00:00This was the final match of the Trinidad leg for 2025 with the Brian Lara Cricket Academy hosting the Republic Bank CPL match between TKR and defending champs Saint Lucia Kings. As such, the fans were making the most of the biggest party in sport in Theruba with the hope of a TKR win.
00:20Yes, sir. This is the final CPL match in Theruba for 2025. How much will you miss the vibe?
00:25Well, I'll be missing it a lot, but I mean, Trinidad is the only place that will have this kind of vibes. And, well, the vibes have to take from Trinidad. I'm going to take it to Guyana for the final games. You understand?
00:36Cheers. All the best.
00:42Which are some of the players that have impressed you on the TKR side?
00:45So far, some of the players have impressed me. It would have to be Colin Monroe, Alex Hayes, Pollard, and well, Puran.
00:55What about Son of the Rhine?
00:58Out from this, yeah, I think he's kind of out of form, but he's getting there, so I would think about it, man.
01:05Cheers.
01:06While it was not a full house, it was a superb turnout on a weekday as many had to work the following day.
01:12This lady was surely in her glee. Speaking of which, these women also had a whale of her time.
01:18Yes, ma'am. How much are you enjoying the cricket in the southern part of Trinidad?
01:21I'm really enjoying the cricket here. CPL has good vibes. I'm here with my friend from Kunupia.
01:27I wish the finals was here, though.
01:29Better luck next time.
01:31Yes, exactly. Let's hope for the best in this game.
01:34Ma'am, I understand this is the first time you are at the game.
01:37Yes.
01:38What's your vibes like?
01:39Excellent, excellent. It's a party. You can forget the cricket and just enjoy yourself.
01:44Does it make you want to come back next year?
01:46Of course. I wanted to add my new shirts and everything for it, you know?
01:50I'm enjoying it a lot. I mean, this is the last game in Trinidad. I wish we had more, but this is what we have, and I really enjoy it.
01:58And with regards to TKR, do you think they can go all the way?
02:01Oh, yeah. That's not maybe or perhaps. That's sure.
02:05What does the CPL mean to you?
02:07Fun, excitement, the collaboration with people. Everybody is one. We support, we love, and we celebrate as one.
02:17CPL is also about those working behind the scenes. This was the commentary box where ball-by-ball coverage was being provided on Taj 92.3 FM.
02:25JEM radio station manager Raul D'Souza and Hot 93.5 FM and Taj 92.3 FM sales manager Rodney Saini said everything was hunky-dory.
02:36This is the seventh year that we've been the official rights holders radio-wise for the Caribbean. In Trinidad, we used Taj 92.3.
02:44This, as you said, is the last game for Trinidad, and it's been incredible. The Trinidad games have been...
02:50I mean, you can see the crowds, the atmosphere. That guy on the game is one that will stand out in the mind.
02:55And then the big team tonight said, Lucia, coming here is great. It's great. Rodney and I really thoroughly enjoyed it.
03:02So I've enjoyed everything from the sales, but the best thing is the camaraderie, the rivalry, as you can see.
03:09TKR Kings.
03:11Kings.
03:12And the excitement down there is tremendous. CPL is the biggest party in sport.
03:17A big shout out to those in the media center who put in the work to provide fans with the news on the biggest party in sport.
03:23Also playing a major part with TKR media coordinator Dana Hussain and CPL PR and communications officer John Ramsing.
03:31It's a step in the right direction for me in terms of my career, usually in the commentary box, like you mentioned, behind the microphones.
03:38But now I'm actually in a higher position working for the tournament in the position of PR and communications officer,
03:46supporting not only Peter Miller, who's the manager in this department, but the entire tournament, you know,
03:52trying to get out media releases, trying to get out everything for the media in a timely manner.
03:57It's such a big portfolio and I'm very humbled by it really.
04:08In the end, TKR went under to the Kings by seven wickets.
04:11Next up for the Knight Riders are the Ghana Amazon Warriors at Providence Stadium.
