00:00on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:02Oh, my God!
00:04We want you to create a gown fit for royalty.
00:08We're dividing you up into teams of two.
00:11Oh, my God!
00:13We have to remember there's no immunity this season.
00:16That was unpleasant.
00:17That looks like you stuck it on with a hot glue gun.
00:20We wanted a modernized portrait collar.
00:22Do you love it?
00:23I'm almost there.
00:25The winning team delivered a look that was fit for a queen.
00:29Cateau and Praje.
00:31But only one designer can be crowned the overall winner.
00:34Cateau.
00:35Oh, my God!
00:37Brittany and Anna.
00:39Victor and Kane.
00:40Unfortunately, your teams had our two lowest scores.
00:45Victor, you're out.
00:53Fashion designer Christian Siriano.
00:55Journalist Elaine Welteroff.
00:57Fashion designer Brandon Maxwell.
00:59And editor-in-chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia.
01:02Are looking for America's next great fashion designer.
01:06At stake for the winner.
01:07A quarter of a million dollars supplied by Pilot Friction erasable pens.
01:12A feature in Elle magazine.
01:14And a career-changing mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
01:19This is Project Runway All Stars.
01:28Good morning, Sam!
01:29Good morning!
01:30What do you want?
01:32How do you feel?
01:33I needed to sleep and grieve.
01:36I was in the bottom last week.
01:37My friend Victor went home.
01:39I do really respect what he does with corsets and leather and costuming and stuff like that.
01:45And he really loved it.
01:47I get it.
01:48It just made it a little tough.
01:50What did you say yesterday?
01:51You're only as good as your last design on the runway.
01:53Period.
01:54Yeah.
01:59Turn the lights off.
02:02It's too dark for me.
02:04Is it spooky?
02:05Oh, my God.
02:06What is that?
02:07Is this what not to wear?
02:08Oh!
02:09Something's in there.
02:10Ooh!
02:13Oh, my God!
02:14Oh, my God!
02:15What's going on, y'all?
02:17Kristen!
02:18What are you doing?
02:19Why are you hiding?
02:20Kristen!
02:21What are you doing?
02:22Sit, sit, sit.
02:23All right, designers.
02:25I came up with this next challenge myself.
02:27You did?
02:28For this exact moment.
02:30Ooh!
02:31Okay.
02:32Wait.
02:33Whatever this is, I don't like it.
02:35There comes a point in this competition when you have to make your mark.
02:40And now, with immunity off the table more than ever, like we just saw, one day you're in, the next you can be out.
02:49Literally.
02:50Scary.
02:51I love it.
02:52I love it.
02:53Oh, yeah.
02:54I know.
02:55Each of you must create a fabulous runway look.
02:59Mm-hmm.
03:00From this single bolt of fabric.
03:02Oh!
03:03What?
03:04Come on, baby!
03:05It's gonna be on my carpet.
03:06It's stretchy.
03:07Yes!
03:08What's the fabric?
03:09It's a big bolt of fabric.
03:10It's such a primal red that this is gonna be hard to work with.
03:16It's an even playing field.
03:17Yes.
03:18Correct.
03:19That's what we need.
03:20Yeah.
03:21There are no other rules when it comes to the design.
03:23You just get to do you.
03:25So, do I love the color red?
03:28Uh, not really.
03:29But I'm so excited to put something out on the runway that really just speaks to who I am.
03:36All right, Kato, you won the last challenge.
03:39Yeah.
03:40So, for your advantage, you get first choice of models.
03:44Designers.
03:45I've always wanted to be here.
03:46I wanted to try.
03:48She cute.
03:49Girl, you killed it, but I pick Roberta.
03:52Roberta.
03:53Fabulous.
03:54Everyone else is gonna get your model by a random draw.
03:57Oh.
03:58Okay.
03:59Here comes the fun part.
04:00Oh, Jesus.
04:01Really?
04:02What?
04:03What does this mean?
04:04It's 110 yards.
04:05Okay.
04:06You guys can decide how you divide it up amongst yourselves.
04:08You guys have 45 minutes, divide the fabric up, and sketch in the workroom.
04:22Cause guess what?
04:23What?
04:24This is a one day challenge.
04:25I knew it.
04:26Yeah.
04:27I know it's coming.
04:28Oh boy.
04:29This competition just got real.
04:30Real, real.
04:31Right now.
04:32Real, real, real quick.
04:33This is the one bow challenge, which is very fitting, cause I want to bolt out of here.
04:37Come grab your fabric.
04:38Here you go.
04:39No.
04:40No.
04:41Yep.
04:42Take it to the workroom.
04:43Come on.
04:44Come on.
04:45Come on.
04:46There you go.
04:47I got it.
04:48I'm a queen.
04:49Queens don't carry stuff.
04:50All right.
04:51All right, let's set it up.
04:52All right.
04:53Let's agree on how much.
04:54Ten a piece, right?
04:55Cane, take your tens.
04:56Okay.
04:57Yes.
04:58Y'all, I'm gonna do it old school way, cause I promise you I'm good at this.
05:01One.
05:03Two.
05:04How does it feel?
05:05It's, it's dense.
05:06Yeah.
05:07Ten.
05:08Okay, Kato, I got you baby.
05:10I mean, I like the feel of it.
05:13This is a really nice sweep, huh?
05:15Is that fusible?
05:16Yes.
05:17This is actually very challenging.
05:21Same boat, same color, same fabric for all the designers.
05:25This is crazy, but it can really push the designer to do things creatively.
05:31I am using raffle constructed by the boning to make the two pieces of the cage from the top of the head and the body and let the rest of the raffle drip to the floor.
05:44I'm definitely trying to do a gender-mendy, queer, fluid look for this challenge.
05:49I've been wanting to do a pair of pants where the crotch turns into a tie closure.
05:54I think it's really a cool size inclusive way of working because it really can fit multiple shapes.
05:59I just have so many ideas and I really hope I have the time to get them all out.
06:03So I'm thinking of making definitely separates.
06:06I want a top that buttons up the front, has little strappy details, and then these like sleeves that hang off the shoulder.
06:14I want to just create this like beautiful full pant that has a placket down the center of the leg and it opens up where it's giving like old adidas but high fashion.
06:25Very sporty, cool girl.
06:28So I'm finally getting to showcase my aesthetic.
06:33I have a feeling these 11 hours are going to fly by.
06:36What do you think about all this red?
06:39It's making me sick.
06:40Yeah, same.
06:41The premise is to create an outfit to stand out from the rest of the competition.
06:47How are you going to do that if we're using the same red fabric?
06:51To stand out, I'm doing a jumpsuit that looks like a dress from the front and a jumpsuit from the back.
06:58Unexpected a little bit.
07:00What you over there doing, big boss?
07:03Oh, just you know, sewing some fabric.
07:05What color did you choose?
07:06Um, you know this red that was available?
07:09That's what I'm doing.
07:10You have to create something that showcases who we are.
07:13I do avant-garde streetwear style designs that feature something that you've probably seen but just not in the element that I created in.
07:25So I'm working on a blazer that has exaggerated shoulders.
07:30I am taking a big-ass risk because fusible interfacing is meant to make structure.
07:37But you know what?
07:38I'm using it as visible fabrication in hopes that the judges get it.
07:43Laurence, are you braiding this?
07:46Ha-ha.
07:47Ha-ha.
07:48I didn't want to know, right?
07:49When I saw the all red, I'm thinking I want to make a bomber jacket with flowers to create texture.
07:57I'm going to be in a sea of other red stuff.
08:00But nobody's going to do that the way I'm doing it.
08:04Red alert!
08:05Red alert!
08:06It's time for a walkthrough!
08:07Red alert!
08:08Yeah!
08:13Hello.
08:14What are you making?
08:15Since the judges have seen dresses all the time with me, I thought I'd show them something that I'm really passionate about, which is tailoring.
08:24Tailored suit with wide leg pants.
08:27It's my version of the power suit, but for a young girl.
08:30Fabulous.
08:31But that's not really your biggest strength.
08:33Mm-hmm.
08:34Do you think this is a challenge to be you, to show them what you do as a great, talented designer?
08:41All right.
08:42Good luck.
08:45Hi, Brittany.
08:46Hi, Christian.
08:47How did you come up with this moment here?
08:50You know, I do a lot of active wear.
08:52So I was thinking, how can I merge my love for ready-to-wear, my love for active wear into one?
08:57Mm-hmm.
08:58Since my original season, I've done a lot more active wear, a lot more athleisure,
09:02much more, like, sportier pieces.
09:04But it all kind of started on this, like, crazy whim.
09:08I had a stroke on an airplane.
09:12The ambulance came to get me at the airport, and a clot did, in fact, move to my brain, and I was fully paralyzed on the right side of my body.
09:20I relied on Peloton to kind of act as a rehab and did make a full recovery in six weeks.
09:27Weirdly enough, it changed my life for the better.
09:32My new love for fitness has kind of fueled this active wear venture.
09:38So everything will have, like, that ventridal stitch.
09:41Mm-hmm.
09:42Yeah, it's cool.
09:43It's really cool.
09:44Amazing.
09:45Good luck.
09:46Kato, our last winner.
09:47I like that.
09:48Keep it.
09:49Keep it.
09:50Our last winner.
09:51Period.
09:52Tell me everything.
09:53What are you doing?
09:54Since I can't use print or texture, I'm creating it.
09:57What I do, that Afro-Bahemian chic, no one here does that.
10:00So I'm actually envisioning some basket weaving, but just elevate the look.
10:05Maybe it's a tighter weave.
10:06It's gonna have to be.
10:07Even if, like, you wrap some cool jewelry or earrings or...
10:10Oh, yeah.
10:11Have some chunky bracelets and I'm gonna have her on.
10:13I believe in you.
10:14Me, too.
10:15All right.
10:16Good luck.
10:17Hi, Kane.
10:18Hi, darling.
10:19What's the idea?
10:20What's the concept?
10:21Kind of make a dress that would kind of work for a lot of people.
10:25This is what you sell to the store after the show.
10:29You know?
10:30Yeah.
10:31You're not doing that.
10:32My mom has that.
10:33Well, and I was kind of thinking, like, I wanted a dress.
10:35In red!
10:36You wore last Christmas.
10:37I wanted a dress for the everyday woman.
10:39Well, that is not the challenge.
10:42What do you do that is better than everyone in this room?
10:48Evening.
10:49Christian is right.
10:50This is not an everyday woman challenge.
10:52This is the time for me to shine.
10:55Hi.
10:56Bitch me, you have nothing to look at, do you?
10:58My pretty smile and my face.
11:01Big picture, what are you doing?
11:02I don't know if I'm gonna do these shoulders.
11:04I don't know if I'm gonna do this.
11:05Whoa.
11:06How to do that?
11:07It's strange, but I think that's what the judges are gonna wanna see.
11:09They wanna see something really unexpected, really cool, different, and could become a signature.
11:16Gotcha.
11:19Hi.
11:20Hi, Christian.
11:21What's happening here?
11:22Ruffles is my thing, and a texture is my thing.
11:24I want to make this more dramatic, more exaggerated.
11:27You want it to be a bit more like a piece of art.
11:30Art.
11:31Yes.
11:32Sculptural.
11:33This is your chance.
11:34This better be unbelievable.
11:36Okay?
11:41You have nothing, and your sketch is naked.
11:43And my sketch is naked.
11:44Like, literally, you got nothing.
11:47I love carousel.
11:48Like, that's my boo, but she still has a significant amount of stuff to do on her look.
11:55Right now, it's two pieces.
11:56Two pieces?
11:57Yes.
11:58So that's what you're gonna make?
11:59Yeah.
12:00It's one dress, which is a cute little hoodie dress.
12:02Okay.
12:03But then, if you wanted to wear, say, evening or something like that, just whip off that long
12:07dress and have a little short dress underneath.
12:09Okay, so it's about this reveal.
12:12It is about the reveal.
12:13Got it.
12:14Hello.
12:15Hi, Christian.
12:16How's it going?
12:17It's going.
12:18Looks like I just saw this dress.
12:21It just has the halter of the card, then it wraps up into the card dress.
12:26It's not a dress, it's a jumpsuit.
12:27Jump.
12:28It's a little safe.
12:31Mm-hmm.
12:32They are looking for the all-star to bring all-stars.
12:36Is it gonna be this, like, amazing moment up there?
12:44And I feel like this is about capturing the judges' attention.
12:53I feel like it has to be the most me.
12:56Do you think that that's the most fabulous, interesting pant you could do?
13:01Everyone is outside of their comfort zone right now.
13:04You want to shine, but you have to do it in a fabric that's been chosen for you.
13:09And I also feel like a jumpsuit that doesn't look like a jumpsuit is not boring.
13:14Those are my thoughts.
13:18Hi.
13:19Big picture, what are you doing?
13:21I want to do something like a chic street-inspired look.
13:25Mm-hmm.
13:26I thought of, like, having the zippers open up into, like, a Kalalini kind of, like, shape.
13:30That's what you should do.
13:31Really?
13:32Are you sure?
13:33That, I think, is a bit more innovative.
13:35Pushing.
13:36Okay.
13:37Something that others can't do.
13:40I think part of it...
13:41I'm fast.
13:42No, I'm not fast.
13:43You are fast.
13:44What is wrong with you?
13:45You act like I don't know you.
13:46Come on, I'm pushing you.
13:47Okay, I can't wait to see it.
13:49Hurry up.
13:50No pressure.
13:51All right, designers, your models will be here in about an hour.
13:54Right.
13:55Remember, push yourselves.
13:56This is the opportunity to stand out.
13:58Okay.
14:04Oh, cute.
14:05I'm trying to turn this suit in.
14:06A little something something?
14:07Yeah.
14:08Was that after a Christian, or were you...
14:09Yeah, it was after a Christian.
14:10I'm dripping a whole dress over a suit.
14:12Come on.
14:13You need a brain break.
14:14Let's go.
14:15Yeah, I do need a brain break.
14:16I was like, oh, I'm gonna do a dress.
14:17A little short dress.
14:18And now you're like, it's a new rule.
14:19I am most known for bringing the gowns.
14:24The elegance, the southern decadence.
14:26I love helping my clients look and feel their most beautiful.
14:29This is why I love dressing women.
14:36Hi, designers.
14:37Hi, Christian.
14:38Hi.
14:39Are we ready for a model?
14:44Yes.
14:45Here they come.
14:47Wow.
14:48Oh, Mimi.
14:49Hi.
14:50Hi.
14:51All right.
14:52This is like on my back.
14:53Oh, those are hot.
14:55Work.
14:56So then I'm gonna recut the strap.
14:58The neck was way too small.
15:00So now I need to make the collar bigger and the neck part bigger.
15:03Now, let's get you in some pants.
15:07I've never really worked with this fabric before.
15:10Working on these pants, I made them oversized so that I would have space to fit Didi.
15:15Gonna obviously take in a ton over here.
15:17But I didn't realize how tiny Didi was and made them way, way too big.
15:22This is it.
15:23The pants are amazing.
15:24And what's the top?
15:25The top is in progress.
15:26I have to recut the band so I can't show you.
15:29Oh.
15:30I really want to finish my vision.
15:32I really want to make this work.
15:33But unfortunately, my learning curve with this fabric has held me back.
15:36Definitely need to see them taking in a smidge.
15:39Got it.
15:40I know I am taking a big risk just because I think that the judges are probably expecting
15:45some kind of cool street wear pants look.
15:48And I do have that side of me and that's what I already do quite well now.
15:52I think that's it.
15:57This is it?
15:58No, I'm working on it.
16:00Do a little one.
16:04It's a little thick in the front.
16:09Okay.
16:10Pretty But Safe.
16:11That's all.
16:12Pretty But Safe.
16:13I actually love it.
16:14To make draping look like tailoring, it's not easy.
16:18That is the turn.
16:21Hmm.
16:22Interesting.
16:24Kind of a vibe.
16:25It's a vibe?
16:26It's the vibe.
16:27I like it.
16:28Awesome.
16:30But it's got to be finished perfectly.
16:31Yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:32Yes.
16:33Because you see everything.
16:34You have everything.
16:35Yeah.
16:37Yeah.
16:38What are you doing?
16:39Fitting.
16:40This is going to be all around.
16:43Uh-huh.
16:44Mm-hmm.
16:45You love that?
16:46Uh.
16:47This is the dress that not exciting him up.
16:53What else can it be?
16:55I don't know if you can just stick ruffles on this.
16:59I don't feel this is the result that I want initially.
17:03You need to figure out what this dress is, Anne.
17:06I'm going to murder you.
17:08I want to murder myself.
17:12This ruffle needs to be more interesting.
17:14Could this wrap or something?
17:16I get it.
17:17Something else.
17:18Play around with it.
17:19I have tons of ruffles to make, and it is not easy.
17:23This is the hard direction to go, but I have to make this happen.
17:27Time is never enough.
17:29Three hours, guys.
17:32Yeah, she's unzipped.
17:34Literally.
17:35Yes.
17:36Sometimes you have to take a turn.
17:38I love a turn.
17:39I love a turn.
17:40Any sleeves yet?
17:43They come in.
17:44Hmm.
17:45I work differently.
17:46This is early for me.
17:47Early.
17:48Yeah.
17:49So I'm about to have her measurements.
17:50Perfecto.
17:53All right, designers.
17:54Say goodbye to your models.
17:55Love ya.
17:56Thank you, models.
17:57We're gonna kill it.
17:59Bye.
18:00All right, designers.
18:01Come gather around.
18:02I have a little treat for you.
18:04Treat or twist?
18:05Twist or treat?
18:06It's not a twist.
18:07It's a treat.
18:08We love treats.
18:09Yes.
18:10All right, designers.
18:11This challenge is all about creating looks that stand out.
18:15And we want you guys to stand out, too.
18:18So each of you is getting a little personal shopping trip.
18:22Love it.
18:24Yeah.
18:25Fun?
18:26Yes.
18:27And guess what?
18:28What?
18:29I'm the one taking you shopping.
18:31Oh!
18:32Oh, my God!
18:33What?
18:34Because I'm the man with the Wells Fargo Active Cash Card.
18:38And I earn 2% cash rewards on purchases.
18:42That's good for me.
18:43That is great.
18:44Yeah.
18:45They're giving the winner of this challenge $10,000.
18:48Oh!
18:49Get to work.
18:50$10,000.
18:51Bye.
18:56My pants are half done.
18:57I'm starting to freak out.
18:58I don't love the material and I am not getting it to do what I need.
19:02I just didn't account for the stretch.
19:04It's just too chunky and it's too funky.
19:07How much more do you have to do?
19:09Uh, a lot.
19:10Are you going to make it though?
19:12I don't know.
19:13You don't know.
19:14I am adding more ruffles.
19:16I'm trying to figure out to make this ruffle on the body more romantic, more fun.
19:21Yeah.
19:22Anna literally just made the same dress she made a few weeks ago.
19:26I don't know if the judges are going to call her out, but we'll see how that works out.
19:31We have 30 minutes left.
19:34Ugh!
19:35I'm pressing.
19:36I'm stressing.
19:37It's the end of the work day and I should have stepped back and looked around the room
19:42because I failed to notice that there are other drapes going on in the room.
19:47My language is draping and what I am doing intentionally, I see that other people are doing as problem solving.
19:56All right, y'all.
19:58We're done.
19:59You did good.
20:00It's time to go shopping.
20:06Hi.
20:07Hello.
20:08Oh my God.
20:09Hello.
20:10Let's go shopping.
20:13That's not cute, but that's large.
20:15But that would be cool, like oversized.
20:18I love to shop.
20:20The fact that we're on Christian's dime is really cute and I know he's actually rich, so it's going to be some pretty good shopping.
20:28Those are cool.
20:29They are.
20:30That's cool, right?
20:31Everybody can use new clothes because I think by now we've like worn most of our things that we bought.
20:36They're cute, no?
20:37Bring it all up.
20:42Thank you so much.
20:44Everything was on me.
20:48Coming up.
20:49It got so short.
20:51Yeah.
20:52Fully out.
20:53Why is everybody's booty out in this challenge?
20:55Wow.
20:56It's an insult.
20:57This is no .
20:58Coming.
20:59Come, come, come.
21:00Come, come, come.
21:01Let's do this thing.
21:02Here we go.
21:03It's too much red up in here.
21:17I got to make this look stand out.
21:19It was just on the top last week.
21:21I definitely don't want to be on the bottom.
21:23And whoever wins this gets 10K.
21:25This red challenge, honey.
21:27I'm here for it.
21:28All right.
21:29One stop done.
21:3145 to go.
21:33Everybody did this draping thing.
21:35And I went in like a completely different route with like the top stitching and doing it in a sporty way.
21:42So I'm hoping that that risk is worth it.
21:46Good morning, designers.
21:47Good morning, Christian.
21:48Happy show day.
21:51Happy show day.
21:53Who wants a model?
21:54I do.
21:55Yes.
21:56Hello, gorgeous lady.
21:58Here we go.
21:59You look cute.
22:01I'll be done with this top in two minutes, but you're too early.
22:04I need to get this top done.
22:06I need to fit it on Didi.
22:08I need to finish enough that we have a look.
22:10I am a little obsessed with what Bishmi is doing.
22:15The faces on the garment.
22:18I feel like this is really clever and it's on a road that nobody else is trailing.
22:24Red's making us crazy.
22:26What was your inspiration?
22:28So I started clubbing very young.
22:31I wanted to have clothes to go out.
22:34By the time I was 15, I was already well into the nightlife scene and a great way to communicate your style is through original clothing.
22:44And I didn't have money for it.
22:46I just collect whatever scraps I had and then patch them together.
22:49And that's how I started making clothes.
22:51It makes me feel unique or empowered.
22:53And that's my favorite part.
22:55The crotch is a little wonky because I didn't get to fit you a million times.
22:58So we got to go now, ask Bishmi, because I trust him above all else.
23:01I am definitely seeing fit issues.
23:03Bish, I need you.
23:04I need you, my darling.
23:05I'm definitely starting to feel fear.
23:07The pants crotch, do I need to do this belt thing?
23:10I took the crotch and wonky.
23:11Oh, no, you're good.
23:12That's what I'm talking about.
23:13Because I took too much.
23:14I didn't take enough from the back and I took too much from the front.
23:16Don't overthink it.
23:17I'm good?
23:18Designers, when you're ready, take your models to the makeup studio and the Tresemme hair salon.
23:22You need it.
23:24Okay, so the hair, I want something sporty.
23:26Like something messy and just...
23:28Real clean, real sleek.
23:29There's a lot of volume and I don't want anything else to distract.
23:33Definitely the orange and the metallic.
23:37Is she trimming for you?
23:38That's nice.
23:39Look at all these.
23:40Get all these.
23:41Get all these.
23:42Look, there's a lot.
23:43Get them all.
23:44Hem tacking these ruffles is going to take forever.
23:46I just hope we have enough time to finish this.
23:50Let's see.
23:51A little stroke.
23:52Okay.
23:53After doing Jessica's fitting, I realized that her torso is way longer than I thought it was.
23:59Okay, well you have 10 minutes.
24:01You better cut a hem right now.
24:04It looks gorgeous back here.
24:06The booty gets covered, right?
24:07Because it's fully out.
24:08Why is everybody's booty out in this challenge?
24:11Okay.
24:14This is a this.
24:15You have like seven minutes.
24:17I know.
24:18But you know what?
24:19I'm going to do it.
24:21Five minutes, designers, and we're leaving this room.
24:24Stop stressing me.
24:26I couldn't achieve the vision that I wanted at the beginning because it is not innovative to me.
24:33We're almost there.
24:34I added a piece to the skirt that I really thought was going to be long enough.
24:39It didn't even look like it moved an inch.
24:41Just have to pull it down a little.
24:42All right, designers, that's it.
24:46All right.
24:47Let's head to the runway.
24:48So good.
24:49Iconic.
24:50Last look.
24:51Oh my God.
24:52It's not coming off.
24:53Uh-uh.
24:54The reveal is really important, but there's no way I could send her out there with a mini
24:59skirt that short.
25:00She looks beautiful.
25:01We're good here.
25:02All right, designers, time is up.
25:04Let's start the show.
25:06Judges are in their seats.
25:07Fabulous.
25:08I'm ready.
25:14Designers, how's everyone?
25:16Great.
25:17Great.
25:18It brings me so much joy to introduce you to tonight's guest judge.
25:23We have with us Emmy award-winning writer, actor, producer, and master of style.
25:34My dear friend, Lena Waithe.
25:39Take your bow, sis.
25:41Oh, God.
25:42Hi, everybody.
25:43Hi.
25:44Oh, my God.
25:47This is my favorite thing about Project Runway, is getting to see who the guest judges are.
25:53And Lena Waithe is a queer icon.
25:57It's the goosebumps.
25:58I'm so happy to be here, and I'm excited to see what you cooked up.
26:04Thank you for everything you've done for us.
26:05Thank you so much.
26:06From designer to designer, this is the most exciting thing, because when you are all having
26:12the same materials to get to see your point of view and to get to see who you are, I mean,
26:18this is really such a moment.
26:20So I'm excited to see who succeeded.
26:23I'm only excited to see who succeeded, because we never like to see a failure.
26:27You know what I mean?
26:29All right.
26:30Let's start the show.
26:31Let's do it.
26:32This look has my DNA written all over it.
26:46It's literally active wear taken in a way that's ready to wear for the runner on it.
26:52And I'm so thrilled that the judges can now see me in showing them who I am and who I've grown
26:57to be as a designer.
26:59I love the dress.
27:08It's giving exactly what I need it to do.
27:11It's very well fit onto her body.
27:14The drip is beautiful.
27:15It is completely something new for me.
27:20I'm very happy that I was able to put it off.
27:30My look goes down, and I love it.
27:31I love the way the basketweaves came together, the pants are moving, and it's very signature
27:36to me.
27:37Yeah, girl.
27:38Definitely this look represents who I am.
27:44And hopefully the judges see that and recognize it.
27:50Seeing this look come down the runway, I am really proud of the decisions that I made.
27:58When I talk about draping being the language, this is a prime example of that.
28:06It's meticulously crafted to showcase the body, but at the same time, it is an expression
28:13that only I can bring to life.
28:23From the limitation of the material and the time, even it's not the vision that I wanted
28:29at the beginning.
28:30It's so cool, and it does represent my aesthetic, and I made something very artistic and complicated,
28:42and different.
28:49Would I have liked to reveal the short, cute dress?
28:52Absolutely.
28:53It was so dope.
28:54It's still beautiful, and it stands on its own even without the reveal.
29:13Seeing my look go down the runway, Dee Dee is killing it.
29:15I love the way she's walking.
29:17I'm really proud of what I did here.
29:24A lot of the looks on the runway tonight are looking a little too similar, and I really
29:28think I did a good job of setting myself apart.
29:30This look is not so much about what I'm capable of, but more showing itself the side of me.
29:46Personally, I feel like I've done enough to be in the top.
29:49But technically, it's not the hardest thing I made.
29:54Let's just say that.
30:04I am so glad I made a gown for this runway, y'all.
30:06Yes!
30:09So different from anything I've shown before.
30:11This look has Jonathan Cain all over it, and it definitely is different from all of the other designers.
30:19You know, I don't know what in the hell to think right now.
30:22I'll tell you what I think.
30:24Please.
30:25Because it's alarming.
30:32I feel that my look stands out.
30:34I think she looks sexy.
30:35She looks sleek.
30:36She looks effortless.
30:37I love the way the zipper accents the red fabric and kind of just, like, opens up.
30:43I think I'm the only one who thought about the zippers in that way, and I think that that's what sets my design apart from the left.
30:49This look definitely represents who I am as a designer.
30:59I'm one of those people that love to take a chance.
31:06So I'm just really blown away by what I've created with this little bit of time we were provided with.
31:11Come on, Lynn!
31:12We're not having for ourselves.
31:13I know.
31:14We're picking it up.
31:15We're picking it up.
31:16Guess you all turn into drapers and minimalists.
31:17Uh-oh.
31:18Damn.
31:19It's true.
31:20She was alarmed.
31:21Designers, please step up to the runway.
31:22This was a challenge to show us what your point of view is.
31:25And unless you guys have all turned into minimalists, you all turn into drapers and minimalists.
31:28Uh-oh.
31:29Damn.
31:30It's true.
31:31There were a lot of very similar looks.
31:32And this is, at the end of the day, competition.
31:33It's true.
31:34It's true.
31:35It's true.
31:36It's true.
31:37It's true.
31:38It's true.
31:39It's true.
31:40There is a lot of confidence, and it's true.
31:41It's true.
31:42It's true.
31:43It's true.
31:44Oh, my God.
31:45This was a challenge to show us what your point of view is.
31:52And unless you guys have all turned into minimalists, there were a lot of very similar
31:58looks.
31:59And this is, at the end of the day, competition for creativity.
32:02Designers, we've scored your designs.
32:06We would like to speak to Rami, Brittany, Anna, Hester,
32:11Fabio, and Karazhan.
32:14Everyone else, that means you are in
32:16and you can leave the runway.
32:24I mean, I get to sit and drink for once.
32:27The six of you had the highest and the lowest scores.
32:32One of you will be the winner and take home
32:35$10,000, and one of you will be up.
32:40All right.
32:40We are going to start with one of our highest scores
32:44of the evening.
32:49Oh, what a treat.
32:52So, Brittany, how do you feel?
32:55Relieved after last week.
32:58I wanted to do something that was like 40 Spice
33:01if she was a Gen Z.
33:03Talk to me about the choice of the top stitching.
33:05I knew that, like, all of these pieces together could look
33:08really flat.
33:09It was probably a risk because obviously it's white and not red.
33:12It was a risk that paid off, though.
33:14So smart of you to do the top stitching.
33:17So smart of you to do the crisscross.
33:20It delivered on design, but also in practicality.
33:25It is extremely sexy, but there's something very just really
33:31fly about it.
33:32And it seems to also be refined.
33:35You really nailed it.
33:38Thank you, Brittany.
33:39Nimi, you may leave the runway.
33:41We are going to now take a look at one of our lowest scores
33:45of the evening.
33:50Oh, come on.
33:52The dress is beautiful.
33:53I think so, too.
33:55Rami?
33:56Yes.
33:57Hello?
33:57Hi.
33:58What would you say in this dress is indicative of who you are
34:03as a designer?
34:04I think incorporating the zipper into the actual dress,
34:07like the hard and the soft sort of detail.
34:09It's such a fine, easy look.
34:11To me, this feels like a rushed afterthought.
34:16It didn't flatter her body.
34:18If you have 15 minutes to make a dress, at least make it fit.
34:22I respect your opinion.
34:23I think the zipper didn't quite work for me exactly,
34:26just because I think it's almost too thin.
34:28If I'm a little far away, I have to almost be up close
34:30to really see that as a zipper.
34:31So I almost wish you would have leaned into it even more.
34:35The styling is a little problematic.
34:38I could have done without the bangle or the earring.
34:42It just needed to look a little more modern.
34:44But all in all, I like this dress.
34:46Thank you, Rami.
34:47Mariel, you can leave the runway.
34:50OK, let's bring out one of the lowest scores of the night.
34:53Hester, tell us about your look.
35:05I have never used a spongy polyester before,
35:10and so I was a little out of my element.
35:11OK, got it.
35:13Pants are a crossover bell-bottom,
35:16and then I did a side ruching.
35:18And then the top is an asymmetrical drape with a little collar over here.
35:23I think this really was a difficult challenge for you, and it shows.
35:28The ruching on the side looks sloppy.
35:32It feels unfinished.
35:34You can't hide it.
35:35You can't even style out of it.
35:36There is a lot going on.
35:39And I think, ultimately, it might just be a need to edit a little bit.
35:45You threw a Hail Mary here, let's be honest.
35:47Yeah.
35:48And I think what really, truly happened
35:50is that it just wasn't working from a construction point of view,
35:53which you've pointed out, and so you took us to Paris in the 70s.
35:56Does it look a little cheap?
35:57Yeah.
35:59Does that speak more to the fabric than your talent?
36:04I think so.
36:05I really appreciate that.
36:07OK, thank you, Hester.
36:09Didi, you may leave the runway.
36:11Let's move on to a favorite of the night.
36:17Mm-mm.
36:18Wait.
36:19No, wait.
36:19Wait, wait, wait.
36:20Wait.
36:21Wait a minute.
36:22Not good.
36:24Whew.
36:25How are you feeling?
36:27I don't know.
36:29Surprised.
36:30I wear all my jewelry because I literally thought I would go home tonight.
36:36Relax.
36:37You're in the top.
36:38So tell us about the look.
36:40Instead of doing one piece of garment, I want to make something artistic, creating this sculptural line.
36:48Oh, wow.
36:49How many more times is she going to do a ruffle dress?
36:53This is Groundhog's Day.
36:55There's nothing against Anna personally, but she makes the same exact look and she's in the top.
36:59This is a technique that you played with a little bit in unconventional materials, right?
37:03That was the, uh, uh, you remember the piano back?
37:07Yeah, that was a plastic thing.
37:09This is polyester.
37:10Got it.
37:11This challenge was about standing out, and yours stood out to me.
37:18I think it's very clear that an individual came up with it, and I think that's what we were looking for, something that just feels unlike anyone else.
37:25That's crazy.
37:26I know.
37:27I'm about to go.
37:28I'm done.
37:29That's some bull .
37:30Clearly, we can repeat looks here.
37:32Oh, boy.
37:33This whole right now is a joke.
37:34This is bull .
37:35Oh, damn.
37:36This is all stars.
37:37You got the best of the best to ever do it.
37:41It's an insult.
37:46Clearly, we can repeat looks here.
37:52As an editor, when I saw it, I zeroed in on your work, and I thought, you are creative.
38:00You worked your butt off.
38:02Anna, thank you.
38:03Shanae, you can leave the runway.
38:05When they come in here, it's going to be tense.
38:10Oh, it's going to get lit.
38:11It's going to get real, and I hope it does.
38:14I'm going to be the bartender.
38:18The next look was one of our highest scores.
38:26Karasan, how do you feel?
38:28I feel great.
38:29I'm a costume designer.
38:30I wanted to mix up what I'm known for, the gowns, the cutouts, and bring in what I'm now known for.
38:37It looked so perfectly matched to your model.
38:41You were able to show us your background as costume designer.
38:46But at the same time, you were able to edit down.
38:51It was a whole vibe.
38:53It's very cinematic.
38:54Almost as fairytale, but also dark story as well that's happening.
38:58That's what I try to do is create memories with fashion.
39:01I know, yes.
39:02It's good to know that you play in this world.
39:05And I love your work.
39:06How could they not love that?
39:07I mean, it's cool.
39:08Karasan, thank you so much.
39:10Jessica, you can leave the runway.
39:11We are going to move on to one of our lowest scores of the evening.
39:20Fabio, how are you?
39:22To be frank, I'm a little distraught.
39:24Why so?
39:25Being that I am a draper and a minimalist,
39:28I felt like all of the draping comments were directed towards this garment.
39:34I don't think any draping comments are directed at you.
39:36I don't at all.
39:37I think you should just take that off your mind before you start.
39:40Tell us about the process of making the look.
39:42This is actually a jumpsuit, so I wanted to make a look that from every angle you would see something different.
39:47So from the front is a dress, from the side you see the skin, it has a cape,
39:51and then from the back you see the pants, but it's all one piece.
39:54Fabio.
39:55Anina.
39:56To be honest with you, when she walked down the runway,
40:00I could not see the nuance that this was one piece.
40:05Okay.
40:06The drape of this is absolutely beautiful.
40:08It's just that I have definitely seen more forward experimental things from you.
40:15It's not that this is bad.
40:19It's that it's a little boring.
40:20Understood.
40:21Thank you for the comments.
40:22Thank you, Fabio.
40:23Thank you very much, designers.
40:27You can leave the runway and we'll call you back when we're ready.
40:31Thanks so much.
40:33I'm going to make my African dress on the next challenge.
40:35I don't care what it is.
40:36Because clearly we can repeat looks here.
40:38Wow.
40:39It was a weird energy.
40:43I feel the look of me like an enemy.
40:47This challenge was very deceptive because it seemed easy, but it really was not.
40:56I think what the three top designs have in common is that there's a wow factor.
41:03Yeah.
41:04We asked them to stand out.
41:05We asked them to be unique and Anna did something different.
41:09It's really remarkable that she was able to create these like believable rouge ruffles.
41:13And also, too, I think the imagination it took to create that silhouette.
41:19I know she said she wanted to be more elaborate, a little bit bigger, a little bit more dramatic.
41:23I can imagine that every designer right now is like, I can't believe she's on the top.
41:26Because it was like ruffles on like a cocktail dress.
41:29But you know what?
41:30At least it wasn't the same Grecian drape thing over and over and over and over.
41:35Gotta take that risk.
41:37Yeah.
41:38But Britney really transformed that fabric.
41:42With her stitching, with her ruching.
41:46I forgot this was crepe.
41:48And you could tell that the model felt so powerful and so comfortable and so sexy in it.
41:54I have been asking her to give us something original and she tries to push herself to be like almost in the couture space.
42:00And she needs to not do that.
42:02And it's okay to be exactly who she is.
42:05Mm-hmm.
42:06Speaking of the perfect marriage between the model and the designer, I mean, Jessica Carasan was sort of a match made in heaven tonight.
42:13I thought Carasan's look could really walk the Grammy red carpet and slay.
42:19It felt cinematic as soon as she turned the corner.
42:21So now for the difficult part.
42:23We have to choose someone that will be exiting stage left.
42:27Well, Fabio is one of them.
42:29I could understand how Fabio was confused why his draped look of all six of them was in the bottom.
42:35The look was really all about that pant that you couldn't see the pant.
42:39But we have to talk about Hester.
42:41And I understand that Hester came here in front of us being like, I've never worked with that fabric.
42:46Yep.
42:47Well, that's the challenge.
42:48Yeah.
42:49Mm-hmm.
42:50So why would it be fair for her to get a pass?
42:53Flip the light, because it was...
42:55There was a lot going on.
42:56There was so much going on.
42:57It was the shoes.
42:58It was the hat.
42:59I mean, the tough thing for me is I think Rami's I struggled with a touch more.
43:05I liked it.
43:06I thought it gave me sexy, but it was still elegant.
43:09It felt like it wasn't runway ready.
43:14I agree with Lena.
43:15I really think that Rami's look was just underwhelming.
43:18Whew.
43:19This one's gonna hurt.
43:20Yeah.
43:21Brittany, Karisan, and Anna.
43:32It's good to see three women in the top.
43:34Yes.
43:35The three of you created looks with a clear point of view.
43:41Anna, you are in.
43:47Nice job.
43:48You may leave the runway.
43:51Brittany and Karisan, we loved the concept and the execution on both of your looks.
44:01But I have to say there was one unanimous winner.
44:11Brittany, you are the winner of this challenge and the winner of $10,000.
44:20Thanks to Wells Fargo Active Cash Card.
44:23Wow.
44:25So much.
44:26Congratulations on a fantastic look.
44:28And it's really good to meet you.
44:29That's such a big honor.
44:31Yeah.
44:32Congratulations.
44:33Karisan, you are also in.
44:35Congratulations.
44:37You can both lead the runway.
44:38Finally won a challenge.
44:40After being in the bottom and almost like literally being buried alive and going home.
44:45Did you win?
44:46I did.
44:47And then to come back and make something that is worthy of a win, it feels 10 times better.
44:55Rami, Fabio and Hester, unfortunately one of you will be out.
45:00Rami, your look did not stand out to some of the judges.
45:06Hester, we appreciate you taking risks, but this time you took too many that did not work.
45:15Fabio, you hid the most important part of your look behind too much fabric and the result was too safe.
45:25Hester, I'm so sorry. You are out.
45:38Hester, you have a singular vision.
45:41You remain true to yourself and that perspective that only you have.
45:47And I'm telling you there is a place for you in this industry.
45:52Rami and Fabio, you can leave the runway.
45:56Can we give you a hug?
45:57Of course.
46:03Thank you for this opportunity.
46:05Thank you for what you've given me in the past.
46:08I respect all of you a lot.
46:10Hester, thank you so much for being with us.
46:13I think I still definitely deserve to be here.
46:17I don't really know if being in the bottom one time for a fabric you're not used to is grounds for elimination.
46:27I think at the end of the day it comes down to who can do what with what and I couldn't do anything with this and this is where I am now.
46:35I'm not trying to be disrespectful.
46:38I know.
46:39But Hester did create something very new that she had not shown the judges before and went home.
46:45Do you feel the dress you made for the unconventional challenge and this dress were similar?
46:50I know what I've done, yes.
46:52I'm not saying the same dress.
46:53I thought I'm going home.
46:54It's not her fault.
46:55It feels a little disrespectful.
46:59Wait.
47:00You guys, can I say something?
47:02We are designers.
47:03We love what we do.
47:04We have an aesthetic and now you're here creating art.
47:08So please don't bring any negativity into this thing.
47:16The mood has changed.
47:17The energy has changed.
47:19Just burn the whole day away.
47:21Just burn the whole bulk of fabric.
47:23I don't know if y'all know this, but this right here is going to divide us.
47:30Next on Project Runway All Stars.
47:33Meet the always stunning Jenny Garth.
47:35Hello.
47:36For your challenge, we are bringing back the 90s.
47:40Oh lord, here we go.
47:41This faux vinyl, I don't know.
47:43That's a bigger mannequin?
47:44Everybody's on edge.
47:45Last challenge got real ugly real quick.
47:48It still hurts.
47:50You don't have any of it done?
47:51Your choice of material was a mistake.
47:54I wanted more.
47:55The pleather is just, it's giving me Halloween costume.
47:57As a whole, I didn't get it.
