00:00Well, let's flip it over to the NFL, a game that's going to kick off at 1 o'clock.
00:03The Miami Dolphins picked up their first win of the season,
00:05taking on the lowly Carolina Panthers here.
00:08Now, it looks like they'll be without Chuba Hubbard.
00:09The line in this game opened up at 1.5, still sitting at most outlets at 1.5
00:13as a favorite towards Miami.
00:15The total, 44.5.
00:16Miami, Carolina, Joe.
00:18What's the spread line here?
00:20Well, I mean, this flipped, right?
00:21So Carolina was originally the favorite, and now all of a sudden,
00:25Miami is the favorite.
00:27And we got a ton of injuries on Carolina in this one as well.
00:32But keep in mind, Donnie, I mean, Carolina last week on the road against New England
00:36gets crushed.
00:37But you know what they did last time they were home?
00:40They shut out a pretty good Atlanta Falcons offense, didn't they?
00:43And dropped 30 points on that defense.
00:47So to expect the Dolphins at this point now to, yes, okay, congratulations,
00:52you beat the Jets.
00:53So you got a short week.
00:55Now you got to travel in a game that everyone seems to think is very winnable for you.
01:00A lot of jobs and a lot of careers are on the line in this game for Carolina.
01:05If you can get the 1.5 with the home team and a six-point teaser,
01:09that might not be a bad look for this one, Donnie.
01:124.05 start on Sunday afternoon.
01:14The Tennessee Titans, who don't play very well, according to the quarterback here,
01:18taking on the Arizona Cardinals.
01:19This line opened up around a touchdown.
01:21Now we're seeing 8.5s and 7.5s, some differentiating numbers,
01:24depending on where you're shopping.
01:26A total of 41.5.
01:27Tennessee and Arizona, Joe, the spread line here is what?
01:31This is laughable how historically bad this offense of Tennessee is here.
01:38What I'm also starting to see, Donnie, in the marketplace
01:41is you might as well just start fading the Tennessee team total
01:45because this offense is horrific.
01:49And from what we're hearing, not getting better anytime soon.
01:53Can't be trusted in any way, shape, or form.
01:57Cardinals all the way in this one.
01:58I think the key word that was used by Cam Ward was ass.
02:02That's their offense right now and the way they're playing.
02:04Yeah.
02:04We'll see if that continues this weekend,
02:06but things aren't looking up and up in that direction.
02:08What happened last night in that Thursday night football game?
02:11What was Max Jones wearing after the game?
02:13We'll cover that and much, much more right here on the Early Line.
02:16Early Line, hour number one in full effect right here.
02:19What a big weekend we have.
02:20It's a football Friday, and we have some guests here
02:22that we have to get to.
02:23It's Sonny Wright's out as well as long with the ride.
02:26It's Joe Ranieri.
02:27And now we have Tom Vecchio joining us.
02:29The energy you know is going to be high.
02:30We saw a crazy Thursday night football game.
02:32A wonderful Major League Baseball to play.
02:34And this weekend, even better Major League Baseball.
02:37Even more NCAA football and more NFL football, Tom.
02:40It's a good time to be out here, isn't it?
02:42It is.
02:43My Yankees advanced last night.
02:45That's always good to see.
02:46As your football last night didn't really go as I was expecting.
02:51Wasn't really anticipating that many points for the 49ers.
02:54But we've got a full Sunday slate that starts early
02:57with that overseas London game.
03:00It does start early.
03:01That's Carson Wentz and Dylan Gabriel, people.
03:039.30 a.m.
03:05Make sure you're tuning in here to the Sports Grid Network here.
03:07Pro Football today will be live for an extra hour here,
03:10making sure we cover that overseas game.
03:12There are other games here on the homeland.
03:13This includes 1 o'clock.
03:15Who would have thought?
03:16Just a few short weeks ago, hey, I'm going to give you a little hint here.
03:18Boy, the Texans really stink at this point right now.
03:21Man, Ravens are on top of the world.
03:23Why are they getting points here in a football game against the Texans?
03:26Why?
03:27Because nobody feels like they're playing for the Baltimore Ravens.
03:30Cooper Rush is going to get the start over Lamar Jackson.
03:32And I think you have an edge on this game.
03:34Houston versus Baltimore.
03:35Tom, what are we doing here?
03:37Yeah, this is a really interesting game.
03:39The Texans offense is terrible.
03:42The Baltimore Ravens defense is terrible.
03:44As I, you know, joked about the other day,
03:46like this is when a movable object meets a stoppable force.
03:50It's like we know exactly what we should be getting.
03:52So, obviously, Lamar Jackson not expected to play.
03:54Cooper Rush is going to be in there.
03:56You know, I really expect the Ravens to turn to Derek Henry in the backfield.
04:00So, if we look at the Ravens' offensive line stats,
04:02they are number one in the league in yards before contact per carry.
04:06Number one in the league.
04:07They're dominating the line of scrimmage.
04:09Then when we turn to the Texans' defense, at least,
04:11right now they are third when it comes to EPA per pass lab.
04:14They are phenomenal in defense.
04:15We know that.
04:16Their defense has not been the issue for them.
04:19So, I don't think Cooper Rush dropping at a high volume should be the Ravens' game plan.
04:24I think they want to try and eke out a win 17-14, 20-17, whatever it might be.
04:30So, let's go to Cooper Rush under 171.5 passing yards.
04:34Let's take it under 172.5.
04:35I did see it up there as well on a different book.
04:38Under that, again, give the ball to Derek Henry.
04:40Control the game.
04:41Try to come away with the win.
04:43It doesn't matter how pretty or how ugly it is.
04:45You just need the win to get back on the right track.
04:47Should be an interesting backup quarterback, again, that we've got to look at.
04:54It seems like we're talking about a lot of backup quarterbacks, doesn't it?
04:57But what is going on?
04:59And, you know, years over the last couple of years,
05:02I thought Browning was actually a serviceable backup,
05:05but he's been kind of put into this ridiculous spot of you got no offensive line,
05:11you can't run the ball, and now you're going to ask him to drop back and throw.
05:14How many times, Tom, what are we going to get this week from Browning?
05:18I would hope that it's better than what we saw over the past two weeks.
05:21And like you said, over the past few years,
05:23I actually thought he was, like, at least halfway decent.
05:25Like, you could actually go out there and put up some yards.
05:27You may not be in the spot to win games with him on a consistent basis,
05:31but he could give you 252.
05:33Maybe he throws a pick or whatever.
05:34That's what I thought we were going to be getting from him.
05:36This year, I'm not really sure.
05:38So, I like him under 33.5 passing attempts,
05:40and it really has to do more so about the Lions on the other side.
05:45They're going to be out in front.
05:47And also, the Lions, they're running the ball at nearly 45% of the time.
05:52And with the running backs that they have with Gibbs and Montgomery,
05:54they're just going to be bleeding the clock.
05:55So, as soon as they get up, you're going to need, what,
05:5834 pass attempts from Browning to get over.
06:00If they have a 60, 65 pass play percentage in that game,
06:04they're still going to be having 20-some-odd runs.
06:06You're expecting the offense to run nearly 60 plays,
06:08and they're going to be turning the ball into Browning's hands.
06:10I just don't see that happening.
06:12The Lions are eventually going to be up by 10 or 14 points,
06:14and they're going to bleed the clock out in this game.
06:17And it doesn't matter how bad Browning is.
06:18I just don't think he'll have the attempts.
06:21You know, it's another option on that, too,
06:23when you look at Jake Browning's under 33.5.
06:25You're also talking about he hasn't played well for two weeks.
06:28There's a chance that if they are getting blown out in this game, Tom,
06:31midway through the third quarter, he's not even the quarterback
06:33because they want to start getting looks at some other guys on the roster.
06:35So, I think that opinion makes sense
06:37because most people would say, like, wait a second, Tom.
06:38They're going to get blown out.
06:39It's going to throw 15 times in the fourth quarter.
06:41Tom, he might not even be the quarterback in the fourth quarter.
06:44It's true.
06:45And, frankly, Jared Goff may not be the quarterback in the fourth quarter.
06:49Their backup, is it still Hendon Hooker for Detroit?
06:53Or I don't know if he's still there.
06:54But, like, there's a realistic scenario
06:56that we have 60, 70-plus yards on both running backs.
07:00Goff throws for 215, and they put up three, four touchdowns,
07:04and the Bengals just can't do anything on offense.
07:06So, they just pull all the starters.
07:08Mike White.
07:09How about Mike White, Joe Ranieri, getting in that football game, huh?
07:11Come on now.
07:13Oh, don't.
07:14Like, don't.
07:14Please, under any circumstances.
07:16But I will say this.
07:18They're no good on the road, Cincinnati,
07:20but their only game this year they've been halfway decent
07:23and covered on is against Jacksonville at home.
07:26So, it's going to be interesting to see maybe a little home cooking.
07:28Yeah, yeah.
07:30Browning played in that game.
07:31Because that was Jags when Burrow got hurt.
07:33So, if there's anything that you want to, like, latch onto,
07:37that would be it with Browning.
07:39Let's take a look at Miami and Carolina.
07:40Chuba Hubbard looks like he's not going to make it to the starting gate there
07:43with a calf injury.
07:44But I'll tell you right now, Devon H.
07:45will be there going up against a poorest defense there
07:48for the Carolina Panthers.
07:49Total 45-and-a-half.
07:51How do we attack the Miami Dolphins side of things?
07:54So, I want to say this is a spot to back the Dolphins,
07:57A, because I think the Panthers are terrible.
07:59The Dolphins, you know, I want to say this started
08:02on the Thursday night game against Buffalo,
08:05where everyone, oh, they're dead in the water.
08:07Buffalo's going to blow them out.
08:09There's no chance.
08:09Like, the Dolphins look pretty good in that game.
08:11Like, they did.
08:12I know they lost, but they put up some points.
08:14They beat the Jets.
08:15They look good.
08:16Obviously, the Tyreek injury is massive for their offense.
08:19You know, a chance coming off a slow receiving game.
08:21But, you know, how do you at least build some internal confidence?
08:25You know, it's like, okay, we're not out of it yet
08:27just because we lost Tyreek Hill.
08:28It's like, let's just get the players moving on offense.
08:30Let's put up some guards.
08:31And I think that's where A-Chan comes into play.
08:33He's in for a bounce-back game.
08:34The Panthers' defense is not what I'm worried about.
08:36When you look at the passing offense for the Dolphins now,
08:39A-Chan still has over 20% targets here.
08:41And that was before, obviously, you know,
08:44accounting for the games that Tyreek Hill played.
08:45That should only be increasing with Tyreek Hill out now.
08:48All right.
08:49Let's get some quick Major League Baseball updates here.
08:51You are a Yankees fan.
08:53No question about it.
08:53You're a Tom.
08:54Yankees Blue Jays setting up 4-0-8 on Saturday.
08:57How are we feeling?
08:58I'm feeling good.
08:59I assume it's going to be Gossman and Freed
09:01since just based on where the things stand.
09:05I would certainly be looking to take Freed under strikeouts.
09:08And I'll be backing the Blue Jays a lot.
09:10I'll be backing the Blue Jays in the first five with their pitching
09:12just as a pure emotional hedge.
09:14And then whatever happens, happens.
09:15Three-game series are so tough to handicap because L hands on deck.
09:19The five- and seven-game series, much easier to handicap starting pitchers
09:23expected to pitch multiple innings, not just two innings at this point.
09:27So, a lot of fun.
09:27Tom, thanks for joining us on a Football Friday right here,
09:29giving us the information we need to cash in some tickets this weekend.
09:33Donnie Wright's out of Joe Ranieri.
09:35Don't you go anywhere.
09:37Oh, man.
09:38Well, we're hitting everything, Joe.
09:39Like, we might as well be baseball players,
09:41hitting home run after home run today,
09:42getting the people the information they need.
09:44Tom Vecchio joined us.
09:45Coach Terry Bowden joined us.
09:47We're talking about baseball.
09:48We're talking about NCAA action.
09:49We're talking about the NFL,
09:51which brings us to a nice little slate on Sunday.
09:54Maybe the game of the 1 o'clock hours here
09:56is the Denver Broncos taking on the Philadelphia Eagles.
09:59This line hasn't moved much all week,
10:01between 4.5 to 3.5, depending on where you're shopping at.
10:04But a low total, Joe, of 43.5.
10:08Do you see this as a defensive battle?
10:09Because, quite frankly, I think we're going over in this game.
10:12I do.
10:14Yeah.
10:14Well, I mean, listen, this is a game that is going to be decided
10:17in the trenches, Donnie, without a doubt,
10:21because we know Philadelphia's defense,
10:23the whole identity of it starts up front, right?
10:26With Jalen Carter and Nojomo,
10:28and it's about the pass rush.
10:31So, you know, they got to figure out a way
10:33to be able to run the ball.
10:34I don't know that the best way to do this here
10:37is to have Bo Nix dropping back time again.
10:39And I think they absolutely need to figure out
10:43and stick with running the ball.
10:44And I'm kind of with you.
10:46I think points could be coming here.
10:49I think short fields could be coming.
10:51I don't love the spot for the Eagles coming out of Tampa
10:55and basically going MIA in the second half there.
10:58But listen, Denver has got to prove it.
11:01Yeah.
11:01We know Bo Nix can win at home.
11:03Can he do it on the road?
11:05And is this defense of Denver as good as we think they are?
11:08I think we're going to find out relatively quickly.
11:11I'll tell you, if you do like the under,
11:12you do have two things working in your favor, right, Joe?
11:14Who played on Monday Night Football?
11:15That was the Denver Broncos.
11:16Short work week here traveling to the East Coast,
11:18but also the Eagles.
11:19It takes a lot out of you, man.
11:21When you play in 100-plus degree temperatures
11:23in a game that you're crumbling down the stretch,
11:25who knows who's going to be the more energetic side
11:27to start this game?
11:28But I still do like points more than staying under in this one.
11:32Houston and Baltimore, the question is,
11:33how is it going to be under center?
11:34We think it's going to be Cooper Rush.
11:36Who else is going to play for the Baltimore Ravens?
11:38And the Baltimore Ravens as an underdog.
11:40You'll see the graphic coming up at one and a half.
11:42That's the best of it right now.
11:44Two and a half.
11:44Could we see threes by Sunday as a favorite for Houston?
11:48It's not as if Houston's coming to town.
11:50Joe, I don't care how many injuries Boston has
11:52at three and one or four and oh, whatever it might be.
11:54They won their first game last week
11:56against the lowly Titans.
11:58Come on now.
11:59Is Baltimore going to lose again?
12:01Well, I got to tell you,
12:03to me,
12:04I think the total is the best way to look at this game.
12:07There is no way I am trusting the Texans offense
12:11with all the injuries given on the defensive side
12:14of Baltimore to go on the road
12:15and somehow flip a light switch, Donnie,
12:17and become this offensive juggernaut.
12:19I think this is going to be a rock fight.
12:21I think points are going to be hard to come by.
12:25If I can get 40 and a half in this game,
12:28I don't think we get to 40 points, Donnie.
12:31I think this is going to be a 20 to 14,
12:3617 to 10 kind of game here.
12:38By the way, what is this cryptic tweet I'm seeing here
12:40right now at this point here?
12:41Bleacher Report sent out this.
12:43CJ Stroud said he feels like he's lost some athleticism
12:46as he gets older.
12:47He was watching his high school highlights,
12:48reminiscing on his quickness.
12:50He's 23.
12:51You're supposed to be in the peak.
12:52You tell me right now,
12:53like when I went from high school football
12:55to college football, when I was an 18-year-old,
12:57then I found out what the weight room actually meant
12:59when I was 22 my senior year.
13:01I never looked back and said,
13:02boy, man, I lost some athleticism from 18.
13:04What's this guy talking about?
13:07No, it's not that you lost athleticism, CJ.
13:10It's that you're playing alongside guys
13:13that are better than you, and that's the difference.
13:16You're not playing Kennesaw State
13:18every week.
13:20So, you know, you're playing guys that,
13:22yeah, they are every bit, if not more,
13:25athletic than you.
13:26So, it's not that you're getting older.
13:29It's just you're not as good as you thought you were.
13:32Man, what a cold-hearted reality right there.
13:34That's not like a caffeinated Joe segment
13:36on the horizon for maybe Monday or Tuesday
13:38after they get beat by the Baltimore Ravens.
13:40Wow, that one away.
13:41How about this?
13:42Overseas, Carson Wentz is going to be there,
13:44filling Gabriel.
13:45By the way, if it was Carson Wentz again
13:47on a Vikings game early morning
13:49going up against Joe Flack,
13:50I'm like, you know what?
13:51I might sleep in for this one.
13:52I gotta tell you, I like this game again,
13:54and it's still a favorite for the Minnesota Vikings
13:56at three and a half to four and a half,
13:57depending on where you're shopping at.
13:58But the total, Joe, 35 and a half.
14:01What is this, Army, Navy?
14:02Well, it clearly favors the Vikings
14:06because they have been there now for two weeks,
14:08and they volunteered for this opportunity
14:11to go back-to-back in London.
14:13So now we've seen this before,
14:16teams that have had time to adjust their internal clocks,
14:19to play over there, that stayed there.
14:22They've done pretty well in that second game.
14:24The problem is we have absolutely no idea
14:27who's on the offensive line for the Vikings.
14:29Everybody is hurt.
14:31Darasaw's not.
14:32That might be the only saving grace here.
14:35But my goodness, that's such a low total, Donnie.
14:37It really, really is in this game.
14:40By the way, also, like, Dylan Gabriel,
14:42like, what's the expectations for this game
14:43for Dylan Gabriel?
14:44I wonder if he performs well.
14:46Like, is he going to be the starter
14:46the rest of the year,
14:47or is it going to be a merry-go-round?
14:48Like, ah, we're just going to play the guy
14:50we feel gives us the best chance this week.
14:52Something to keep an eye on.
14:53Also, let's take a look at Jet Cowboys
14:56coming up right after the break.
14:57Dallas and the New York Jets.
15:01Ooh, boy.
15:02Dallas looking to resurrect their season
15:05after a tie against the Green Bay Packers
15:07and the Jets with a moral victory that said,
15:08hey, we could still move the football
15:10and offense with Justin Fields.
15:11This line opened up, Joe,
15:13minus two and a half,
15:14and now a total sits at 47 and a half.
15:16We're going to take a look now
15:17and hear why Justin Fields feels like
15:19maybe we're around the corner
15:20from winning some football games,
15:22but, hey, I'm making some money.
15:23All's good.
15:28I mean, we're blessed at the end of the day.
15:31You look at the bigger picture in life,
15:33you know, we're getting paid well
15:36to play a child's sport,
15:37so I think that's one.
15:38You know, just, like I said,
15:40just looking at the bigger picture,
15:41no matter what everybody goes through,
15:44at least this is my mindset,
15:45no matter what I go through in this game,
15:47I'm always going to keep a positive mindset
15:48just because I know how blessed I am,
15:50but in kind of other terms,
15:52what I think you're looking for is,
15:54you know, like I said,
15:55up the game Sunday,
15:56you know, we've lost three games by one score,
15:59so I think, you know,
16:00that's a positive to look at,
16:01and I think if we clean up,
16:02you know, turnovers, penalties,
16:04that's definitely going to put us
16:05in a better position to secure those wins
16:07instead of, you know,
16:08saying we're close and this and that,
16:10but just, you know, focusing on us,
16:13not necessarily our opponents,
16:15but fixing everything that we can
16:16to put ourselves in the best position to win.
16:18Jets are at that stage, Joe.
16:21We're losing as a positive.
16:22Help me out.
16:24Yeah, well, let's talk about the Cowboys first here.
16:28The Cowboys had last week,
16:31they were down two offensive,
16:33starting offensive linemen.
16:34Looks like they're going to be down
16:35a possible third one heading into this game,
16:38and the good news for the Jets
16:39is Jermaine Johnson could be back on the field for him,
16:43and he is the legit Jets edge rusher here
16:46that could get to the quarterback
16:48and put some pressure on him.
16:50Listen, there is no way you can try.
16:52This Cowboys defense is absolutely horrific.
16:55Even Justin Fields would be able to make them,
16:57you know, pay for it with the soft zone they play.
17:00So to me, I think points are coming in this game.
17:04I love the over in this spot here.
17:06I don't trust either team's defense
17:09to be able to get anything done,
17:10and both offenses have shown
17:12they can pick apart some soft defenses here.
17:15So why not?
17:16Give me the over in this spot.
17:19Let's expect a good old-fashioned shootout here
17:22with Dallas and the Jets, of all things.
17:24Yeah, give me 50 yards on the ground
17:26out of Justin Fields.
17:27Give me 70 out of Brees.
17:28Give me about, you know, buck 10,
17:30or I should have to say 210 in the air.
17:32Yeah, we should be able to get after
17:32because Dak Prescott will move the football
17:34against that New York Jets defense.
17:36Should be good, but also good weather
17:37in the Meadowlands this weekend
17:38on that Sunday afternoon.
17:40The Giants, who do play in the Meadowlands,
17:42won't be in the Meadowlands this weekend.
17:43They'll be down in New Orleans to take on
17:45the New Orleans Saints and Spencer Rattler.
17:47Slight favorite right now for the New Orleans Saints
17:49and a total listed at 41 and a half.
17:51All those good vibes for Jackson Dart
17:53in start number one.
17:54Can they continue, Joe, in start number two for Dart?
17:58Yeah, it's going to be interesting here, right?
18:01Because he just went up against a Chargers defense
18:04that doesn't give up a whole lot,
18:07and now he's going up against a Saints defense
18:09that does give up a whole lot of plays here.
18:13So what are we going to get?
18:15I think the game plan is the most important thing here for Dart.
18:18I think the Saints offense has been way more run heavy
18:21as of late here.
18:23I think they did a great job,
18:24showed some moxie going up against Buffalo there in Buffalo,
18:28but ultimately Buffalo too talented too much.
18:31I think this game is going to be close.
18:34I mean, call me crazy.
18:35I don't trust the Saints coming home after that Buffalo game to win it,
18:40but I do think points might be coming here.
18:42I would not be shocked if we get an over 41,
18:4541 and a half points in this game.
18:48Wondell's going to be showing up here.
18:50Cam Scadaboo running through people's faces.
18:52Hey, it could happen down in New Orleans this weekend.
18:55Let's take a look at a game at Indy.
18:56That's going to be the Vegas Raiders going from Vegas to Indy this weekend.
18:59Geno Smith, he'll throw some touchdowns,
19:01also throw some interceptions,
19:02but the offense is certainly cruising for the Indianapolis Colts.
19:06Should have been if they just didn't have so many mistakes last week
19:09against the Los Angeles Rams.
19:10They're looking to rectify those mistakes.
19:12And also that key number, Joe,
19:13sitting six and a half sometimes,
19:15seven and a half at other outlets as well,
19:1747 and a half as a total.
19:19I like this Indy Colts team, man.
19:21I do think they'll be able to handle their business.
19:23The question though is if you want to lay the touchdown or not, Joe.
19:26Yeah, well, the defense of the Colts took a little bit of a hit.
19:32No nickelback Kenny Moore for this game.
19:36The offensive line for Geno took a hit there.
19:39Colton Miller, his starting left guard,
19:41is not going to be in this game.
19:44Indy shot themselves in the foot.
19:46They get to come home.
19:48Listen, you know, Vegas has been selling out to stop the run.
19:52That has been their defensive game plan
19:54because their secondary is atrocious.
19:56They're coming after Danny Dives.
19:58Can he take advantage of it?
20:00I think.
20:01To me, this is another over.
20:03You know, Geno's going to sling it around.
20:04They're going to do their best to take advantage of the holes
20:07in the secondary of Indy.
20:09Indoors, no weather issues.
20:10Give me another over here.
20:12You know, I think this lands in the 50s
20:14when it's all said and done.
20:16Something to keep an eye on too.
20:17Brock Bowers, who again,
20:18one of the more dominating young tight ends in the sport,
20:21gets banged.
20:22Number one, hasn't been the same.
20:23Struggling to get through practices.
20:25Didn't practice yesterday.
20:26Maybe it's just a rest day,
20:27but also playing on turf this weekend.
20:30That's never fun when you have a knee injury
20:32or trying to baby a certain injury situation.
20:34Something to keep an eye on.
20:35They don't have Brock Bowers at 100%.
20:37That certainly could be a deficit for them
20:39going up against the Colts here.
20:41Keep it moving.
20:41The Dolphins and the Panthers.
20:42We talked a little about this game earlier
20:44when we went over some spread lines
20:45to a Tiger by Lowa versus Bryce Young.
20:4744 and a half is a total.
20:49The favorite for Miami at minus one and a half.
20:51But Chuba Hubbard, not expected to play.
20:53Maybe the best offensive weapon here.
20:55And from what we saw out of Mr. Young last week,
20:58man, is this a Dolphins Sunday game?
21:01Maybe.
21:03Short week at Dolphins, a favorite on the road.
21:06I bet, but Carolina, think about it.
21:09They traded Thielen to the Vikings
21:10before the season starts, right?
21:13Why?
21:13Because they had their young wide receiver
21:15in jail and Coker that they loved.
21:17The problem is, as soon as they traded Thielen,
21:18he ended up getting a quad injury the next day
21:21and he's been out since.
21:23So, David Moore was just placed on the IR.
21:25That was their other wide receiver.
21:28Now they're tight end.
21:29Sanders is out with it.
21:31This part, more Bryce Young's literally
21:33got nobody to throw to.
21:34Again, we just saw this with the 49ers.
21:37This is a different Carolina team on the road
21:40than what we've seen at home.
21:42I think their back is up against the wall.
21:44I don't trust Miami being a favorite anywhere.
21:48I do think Carolina getting a point and a half
21:50is absolutely viable in a six-point teaser this week.
21:54How about this?
21:55Does it change the venue here for Tennessee?
21:57If they're good at home, they're good away.
21:59Or as their quarterback says,
22:00they're ass at home and ass on the road.
22:02Take a look at this one.
22:03Ward versus Mary.
22:05And we don't even love Arizona,
22:06but they are over a touchdown favorite.
22:08You're sitting at minus eight and a half
22:09and a total 41 and a half.
22:11You said 41 and a half.
22:12Arizona's going to score some points.
22:14Yeah, but is Tennessee going to get
22:15any first downs in this game, Joe?
22:17Oh, yes.
22:19They are totally, I mean, they are awful, Donnie.
22:23And they could be, there is a chance
22:25this could be a historically bad offense
22:28over the last decade here.
22:30I mean, they're only averaging 17 yards per possession, Donnie.
22:34They can't even get first downs.
22:36I mean, they are absolutely horrific here.
22:39And I don't see it getting any better in this spot here.
22:43Although there are some injury issues here
22:46also with Arizona that we need to keep in mind.
22:50So they are a little bit banged up as well here.
22:53But ultimately, there's nothing redeeming
22:56about this offense here for Tennessee.
22:59I got a lot of guys I know looking to back
23:02the team total under for Tennessee.
23:06They're either going to lose by 20
23:08or this thing's going to be some sort of wild shootout.
23:10It's one or the other, Donnie, here in this game.
23:12I reminisce, I reminisce.
23:14How about Baker Mayfield reminiscing
23:16about him and Sam Darnold here?
23:17How about this clip from the Carolina days?
23:20Reminisce about the good old days in Carolina?
23:23What are you talking about?
23:25Reminisce about what days?
23:28Good old days in Carolina.
23:30Oh, nope.
23:32No, we don't.
23:35Escape from Carolina is what good quarterbacks do.
23:37Sam Darnold, he's loving life now.
23:39So is Baker Mayfield.
23:40They're going to tee it up in the Pacific Northwest
23:42as a three-point favorite towards Seattle in this game.
23:45A total of 44 and a half.
23:46Never count Baker Mayfield out as the dog.
23:50You can't, Donnie.
23:51I mean, he's been too good as a dog.
23:53He's been absolute money as a dog with this Bucs team.
23:57And listen, the Seahawks,
23:59they're a little bit vulnerable if they can't run the ball.
24:03And we know Tampa's defense, they're going to stop the run.
24:07They're going to be pretty good at it here.
24:09I think Tampa, they're a live dog here, Donnie.
24:13Cincinnati, run for cover.
24:16The Lions are coming to town.
24:18We'll talk about that game next right here on The Early Line.
24:21You know, in the movie The Program,
24:22which was a fantastic movie in the 1990s,
24:24dealt with college football.
24:25A little bit of the inflated side of it,
24:27but still a fun watch nonetheless.
24:29You should check it out.
24:30What they used to say is, you know what?
24:31We're going to put the women and children in the bend
24:32and go out hunting for the boys.
24:34That might be what's happening for the Detroit Lions this weekend
24:37going up against that Cincinnati defense.
24:39My question to you, Joe, is not if Detroit can win this game.
24:43Yes, can they cover the 10 points?
24:44Will this game go over the 48 and a half?
24:46But how many stops is Cincinnati getting?
24:48And also, Mr. Browning, hello, the football season is here.
24:52You're supposed to save the day.
24:53What gives in this one?
24:56Yeah, well, you know, again, be careful here
24:59because this is another situation where recency bias
25:02is going to come into play, right?
25:03So, you know, it's like, oh, boy, this Cincinnati team is terrible.
25:07And yes, they have some issues.
25:10And Detroit, of course, has looked the part once again.
25:14But what are we doing here?
25:16Double digits here on the road outdoors?
25:20And say what you want with Cincinnati.
25:22Listen, the one game that they actually played well enough
25:25and won and covered was at home against Jacksonville,
25:29who also looks pretty good here.
25:30So the value is on Cincinnati.
25:33Make no mistake about it.
25:35Well, listen, will they win the game?
25:38Probably not.
25:39Can they stay within double digits at home?
25:42Yeah, absolutely they can here, Donnie.
25:45Backs are against the wall.
25:46I would expect this team to be better at home as an underdog
25:50than anything on the road at this point with a backup quarterback.
25:53I think this game might be sponsored by the movie
25:56The Smashing Machine that's coming out.
25:58You see those, like, highlights across there with, you know,
26:00The Rock looking like Mark Curl, doesn't look like himself.
26:03This game, they might get smashed in this one,
26:05which means I'm going to be diving in for some good prop bets on that game.
26:08No doubt about it at 425.
26:11You know who else might get some good prop bets?
26:12How about Jane Daniels?
26:13Hey, Val.
26:14Back in the lineup.
26:15Going to take on the Chargers, who ain't looking to bounce back themselves.
26:19They lost to the Giants last week, and they're a little bit injured,
26:22particularly on their offensive line,
26:23but they're still favorites over the Commanders at minus 2.5 in the total
26:26that lists around 47.5 to 46.5, depending on where you're shopping at.
26:31Rusty, Jaden Daniels, Justin Herbert on the comeback tour.
26:34What are we looking at for this game for you, Joe?
26:37Wow, we're looking at a lot of injuries on the offensive line right now, right, Donnie?
26:41I mean, more than anything else, that's the issue here.
26:44I mean, no Joe Ault.
26:48You already lost Slater, so there's a lot of guys mixing and matching
26:52on that front offensive line of the Chargers,
26:55which means you're going to have to rely on Hampton.
26:58You're going to have to try to run the ball.
26:59You're going to have to try to protect Herbert as best as possible.
27:02I think it's a little easier said than done here.
27:06I think McLaurin being sidelined, not great,
27:09but even with McLaurin being sidelined
27:11and you had Marcus Mariota running the offense,
27:13they still put up 27 points last week, so why not?
27:18But we haven't seen the Jaden Daniels of a year ago
27:21in his couple of starts so far this year,
27:24so I'm going to be real interested to see what we get from him here
27:28and how hurt is he, Donnie?
27:30I think that's the other big question.
27:32We'll know, I think, rather quickly against this defense.
27:35Yeah, spray knee.
27:36We're not playing on grass.
27:37You will be on turf here.
27:38We'll see if that acts up at this point,
27:40but certainly something to watch out for.
27:41And also the Friday practice reports coming out.
27:43Teams will clear players.
27:44Teams will tell players, you ain't playing this weekend.
27:46The expectations, Daniels will be under center this weekend.
27:49Icy white uniforms in Buffalo.
27:52Sunday night football rivalry.
27:54New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills.
27:57Like this game, Joe, we're expecting points sitting at 49.5
28:00and a touchdown plus favorite for the Buffalo Bills.
28:04I think May moves the football.
28:05Allen moves the football.
28:07We get a good show on Sunday night football, Joe.
28:09Yeah, I think it'll be a good show, in fact.
28:13And again, Buffalo at this point is, you know,
28:16they're not interested in these monster spreads.
28:18And we talked about it last week.
28:20The look ahead line, Donnie, for this game was 10 and a half.
28:25And we saw, of course, nothing but the bills not being bet.
28:29And the Patriot money come in, putting it all the way down to eight,
28:32maybe even seven and a half.
28:34Listen, anything more than a touchdown,
28:36I feel like you got to take it with New England and Mike Vrabel here.
28:40This is going, it's always a tough battle in the division.
28:43But I don't expect the Patriots to pull off the upset.
28:47But I think if you can get the eight points,
28:49I think you should take the eight points with New England in a spot.
28:52Duval, that's where we're going for Monday Night Football.
28:56Good one here, a battle in the AFC.
28:58The Jacksonville Jaguars taking on and being the home team
29:01against the Kansas City Chiefs who have resurrected their season
29:04and still waiting on some more reserves to come back.
29:07We're looking at you, Rasheed Rice.
29:09They, talking about Kansas City, a favorite show on the road at minus three and a half.
29:14And a total listed at 46 and a half.
29:17Liam and the boys at home.
29:18Can they spring the upset on Monday Night Football?
29:22Well, listen, they're more than capable of doing that.
29:26I mean, you know, they beat the Panthers as expected in week one.
29:30They should have beaten the Bengals in week two there.
29:33They did bounce back.
29:35Nice wins over the Texans and the 49ers.
29:38But again, the unknown here is Kansas City.
29:41Kansas City going on the road, having Worthy back,
29:44much more confidence now in the offense.
29:47I just worry that Trevor Lawrence,
29:49against that defense of Spags in Kansas City,
29:52is going to figure out a way to hand the ball back to Mahomes in Kansas City when he shouldn't.
29:58And that is ultimately what's going to cost them the game.
30:01How about this next game board, Joe?
30:03You want to talk about hypotheticals?
30:04How about the Bengals and the Broncos?
30:06You want to break that game down?
30:07What do you think?
30:08Bengals, Broncos this weekend.
30:09Any thoughts?
30:10I love the Bengals and the Broncos.
30:13Yeah, that should be, I'm going to go tie.
30:16I think that's going to be a tie, Donnie.
30:18That's where I'm going there.
30:20Love the same.
30:20By the way, this weekend, like, it's not a great slate,
30:23but there are some intriguing spots.
30:24Like, Denver and Philadelphia at 1 o'clock.
30:26I, like, Houston, Baltimore might not make anybody's television.
30:29I'm intrigued by that.
30:30Like, Baltimore going to 1-4.
30:32And by the way, Joe,
30:33is there a buy-in point for you on the Baltimore Ravens?
30:35Because we know they're going to probably get these players back,
30:39including Lamar Jackson.
30:40They're playing in a division.
30:41They're still roughly expected to win this year.
30:44What is your buy-in point on the Ravens?
30:45Do you just wait it out or say,
30:47Donnie, I think they can win this game this weekend against the Texans?
30:49Or do you wait until after the game and hope they lose?
30:53Look, to me, the Ravens are another half of that six-point teaser.
30:57You want to give me seven and a half points with the Ravens at home?
31:00I don't care who's playing, Donnie, at that point.
31:02I will take them, and I will use them as half my teasers here this week
31:07because over a touchdown, I'll take the Ravens.
31:10I don't care who's playing.
31:12Yeah, we usually see Snoop Huntley in this situation for the Baltimore Ravens,
31:15but it's going to be Cooper Rush.
31:16And Tom Vecchio was on earlier saying,
31:18Fade that guy this weekend.
31:19I don't know, man.
31:20I'm feeling Ravened up, and I feel like I'm going to get burned,
31:23and maybe I should just stay away and not say,
31:24Man, I can't believe I put my money on Cooper Rush.
31:27But still an interesting circumstance nonetheless.
31:29The 4 o'clock slate there, Tampa Bay, Seattle, love that.
31:32Detroit should be putting up points,
31:33and then a good football game on Sunday night.
31:36It's a football Friday on the SportsCritz Network.
31:38No better place to be.
31:39Joe Biniere and Donnie Wrightside shutting it down next with some best bets.
