was

03:54just too much to overcome meanwhile red october not going the phillies way to say the least they lose

04:02four to three yesterday dodgers do hang on to win this game and as i mentioned la has a commanding

04:07lead who would have thought they would go into the city of brotherly love and pick up the first two

04:12wins but good job by them and it's kind of fair to say at this point that the phillies with all that

04:17home field advantage that they've had over the years hasn't really amounted to much when they've

04:20gotten into the postseason they've lost to a number of teams and have yet to win a world series

04:25behind their home crowd here's freddie freeman on talking about going to philly and picking up both

04:32wins it was a surprise apparently to him i mean i think we were just sitting at the uh our locker as

04:37i was getting dressed and kiku goes we just took two here this is a hard place to play uh an incredible

04:42fan base it is loud here uh for us to to come out here i think we were like like get one and then

04:50obviously when we won uh two days ago that's when you know we try to gun home and get get two out of

04:54here this is a hard place to play we obviously put ourselves in great position going into wednesday

05:00uh hats off to our starting pitching again well you know i'll have probably a little meeting with

05:05them on on wednesday but uh i love the fight in the eighth and ninth inning um they fought like hell

05:12and and hopefully that carries over into wednesday um but this is a resilient group our backs are

05:18against the wall um you just got to come out fighting go back to matt will ranger start game

05:24three it'll be aaron nola with ranger behind him so those two starters in a do or die situation for

05:31philadelphia today game three between the mariners and detroit tigers a little bit of late afternoon

05:37baseball 408 eastern and then 808 eastern tonight the toronto blue jays will take on the new york

05:42yankees in new york with the blue jays leading that series 2-0 carlos rodon and shane bieber the

05:48starters there logan gilbert starts for seattle jack flaherty starts for detroit in the nfl things have

05:54not gone well at quarterbacks since losing joe burrow cincinnati bengals trying to figure this out will

05:59they go back to jake browning or pick somebody else up today they released mike white off the

06:04practice squad which indicates they're ready to bring another quarterback in who that is remains

06:08to be seen and here's zach taylor on what that may look like moving forward we'll see where it goes you

06:14know it's i think like all personnel decisions um we got to evaluate it jake's been very accountable

06:19for how the game went for him i've got to be accountable for how the game went for me as well

06:23and so we'll continue to progress here through the days when would you want that to be finalized

06:30going for a game like when do you got when you need to have a guy obviously these are things that

06:33we talk about every single monday and tuesday so um we'll evaluate a lot of positions i think

06:39finding more opportunities for our playmakers to get the ball you know and finding ways to get them

06:43easy touches that they can lead to productivity in our offense we haven't been productive enough

06:48um i i don't worry about statistics right now i care about wins that's that's all i worry about

06:53but at the same time i know that we've got to get more productivity and that's more opportunity

06:58from a lot of our key guys on offense to be able to get the ball in the end zone and that's that's me

07:02finding the the cleanest ways to get them the ball so they can impact the game thank you

07:07los angeles chargers don't need a quarterback but it looks like they'll need a running back as

07:12omarion hampton was placed on injured reserve they've also lost naji harris for the season

07:17as of right now jim harbaugh has kimani vidal and hassan haskins in the backfield here's harbaugh

07:23on the injury to ham uh he's gonna miss time uh ankle injury um we will put him on ir to return

07:32so he'll miss at least four games and then uh he'll return as soon as he can after that

07:38uh ankle um hassan haskins uh kamani vidal um and we'll uh omar johnson's on

07:52practice squad and we'll look to uh um at other avenues as well

07:58new while the lions have lost terry and arnold for a long period of time cornerback on the

08:04detroit lions and jj mccarthy will start getting back on the field

08:08carson wentz has an injury to his shoulder but the vikings are on a bye so they won't need

08:13either of them this week
