00:00This is Project Runway.
00:01Eyes on me!
00:08To be in the bottom is shocking.
00:11So I question my leadership, but I am not ready to go home.
00:16I feel like my vision and my expertise in this world of fashion needs to be seen.
00:23I'm really disappointed.
00:24It feels like shit, but I don't think my look was the worst look.
00:29It sucks, but it is what it is.
00:32Design it!
00:33Oh, come on, y'all.
00:36Under the leadership of Ethan, I kind of just made the design to be a team player.
00:41So it really wasn't what I wanted to design.
00:45I'm very annoyed.
00:46You know, you never know.
00:47Maybe this is where I get eliminated.
00:50Angelo, Joan, Utica, you created our least favorite looks.
01:02We made our decision.
01:05Joan, you're safe.
01:07You can leave the runway.
01:10Thank you, God.
01:15Angelo, your construction was bad, but your confidence was even worse.
01:24Utica, you failed as a leader, and you look disappointed as even more.
01:29One of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
01:40Angelo?
01:45I'm sorry you're out.
01:48Thank you, guys.
01:51Thank you for having me.
01:52Thank you, guys.
01:52I appreciate it.
01:57You can leave the runway.
02:04Utica, I just want you to know that this was not unanimous.
02:08If it was just my vote, you would get my offita's in today.
02:13I'm flabbergasted.
02:14I almost went home.
02:16Utica is my armor, and to have this feedback that I need to leave her at home
02:23to create beautiful work and let Ethan shine is a really tough pill to swallow.
02:29And it sucks.
02:32I'm out.
02:33No!
02:34I agree that it wasn't my best work.
02:37I disagree with the decision they made, but I guess they just didn't see the vision,
02:42or they didn't think that I could push myself more.
02:45Angelo, I think you're incredible.
02:47I think you have a lot to do in this business.
02:50So good luck.
02:50Appreciate that.
02:51I'm going to send you to the workroom and clean up your space.
02:53Say goodbye to everybody.
02:54Peace out.
02:55Bye.
02:56I gave him my all through all three challenges.
02:59Bye, daddy!
03:01I'm actually really, really proud of myself for trying new things and not being scared
03:06to push certain boundaries.
03:07But I'm definitely leaning back once I get home to what I do best, which is menswear.
03:17Getting a win is definitely some gas in the tank to keep you going.
03:21And it's like, okay.
03:22I'm doing something right.
03:23Let's keep going in this direction.
03:24Ethan, it was close.
03:25It was very close.
03:26Tasting almost going home is definitely going to light a fire under my ass.
03:31My padded ass.
03:33But the house are no more.
03:38I'm so excited that I can finally just, you know, focus on me and my design and I don't
03:45have to focus on, like, helping other designers, like dealing with Vijay, because girl, she's
03:50a bitch.
03:51Your first solo challenge is going to start sooner than you think.
03:57All these twists.
03:58Christian, I don't need another one.
03:59Oh my God!
04:00I have a feeling.
04:01It smells of happy and sad tears in here.
04:16All right.
04:17Well, for your first solo challenge, Law's going to take you guys on a field trip.
04:22What could go wrong?
04:23Good luck!
04:24So I need you all to just follow me.
04:28No, no.
04:29Wow.
04:30Wow!
04:31The science fair!
04:32Abbott Elementary!
04:33Abbott!
04:34Oh!
04:35Not Abbott Elementary up in here, y'all.
04:36They is everything.
04:37Yes!
04:38As you can see, we have two people here from the biggest show on the show.
04:51From the biggest show on the planet, Abbott Elementary, Chris Perfetti and Lisa Ann Walter.
04:58We are kind of a big deal, I'm not going to lie.
05:01So as some of you may know, Lisa and I play teachers, and we have been known to get into
05:07a fair bit of mischief on our show.
05:10Oh, did someone say fair?
05:13Because as you may notice, we are here after the school science fair, and it will be your
05:19job to provide the mischief.
05:21Designers, this is the Unconventional Materials Challenge.
05:26Woo!
05:27I knew it!
05:28I knew it!
05:29I knew it!
05:30I knew it!
05:31This is the end all, be all of Project Run, where you know every season is going to be
05:36an unconventional challenge.
05:38So I'm like, here we go.
05:40Oh, I'm excited.
05:41On RuPaul's Drag Race, I created this piece out of sleeping bags.
05:46That's the piece that put me on the map.
05:48That was all unconventional materials.
05:50So I feel like I can redeem myself from last week.
05:54Everything you see here is fair game to be used as materials.
05:59So everything from the science fair projects, to the craft table, to the sports equipment,
06:05to this banner up above you, can all be used in your work.
06:09This is a one day challenge.
06:11You'll start work tomorrow.
06:13And designers, we do not want to see a bunch of junk hot glue to some fabric.
06:19We want to see something exciting, innovative, and creative.
06:23You have exactly 20 minutes to gather your materials for your unconventional look.
06:28Designers.
06:29Ready.
06:30Set.
06:31Go!
06:32Go!
06:33Go!
06:34Go!
06:35I got a bunch of slinkies.
06:40This is the Joseph McCray pile.
06:43Do not touch it.
06:44I dare you.
06:45There's so much stuff.
06:46And I'm just like a kid.
06:47And candy stuff.
06:48Just grabbing stuff.
06:50This is like my thing.
06:52I use a lot of upholstery fabrics and different kind of like plastics.
06:56So everything that I create is made out of an unconventional material.
07:01Ah!
07:02Joseph is grabbing everything in the kitchen sink.
07:04This is mine.
07:05This is mine.
07:06And it's chaos around this gymnasium.
07:09This is so fun.
07:10Isn't it great to not be at work right now?
07:12Oh my God.
07:13I'm nauseous.
07:14Please stop.
07:15Okay.
07:16I really don't like to be rushed.
07:19This is really out of my element and it's out of my zone of creativity.
07:24I'm trying so hard to grasp onto anything.
07:28This is not how I work.
07:3010 minutes.
07:31This is mine.
07:33Those are my balls.
07:34I already have my eye on what I want to create and make.
07:37I can make something really cool and structured with the material of the volleyball.
07:41I'm like, oh my God, what materials I'm going to use?
07:44And I see this volleyball.
07:46Like I kind of want to use it.
07:48Hey, hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?
07:50The fight's working out.
07:51Fight, fight, fight, fight.
07:52This is all mine.
07:54I think BJ's a little troublemaker sometimes.
07:57She clearly had to know that that was my bag.
08:00So what are you doing?
08:01Get the balls.
08:02Get another bag, BJ.
08:03I'll get another bag.
08:0610 seconds.
08:07Is there anything left in this room?
08:09Anything at all that you want?
08:11You want the net?
08:12Yeah, I want those two nets.
08:13Five, four, three, two, one.
08:19I'm taking this, bitch.
08:21We said anything.
08:24Designers, we have no idea what you're going to make out of this stuff, but we can't wait
08:29to see.
08:30Good luck.
08:31Thank you so much.
08:33Thank you so much.
08:34Ooh, child, I am so exhausted.
08:36There you go, baby.
08:37I got you.
08:38Just wheel me on out of here, because I'm done.
08:51I think this challenge is all about expressing who we are, challenging ourselves.
08:57No more helping, because this is not a group challenge anymore.
09:03So no more helping your brother.
09:06I can't wait to see if the twins can handle an individual challenge.
09:12But I don't think it matters, because whatever they do, they're going to be working together
09:19as one.
09:20Here we go again.
09:21Miss Vijay just, you know, stirring the pot.
09:24Stop trying to make drama.
09:26Move on, everybody.
09:27Get your...
09:28Woo!
09:29Honestly, I can't wait to see what I actually got.
09:31What's she got going on over there?
09:33Who the hell knows?
09:35Bitch, it's over.
09:40I know what I'm going to make already.
09:42I'm really excited that I get to do the Unconventional Challenge.
09:45I'm making, like, leather bandaged dress out of volleyball.
09:49To me, that's unconventional.
09:51I'm looking forward to, like, tapping into my creative juices.
09:55I think this challenge could give me another win.
09:57I'm so good.
09:59I think we're going to kill it.
10:01I came into this competition to make it to the end.
10:04I do have my twin brother, and we always work as a team.
10:09But now it's like you're on your own.
10:11I have to prove myself to these judges to keep rising to the top
10:15and get that win that I'm waiting for.
10:17The last thing I want is to, like, end up in the bottom.
10:19Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen.
10:21What do you think? I should do red?
10:23I like the pink.
10:24Like Barbie?
10:25Barbie.
10:26Okay, she's Barbie with the pink bitch done.
10:28I don't think it's fair that the twins are always working together
10:32because it's an individual challenge.
10:35And they don't cover this in the pink?
10:37Yeah.
10:38That is sick, yeah.
10:39I already know what you guys can do together.
10:41I've seen it three times already.
10:44It's really a struggle, two separate twins.
10:47So, at the end of the day, one of them needs to go home.
10:51Lucky charm.
10:53Lucky charm.
10:54Lucky charm.
11:03Everyone is so excited for the unconventional challenge every season.
11:07I say, no way.
11:09It's horrible.
11:10I'm losing it.
11:12These soccer balls are bringing us back to school.
11:15Yeah.
11:16I'm making this soccer ball top and miniskirt.
11:18It's going to be so cool and so sexy.
11:21You know, my whole life is with fashion.
11:24So, when I was young, like, you know, in my childhood,
11:28I got abused for many years.
11:30Oh.
11:31And after that, I'm being like, you know, a boy who is very shy.
11:35I can't even look at people's eyes when I'm talking to people.
11:38But, you know, when my high school is coming, Lady Gaga came out.
11:42Yeah.
11:43She's so inspiring.
11:44He's the boom boom gunny.
11:45I was dead.
11:47Yeah.
11:48From there, I get into this whole new world of music and fashion.
11:53You know, I feel empowered.
11:55Because of my childhood, I realized whatever I've been through, no matter it's good or bad.
12:02This is why I am who I am as a designer.
12:06And I can spread my message to the world.
12:09I have an idea.
12:14So, you do a bomber that's, like, pokey.
12:16Or I was thinking about sewing it like this and attach the whole jacket in the corner,
12:21so I have pickable skin and the liquid juice underneath it.
12:23It's annoying that the twins share the workload.
12:26But, girl, they've been together since birth.
12:29So, it's gonna take a lot of work to separate them now.
12:32But we'll see if we can get them more.
12:35Bubble wrap or tissue?
12:36I don't think that me and Antonio have an advantage in this competition, to be honest.
12:41Honestly, exactly what we do with, like, helping each other and bouncing ideas to each other,
12:46we have been doing with every other designer in this competition.
12:50Girl.
12:52Look at here, Miss Jung.
12:53Huh?
12:54You like this?
12:55You got a big old booty, huh?
12:57Good, right?
12:58Well, I don't understand what's going on.
13:00The bigger, the better.
13:01Well, well, well.
13:04Hello.
13:07Hello.
13:08Can't wait to see how you guys measure up.
13:11Yeah.
13:12Your unconventional materials challenge.
13:14All right, I'm gonna walk around.
13:18It's a shuttercock.
13:19A what?
13:20Shuttercock.
13:21Is that how you call it?
13:22Shutter or shuttlecock?
13:24For the badminton, like when you play badminton.
13:26I know you're badminton.
13:27I love playing with shuttlecocks.
13:29But never did I know that I will use shuttlecock for Project Runway.
13:33So I cut it.
13:34You cut it?
13:35And then...
13:36Oh, beautiful.
13:37They look like lace.
13:38I mean, they're really pretty.
13:39So all over?
13:40Most likely.
13:42That's why I want to make sure that I have something that it will hold on to.
13:46Yeah.
13:47This could be very beautiful because you'll have no idea what it is.
13:50I know.
13:51Which I love.
13:52Yeah.
13:53When you were younger.
13:54It's really good.
13:55It was what?
13:56It's really good.
13:57I'm getting emotional because I had a good childhood.
13:59You had a great childhood.
14:00Yeah.
14:01So this is Tears of Joy.
14:02Yeah.
14:03Growing up as a gay guy, like a trans kid, like my parents supported me.
14:06Amazing.
14:07Yeah.
14:08They loved me.
14:09So yeah.
14:10Well, that's good.
14:11I grew up in Manila, Philippines.
14:13And if you're a trans woman living in the Philippines, you're not safe.
14:18But my parents embraced my uniqueness.
14:21So I grew up with love.
14:23And now I want to be the first trans person to win Project Runway.
14:28Ethan, didn't you just do this strip-seamed thing?
14:33Hmm.
14:34It didn't work.
14:36I got my hands on these really cool butterflies.
14:39It's going to be very referential to Alexander McQueen.
14:43And just give a beautiful shape.
14:45I really want this to be good because I have a lot to prove,
14:48especially from this flop-a-tina of this last week.
14:51This is your challenge.
14:52You make amazing, incredible things.
14:54You've got to be so innovative here.
14:56Like, this is looking beautiful.
14:58I love it.
14:59But like, the whole thing has to be that.
15:01Like, go in your archives.
15:03Like, you know what?
15:04I made that amazing dress for whatever.
15:05Let's do something like that.
15:06Yeah.
15:07And they don't have that.
15:08Because I need some cool shit.
15:10You have so much cool shit.
15:12Christian drives me up a wall sometimes.
15:15Let's go.
15:17Not there.
15:18I, of course, take it with grace.
15:20But in my head, I'm like,
15:21You're not going to die.
15:23Joan?
15:26That glitter paper and popsicle sticks?
15:29Are you serious?
15:30Joan, I swear to God, if you make a popsicle dress...
15:33Underneath is the corset.
15:34It's going to be like a Josephine Baker inspiration type.
15:38I get it.
15:39I love that.
15:40So this is the corset there in the middle.
15:43And then I was able to curl the popsicle sticks to kind of make it set away.
15:50Oh, I think you should cut them and zigzag them or weave them or fold them or...
15:57I really think they need to see who Joan is.
15:59Like, make it feel glamorous and beautiful.
16:01And like, you got popsicle sticks, so how are you going to do that?
16:03Mm-hmm.
16:04I hear Christian, I need to find a way to incorporate my style and personality into the popsicle sticks.
16:12So I'm going to spray paint the entire garment black.
16:15And I want it to almost look like a leather corset.
16:18Were you good in high school?
16:20Yeah, I was good.
16:21You were good in high school?
16:22I was a cheerleader.
16:23Oh, you were a cheerleader?
16:24Yes.
16:25I was captain of the cheerleading squad.
16:26You were captain?
16:27Yes.
16:32Wow, Joan.
16:33I'm learning a lot.
16:35It's to the next level.
16:37Hey, hey.
16:38Hey, hey.
16:39Hmm.
16:42What are you doing over here?
16:44What is this material?
16:46Vinyl from the gym mats.
16:48And I'm repurposing it as a raincoat.
16:51You can't make a vinyl raincoat.
16:54Like, no way.
16:55That already exists in the world.
16:57It's not innovative.
16:58It's not unconventional at all.
17:00Each challenge, I feel like I'm getting closer and stronger.
17:02I'm getting closer and stronger to understanding myself as a designer.
17:05But now that he totally took a poop on my idea, I have to throw it out.
17:10Okay.
17:11Nope.
17:12No raincoat.
17:13I'm gonna make a romper and just keep it going with a romper.
17:15Okay.
17:16That's gonna look good.
17:19What are you doing?
17:20The inspiration is I want to do a coat with the hood.
17:23Mm-hmm.
17:24And then...
17:25So the whole coat is gonna be in these flag pieces.
17:27Yes.
17:28I'm making an oversized bomber jacket out of these flags stuffed with tissue with a vinyl bubble cocktail dress.
17:35You've got to make this coat amazing because it's kind of your moment.
17:40Yeah.
17:41And then with the dress, I just don't think it should be so sheer everywhere.
17:45Okay.
17:46All right.
17:47You have a lot to make.
17:48I'm excited.
17:49I am an amazing designer and stylist on my own.
17:52This design is gonna improve without my brother.
17:55I am a strong competitor.
17:56This is deeply out of my comfort zone.
17:58Deeply.
17:59Yes.
18:00Deeply.
18:01You're not an unconventional girl.
18:02No.
18:03I'm struggling.
18:04Have you done anything like this ever?
18:05No.
18:06All right.
18:07Think about your clothes.
18:08I like that they're kind of mod.
18:09They're a little 60s.
18:10They've got that kind of vibe.
18:11Mm-hmm.
18:12So why don't you play into this hard, futuristic-y, mod, weird, quirky, cool?
18:17Mm-hmm.
18:18Why can't it be that?
18:19Yeah.
18:20Don't lose, team.
18:21You're doing awesome.
18:22They love what you make.
18:23I'm just really worried about what I'm gonna do.
18:26I'm in trouble.
18:28This is the banner from the science fair.
18:30I had this idea of doing, like, a jersey dress.
18:33Mm-hmm.
18:34Oh, so this is the shape, kind of like a kimono-y.
18:37Yes.
18:38Me having a degree in electrical engineering, this is the perfect opportunity for me to merge my fashion and my technical background.
18:45So I'm using the science fair banner as the base of my garment.
18:49Electrical wires for the lace-up back.
18:52So it's giving this whole, like, cross between technology and fashion.
18:57Already your clothes and your shapes are fabulous.
19:00Mm-hmm.
19:01They already know you can do that.
19:02So maybe you should push the innovation.
19:04There's nothing to say, honestly, about Joseph's look.
19:08You see a square and a circle.
19:11I think he's afraid to take risks.
19:14They're gonna love it or hate it, but they're gonna see it, and they're gonna know who it is, and that's always the goal.
19:19If what I see is what Joseph is gonna send on the runway, he's gonna go home.
19:26Hi!
19:27You love the tiniest skirt in the world.
19:28I'm gonna add more panels.
19:29Oh, you're gonna add more panels?
19:30Thank you so much.
19:31I'm sure she would love that, too.
19:32I love you, Chin, as a designer, but I just think that this look is just too revealing.
19:47But I'm just a little old lady.
19:50It's not unconventional if you're just using fabric.
19:54I gotta get the fit right first before I make it pretty, Christian.
19:57You need a manual for this coat.
19:59Where do you put your arms?
20:00I didn't realize you didn't have much done.
20:02I'm looking for an intern.
20:04Do you wanna apply?
20:05You can't afford me.
20:06What is happening?
20:09You have to get the dress done.
20:11No, I know.
20:12My plan of attack is to make a base and then cover it up with all of the silver shit.
20:16It's just a bunch of sewing and a bunch of gluing.
20:19Oh, yeah, it's just like a bunch of sewing and gluing and making a whole dress.
20:22Oh, welcome.
20:23I am going to have to pull this one out of my ass.
20:30It's something.
20:32I tried this dress on Jessica, and it is not doing what I need it to do.
20:36The vinyl is, like, super stiff.
20:39It didn't fall like I wanted it to.
20:41I gotta realign.
20:43I gotta readjust.
20:44What are you doing?
20:45You're just gonna cut it?
20:46Yeah.
20:47I gotta figure something out, because I cannot send this down a runway like this.
20:52Designers, say goodbye to your models.
20:59B, aggressive.
21:00B, B, aggressive.
21:02B, E, H, I, B, S, I got B, E, H.
21:05Oh, my God.
21:06Oh, my God.
21:07Oh, my God.
21:09Whoa.
21:10Come on, he's down.
21:11Oh, he's down there.
21:15Ooh.
21:16A lot of work needs to be done today.
21:19The runway is today, and I only have a couple hours to cover this dress.
21:23so I am locked in.
21:27If I don't cover this whole dress,
21:29I could be on the chopping block.
21:35Oh, no, it broke.
21:36This is not gonna work for me.
21:39Miss Joan, look what I made you.
21:41Ooh, chao.
21:42Chao.
21:43Okay.
21:44No, ma'am.
21:47It's called the Joan Floss.
21:50Hello.
21:51Hi.
21:52So, before I send in your model,
21:54there's just one small thing.
21:57Here we go.
21:59The runway show is happening right here
22:03in the workroom in two and a half hours.
22:05Whoa.
22:07What?
22:08Yep. Right here.
22:10Let me tell you, in this room, you can see it all.
22:13I really don't think what I'm doing
22:17is going to look very good in this lighting.
22:19I'm in trouble.
22:20This is the first ever in Project Runway history, actually.
22:23Wow.
22:24Like we said in the beginning, new home, new rules.
22:28I'm excited.
22:29I feel like you need a model.
22:30All right, ladies, let's go.
22:31Yeah.
22:32Hi, girl.
22:33Hi.
22:34What do you think?
22:35That's everything.
22:37Madeline, you're not done?
22:38I'm really far behind.
22:40This is it.
22:41This goes across the middle.
22:43I love her, but I don't like Joan's look.
22:45I just think it's so simple for the amount of time that we had.
22:48Well, it doesn't look like a Popsicle anymore.
22:51I don't really know what it looks like.
22:53So she's like a denim Barbie with a pink flag coat.
23:01I am a little worried.
23:04I'm not worried.
23:05Did you see around the work room?
23:07I mean, Jushin's look, what is he doing with the soccer balls?
23:12For me, that's not unconventional.
23:13It's just soccer balls caught up.
23:15Don't waste your worry on me.
23:17You're very confident.
23:19You've got to be confident.
23:21We have 29 minutes.
23:23It's the final stretch.
23:24Oh, fabulous.
23:27You just make it higher to here and just 20 times.
23:30I want the lashes big.
23:31Could you put two on here?
23:33Yeah.
23:34This is sickening.
23:35I want the lashes big.
23:36Could you put two on here?
23:37You ate that.
23:38Models have to be dressed.
23:41I mean, the whole booty is out.
23:44I am missing a piece here.
23:46So you're getting an A.
23:47It's a huge advantage to have your family member, best friend,
23:50and twin here.
23:51I clearly need support, obviously.
23:54And I'm jealous.
23:55I told you guys, they're working together again.
24:00They just have to deal with it.
24:01All right, designers, that's it.
24:03That's time.
24:04Oh.
24:04Models, come with me.
24:07Oh, he's getting spiked.
24:09OK, ready for a workroom runway show?
24:12Yeah.
24:12Let's go.
24:13The first ever.
24:14I'm excited.
24:16Every designer better bring their A game,
24:18because workroom runway, the lights are brighter,
24:21clothes are judges.
24:22So the design better be perfect.
24:25I struggled, and I'm really worried about it.
24:27I'm thinking I'm going to be in the bottom or kicked out.
24:29This is pretty unconventional.
24:31The runway, everything.
24:33Let's bring out our judge for this unconventional materials
24:36challenge.
24:37And yes, our judge.
24:39One judge.
24:40One judge.
24:41Oh, judge.
24:43Come on.
24:44Oh my god, one judge.
24:47Please don't let it be law.
24:48Please don't let it be law.
24:49If it's law, I'm screwed.
24:52Let's bring out our judge for this unconventional materials
24:59challenge.
25:00And yes, our judge.
25:03OK.
25:04Oh, judge.
25:04Oh!
25:13The bitch is back.
25:15What?
25:15What the law?
25:16The FDA award-winning stylist, image architect, icon,
25:24Law Rouch.
25:25Oh, this is going to be interesting.
25:30Law is very critical in his judging.
25:33He can really push your buttons and get that dark side
25:36out of you.
25:37As you know, I started the challenge with you,
25:39so it was only right that I end the challenge with you.
25:42Yes.
25:43For this first individual challenge,
25:46you were tasked to make a look with unconventional materials
25:49from a middle school and a science fair at that.
25:52That's hard.
25:53I have no idea what you guys grab,
25:55but I hope this runaway show is anything but elementary.
25:59Let's do it.
26:07When my model is working on the runway,
26:09I feel so excited, so fresh, and so happy.
26:14I love my soccer ball miniskirt.
26:16And the booty.
26:17I think it's super bold.
26:23Really proud about my work.
26:25Transforming Charlotte Cox and creating a piece that looks
26:28like lace is a huge achievement for this challenge.
26:32So I'm like, OK, I hope that they appreciate it.
26:35Oh my god, maybe this is the time that I will win.
26:37You know, watching it walk down the runway,
26:43it's not as bad as I remembered.
26:45The lighting is actually helping.
26:47It's shining.
26:48It's reflecting.
26:50I still think I'm going to be in the bottom as I'm watching it,
26:54but I'm like, it's really not as bad as I thought
26:56it was going to be.
26:57Using this vinyl banner, I am taking a chance that they may
27:08think it's not unconventional enough.
27:10Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad girl.
27:12I just hope that Long gets the vision of this, like,
27:16bad rebel schoolgirl that does not care.
27:20I want snacks.
27:22I think it looks cool.
27:24I think it definitely looks wearable.
27:26I think the colors are fun and bright.
27:29That's the piece, I'm the artist.
27:31Roll it, definitely me.
27:32Bucket hat, definitely me.
27:34Shorts, absolutely me.
27:36Vest, it looks cute.
27:40I'm cautiously proud of it.
27:42I'm determined to listen to my own individual design
27:44and voices.
27:46Hit them with a flag.
27:47I'm not going to be a flag.
27:48I'm not going to be a flag.
27:50I'm not going to be a flag.
27:51I'm not going to be a flag.
27:52It's better than the best.
27:53Come on, rock star.
27:55I'm extremely proud of myself with what I created
27:58with Unconventional.
27:59I look at this look, and I'm like, wow, I can totally see
28:02this, like, an artist, for sure.
28:05I want Law to notice, like, all the hard work that it took
28:09to create this pattern out of just volleyballs.
28:11I want him to notice the structure.
28:13I want him to notice the material.
28:15But I also want him to wonder, what is it made out of?
28:18Because it looks really good.
28:19I do it so.
28:21I like my look going down the runway.
28:25It looks super tribal, and you can't really even tell
28:29that it's made from popsicle sticks.
28:31It's supposed to be like a snakeskin.
28:33I think I was very successful in using these unconventional
28:38materials.
28:39because I met the challenge head-on.
28:43Woo!
28:47She's flying down the runway.
28:48It's excessive.
28:49There is a busy but very refined look to it.
28:54Law is really difficult to read.
28:57But I know that I killed it this week.
29:00So I'm excited to hear what he thinks.
29:02I am like Ethan would say, gagged.
29:09My look is impeccably made.
29:10I'm not concerned.
29:11I feel like I made a runway piece.
29:13I wanted the lights on her.
29:14I wanted to walk that runway.
29:16the lights on her i wanted to walk that runway i understood the assignment i feel confident in my
29:21look i can't wait for you to see who made this i'm gagged i am gagged i have no idea who made what
29:30it's a blind runway and it is stressing me out at this point of the competition i definitely feel
29:38like i still have to prove that i can do this by myself so here we go give me a win bitch
29:46all right law made some decisions oh god i feel like law and i have a hate and love relationship
29:55i'm nervous i truly have no idea who made what so i am gonna be so surprised it's a blind runway
30:03are you ready to see law's favorite look yes yes
30:13wow good job oh wow which designer did this do you want to come stand by your look wow
30:21so long is that who you thought it was no no i am pleasantly surprised your look was cohesive
30:31inspired this is high camp creativity overload it just reminds me of like old gaga like my favorite
30:38part is that little piece of underboot like ah can i see the little booty one more time yes the way it
30:46shapes her body it is so good i am very impressed and very surprised welcome to the competition well
30:53yuchen congratulations you are the winner of the unconventional challenge thank you guys thank you guys
31:02i feel so blessed so happy to win the challenge i feel so honored when law say lady gaga because
31:10lady gaga is the one who saved me and lady gaga is the reason that i'm doing fashion so this is a
31:17ultimate compliment i think well deserved can i say that to myself law what about any honorable mentions
31:24there was one that was completely covered in butterflies that i thought was really really well done
31:30and really beautiful oh thank you so much high drag baby high drag yes i have redeemed myself from last
31:44week oh what a whirlwind this competition has been so i am i'm feeling on top of the world i also really
31:51like the one that was made out of the um what do you call it cock rings not cock rings what is it
32:00what is it what is it called shuttlecocks shuttlecocks the one that was made out of shuttlecocks i thought
32:06that was really incredible so raise your hand if that was your design
32:13i think that my dress is so much better than yuchen but i am happy that they see the craftsmanship
32:19i am happy that i'm one of the top three but i did not come to project runway to win challenges i am here
32:25in project runway to win the entire thing vj's look it's interesting but vj's been all over the map
32:32i still truly don't know what her aesthetic is all right now what law felt did not make the winning
32:38grade law had three least favorites first lookout
32:44it's just too many things for me joseph to me i just felt like someone was trying to fool me to look
32:54at all these things i'm like oh it's this ensemble and it's fab and i just didn't think it was fab at
32:59all i keep looking at it and the little droplets just look like crack vials and it's like disturbing me
33:06you also signed it and i felt that that was really cocky all right joseph thank you
33:14it's definitely a shocker to be in the bottom and it just hurts that law felt like my name on the back
33:20of my garment was cocky because that's not where it was coming from i love my look down down i was not
33:27expecting this at all all right so now another one of laws least favorite looks
33:37is that she's how i designed it no it just looks so sad i don't get the golden silver earring i don't
33:43understand the transparent shoe painting it black was not a good choice it looks like dead vegetation
33:50just throw her in a compost wow i'm taken aback by these comments this is the second week in a row that
33:59i'm getting feedback from law and it's just not favorable i just don't know where to go from here
34:04yes all right let's bring out the last of law's least favorite look
34:16i didn't know who look this was you standing next to it i don't think i would have got this
34:23i thought i was gonna be the winner so you huh you are here totally based on the styling of this look
34:32i like the dress a lot but the denim boots and that denim bag took me out i would be doing you a
34:38disservice if i didn't teach you those things right that's why i'm here to share my expertise and i like
34:43it i mean he said he likes it he's making it works for you and we can fight all day about it you can
34:53tell me you like it you sticking out for your brother but it's ugly it's wrong it takes away from the fun
34:58of it honestly like law is so sassy and he's so bitchy but like i don't care i'm so proud of antonio
35:05because i think like he's truly finding himself as a designer in this competition this could have
35:10very well been at the grammys but not with that boot all right thank you lose you can leave the runway
35:17i know i'm an amazing stylist so i was blown away with this whole situation i'm confused
35:23law picked his least favorite looks fashion is full of difficult decisions and the decision of which
35:34designer is going to be out will be made by all of you no that's right you'll be deciding who had the
35:46worst look so you chin and all of the designers that are not in the bottom three have a vote for
35:53which of the bottom three designers will be in and who is out and maybe there's someone who just wants
36:01you out of the competition
36:06holy guacamole this can be happening we have to vote someone out us what all right so safe designers
36:16want to head to the lounge joan joseph antonio you guys can head to the sewing room okay the last
36:22thing i want to do is to be a part of crushing someone's dreams this is bullshit just got real
36:33i need a glass of wine after that that was a curveball didn't see this coming this is a big decision
36:50i'm speechless my brother's in the bottom three i cannot allow anyone to vote antonio off right now
36:58what do you guys think it's just really sad that we have to choose somebody to go home because if
37:03it was really up to me i would really keep them because they're part of my growth and they're part of
37:08my journey and i don't i don't want to send anybody home of course i'm not going to take antonio out
37:16because i truly do not believe he should be going home because i really did love his love
37:21i am very partial to joseph's look and i am obsessed with this aesthetic and i really want
37:30to see him here because i just love his work i know but in my opinion how many more skater skirts or
37:38big oversized stuff are we going to see for me miss jones has delivered beautiful pieces besides this one
37:45which is unconventional we need to consider the challenge miss joan transformed the unconventional
37:52material compared to joseph to show that circle skirt in the square is an insult literally we are here
38:02to push ourselves i think as designers it's our responsibility to create amazing stuff just to give
38:09back you know the the effort that they've been doing for us they're doing this for us they're giving
38:15us a platform to show our work to amazing people and there's a lot of designers who want that spot
38:24and for you to give me a circle skirt in a square it's an insult i don't think it's an insult i really
38:30disagree with that point see that's that's what i'm saying it's like i'm not i'm not taking it against
38:35him i'm taking on what i saw we have 16 hours and i'm like it's like you know like it's a valid point
38:43i don't think it's a valid point honestly i think no matter how much time you have like you can make
38:49something simple and it can be more beautiful than spending a time on like an elaborate corset or
38:53something you know the challenge was unconventional yeah i mean what's unconventional about a huge banner
39:00that it's literally five yards that looks like fabric i've seen amazing work for me that's why
39:06i'm like i was i was so surprised because i wasn't well then judge it on his catalog of work
39:12i think subjectively miss jones is the worst she bit off a lot she worked with a very difficult
39:19material and she did the best she could with it but comparative to everybody else it really was
39:24not that good maybe it's not beautiful for you it's not your aesthetic but i think she fulfilled
39:31the challenge i agree trust me i love joseph i think joseph that's why i'm so annoyed because
39:37i know he's good this is about creativity and for you to show me that like there's no creativity there
39:44i'm not necessarily worried about myself because it's just like i stand in my truth 100 you look at
39:50joseph mccray you see joseph mccray if that's intimidating so be it but do i want to go home
39:56no do what you think is right i'm not convincing anyone but that's just if i'm gonna base it out of
40:02the challenge i felt that miss joan transformed unconventional challenge better than joseph
40:10i don't know what's going on i don't think that my garment was that bad i may be voted out but i'm not
40:17ready to go home i am ready to take it to the end i have so much more to show this is so up it's
40:25horrible i don't want to vote for any of them i love everybody but we have committed decisions that's
40:29it i feel like there's a lot going on and it's giving me anxiety i'm like this could be a strategy
40:36and the designers can try to kick me out because they've been trying to separate my brother and i
40:41or they're really gonna send the person that's been doing the same over and over and over joseph mccray
40:47i'm not voting for joseph i'm just not wow wow wow i don't want to have to vote for anybody but
40:55you have to vote for somebody splitting up the twins would be so gaggy i think
