Two men are hospitalised following two separate chopping and stabbing incidents in Tobago East and West. Derrick Williams' hand was chopped off during a dispute at the Scarborough Esplanade on Monday night he also received chop wounds to the head, while Nikeishon Peters of Parlatuvier was stabbed about his head, face, and shoulder during the Castara Fisherman Fete in Tobago on Sunday. 00:00According to police, Derek Williams' hand was severed and he was also chopped in the head during a dispute with another man at the Scarborough Esplanade on Monday night.
00:12The suspect, who is also known to police, made his escape on foot while Mr. Williams was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital for treatment.
00:20Meanwhile, in another incident, on Sunday around 11.45 p.m., the victim, Nikision Peters, a 40-year-old laborer of Main Road, Paletivert, was attending the Fisherman's Fete at Castara when he got into an altercation with a man with whom he had a previous altercation.
00:42The man stabbed him about his head, face and shoulder with a sharp object before making good his escape.
00:50Nikision was taken to the Scarborough General Hospital where he was warded in a stable condition.
00:57Enquiries are continuing.
