01:13Harpreet promised the earth we will endeavor to find the best dover so that we possibly can but they're fresh fish
01:19If it's not as perfect that's okay yeah failed to hit the mark that should have been prepped better than that yeah
01:25Nick and Aaron had a slow start come on not working hard enough, but at the market
01:31I really hope you enjoy that their fish flew a lot of love going into that and in the boardroom
01:36Giving them a total profit of three hundred and twelve pounds and forty two pence
01:41Harpreet's team netted the win on
01:44The losing team this is the worst failure. I've ever
01:49Experienced in this ball a shot across the bowels for akshay and you you don't know what you're bloody doing

03:04Four boys already gone home now. I think it's a bit time for one of you lot to go home

03:15King's Cross
03:20Housing Europe's largest curved screen
03:25Immersive entertainment complex
03:28Samsung KX
03:45Oh my god
03:47Oh my god
04:15Oh my god
04:19sorry i'm late it's been a busy morning the pandemic saw a rapid rise in the popularity
04:45of video games and as a result the uk gaming industry is now valued at over seven billion
04:53pounds so for your next task you'll be designing a brand new video game once you've created a playable
05:02level of a game you will pitch it to leading industry professionals and they will decide
05:08which is the best concept now you may think i'm out of the loop on video games and don't know my
05:15fortnight from a week next tuesday but i've been working with innovative technology for decades
05:22and i know a great product when i see one good luck and i'll see you in the boardroom where at least
05:30one of you it will be game over
05:36on the basis that diverse have won the last two tasks lord sugar would like to mix the teams up a bit
05:41so akshay stephanie and sophie please move over to this team and to balance up the teams we'd like
05:47aaron harpreet and akeem to move over to infinity good luck in your new teams off you go two days to
05:56create a brand new video game before pitching to industry experts welcome to team infinity
06:04yeah first job and actually you cannot lose again okay i'm done with that i'm done with the bottom
06:10three put someone at the controls does anyone actually have experience in gaming at all i play
06:17computer games i haven't got experience in working in it um but i do play them so i will put myself
06:24forward does anyone else i used to play a lot of games when i was younger and throughout all of the
06:28previous tasks i put my ideas forward and they're the ones that have been used and we won the tasks
06:33so i would really like to put myself forward to pm this task so if you want nick to be pm put your
06:38hand up or brittany if you want brittany's ppm put your hand up okay fantastic
06:48already pushing buttons i've been playing video games my whole life professionally too amazing
06:55project manager akeem i have a great idea i want to create something that is
07:01a futuristic dystopian apocalyptic survival game we're playing against the robots and we need to
07:09survive for a certain period of time i was thinking a setting of a prison a female prisoner who's been
07:16wrongly accused of something and her journey to try and break out of prison and i think that'll
07:21appear to like the adult market and also the kids as well you know what i'm actually changing my mind
07:28i think a prison that's in the real world okay okay got it perfect yeah akeem's got all the skills
07:35for this task and he came in really confident about what he wanted to create however within two minutes
07:41from all of that out the window i want to follow in aaron's idea i hope he doesn't get swayed all
07:45the time it could really backfire and i want that strong female character okay that is very
07:50important like lara croft like lara croft pitching a green concept for her game sustainability is
07:58quite a big thing at the moment front of house manager britney i think the game that's in the
08:03arctic and your ice caps are melting the animals are starving and the scientists have been sent to
08:10the arctic to save the animals while their habitat is being destroyed and then the more animals you
08:15save the more points you accumulate okay guys i'm just a question would you three who are gamers
08:20actually play this game because for me it sounds like a child's game i'm concerned it is very simple
08:25we need to make it addictive and unique i think we have a really good concept to be knowledgeable and
08:30bring attention to the fact that we need to reduce global warming the team's concept of having a game
08:36about global warming and saving the animals well that's very on trend but they have to be careful not
08:42to make it too worthy when people play games they don't want to be lectured to
08:49next job for akim i need to be on the game development team put players in their place
08:55katherine you're going to be the sub team leader on the branding team
08:59alongside amy and i would like hops and aaron to be with me aaron is more experienced in gaming i don't
09:06mind working with the ladies in terms of getting the branding started and whatever works but i do agree
09:10it's up to you akim um okay i actually think that i would swap aaron and amy around okay um because
09:20i think i can communicate with yourself quite well exactly what we need yeah i had a clear vision
09:26from the start um i feel like i just need to trust my gut and my instinct i've been playing video games
09:31for years now and i feel that my instinct is probably going to be correct on the branding team
09:38i would like francesca sophie and actually hatching a battle plan for her eco warriors
09:43francesca would you be sub-team leader of branding fantastic britney obviously this is going to appeal
09:50to the younger i would say from 10 plus do you want sustainability in the name i definitely want it to
09:56have something about arctic and saving the world saving something like that i'm really excited let's
10:02go make a game 11 a.m half of each team head off to produce playable prototypes i don't even feel
10:14nervous about this which is a bit shocking i'm excited for you because you're such an avid gamer you now get
10:20to create your own video game exactly the rest will build their brands do you think that collecting
10:29animals is engaging enough like is that enough of a game concept that you know the majority of the
10:35market would want to play i think the whole save the planet is a good storyline but at the end of the
10:42the day the game has to be fun yeah it's becoming childish east london base for both teams a leading
10:53digital design agency brainstorming names for their game the idea that this guy is a scientist who's also
11:03saving animals akshay sophie and francesca one of the names that i would really like to put forward is
11:09arctic savior i love arctic i definitely think that should be in there but mixed with mission to
11:16make it more exciting but we're trying to say what the game is it's arctic savior you are the arctic
11:21savior that's what you're playing as is it as engaging as arctic mission you're on a mission to save
11:27the arctic it sounds more exciting i get what you're saying it's an angle but for me arctic savior
11:33is more of a game name it appears that you two prefer savior so two against one no no it's not
11:40not about that but i think it is yeah but you do you do prefer that we'll go for arctic savior then
11:45as our as our name arctic savior is a bit boring it's plain i don't think it's very innovative
11:52but it was two against one on that element coming up with names for their prison concept so there's a
11:58girl who's been wrongly convicted and she needs to get out of this prison yeah catherine and aaron
12:05what about something like prison escape is that just too like vague it's just quite boring yeah
12:12i've got the stretch
12:17the sentence
12:21the cell it's just a bit in there the wing
12:25i don't know time she's doing time time yeah yeah okay they've come up with the name time now for
12:37me that doesn't say anything this is a bit non-descript and doesn't really tell me about the game itself
12:42i think they've missed the trick i think that looks really good yeah yeah cool anthony can i show you
12:48what we're expecting it to look like something a bit like this spelling out their vision arctic
12:56saviour francesca akshay and sophie we have blue and white um do you want like a gradient in the
13:03colors yeah cool and i also think we should have arctic on one line and then saviour on the other
13:09turn agreed can we make saviour slightly smaller please perfect great arctic saviour i think that's
13:17fine cool their name is arctic saviour if they mean arctic then they've forgotten the c um at the minute
13:28arctic i think of articulated lorry arctic i've spelt it right arctic s-a-v-i-o-u-r oh that's perfect okay
13:39that's perfect okay
13:41at digital animators parachute this is going to be the main platform that he's running across and
13:47this is going to be the ice britany stephanie and nick and you're basically a scientist that has to
13:53jump to each section bring their arctic game to life you can have another bit of ice there going
13:59up as well and then you can have the seal or something that you want to collect yeah up there
14:03to give an incentive to jump yes my worry is that if it is over simplistic is it going to do that 10
14:10plus market and are they going to want to keep coming back to this game simple games can be very
14:14addictive and catchy but yeah i just want to make sure because we've specified a target market that
14:18we're not going to make it too childish that it's not actually going to appeal to the target market
14:21that we've gone for but keep thinking back to mario brothers which is one of the most successful
14:24games and it really is this concept we've got the concept down i do think there could be more
14:30progression and development we need to show that to the panel essentially tomorrow for them to be
14:35interested can you do bad guys yeah okay we should have some bad guys maybe with oil hats yeah or
14:40something that we have to maybe shoot or punch how far in the future do we want this to be set let's
14:48say 2014. next door the objective of the game is that there's a female character building a backstory for
14:56their character she needs to find the key to escape by the same time she needs to survive
15:02akim harpreet and former theater producer amy i'm picturing father and daughter the father and daughter
15:11witness a robbery at their local bank wherein all of the employees are murdered they were the only
15:17customers at the time so they're accused of being a part of the robbery and murdering all the employees
15:23as the father carries a gun with him the same kind used in the murders the sergeant at the scene is
15:29a former army vet with the father but was passed over for a massive promotion during their army days
15:34which he still holds against the father so the sergeant pays off the judge and the judge gives both
15:42the father and daughter a life sentence in jail i don't think we can have the father daughter i think
15:50we should probably potentially get rid of the father element of it i understand amy's point about the
15:57child growing up with the dad i definitely think it's potentially at this stage a little bit too
16:01complicated let's just try to keep this a little bit simple how would she have learned the skills that
16:06she learned oh because she was part of the fbi for example let's just have her as part of the fbi
16:11let's just have so she worked in the fbi yeah okay
16:172 pm putting a face to their prisoner you've never seen in games or movies a strong black woman
16:26yeah katherine and aaron i think we should use me
16:30i think that would work is there like a sexy hair up oh yeah that's nice yeah i think we need to
16:40make her darker feel like she's too light darker a bit more darker yeah that's fine could we look for
16:46like prison overalls yeah orange definitely orange jumpsuit ah yeah okay fine yeah i think she needs just
16:54a little bit of cleavage oh could we keep the boobs the same size on her but you know like i just
17:01pushed in yeah like perfect i like that i like that i mean who knew this was going to be all about me
17:11no i mean i've just used my face and i'm the main character but i think it works so names wise
17:17amelia amelia stone amelia stone yeah that sounds good yeah i like that amelia stone
17:26i do think he needs to have a lab coat because that was that's a scientist straight away you're
17:30like a scientist creating their character can we also have the goggles on the eyes because it's
17:36going to be very snowy francesca akshay and sophie the next thing that we need to do is a character
17:43name yeah and one thing that i think works really well is because if it's a scientist is use
17:47alliteration sam the scientist is sam the scientist just a bit too boring a scientist could be considered
17:56a professor as soon as you say professor i think of lectures i think of someone telling you what to do
18:01i definitely like the professor i don't want this to be boring it is a game at the end of the day i think
18:06it needs to be sam the scientist because that is what they are sophie at the moment is missing the
18:14mark she's just coming up with a lot of negatives and issues so i'm just trying to move everything
18:19forward with solutions and try and be as quick as possible so i think sam the scientist works
18:264 pm what was she framed for locking down details of his jail themed game she's framed for tapping into
18:33the government um intelligence project manager akeem and the name of the game is time
18:44just time it's just time just time is short snappy and it's what she's doing that is what we went with
18:50time it's quite simple yeah okay that's fine all right then thank you so much good luck
18:57hey guys thank you bye bye just from the awkward pause i feel like they don't like the name
19:03i find time a bit boring i think the only thing this is absolutely imperative is that we need a
19:08countdown clock on the game okay the game can't be called time and there's no time on the game yes
19:16on the other team hi i'm sam the scientist the arctic is in trouble the ice is melting priority for
19:23francesca whoa i need to avoid the oil or ruin my health create a promotional video to sell their
19:31green game so we've done our introduction of the character and i'll talk about the seal the penguins
19:37and polar bed okay okay what you're gonna do so be like oh look there's a penguin let me grab the
19:41penguin that's point no i i disagree with that point a little bit because i think that's like in the game
19:46that will happen i think she does need to explain um i would shout look there's a penguin grab the
19:51penguin so we can actually show what the game's about i don't want to put i don't think i think
19:56just focus on the fact that you've got all these issues you've already said that you need to save
19:59the animals yeah so let's just leave it at that i think that's enough let's personally you've got two
20:05very strong women on this team neither will yield to the other and actually stuck in the middle as the
20:11dog's body wearing the suit doing the voiceover and just following instructions let's make it snappier
20:18we need you come join me to save the arctic animals i think we need to ignore that we need you
20:23now just say that we need you now come play arctic savior what would you do in a fight framing amelia
20:32stone you could do a punch elbow oh a punch and an elbow that's good first time director aaron
20:39i like that i like that a lot i need you to crawl okay get onto your belt buckle and then with your
20:48elbows crawl while using your legs i know but you've got to do it so you crawl yeah that's it that's
20:55perfect okay you do sneak past the guard you can like sneak on the against the wall and yeah like
21:00this arms down or arms probably arms down good yeah yeah let's just say that there's 10 cells from
21:11left to right mapping out amelia's movements and in the third cell is where the protagonist is amy
21:18harpreet and gaming enthusiasts are keen in one of these this is a 3d item such as a bin for example
21:26and there we can pick up a note where they learn about the story of the character if we're going
21:30futuristic a garbage can with a note is a little bit old school if we're in 2040 surely there's an
21:35upgraded way to find out information so this is my idea they need to go and find something like a
21:41phone instead it has some text overlay on there maybe the text notification should say miss stone
21:47i know you've been wrongfully imprisoned find the key in cell c9 and head to the lift
21:54you know what i'm actually going to change my mind i feel like they need to go to the phone first
21:59read the text go find a key card once you go to the key card they then go to the left
22:04akim has way more knowledge of video games than me i feel like i'm putting ideas forward and straight
22:09away they're being implemented but no one else seems to be really driving forward with the ideas
22:14on the way to the key card on the way to the phone maybe they have to dodge prisoners maybe the health
22:19is affected perfect sounds good on the other team we would like to have the first obstacle which will
22:28be a glacier working on their global warming gameplay i think we've got a bad guy on the top bit
22:34yes because we haven't got a bad guy here stephanie nick and britany well i would like to have an animal
22:39that's quite easy to catch that will be on that initial one could you tell me what your animals are
22:44it's a seal oh yes a penguin and a polar bear yeah he's cute yeah seal cup 100
22:55when you're gaming you want to have fun you want to have an emotion
22:58well the only emotion the game at this point is quite sad you know animals are dying the planet's
23:04been destroyed i mean where's the fun in that i want to rescue them so much
23:09my name is special agent amelia stone 9 00 pm it's really really good yeah i think so promotional videos
23:20is perfected thank you so much games signed off so i really like it yeah thanks so much
23:28tomorrow convince experts to invest
23:387am for britney hello team i am so excited to hear how you got on yesterday
23:45a first look at her branding what we created i feel like hits brief to a t
23:53arctic yeah um the c is missing from arctic so it's arctic
24:04i did actually write down the names but i actually did check with both of you as well on the spelling
24:08because i can't spell at all and we all looked at it and i went for each letter we're supposed to be
24:14like educating people and we haven't spelled arctic right because it is such a big mistake in the pitch
24:20i think that we should bring it up i personally don't think you should ever bring up a negative
24:24why would we bring it up okay we'll think about it but overall i'm going to have the final say on that
24:28next door how do you feel about the name time unveiling her design catherine when i first heard it i
24:39was a little bit worried i was like time is that it um however i think luckily we've managed to build
24:44it into the concept so are you ready to see our tea absolutely let's see it my name is special agent
24:51amelia stone i'm an mi5 operative with years of experience of infiltrating terrorist networks
24:57i was wrongly accused and sentenced to life for leaking government secrets that led to the biggest
25:02cyber attack the uk has ever suffered my aim is to find the key defeat the guards and survive the
25:08inmates so that i can escape and find the people responsible for my imprisonment and clear my name
25:14time is against me the time is now yes yes that's it that's cool it feels like a trailer for a movie
25:24wanted to go yes it makes you want to play the game it makes you believe her story i think it's
25:29absolutely brilliant global warming has taken place the arctic is in trouble the ice is melting hi i'm
25:37sam the scientist help me save the arctic animals get some points let's go whoa i need to avoid the
25:45oil or ruin my health i need to collect penguins seals and polar bears i need your help to save the arctic
25:53animals complete arctic savior
25:57with sam the scientist i thought the name was a bit boring you know he's got this long white cardigan
26:02on like leggings og boots just slightly a bit confused about okay so this is like a really fit
26:09scientist he's saving animals obviously it's not a white cardigan it's actually a white lab coat with
26:13his name on it if you say scientist you think lab coats otherwise how do you know he's a scientist
26:18across the hall should we try oh yeah let's have a look the big reveal of time
26:28so guys at the top can you see you've got the timer in the middle there's the guard in front
26:35i'm not the guard on the floor then she's going to find a mobile phone
26:38miss stone i know you've been wrongfully imprisoned i'm going to help you break out of here find the
26:44key in cell c9 and head to the left i've got the key card now well you've only got two minutes left
26:53in terms of the actual game itself there wasn't much to do i'll be honest if that time element wasn't
27:00there i thought it'd be quite boring i think there are a lot of games out there that have this concept
27:06but do do not have a timer i think it's a strong usp oh you got a penguin oh that's the bad guy
27:15yes oh you need to shoot him so every time you kill a bad guy you get points yeah yeah right
27:23another penguin you got and then you get on the boat and then you get to the next level
27:27what do you think yeah is it exciting enough because we just need to be prepared if that comes
27:37up in the pitch all we need to do is make sure we emphasize on the development and the progression
27:40and just emphasize this is level one this is as basic as it gets it's going to elevate as we go right
27:46because most people over the age of 40 play video games do you think people over the age of 40 will
27:50play that game yes the game is simplistic that's the point of it this is the first game where it's
27:55actually got a message we're actually saving animals this is what's going to happen if global
27:59warming continues that's what makes us unique see you guys soon see you later good luck on the pitch
28:089am half of each team head off to plan their pitch they're also investing in you as the creator
28:17the founder the one that's most passionate about it so it's so important you tell your story no
28:22absolutely the rest to gather feedback on their game the other thing i do want to bring up okay
28:28that we haven't spoken about is just arctic the word arctic that was obviously spelt wrong what i
28:33would like to ask someone how would you spell arctic for example and if most people spell it the way
28:38that we have spelt it then we could say oh well most people spell it this way as well like there's
28:41another selling point of why we have spelt it that way yeah yeah put a positive spin on it i get that
28:46so i think that could entail maybe the game becoming a little bit boring
29:15name of it is time what are your thoughts on that it's quite vague okay maybe like serving
29:22time or something is where the idea comes from but i actually have no idea
29:27across town for arctic savior you saw the branding at the beginning can i just have some thoughts
29:33please an icy reception it says arctic savior okay cool yeah and what does that say to you
29:41that's not even a word i probably would have spelled it slightly differently how would you spell it i
29:47would have probably gone a r c t i c especially if kids are going to play it they probably want the
29:52right spelling i believe it's supposed to be arctic savior yeah did you like the idea of the mixture of
29:58gaming and the environment are we suggesting that by to save the animals we have to kill the humans that
30:04it was a bit like contradictory at times four p.m gfinity one of britain's biggest esports arenas
30:17but if you were saying it's just going around the cell they thought it was very samey feedback gathered
30:23pitch plan taking shape i've just got something pretty decent tell me if we have an amelia before
30:29anyone comes out why don't you come out just say i'm innocent and just walk off again and then the
30:35music starts maybe the music starts and we'll walk on or something like that i like that this game is
30:40almost like a cinematic performance it's almost like a movie and that's what's happening it needs
30:45to be engaging right and i think that would really capture the audience perfect the name of the missing
30:51seat was definitely noted by all of the players i asked what their feedback was on that specifically
30:56they just said if it's a child's game why spell it incorrectly i don't think we should mention it
31:01but when the question comes we're going to say honestly that it was a typo because this is just
31:05a demo and it's something that would definitely be addressed and fixed when the main game launches
31:09i just think we need to acknowledge it first no no i don't think we should acknowledge it but if it
31:13comes up i think that should be our response fantastic 6 pm crunch time waiting a panel of games
31:25investors it's time for them to meet amelia stone hoping to score points amelia stone
31:35i am innocent
31:42i'm the bad guy
31:53hi everyone um my history of gaming i used to play starcraft ultra nerd loved it to bits and i know what
32:01makes a damn good video game and today we have a fantastic video game to show you my name is special
32:08agent amelia stone i was wrongly accused and sentenced to life for leaking government secrets my aim is to
32:15find the key defeat the guards so that i can escape and clear my name so the main objective of the game
32:23time is to escape from every floor of the prison but amelia has to also try to survive and this is
32:32what a lot of games want and i know because i am one i'm going to pass it over to my colleague harpreet
32:41customization and the demand for it i'm sure you will be aware is huge at the moment
32:47sorry i'm just remembering my point um if we sorry i'm a little bit nervous um in terms of
32:57customization it's a key feature used in many games out there at the moment thank you thank you very
33:04much thank you let's welcome any questions questions questions oh my name is roberta lucca i'm co-founder
33:14of bossa studios in terms of the character being strong the fact that she dresses as everybody else
33:20in the game is it making her stand out
33:25i guess we want in the sorry at the end of the day she is in a prison so we wanted her to be in
33:30standard clothing um we wanted her to be a strong woman um there's not many kind of gamers out there
33:37that look like her um so that was kind of the reason behind that so my name is mark morris i've
33:43worked at companies like microsoft with the launch of xbox one you're escaping from prison so it's just
33:49the act of escaping and then going back and escaping again and escaping again and escaping again why would
33:54somebody want to come back and play this over and over again some of the best games in the world has that
34:00element of a single map that people are fighting and trying to escape from that map and i think
34:06that element of the game is extremely gripping thank you thank you
34:15next to drop arctic savior
34:19hello ian mark and roberta we at diverse are so excited to show you the gaming concept that we
34:40have come up with that is going to disrupt the market i know i know what you're thinking
34:48why arctic savior why now well britney is going to tell you this well because we're running out of
34:57time the ice capsules are melting at an alarming rate and many animals are tragically having their
35:03habitats destroyed there are many format games on the market however there's not one that conveys such
35:09an important message global warming has taken place the arctic is in trouble the ice is melting hi i'm
35:18sam the scientist i need to collect penguins seals and polar bears i need your help to save the arctic
35:24animals come play arctic savior as you progress through the level and collect animals you accumulate
35:32points however it's not as simple as that there are many obstacles that sam the scientist will face along
35:37the way hello my name's in livingstone i launched tomb raider in 96 uh the name arctic savior uh who came up with that
35:49yeah i came out with the name arctic savior um could you tell me how you spell arctic
35:56so this is a demo and we're very aware that if it was in a real life game we would spell it with a c
36:02okay it's just those investors you pay attention to detail mr penguin how many penguins are in the
36:09arctic there's quite a few penguins in the arctic i don't know the exact figure uh on the game we've
36:15highlighted quite a few different penguins i believe there aren't any in the arctic they're all in the
36:20antarctic
36:21so we've chosen arctic and antarctic as the setting we haven't specified we've gone in with
36:29arctic with the name however it does generally relate to all of the animals in the arctic that
36:33would be in an ice setting where the ice is melting so that is the environment that we're looking to
36:38target you are going up against monsters in the entertainment space that are offering incredible
36:46player fantasies that are completely out of this world something that's very very far away from a
36:51very serious subject such as climate change i completely get your point there are those huge
36:57massive games that have got massive fantasy lands and things like that but actually the usp that we
37:02are going for is more the kind of thing of the flappy birds simple but effective but addictive
37:07thank you thank you 7pm pitch is done i really don't think there's any negatives on the pitch
37:18side guys it's just the challenging questions a lot of the branding was tore apart for example the
37:23fact that penguins are not in the arctic the fact it was spelt wrong i'd be lying if i thought i was
37:27a hundred percent confident going into the boardroom tomorrow we've just done the best that we could do
37:32let's see how it goes but i think that's the best i could do they did mention that the game had a
37:36repetitive feel well akim's it's his baby at the end of the day so if it was to boil down to somebody
37:41it's certainly not me who's responsible for the task tomorrow in the boardroom game over
37:57you can go through to the boardroom now
38:06so for this task i'll ask you to create a brand new game and a main character to launch to the market
38:23market now in 1984 a certain alan michael sugar launched a computer i remember i had one how many
38:35games did i make in those days you had over 1500 titles yeah right so listen people when it comes to
38:43games you're talking about somebody who's made thousands of them so let's start with infinity
38:50akeem i believe that you were the project manager is that right yep so i played uh competitively uh
38:58i've been a gamer my entire life bearing in mind your experience in this environment yeah what was
39:04your initial idea my initial idea was very futuristic but we spoke together as a team um i believe it was
39:13aaron who made a really good point around the prisons and we could potentially use a theme there
39:17based on this was it a good point i think it was a fantastic point listen akeem you are a highly
39:23qualified first class honors degree in mathematics is that right that's correct yeah i bet your mum is
39:29very proud of you right cheers yeah i'd like to be proud of you but right now i'm getting the feeling
39:35that you just get swayed and you know a business partner of mine mustn't get swayed
39:41bollocking over let's play the teaser my name is special agent amelia stone i was wrongly accused and
39:48sentenced to life for leaking government secrets my aim is to find the key defeat the guards so that i
39:54can escape and clear my name time is against me the time is now amelia stone sounds good good character
40:04name yes lord sugar she's a strong bold woman who can handle herself so i thought what better person
40:11than myself to be the face this was supposed to be something to do with 10 years in the future was
40:16that right yep so um we wanted a modern future that was had spurs or west ham won anything by then
40:23everything we'd want anyway tell me about how you went about developing the game when we went to the
40:31gaming studio essentially i had a lot of the creative input lord sugar i think akeem clearly had a vision
40:37um took a while to sort of get on the same page but then i do think we worked very collaboratively in
40:42making sure all the ideas came forward right let's watch it as you can see there are items that you can
40:49pick up and when you pick up it tells you a bit about the story and there's a mystery person who's trying
40:56to help miss stone escape from the prison all i can see her doing is whacking everybody how does she
41:03fail so she fails if she runs out of time or if the health bar goes all the way down to north to be
41:09honest with you i've seen more action in an episode of the night garden um okay so who did the pitching
41:17to these people so katherine went first um she went out ass amelia stone with a phrase saying i'm innocent
41:25is that it yeah i was just setting the tone lord sugar ready for the presentation it fell a bit
41:29flat it fell a bit flat i don't think the investors knew what was going on it was meant to just you
41:34know get their attention harpreet didn't you uh stumble a couple of times i did go blank for a moment
41:40why maybe a little bit of nerves got to me um but luckily i didn't forget anything that i needed to
41:46say i carried on um i'm only human at the end of the day okay let's move on to diverse shall we
41:53and britney you became the project manager that's correct so i knew that in the market is very
41:59oversaturated and things like prison games shooting games they've been done so many times so we've
42:05decided to go with a game that actually has an overall important message okay all right so let's
42:10play the teaser global warming has taken place the arctic is in trouble the ice is melting hi i'm sam the
42:18scientist i need to collect penguins seals and polar bears i need your help to save the arctic animals
42:24come play arctic savior
42:30right whose voice over was that yours that's my voice over is that bagpipes you got in the back there
42:35they're actually walking sticks and we wanted him to be big and strong and tall so he can save all these
42:40animals and defeat all of the objects in the game do you come up with the name arctic spelt wrong yeah
42:46that's correct hmm when we were brainstorming the name francesca had it written in a notepad the
42:54design and it was passed over to the gentleman who was helping us design and then it was written from
42:59what was written on branding so sophie actually myself and none of us realized the mistake you know
43:04what an arctic is don't you in east end terms it's an articulated lorry arctic savior sounds like a
43:11breakdown service right let's go let's look at this thing yep so as you can see this is meant to be a
43:18splintered area of ice and he's just collected a seal underneath this glacier so this here is our first
43:25enemy attacker you have to save a certain amount of animals to be able to progress to the next level
43:31that's our usp with prison games i'm sorry there's so many out there what makes you stand out from any
43:36other prison game well when you look in the gaming world it's actually advancing in age it's becoming
43:42a more cinematic experience especially with the technology of the gaming consoles pcs and mobile
43:48phones you don't have to convince each other you had to convince the investors i think we were also
43:52leading though is that a lot of these games that are platform games that are simpler they aren't
43:56you know incredibly complicated but actually so we were leading with simple effective but incredibly
43:59addictive is it addictive that game do you think people are going to carry on playing well during
44:04consumer research there was actually quite a few people that wanted to continue playing they're
44:07playing for like half an hour maybe they were waiting to see something happen and what makes it
44:11addictive is you want to beat your friends you want to beat your family there's that competitive
44:16element okay well i suppose what we need to do now is to see what the experts um felt uh tim how did
44:26infinity get on so although there were some issues with the game the investors loved the character
44:30so they invested 20 000 pounds each adding up to 60 000 in total for further development okay karen what
44:38about diverse well the investors said they're simplistic and then they're simple and this game was too
44:45simple and on that basis they didn't make any investment at all
44:49really nothing at all not a penny hmm well gamers you spent the last few days uh with cutting edge
45:01technology so now you're going old school gaming i'm sending you to monopoly life-sized so in other
45:09words you're going to be playing monopoly on a whacking very big platform okay off you go thank you
45:15look trigger well you're gonna have to go away and uh to use a pun console yourself go and have a chat
45:34amongst yourself i'll see you back here thank you trigger
45:45oh hey hello guys welcome i killed it came into the pitch i dominated my experience really shone
45:54through and that's why we won the task
45:59you had one job i think making the trailer was probably the best thing i did in the whole task
46:05some people was comparing it to a blockbuster hit so i'm really really pleased with what we did
46:09is there a timer oh my god hi we're running out wait guys did you need amelia to come and help you
46:18i came up with a lot of the key ideas i adapted the story to make sure it fit so i felt i was
46:23instrumental in the winning of this task isn't it a coincidence that we're sitting in jail right now
46:29well it's just a matter of time before we escape the fact that the name was spelt wrong that name
46:39was in francesca's notebook which was passed over to that's not what happened we i got it up on the
46:44screen and i literally said to both of you no actually is that spelt correctly the majority of
46:48the failure of this task is more down to the concept which is what they were investing in and also the
46:52game just being too simplistic i feel i was shut down on all my ideas i wanted it to be creative i
46:59wanted it to grab the audience this is the most i've heard of you throughout this whole task to be
47:03honest she didn't honestly do anything sophie can't just go blaming francesca for it what did she
47:10actually contribute to that branding team i personally can't think of anything it was ultimately
47:14the concept that failed we took a risk by breaking away from something that hasn't already been done a
47:19million times and trying to create something unique and i would defend that 110 percent we couldn't
47:24even spell arctic correctly it made us look like a laughing stock from the beginning and i honestly
47:29believe if the branding would have been correct they would have invested
47:43could you send the candidates in please
47:49that's what's going on
47:58creatures at risk of extinction in this process you are creatures at risk of extinction
48:06thing is is that we all know about global warming and something that's got to be taken seriously but
48:11this is a game which was supposed to be interesting funny it's not supposed to be pitching a cause
48:19i was thinking of this going to the market if there is a game that is like shooting or prison
48:25no one is going to buy you out of all the others except the investors invested in a prison game
48:29yes over your thinking was if it was going onto the shelves i had to take a risk and go with
48:34something that wasn't out there that's why we took a risk and we didn't just copy every other game
48:38where's the risk people don't buy games for that purpose you know they don't buy games for that
48:43purpose they watched david attenborough when britney actually initially said that concept
48:48i think i was the only one that said i don't think this is a good idea i don't see that sustainability
48:52and gaming actually match at all and i didn't understand it something that made us different
48:57instead of just being another fantasy game or another prison game because we couldn't even spell
49:02arctic i think we were set up to fail before we'd even walked out onto that stage so in terms of the
49:07spelling of arctic that was a group decision you just saw it in those big letters you should have
49:12said oh hold on a mistake here so could action could have sophie no one picked up on it i don't
49:18think it should fall on my shoulders i think that's very unfair why not because you're a sub-team
49:22leader i feel like i was putting forward a lot of ideas and energy into this and i do feel like
49:28sophie completely took a step back and honestly sophie i didn't even hear anything from you for the
49:33whole task that's not true francesca i wanted to express creativity i come up with arctic mission
49:39because i wanted to create excitement i thought it was really boring i thought the concept correctly
49:43no it was in it was the same spelling yeah she had the exact same spelling no the issue that the
49:47artist wrote was because you showed him your notepad no sophie that didn't happen but it was very much
49:53francesca had all the ideas there was no team collaboration do you agree with that i disagree i
50:00didn't follow i was constantly putting my ideas out there sophie you just repeated and followed
50:04did i repeat and follow no absolutely not we worked really well we didn't work as a team
50:08we did not work with the wrong name of arctic at least we all know now why santa's never replied
50:15to any of your letters that's for sure yesterday when they asked the question of who was who did
50:20the branding francesca stepped forward and said it was all me so i do think please just let me finish
50:25the branding stopped them from investing i think the biggest reason this task has failed is the
50:30actual concept of the game it's too simple it needs to be fun um right um britney who are you bringing
50:36back into this board room francesca because um i think that the failure lies with the branding
50:42and i have to go with sophie with regards to contribution go back to the house and you three remain
50:50behind as the weeks are going by i was hoping to see some cream rising to the top um i'm not
51:03at the moment i'm gonna have a chat with karen and tim off you go thank you thank you
51:10well branding team karen what what do you think look when you can't spell your own brand name
51:23correctly you know you've got a problem because the investors just thought they're not across the
51:26detail and francesca has to own that because she was sub team leader and she really was directing
51:33everything yeah what about britney britney had this idea about saving the world an interesting back
51:39story but she put too much emphasis on that and not enough emphasis on the gameplay what do you think
51:44sophie's doing here then nobody really has listened to her ideas and she was very underwhelming in this
51:50task i don't think it would have made any difference at all if she wasn't there yeah difficult one
51:57i'll call them back in and we'll see which one of them is going to go
52:02can you send the three of them in please
52:09can you tell me why you brought sophie back in here
52:20i think it's quite easy in a task to sit back and to object to ideas but then not contribute anything
52:26forward i wanted it to be more engaging because i did think the idea the theory was boring so i
52:31wanted it to be a mission a quest sounds really similar to what we went with anyway which was
52:36francesca's ideas they all sound like slight tweaks so my name was arctic savior and then sophie said
52:42how about there was no team there was no team collaboration and so what i did i asked democratically
52:47and actually went with my idea that's how he got to the name i very much listened to everything you
52:51said so no you didn't the same with the name of the scientist the only other option you came up
52:55with was just professor and i said okay it needs to be more exciting i said i said sam the scientist is
53:01boring yeah and then i said okay let's brainstorm let's work together as a team and we did that and
53:05then you came up with no can i speak please and then you came up with professor and then i said okay
53:10professor what and you said oh i don't know and i was trying to follow britney's vision and so i was
53:16britney's britney's vision so what did britney produce she produced a documentary in the form of
53:26an arcade game i did go forward with a vision everyone was on board with it and no one else
53:31had anything to contribute so i did go with it who should be fired i think that sophie should be
53:36fired because one a lot of the mistakes were on the brand in but two she didn't contribute any ideas
53:41who should be fired it depends what you're looking for lord sugar but if you're about what i'm looking
53:45for uh you're not my advisor i'm asking you in this particular um task who should be fired
53:54because the concept wasn't strong enough then britney should be it would have been easy for me
53:57not being in this industry to have sat back and done the same thing not put forward an idea not
54:02put myself forward for pm and sat back and then came into the boardroom and blamed the pm or the
54:07right look i've i've had enough of listening to this britney this wasn't very very good
54:14now you say to me be impressed by me lord sugar i put myself forward in an industry that don't know
54:21anything about francesca you were responsible for the name the character the t's none of them are any
54:29good sophie you were on the branding team so you have to take some responsibility for example the bad
54:37spelling of arctic um but britney you were the project manager and it's regretful um however
54:55francesca the advisors said how can you deal with somebody who can't even spell the blooming name
55:02so to use mr wordsworth your distant relatives words the things that i've seen i now can see no more
55:17i once saw a bright future for you in this process unfortunately i can't see it no more
55:25francesca you're fired thank you for the opportunity thank you thank you
55:39okay ladies go back to the house thank you
55:55this is definitely not the end of francesca kennedy war bang forget willing words
55:59work willing words i've done now i'm now looking for an investor so if you're out there hit me up guys
56:05who misspelled the word arch tick francesca had it literally drawn out as to exactly how she wanted
56:12britney was so strong about her concept oh my god oh my god
56:28when he says you're fired what was the reason that she left i think and they thought that with the
56:33correct branding we could have won and that's why it came down to francesca
56:39is that the doorbell shut up guys move around the doorbell is that the door shut up who is it
56:47good evening lord sugar good evening lord sugar you seem surprised to see me very surprised
57:01yes for your next task i'm sending you to north wales since the pandemic hit the uk staycation market
57:12has seen a 40 percent boom with tourism becoming the fastest growing industry in britain your task
57:21is to set up and run a bespoke tour now let me give you a warning if your tour doesn't live up to their
57:30expectations your clients can ask for their money back the team that makes the most profit will win
57:37and on the losing team at least one of you will be fired so get an early night and i'll see you in the
57:44ballroom in a few days time thank you we're going to wells well i haven't lost a single task so far and
57:53there's definitely no way it's starting now now 10 candidates remain the search for lord sugar's next
58:04business partner continues
58:07next time tool guides hello everyone high octane rides
58:19and in the boardroom we're in wells this is like lambs to the slaughter quite frankly a one-way ticket
58:26you're fired
58:31francesca will be joining tom allen over on bbc2 now you're fired plowing through the good the bad and
58:36the downright ugly or sashay over to bbc iplayer where nine international glamazons compete to
58:42become ultimate queen rupaul's drag race uk versus the world
