00:00Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:03For your challenge, you'll create one runway look
00:06that showcases two styles.
00:10It's great. I'm glad you made it short.
00:11Me too.
00:12Hopefully they do too, Christian.
00:14All my plans are failing.
00:18The winner of this challenge,
00:19best showcase their contrasting styles.
00:22The winner is...
00:24Laurence.
00:27That's three wins for you, Laurence.
00:29I'll take it.
00:30Rajay, Bishmi, Kato.
00:33Two of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
00:37Kato, I'm sorry, but you are out.
00:41There's nothing wrong with my outfit.
00:42I don't care what anybody says.
00:44It was precise, so nothing that's been said today
00:46is going to take anything from me.
00:48Peace out.
00:54Fashion designer, Christian Siriano.
00:57Journalist Elaine Welteroff.
00:59Fashion designer, Brandon Maxwell.
01:01And editor-in-chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia,
01:04are looking for America's next great fashion designer.
01:07At stake for the winner, a quarter of a million dollars,
01:11supplied by Pilot Friction Erasable Pens.
01:13A feature in Elle magazine.
01:16And a career-changing mentorship
01:17with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
01:20This is Project Runway All-Stars.
01:29Hi.
01:30What's your winner, winner?
01:31My female companion.
01:33They me hard last night, put me in the bottom.
01:35It makes you very self-conscious.
01:37It's important to remember, whether it's off or bottom
01:40or safe, you're kept here because your creative voice
01:43is important.
01:44Exactly.
01:45That's all cool and dandy, but my ass still hurts, so.
01:48My ass hurt before, girl?
01:49Fair.
01:50I think we all rocked the bottom.
01:51Yes.
01:52I mean, you know the day, you know,
01:53I don't think I've let it bring me down.
01:55I continue to push.
01:56No, you have.
01:56You've done really good.
01:57And that's what I'm going to do.
01:58Until they actually really walk me to the door,
02:00that's what the you're going to get.
02:02I think we're all realizing how close we are to the finals,
02:05so everyone is at a very sensitive time right now.
02:08How does it feel to have the Triple Crown?
02:11Triple Crown?
02:12It's not a crown, but it feels great.
02:18What else is going on?
02:19I didn't come here to win challenges.
02:20I came here to win the competition.
02:22The finale.
02:32And then there were five.
02:37Oh, boy, he's wearing feathers or a broom.
02:41Yeah, feathers.
02:44Oh, my God.
02:45Look, Prajai, it is a fan for you.
02:49Hello.
02:50Oh, my God.
02:51As you can see by my fabulous fan,
02:54Yeah.
02:55the era of male peacocking is upon us.
02:59What's a male peacocking?
03:01Male peacocking.
03:02Male peacocking, darling.
03:03All right.
03:04Red carpet fashion is no longer just for the ladies.
03:09Timothee Chalamet wowed at the Venice Film Festival.
03:13Little Nas X shutting down the VMAs.
03:16Laurence, you get it?
03:17Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it.
03:18Oh, yeah, yeah.
03:19Peacocking.
03:20Peacocking.
03:20All right.
03:21Designers, your challenge, embrace the peacocking trend
03:25and create a striking red carpet menswear look
03:31worthy of 1,000 flashbulbs.
03:32Want to stand out and attract the most attention possible,
03:36but by still being chic.
03:38And guess what?
03:39It's a two-day challenge.
03:40Yay.
03:42And I have more good news.
03:44What is it?
03:45The winner of this challenge will get $5,000.
03:49Wow.
03:51All right, you guys have 30 minutes now
03:53to sketch in the workroom,
03:54and I will meet you at Mood when you're done.
03:56All right.
03:57All right.
03:59Thanks.
04:04All right, let's see what we got.
04:06What's happening here?
04:07Should we just flip them then?
04:09Flip them out.
04:09Let's just look.
04:11Flip them out.
04:11Let's just look and see what we've got.
04:12OK.
04:13He's cute.
04:13He's got a good butt.
04:14That's who I want, Eric.
04:16I think I want this guy.
04:18I have Keenan.
04:18I am not that much of a peacocker,
04:21but I love creating bold looks.
04:25Follow me as a sketch.
04:26I'm really excited, honestly.
04:28I don't know how to sketch me and stuff,
04:29but we're going to use this lady.
04:31I've been peacocking my whole life.
04:33They used to pick on me, calling me gay and all kind of stuff,
04:36but I wore my skinny jeans.
04:37I've been wearing pink for God knows how long.
04:39I'm doing a take on the butler's jacket
04:41by creating a very cropped laser with a dinner
04:44jacket lapel with high-waisted pants.
04:47I think I want some art incorporated into this madness.
04:50So I'm just used to women's croquis,
04:52so I think I'm just going to draw women's croquis.
04:54But let's put the style on it.
04:57Less curves.
04:58All right, guys.
04:59Let's go find some men at Mood.
05:00Let's go shop.
05:05Back again.
05:06Morning.
05:06Hi, designers.
05:07Hello.
05:08Hello.
05:08Laurence.
05:09As the winner of the last challenge,
05:11you win an advantage, an extra $200.
05:15Yeah.
05:16So $950 for you.
05:18That's a lot of money.
05:19And $750 for the rest of you.
05:22Ready?
05:22Yeah.
05:23Go.
05:2430 minutes.
05:25It goes quick.
05:25You in another fabric area other than leather?
05:34I mean, I'm still going there.
05:35Oh, yeah, you're still going there.
05:36OK.
05:36Well, I'm thinking about making a four-piece situation, right?
05:40Skinny pants, a kilt, a shirt, and on top, a sleeveless jacket.
05:47I love a kilt on a man.
05:49Why is it covered?
05:50Because it's on hold for somebody.
05:51All right.
05:53Oh, wait, they didn't pick that up yet?
05:54That's for you?
05:55What?
05:56Sorry.
05:57It's on hold for someone very famous.
06:01I can't give it to you.
06:02I just want it to look cool and dope.
06:04Rami, what are you going to do?
06:05I want to do a deconstructed suit jacket.
06:09What?
06:10Christian, let me just explain, please.
06:11I'm listening, I'm listening, I'm listening.
06:12I think that some people think that draping is just for women,
06:15but I really want to incorporate that into a men's challenge.
06:19So the sleeve on the jacket, instead of having
06:22a straight seam, the seam actually wraps around,
06:25and the seam becomes the design itself.
06:28What if he wore the coolest, most amazing,
06:32draped, slinky, like, skirt pants?
06:37I like that.
06:38I'll put three yards of this when you have a minute.
06:41You love this?
06:42You love this?
06:42I love this.
06:43I keep coming back to it.
06:44And I thought that with the peacocking thing,
06:47I can make it cool that it's like both sides.
06:50I'm going to make this really beautiful pair of pants
06:53that have the placket that I love so much.
06:55One garment can be styled in many different ways
06:58with just simply snapping it closed or opening it up.
07:02Designers, 10-minute warning.
07:06Can I get four yards of this?
07:08And there's a price check on aisle two.
07:11I'll be right back, thank you.
07:12It's going to be very minty.
07:13Well, guess what?
07:14You have two minutes.
07:18Give me eight yards, please.
07:19And the silk area, I find this pink silk pique fabric.
07:24It does catch your eye.
07:26Can I get three yards of this, please?
07:27And with that bronze metallic mesh, it will make it pop.
07:32We're peacocking.
07:33All right, designers, that's it.
07:34That's time.
07:36Bye.
07:37Thanks, Christian.
07:38Thanks, Christian.
07:39Bye.
07:40Bye.
07:48Rami, have you ever done custom menswear?
07:53I've made myself some pieces, but like most of my clients are.
07:58Women?
07:58Yeah.
07:58Same.
07:59It took me a long time to get over that like tuxedo challenge.
08:05Yes.
08:05It took me a long time to get over that.
08:07I'm shocked that this is your design.
08:09It felt like a douchey Hamptons party.
08:11Oh, stop.
08:14I've had three years to, you know, run through my head what I could have done differently,
08:19but I cannot be second-guessing myself.
08:21I have to come in here and show that I am indeed a confident designer that knows what
08:28she contributes to the industry and do that full force.
08:33Coming up?
08:34Ow.
08:35Are you okay?
08:36I'm going to poke the .
08:37All right.
08:38Bloody hell.
08:39I'm so stressed.
08:40That's like a designer's nightmare because sometimes you can't get the blood out.
08:46That look, oh , Basquiat.
09:03This means wealth.
09:04For this look, I want to express who I am.
09:08So what is drawn onto the actual fabric is what is called a veve, and that is a marking
09:14that's usually displayed in voodoo ceremonies, and it's exciting to me to see it come to
09:19life in an actual garment.
09:21Hi, everybody.
09:22Hi.
09:23Hola, Christian.
09:24Hey, Christian.
09:25Oh, my gosh.
09:26It's so quiet.
09:27Really so quiet.
09:28All right.
09:29I'm coming to see you.
09:30All right.
09:31Having been a finalist and having shown my collection before, I know firsthand it really
09:36does make a difference in one's career, and this is the place where it's important for
09:41a designer to make their mark.
09:42Brittany.
09:43Hey, Christian.
09:44We're peacocking.
09:45We are.
09:46You're almost literally peacocking.
09:47This, like, looks like a peacock.
09:49Tell me, what's the vibe here?
09:51What is your thought?
09:52What do you want to do?
09:53So I cut, like, a flared trouser.
09:56And a beautiful blouse.
09:57Yeah.
09:58And then I was thinking about doing some type of, like, bow.
10:00Bow ascot.
10:01Yeah.
10:02Like a Gucci feel.
10:03You don't seem like you're worried about doing menswear this time.
10:05I'm not.
10:06I've been thinking about it for a long time.
10:07You didn't do great.
10:08You didn't do great last time.
10:09I know.
10:10I was blessed to have Colin come in for the below deck thing because he helped me get
10:14my bearings.
10:15And then having this, it's like, okay, now I've done the technical part.
10:17Let me just, like, actually push an aesthetic for menswear and have fun with it.
10:21Yeah.
10:22Good luck.
10:24I'm excited to see this.
10:25Me too.
10:26Hola.
10:27Wow.
10:28Pleating?
10:29Mm-hmm.
10:30It gives you a skirt vibe.
10:31So the front is a little shorter than the back.
10:32I've got my pants underneath.
10:33And the top, I want to do a bulletproof vest.
10:35What do you mean?
10:36What are you talking about?
10:37Where are we going?
10:38A leather bulletproof vest.
10:39She just woke up today and said, I want to make a bulletproof vest.
10:43Okay.
10:44And underneath that, I'll have a very flowy chemisier.
10:50Even you're laughing because this is insanity.
10:54So he gets a chiffon blouson.
10:57A chiffon with me, uh, un peu de paillettes.
11:00I know it sounds crazy, but in my head, I told you, it looks great.
11:03It looks, oh, well, I'm so happy that in your head, it looks great.
11:07Because in my head, you're crazy.
11:08No, no.
11:09It's a shirtless vest.
11:10I promise you.
11:11It's actually smaller than the one you're wearing right now.
11:14Good luck.
11:16I got to go get my vest tested.
11:22Ooh, that looks cool.
11:25Proje.
11:26What do these symbols mean?
11:27Well, this means wealth.
11:29It's called a veve.
11:30Then a voodoo ceremony.
11:32Before you call one of the spirits, you trace a sign.
11:35Like, when you cut this, are you going to lose this beautiful...
11:38You are.
11:39But then you lose the symbolism.
11:41I don't really want the symbolism so much to be so clear and understatement.
11:46Mm-hmm.
11:47And under, I'm doing a metallic goldish mesh turtleneck with this.
11:50Oh, that's inside the cape?
11:52Yes.
11:53Oh, she's a lot of luck.
11:55This is your chance.
11:56You've got to, like, get on the top again.
11:59From season 19, I redrew my entire savings to build my brand.
12:05I don't think it's a decision any parent have to make where you have to decide, do you pay that money to a lawyer for immigration to bring your child here?
12:14Or do you spend that money in your business and create something for this child so when you do bring her here, you have something?
12:21Good luck.
12:22Thank y'all.
12:23Rami.
12:24Hi.
12:25Look at this.
12:26Wow.
12:27Do you do men's pair?
12:28Generally, no, but I've done a few custom pieces.
12:29A few, a few.
12:30Okay.
12:31You know, but this type of tailoring, it's new for me.
12:33Men don't typically show skin, so I thought of, like, a sexy element.
12:36Mm-hmm.
12:37So I decided to do an off-shoulder kind of jacket for a man.
12:40What goes underneath?
12:41Basically pants, but then having sort of, like, almost looks like a skirt, basically.
12:44Like, looks like a skirt.
12:45I like it a lot.
12:46Part of my design intention is to include elements of bridal into this unexpected menswear peacocking look.
12:53This has to be sewn.
12:54Perfect.
12:55Gorgeous.
12:56Yes.
12:57No, it has to.
12:58Okay.
12:59For sure.
13:00Don't let me down.
13:01I won't.
13:02Vishmi, how's it going?
13:03It's going good.
13:04How you feeling?
13:05Yeah?
13:06Doing good.
13:07You know.
13:08I'm sorry.
13:09I'm sorry.
13:10You know.
13:11You gotta meet it right there.
13:12There we go.
13:13All right.
13:15What's the vibe?
13:16I like the idea of this and this.
13:19So, like, a monochromatic look.
13:21Yeah.
13:22And I was giving him, like, a Western vibe.
13:24In my mind, a Western movie is always, like, our best revenge movies.
13:28Mm.
13:29That's interesting.
13:30I wanted to do, like, a dressed-up version of a cargo.
13:33Then I'm gonna do a vest.
13:35Cool.
13:36And kind of have this hat that's, like, a scarf type of thing.
13:39I'm excited.
13:40I think this looks really cool.
13:41Later.
13:42I did it.
13:43Oh, you did it right.
13:44Look at you.
13:45All right, designers.
13:46You have two hours left to work tonight.
13:49Your models will be here tomorrow morning.
13:51Yes.
13:52Work.
13:53I'll see you guys in the morning.
13:54Good luck.
13:55Bye.
13:56Bye.
13:57Smell you later.
13:58It's all good.
13:59All right.
14:00Last week, I was in a bottom again.
14:05So I need to figure out how to turn this suit into a winning look.
14:09I can hear the judges, like, this is too much look or it looks like a costume.
14:14There have to be a balance.
14:15You have to give the clients what they want and your way.
14:19Guys.
14:20Yeah.
14:21We are done for today.
14:22Let's go home.
14:23That's it.
14:24All right.
14:25Come on.
14:26Let's get it.
14:27Let's get it.
14:28Don't leave me here.
14:29Yes.
14:30No.
14:39Hi, babe.
14:40Hi.
14:41Hi.
14:42Top five.
14:43That's my girl.
14:44So proud of you.
14:45I can't believe it.
14:46There's only one more challenge for the finale.
14:48We were all convinced this was going to be avant-garde.
14:51It's menswear.
14:52Shut the up.
14:55But it's a good one.
14:57The whole thing is like peacocking, you know?
14:59So it's like over the top, like Harry Styles and Timothee Chalamet.
15:02So I'm like popping the off on it.
15:03This is what you do every single day.
15:05Work under pressure.
15:06You do all the customs.
15:07Thank you so much.
15:08I love you, baby.
15:09All right.
15:10We'll talk soon, okay?
15:11All right.
15:12Bye.
15:13Bye.
15:14Hey, Bishmina.
15:15Hey there, Ramesha.
15:16What's up?
15:17What channel are you on today?
15:18I'm on channel 64.
15:19Really?
15:20Once the model's coming, I'm going to be on channel 69.
15:22Hey.
15:23Good.
15:24Hi.
15:25Let me fit you today.
15:26You are not available to me.
15:27No, if Anna was here.
15:29Anna's like, hi.
15:31Bad divorce for today's.
15:33I want to party with you more.
15:34Shall we?
15:35Yeah, we have to.
15:38You have so much fun today.
15:39Okay.
15:40We got a lot of to do, and let's go.
15:42Let's go do it.
15:43All right.
15:48Open the door for you ladies.
15:49Thank you so much.
15:50You enjoy yourselves.
15:51Thank you, Bishmina.
15:52Hi, guys.
15:53Hi, guys.
15:54Hi, guys.
15:55Hi.
15:56Hi.
15:57Pick up.
15:58Bring it out.
15:59Bring it out.
16:00Bring it out.
16:01Bring it out.
16:02Bring it out.
16:03Woo.
16:04How many pieces do you have?
16:05Three, but could be two.
16:07I'm drafting the pants so that I have the proportions right.
16:10Yeah.
16:11The pants process is a very tedious one.
16:13These are some of the most delicate fabrics, which typically are not used for pants.
16:18This is a big risk because if something goes wrong, the jig is up.
16:22It's a wrap.
16:23Hi, designers.
16:24Hey.
16:25Hey.
16:26It's a great day.
16:27Who wants a model?
16:28Me.
16:29I do.
16:30Ready?
16:31And remember, $5,000 is up for grabs.
16:32Can't forget.
16:33Bring in the men.
16:34Some of them already on the runway.
16:36Hi.
16:37How are you?
16:38You're so adorable.
16:39My name is Brittany.
16:51You're so adorable.
16:52My name is Brittany.
16:53I'm Bishop.
16:54How are you?
16:55Eric.
16:56Nice to meet you, man.
16:57Do you know what this is?
16:58A bulletproof vest.
16:59A bulletproof vest.
17:00Which is interesting.
17:02You could keep your pants on this video just to see where it lands.
17:05Well, how boring.
17:08This is it.
17:09This is it.
17:10No cape.
17:11Nothing.
17:12Can I have a minute with my motto?
17:13Yeah, sure.
17:15This dirty's on one more time.
17:17So that's going to be stitched down.
17:18I just haven't done any major stitching yet.
17:20Wow.
17:21Cool, right?
17:23I like it.
17:24You're wearing your wedding ring today?
17:26This reminded me to put it on.
17:28That's cute.
17:29Why are you making me blush?
17:31How long have you been married?
17:33I've been married for eight years.
17:34That's a long time.
17:35Yes, it is.
17:36I was a child bride.
17:41Ow.
17:42Pokes.
17:43Are you okay?
17:44Yeah, pokes.
17:45Are you serious?
17:46All right.
17:47Oh.
17:48Can you get a band-aid?
17:49I'm just praying that there's no blood on my pants.
17:54Where?
17:55Oh, this piece?
17:56Yeah.
17:57I mean, look.
17:58.
17:59Bloody hell.
18:00That's like a designer's nightmare.
18:03Because sometimes you can't get the blood out.
18:08It's the actual pant.
18:09Oh, this piece?
18:10Yeah.
18:11I mean, look.
18:12.
18:13I mean, honestly, you could literally, like, cut this out and then cut a new pocket.
18:17I don't think you should wash it.
18:19Yeah.
18:20You could just make a new little strip.
18:22That'll take you five minutes.
18:23I don't want to have blood on the look.
18:25No.
18:26Maybe it's a part of the look.
18:27What happened?
18:29The vest had pins in it.
18:30The chin just melted on it?
18:32No, that's blood.
18:34Oh, um, hydro-pricide.
18:37It will come off, girl.
18:39Okay, hold on.
18:40Let me see what it just looks like if it's not.
18:44Creamy whites.
18:45Creamy, flowy.
18:46Yeah, like creamy whites.
18:47Fluid whites.
18:48Project.
18:50It came out.
18:51You get a hug, too.
18:52Come here.
18:53You need the blouse.
18:55Yes, yes, yes, of course.
18:57Yeah.
18:58I mean, even though I love the idea of skin.
19:00No, I need that.
19:01But it's not red carpet enough, you know?
19:02Yeah, yeah, no, no.
19:03I wouldn't send you out like that.
19:04It's very cool, very sexy.
19:05I mean, it's very cute.
19:07I still have to whip up a shirt, which I'm going to do tomorrow, because I don't have all the answers for that one yet.
19:13I'm a magician.
19:14I'll do it.
19:15Hello.
19:16You don't have time to chat with cute boys.
19:17Let's wrap it up.
19:18Does it work?
19:19Yeah, it's great.
19:20Is it perfect?
19:21You don't want to try the bows, the drapes, the thingies?
19:23Are you adding the bands?
19:25Whoa, there's a lot of questions.
19:26Yes, they're all here.
19:28Can't you try what you're going to do with these things?
19:31Or you don't care?
19:32I do care.
19:33Don't make it out to be like, I don't care.
19:35I know.
19:36Jesus.
19:37I'm just kidding with you.
19:38Christian.
19:39I'm coming to you, honey.
19:41Your opinion?
19:43My opinion is I don't think the piece in the back should be pleated.
19:48So I think maybe it should be a simple panel.
19:50And the front of this crotch and the waist is good?
19:53Yes.
19:54Are you sure?
19:55Yes, because I'm not done, Christian.
19:57I just literally sewed this thing so you can slide it on.
20:00God, who sent you?
20:03You sent for me.
20:04I didn't send for you, girl.
20:05You called me like a little dog.
20:06When I sent for you, you'll know.
20:08All right, designers.
20:09That's it.
20:10That's time.
20:11Say goodbye to your models.
20:12Thank them.
20:14All right, designers.
20:15Tomorrow is show day.
20:16Good luck.
20:17And I'll see you tomorrow.
20:18Okay.
20:19Thanks, Christian.
20:20Bye.
20:21Can't wait.
20:27Brittany, what do you think of men's fashion today and like how it's evolved?
20:31In the past, you know, it's always been so boring.
20:33Uh-huh.
20:34But now it's like people are embracing just who they are, you know?
20:38Yeah.
20:39What I love most about fashion is that ideas and designs can actually make an impact.
20:47My mother passed away at the age of 38 from a blood clot in the brain.
20:52My grandmother wore black for probably 10 years.
20:55She told me that I used to hold her hand and take her to her closet at the age of seven years old
21:02and point to the colorful dresses and not the black to tell her like what to wear.
21:07The beauty of fashion is that there are no rules.
21:09It's an opportunity to be playful.
21:11And it's an opportunity to kind of like break some mold.
21:17All right, guys.
21:18That's time.
21:19We're heading to the lounge to get some drinks.
21:21Who's thirsty?
21:22I'm just caressing my man.
21:24Ooh.
21:25He's sexy.
21:26Mm-hmm.
21:29Shake that thing.
21:31Where are your things to open the day up?
21:36Oh, my goodness.
21:37Ooh.
21:38This is great.
21:40Coming up?
21:41To me, it's a confused businessman who moonlights at, like, an S&M bar.
21:48Once men swear, men swear.
21:53Here's your challenge.
21:54Workroom.
21:56Let's do it.
21:57Finish up.
21:58Everybody.
21:59Where we at?
22:00Where we at?
22:01What we doing?
22:02What we doing?
22:03Anybody have a needle?
22:05Somewhere here on this bag.
22:07Yep, yep, yep.
22:08Any time, any time.
22:09Ramish, a professional today.
22:11I know, right?
22:12He's been stuck there and .
22:13I got my work uniform on.
22:15I'm ready for the office today, honey.
22:18Let me tell you, cinched, tucked, and ready to go.
22:21Hi, everybody.
22:22Hey.
22:23Hi, Christian.
22:24Hi, Christian.
22:25How's it going?
22:26Great.
22:27It's going.
22:28Is it red carpet ready?
22:29Almost.
22:30Look at me.
22:31I'm peacocking.
22:32You are.
22:33I like that.
22:34I wanted to fit the challenge.
22:35Oh, you do.
22:36Let's get your models in here.
22:37We're ready.
22:42So I'd love to, like, slip on the pants.
22:44I want to try this on real quick on you.
22:46And then by the time you get back,
22:47I'll have a whole new shirt for you.
22:49All right.
22:50This is good.
22:51All right.
22:53How do they feel?
22:55Yeah?
22:56Good?
22:57OK, awesome.
22:58All right, designers.
22:59When you're ready, take your models to the makeup studio
23:01and the Tresme hair salon.
23:03OK, great.
23:04Hello.
23:05Hi.
23:06Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi.
23:07Smoked his eyes a little bit.
23:09I'd love, like, two braids.
23:11Ooh.
23:12Oh, .
23:17How you doing, Bishmina?
23:20My nerves are.
23:21What did you say?
23:22Your nerves are shot?
23:23Yeah.
23:24I think it's because it's just men stuff.
23:29You love it with this blouse?
23:31Maybe, maybe not.
23:32I don't know.
23:33As a designer, we always come to a crossroad
23:35where we have to make a decision.
23:37And then I realized that I don't like it either.
23:40At this point, I'd rather have three pieces that I love
23:44than add something else to it that's going to throw me off.
23:47So I know I'm taking a chance.
23:5030 minutes until the show, people.
23:54Very stressful.
23:55This is going to be a dope show, though.
23:57Well, all shows be dope, but...
23:59Hell, yo.
24:00Hell, yeah.
24:01This is it.
24:02Underneath.
24:05Rajay.
24:07Oh, God.
24:10That bronze mesh top.
24:12Yeah, that's how we discussed, right?
24:13Just so...
24:14Yeah, just a little simple turtleneck top.
24:16She's going to the red carpet.
24:17Like, he's dressed well-dressed put together.
24:20Okay.
24:21Mm-hmm.
24:22I think this challenge, there is a very fine line
24:26between what can turn into a costume.
24:29So I'm not trying to get kicked off the ship
24:32because I didn't edit.
24:34What's your vest look like?
24:36It's like a dope wraparound vest.
24:38Oh, this is the pieces that hang?
24:39Yeah.
24:40It look dope.
24:41You'll see it.
24:42It looks cool.
24:43I really, really like it.
24:44All right.
24:45I love it.
24:50Hmm.
24:51You like her?
24:52I just think it kind of finishes it.
24:54I mean, it's really easy just to tack on, so...
24:56You don't think?
24:57Yeah.
24:58Let me just see.
24:59I think it looks like nothing without it.
25:00Are you old, eh?
25:01It is aggressive, but it's like...
25:03In a good way, though?
25:04Isn't that the point?
25:05I'm gonna go ahead and add the bow
25:06and just embrace that it is extra and ridiculous,
25:11but it is part of the whole trend.
25:13And if they hate it, you can blame it on me.
25:15Christian said I should put this bow on it.
25:18Yeah.
25:20Britney's look is a Gucci look.
25:22Last week, Carter went home for shiny pants.
25:25I think where you lost me was with the oversized pant.
25:29So, bad move on Britney's part.
25:32See you next time.
25:33All right.
25:34One minute, designers, and we're leaving this room.
25:36One minute.
25:37Oh, I'm so excited.
25:39All right, designers, that's it.
25:44That's time.
25:45Time for the show.
25:46Great.
25:48Uh-huh.
25:49I got your shoes.
25:50All right, let's go.
25:54All right, designers, five minutes, last looks,
25:57five minutes, and Lord, you need it.
26:00So, with the train, before you go out every time,
26:03just make sure that it's flat behind you.
26:05One minute, designers, one minute.
26:07I was looking around, and I was thinking,
26:09oh, look, it's really working for me right now.
26:12None of them.
26:13Designers, that's it.
26:14That's time.
26:15Five thousand dollars on the line.
26:16Get to the runway.
26:17Woo!
26:20So amazing.
26:21Hi, designers.
26:23Hi.
26:24There's just five of you.
26:27Tonight, four of you will move one step closer
26:32towards the finale and taking home the grand prize.
26:36Yes.
26:37It's getting really hard for you and for us.
26:40All right, guys, I could not be more excited
26:43to introduce you to tonight's guest judge,
26:46although he needs no introduction.
26:48No.
26:49Let's be honest.
26:50No, he don't.
26:51He's one of the stars of Euphoria,
26:53Emmy-winning and Tony-nominated actor,
26:56writer, director, nobody peacocks better than this man.
27:00It works.
27:01It works.
27:02Coleman Dominguez!
27:03Hello, designers.
27:04Hello.
27:05I'm so excited to be here.
27:06Truly.
27:10He is the epitome of peacocking.
27:12He keeps it so out of this box,
27:14and he's not afraid to wear prints, colors,
27:17and every time you see him on the red carpet,
27:20he looks amazing.
27:22We've actually never done a red carpet menswear challenge
27:25on Project Runway,
27:27so we can't wait to see what you guys all deliver.
27:30Let's start the show.
27:32I'm so excited.
27:33Oh, that's hot.
27:34Pretty proud of this look.
27:37The top is so adorable.
27:38It's, like, a little sexy,
27:39because it's got the see-through organza.
27:41Men's wear was the thing.
27:42I'm so excited.
27:43I'm so excited.
27:44So we can't wait to see what you guys all deliver.
27:46Let's start the show.
27:47I'm so excited.
27:49Oh, that's hot.
27:50Pretty proud of this look.
27:52The top is so adorable.
27:54It's, like, a little sexy,
27:55because it's got the see-through organza.
27:57Men's wear was the thing that just sent me
28:02into a complete spiral my original season.
28:06I love how it's, like, playing with history in many ways.
28:08You get 70s, you get Victorian, you get Edwardian,
28:11all in one look.
28:12I love it.
28:13Totally.
28:14Yeah.
28:15It's validating that I've worked really hard
28:17to come back from the things that kind of set me back.
28:27I'm just feeling chills at the butterflies,
28:33because the silk is just floating.
28:36The train is moving around.
28:38The pants are light as a feather.
28:40The jacket looks really cool.
28:42Can you see someone actually wearing that,
28:43like, on the red carpet?
28:44I could.
28:46This look embodies both masculine and the feminine,
28:50two energies that I think are present in most people.
28:57I think that this is a great way to see it come to life
29:00in the form of a designing moment.
29:10I'm taking it in.
29:11It is made for me.
29:12Definitely something that I would wear.
29:14But the overall look is almost kind of falling flat
29:17a little bit.
29:22I love high-waisted pants.
29:24I love the pleats.
29:25This is my kind of nod to retro.
29:28But the color is very burgundy right now on the runway.
29:36I can already feel that it's going to be a problem.
29:38But I think this is enough to stay in this competition.
29:42Hmm.
29:43I feel 75% okay.
29:45I love the pants.
29:46I love the kilt.
29:47I'm in love with the gilet par balle, the vest.
29:48It's just, I did not picture it like that.
29:49You know, when I have a specific vision and pieces missing,
29:51then you can't see the whole thing.
29:52Did you say that's a kilt?
29:53Yes?
29:54Okay.
29:55Yes?
29:56Okay.
29:57Oh, okay.
30:28I'm feeling excited as I see Eric walk down the runway.
30:33The fedora shawl is dragging exactly how it needed to go.
30:37The color looks amazing on him, and he is looking so good,
30:41and this is making me happy.
30:44I'm always pushing myself to create new things.
30:49I feel like you can work a couple looks with it,
30:51you know what I mean?
30:52The color is everything.
30:54The hat I struggled with.
30:55Mm, same.
30:58It's so hard.
31:04You know, it's like we're getting to that point.
31:07It's really so hard.
31:10Yes, sir.
31:12I'm stressed.
31:22Designers, thank you for bringing the red carpet menswear
31:25to the runway tonight.
31:27Whoo!
31:28We've scored your designs.
31:30One of you will be the winner and take home $5,000,
31:35and one of you will be out.
31:39We'd like to talk to everyone tonight.
31:41Only five of you left.
31:43Let's bring out one of our favorite looks of the night.
31:53I feel short.
31:54I know.
31:55Rami, you're in the top.
31:57Grateful for it.
31:58Grateful for it.
31:59And I can't help but reflect on the fact that at one point during this competition you went home.
32:04Yeah.
32:05So it's great to see you on the top.
32:06It's great to be.
32:07Tell us everything about your look, about peacocking.
32:10I want to kind of somehow merge the romance of womenswear with the structure of menswear.
32:16I just wanted something that could be suitable for tying the knot ceremony or a red carpet or something in that sense.
32:24I loved this.
32:26This felt original.
32:27I think you did a great job.
32:29I'm going to throw it to Coleman.
32:32Would you wear this?
32:33You know what?
32:34I would wear it.
32:35The stylist that I worked with asked me when I was going to my first Emmys, what did I want to wear and what I want to feel like.
32:42I said something elegant in my best self.
32:44And I said, what about the color cream?
32:46So when this came out, it reminded me of all those feelings.
32:49Thank you so much.
32:50I appreciate that.
32:51There's some fit issues.
32:53I think there's something about the fabric that looks a little bit inexpensive.
32:57But ultimately, the idea spoke to me so much that I was willing to overlook some of that.
33:04This is a draping delight.
33:06So this tunic is two pieces, right?
33:09Yes.
33:10This is my finale look.
33:11I think I could wear this.
33:12I feel like my left arm and armpit is one of my better features.
33:17Thank you so much, Rami.
33:18Thank you so much.
33:19We're happy to see you in the top.
33:20Pleasure.
33:22Tice, you may leave the runway.
33:23Go ahead.
33:24Let's bring out one of our highest scores of the night.
33:27Let's get the model out here.
33:31Come on, dance move.
33:33Thank you, bro.
33:34Bishmi, how are you?
33:36I'm happy as hell, Brandon.
33:37How are you?
33:38Good.
33:39My look, I had an idea of my actor premiering like a Wild Wild West movie premiere.
33:46Like he was the star of it.
33:48I love color.
33:49So I wanted to try something I feel that would complement his skin tone.
33:53I thought it was so cool.
33:55It's so playful.
33:56And I love how it's a little play on some street wear as well.
33:59The cargo element to it.
34:00Oh, thank you.
34:01I could see many brothers wearing this and rocking and feeling confident and feeling like you're
34:05going to stand out and make a statement.
34:08You took the opportunity to peacock and you put a capital P on it, okay?
34:13I thought that the cut and fit of this look really celebrated the best of your model.
34:19I mean, look at those pecs, look at those arms.
34:22I know.
34:23He looks sexy.
34:24We never say that to the women and then the men come on, you guys are like, love the pecs.
34:28Every show.
34:29We talk about their figures.
34:30I love that Bishmi always thinks about the body.
34:34I'd love to see it without the hat.
34:36Without the hat.
34:37For one minute.
34:38One more second.
34:39Me too.
34:40I think that the fact that you made the hat and the shawl in the same color, that's where
34:45it turns the corner into costume, but it made us look.
34:50That's for sure.
34:51I think it's a great, great suit.
34:53And I think it was less the hat so much it was the fabric of the hat.
34:58Gotcha.
34:59And I don't know that it did the most service to the clothes themselves.
35:03I just wanted to add just a touch of something that's like dramatic.
35:07I think it's like A for effort with the ideas.
35:09Gotcha.
35:10Thank you, Brandon.
35:11Thank you, Bishmi.
35:12Eric, you can leave the runway.
35:14All right.
35:15Unfortunately, the next look was one of our least favorites.
35:18Here comes the model.
35:20What's it going to be?
35:23All right, Praje, tell us about your look.
35:26Well, I wanted to take a little take onto the butler's jacket by recreating my own fabric.
35:32So I actually painted over this.
35:34It's not my favorite.
35:36And I hate the copper mesh turtleneck.
35:40That's what really disturbed me.
35:43It just felt like there were a lot of ideas all in the same direction.
35:47Talk to me about the color story.
35:49I thought this color being pink was so bold that it would have translated better.
35:54I think it's very important for men who are walking red carpets to know what story they're telling.
36:00And I think I lean on a designer to also help me tell that story.
36:05And so if the story's unclear, it doesn't resonate.
36:09It felt like a nutcracker just waiting to go to the gay club.
36:14Like, I don't know.
36:15That's what it felt to me.
36:17Okay.
36:18Praje, thank you.
36:19Damani, you can leave the runway.
36:22Our next look of the night was one of our favorites.
36:24Let's bring out the model.
36:26Okay, how's it going?
36:30All right, Brittany, tell us about your peacocked look.
36:34So my thought was Harry or like Timothee Chalamet.
36:37And I wanted you to look at the whole look itself and be confused as to if the pieces were pulled from a menswear collection or a womenswear collection.
36:45If this hit a wonderful store, there will be a run.
36:48There will be a fight between me, Jeremy Pope, Harry Styles, and Timothee Chalamet for this look.
36:54That is hot.
36:56I wouldn't win.
36:57Timothy who? Harry what?
36:58It became about you.
37:00It's such a fun look.
37:02I love the oversized bow, that blouse.
37:05And there's something about the fabric of the pant I have to say.
37:08Have I seen it before?
37:10Yes.
37:11It does look a little bit Gucci.
37:13I'm not saying that as a good or a bad thing.
37:15It just needs to be said.
37:16On Timothee and Harry.
37:19Yeah, but I'm not mad at you.
37:22Because whatever got you to this place is great.
37:26It is referential.
37:28But here is what I think is very unique.
37:31I recognize those pants.
37:33I recognize those closures.
37:35I know that is Brittany.
37:38Is he going to be a showstopper on the red carpet?
37:41Yes, he will.
37:42Thank you, Nina.
37:43We have talked throughout this competition about things we have seen before on other looks from you.
37:48So while I wildly love this and everybody else loves this, next challenge, let's also think about originality.
37:54Right?
37:55Thanks.
37:56All right.
37:57Thank you so much, Brittany.
37:59Keenan, you can dance off the runway.
38:01All right, the next look of the night had one of our lowest scores.
38:06Let's get the model out here.
38:11Laurence, tell us about your look.
38:14My client in my head was Lenny Kravitz going to a musical event for a red carpet.
38:21So I wanted to play with the kilt type of vibe with a suit pants and a bulletproof vest.
38:26I must say that this wasn't the most inspired red carpet look for me.
38:31Mm-hmm.
38:32It didn't peacock enough.
38:33Yeah.
38:34Okay.
38:35I picked another fabric to do like a cool like metallic shirt, but I wasn't sure about it, so I just decided not to go with it.
38:41Okay.
38:42Yeah.
38:43Laurence.
38:44Yes.
38:45The girl who's on fire.
38:47Mm-hmm.
38:49I am confused about the vision, kind of two different vibes that are put together in a way that's confusing, especially with the shoe.
38:58For me, this was a miss.
38:59All right.
39:01It's just two different things in one.
39:04To me, it's a confused businessman who moonlights at like an S&M bar.
39:11Laurence.
39:12Yes.
39:13I'm going to ask you something that Coleman pointed out.
39:22What is the story with this look?
39:25So first, I was thinking about a version of me, but as a male.
39:31So a very masculine man with a feminine, a little feminine side.
39:35I mean, is it just opposites working?
39:37That's what I do a lot with my own style.
39:39So for me, it doesn't shock me, but like I said, I understand if it's a no-go for a lot of people.
39:45I mean, you could wear this if you were Lenny Kravitz.
39:47I do think Lenny Kravitz could probably pull off everything, this included.
39:52The pieces by themselves are okay, but I feel like I'm missing the story.
39:58Yeah.
39:59It just doesn't work together.
40:02Thank you so much.
40:03Michael, you can leave the runway.
40:05Designers, thank you so much for this very fun peacocking challenge.
40:11We're going to ask you to leave the runway, and we will call you back when we're ready.
40:16You okay?
40:18I'm good.
40:19Okay.
40:20This challenge was all about standing out on the red carpet, and three designers did that really, really well.
40:25Brittany, Rami, and Bishmi.
40:27All right, let's talk about Rami for a minute.
40:29I love that he's going for that mix between masculine and feminine.
40:32I thought it was beautiful.
40:33Rami's look felt really inspired and very original, and ultimately, it was peacocking in sort of this, like, quiet, elegant way.
40:42Yeah.
40:43I'm kind of obsessed with a tuxedo for men or for women.
40:47The one sleeve, the draping, the pants, the tunic over the pants.
40:52It was fantastic.
40:54Should we talk about Bishmi?
40:55Bishmi gave us a moment.
40:57Like, we're asking them to give us peacocking menswear.
41:01He did that with a capital P.
41:03I love the color.
41:04Yeah.
41:05I still wanted one element to go away.
41:09That hat.
41:10For the runway, you need to get the attention of the audience.
41:15Mm-hmm.
41:16And this hat is an accessory just to do that.
41:19Yes.
41:20Right?
41:21I could see Bishmi putting on a runway show.
41:24Agree.
41:25I still did not like the hat.
41:26Should we talk about Brittany?
41:27You guys, I think Brittany's hitting her stride.
41:30It feels so good to watch a designer come on this show and just listen to the feedback and just get better and better and better.
41:38And that's what we're seeing from Brittany.
41:39It's folded in together to tell a cohesive story.
41:42And I agree with what you said, Elaine.
41:44To see her pushing herself and coming out with something great is exciting.
41:47But it is a bit referential.
41:50We've seen that pant in another fabric.
41:53Really?
41:54The look has been done.
41:55So do we all know who our winner is?
41:57We all agree?
41:58Mm-hmm.
41:59All right.
42:00There's two designers that are in the bottom, Praje and Laurence.
42:04Praje's look, the story was really confusing to me.
42:08It wasn't my favorite look.
42:09I wouldn't know what I was trying to do on this carpet.
42:12I absolutely agree.
42:14And nothing in the year of 2023 has offended Nina Garcia more than this gold mesh turtleneck.
42:22Copper.
42:23It was so weird.
42:24But it wasn't even pink.
42:25Praje's combination of colors here was so odd.
42:29Which is so strange because he's a painter.
42:31Yes.
42:32It was just a case of everything gone wrong.
42:35I'm not sure what happened to the Praje who was such a confident artist and designer who gave us complete looks.
42:44I think he's so in his head about the feedback that he's gotten that he's lost.
42:48Yeah.
42:49He has done some incredibly dramatic looks.
42:53But can we talk about Laurence?
42:55No drama at all.
42:56What happened?
42:57The proportion of the vest that looked like a midriff and the low cut skirt.
43:04There's no pop to it, right?
43:06Yeah, you're right.
43:07There is no peacocking here.
43:08There's no peacocking here.
43:09Thank you for focusing us.
43:10It's like, please don't look at me, although I might be going to the leather bar after with this.
43:15But I want to add one thing about Laurence and Praje.
43:18They both actually said the same thing.
43:20They would say, well, I like it.
43:21I like the look.
43:22It shouldn't just necessarily be about what you like.
43:25It's about the task at hand.
43:27All right.
43:28So do we all know who's going home?
43:29Unfortunately, yeah.
43:30We have our final four.
43:32Let's get them back out here.
43:35Designers, tonight we decide the final four.
43:40But only one of you can be the winner and take home $5,000 tonight.
43:46Whoo!
43:48Bishmi, Rami, Brittany.
43:52One of you will be the winner of this challenge.
43:55The winning look was completely original and elevated male peacocking to a whole new level.
44:05The winner is...
44:10Rami.
44:11Congratulations.
44:12Thank you so much.
44:15Finally.
44:16Have you not won a challenge?
44:17Nothing.
44:18Well, tonight's the night.
44:20Rami, how does it feel?
44:22It feels amazing, especially doing something that's outside of my comfort zone.
44:26And this amazing man with us, I'm honored.
44:29Well, congratulations, Rami.
44:31It's very exciting when Nina Garcia, who has seen everything, has not seen a look before.
44:42Bishmi and Brittany, you are also in.
44:46All three of you can leave the runway.
44:48Thank you so much.
44:51Nice meeting you.
44:52Nice to meet you too, friend.
44:54I know.
44:58Proje and Laurence, one of you will be in and one of you will be out.
45:03Your design was too reserved and we felt like it was two looks that did not come together.
45:14Proje, your color story and fabric choice were confusing and there were too many ideas that did not go your way.
45:24I'm very sorry to say this, but Proje, you are out.
45:37Laurence, that means you are in.
45:38Okay.
45:40I'm so fine, baby.
45:41I'm so fine.
45:42I had an incredible time here.
45:44I have found myself and I love him.
45:45I love the look.
45:46I understand where it went wrong.
45:47And you'll see it again.
45:48I probably will be wearing it.
45:49What I've always loved about you is your very joyful disposition.
45:52It's really great to watch you take feedback in stride.
45:55And that is what is going to continue to make you successful.
45:56We saw incredible work from you and you are truly an all-star.
45:59Thank you, Proje.
46:00Thank you, Proje.
46:01Thank you, Proje.
46:02Thank you, Proje.
46:03You all can leave the runway.
46:07I am extremely grateful to be in the top five.
46:09I know I wanted to show a collection.
46:10I know I wanted to go for the grand prize money.
46:12And I went there before my collection, but I was so proud to be a book.
46:15And I went to the book on a book on a book on a book.
46:18All made my books on the book.
46:20And I was so glad that I got the book on a book.
