00:00Hello and welcome to your New South Wales Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04There is a strong cold front that is moving into the southeast.
00:08In behind this you can see the speckled cloud, that's just how cold the air is that will be moving through.
00:13We're going to feel it too.
00:14So across the weekend this is moving in one after the next
00:17and there is going to be some big impacts in New South Wales across the weekend and also well into next week.
00:23So let's have a look at day by day what to expect here zoomed into New South Wales.
00:27Here we have for Friday we still have a bit of coastal activity but it's hardly extending anywhere inland.
00:32The cold front is moving across the southeast and we're just starting to experience that in the southwest.
00:37As we go into Saturday we're seeing that move into western parts.
00:41You'll notice the range is right down in through here.
00:43That acts as a block so it dries up on the other side of that.
00:47Instead we've just got a bit of cold air that is coming in with that one.
00:50Here's the next cold front back here over the Bight by the end of Saturday.
00:53Watch that one move across western Victoria and western New South Wales as we go through Sunday.
00:59So this is where all of that activity is definitely not a coastal thing just yet.
01:05So that's Sunday.
01:06Let's now move into Monday.
01:07This has a pool of cold air in the upper atmosphere.
01:10That cold air is going to run into the moisture that is just to the east of us in that massive ocean that is there.
01:17Those two are going to work together and produce a big week of weather for next week.
01:21So here we have by Monday we've still got these falls happening across the interior here over in the west.
01:26Thanks to that upper level cold pool we're starting to see that activity along the coastline too.
01:31So it's like a trough develops right along the coast that enhances the instability.
01:35You've got all of the energy from the upper level cold pool.
01:38You've got all of that moisture that's sitting there.
01:39All of those things work together to reduce some widespread wet weather.
01:43Let's have a look at Tuesday.
01:45Here we go from the south coast right up into the north.
01:48Still seeing some activity over that inland part there in the west.
01:51But most of the focus now is on that coastline.
01:54So there's Tuesday.
01:55Let's watch Wednesday.
01:57It keeps going.
01:58Let's watch Thursday.
01:59It keeps going.
02:00And then by Friday we start to have an easing trend in through there.
02:04This is going to add up.
02:06Let's first talk about when it moves over western parts.
02:08So 10 to 15 maybe.
02:105 to 10.
02:11A bit less as you move into the far northwest.
02:13So it's taking a route that takes us kind of the inland way rather than the coastal way
02:17as that moves across the southeast.
02:19So that's what we've got as it moves across those western parts.
02:22Now jump over to the east next week.
02:24So from Monday onwards, along here anything yellow 25 to 50.
02:28Anything in the dark yellow is 50 to 75 millimeters.
02:31And anything in that orangey browny tones maybe even over 100 millimeters.
02:35That is right on the coast and it's thanks to day after day after day of wet weather coming in.
02:42Let's see what that means for Sydney.
02:43So across the weekend it is good.
02:46I think we've certainly earned it after the wet weekends we've had recently.
02:49So the weekend as it stands is looking pretty good.
02:52We have a 17 on Saturday and a 16 on Sunday.
02:56So mostly sunny conditions.
02:57Enjoy it while we've got it.
02:59That rapidly changes on Monday.
03:01Look at the cold air with this one.
03:03So we're 14s and 15s.
03:05That's a chilly start to the week.
03:06Lots of showers moving through, tending to steady rain at times
03:10and the risk of thunderstorms as it comes in.
03:12That's Monday.
03:13That's Tuesday.
03:14It continues on Wednesday.
03:16Showers likely by Thursday and Friday.
03:19So it does get our easing trend as we go through the later part of the week.
03:22But some big falls coming in.
03:2425, 28, 24 millimeters starting to ease off at the end of next week.
03:28So over the weekend it's a western thing.
03:31The east coast is looking pretty good.
03:32But from Monday onwards the action really ramps up there.
