00:00This is Project Runway.
00:10Wow, wow, wow.
00:12OK, guys, let's vote.
00:14I feel bad for them.
00:16I'd rather be here than making that decision.
00:18I'm so shocked that we need to vote out the designer for this challenge.
00:24This is the Project Runway first.
00:26It's really hard because it feels like you're crushing someone's dreams
00:31and there's blood in your hands.
00:34But it's Project Runway.
00:36One day you're in and the next day you're out.
00:38All right, designers.
00:40Can you guys gather in your votes and bring them over to me?
00:47I'm missing.
00:48Oh, man.
00:51This is everybody.
00:52I'm a little nervous that these designers
00:55are going to vote me off just to separate my brother and I.
00:58We're powerful together.
00:59And they will send their biggest threat home.
01:01Joseph, Joan, Antonio.
01:04Two of you will be in.
01:06And one of you will be out.
01:08The first vote is for Joseph McCray.
01:13Joseph McCray.
01:16The second vote is for Miss Jo.
01:21I don't want to go home on a design that didn't speak to who I was as a designer.
01:27I hope the other designers keep me in the competition.
01:31The third vote is for Joseph McCray.
01:35Child, do not play.
01:38So that's two votes for Joseph.
01:41Another one and you'll be out, okay?
01:43Oh, my God.
01:44I guess this is when the true competition shows.
01:46Because do they feel like my look is the worst?
01:50Or is it because I could be the most threat in this competition?
01:56The fourth vote is for Antonio.
02:00My brother might be going home right now and I'm freaking out.
02:05The next vote is for...
02:10Joseph McCray.
02:13Got it.
02:14Oh, he's going home.
02:16No.
02:20I'm so sorry, Joseph.
02:21So that means you're out.
02:23I don't know if the vote was strategic,
02:25but if it was a game that they wanted to play,
02:28I guess the game has been played, so...
02:32It was such a pleasure working with you.
02:33I think you're incredibly talented.
02:36I know who you are.
02:37Yeah.
02:38I can't wait to see more of your clothes.
02:39You will.
02:40I know.
02:41I'm really sad to have my best friend in the competition leave,
02:44and I wish that I had stood up a little bit more for Joseph.
02:48I don't know that I could have swayed four people.
02:51Bye, everyone.
02:53No problem.
02:55I love you, too.
02:57As much as I didn't want to go home,
02:59listen, don't worry about me,
03:00because, baby,
03:01I'm about to be famous.
03:05Still iconic, bitch.
03:06Don't forget.
03:07And that's a wrap.
03:08Later, loves.
03:10Bye.
03:12Bye.
03:13Say goodbye to love.
03:14Bye, love.
03:16Thank you, guys.
03:17Thanks for saving me.
03:18How are you guys feeling?
03:19That was definitely a curveball,
03:21and I think we're just, like, all full of emotions.
03:25Malin, you're very shaken up.
03:27I'm angry.
03:30Why?
03:31You have to make tough decisions in this business.
03:33No, I know.
03:34Not like that, though.
03:35No?
03:36I don't think it has to be that personal.
03:37Hmm.
03:38It's hard.
03:39Trust me.
03:40I've been there.
03:41I get it.
03:42But it's a competition, and only one of you wins.
03:43Yeah.
03:44Like, everyone's going home at some point.
03:47It's designed to survive.
03:50And we're gonna go into your next challenge now.
03:56This competition is challenge, runway,
04:00one-day challenge, sewing, runway, club, challenge,
04:05no time, no sleep.
04:09Gaga would not be proud.
04:11Fashion takes inspiration from all kinds of things,
04:14art, music, even the unconventional.
04:18So for your next challenge,
04:21you'll be creating a runway-worthy version
04:24of your unconventional materials look,
04:28completely made out of fabric.
04:30Runway version.
04:32I know not to use denim.
04:34Wow.
04:36If I had the energy to scream,
04:38I'd probably be screaming quite a bit.
04:42I didn't love the look that I made.
04:44And it can't just be a story.
04:46Visual, meaningful, they have to connect.
04:49Because both looks are gonna walk down the runway together.
04:53Wow.
04:54Cheers.
04:55Oh, my God.
04:56Damn.
04:57Wow.
04:58Head home tonight to do some sketching,
05:00get some rest,
05:01and then I will meet you at Mood in the morning.
05:03Thank you, Chris.
05:04Good night.
05:05Thank you so much.
05:06Bye.
05:08Bye.
05:09For the next challenge,
05:10I'm really gonna step my up
05:11because I want to prove to the judges
05:13that I am an amazing designer and stylist.
05:16I think the only complaint in my life is a roach.
05:19So we gotta fix that.
05:28Friction pens are amazing.
05:30Who would have thought that you can erase a pen?
05:32Aw.
05:33Guys, that was rough.
05:35Miss Joan, how do you feel?
05:37You're back for another week.
05:38Yeah.
05:39Just need to process everything.
05:40Yeah.
05:41Okay.
05:42Yeah.
05:43I'm gonna put Joan on the runway.
05:44Oh, my God.
05:45This is a great opportunity to show your other side.
05:47As a tailor.
05:48I've been tailoring for over 20 years.
05:51This is what I do.
05:52I can tailor a suit.
05:53So this is my opportunity to bring it.
05:56Look.
05:57That's sick.
05:58I don't even sketch.
05:59Jesus, usually I would tell him what to sketch for me.
06:02I'm jealous of you guys for having brothers
06:04because if I have my brother here...
06:06I think it's an advantage.
06:07No, it's a huge advantage.
06:08It's a huge advantage.
06:09Because they're going to, no matter what,
06:11help one another.
06:12The last challenge was the first individual challenge,
06:15but the twins are still working together.
06:18If that is what it takes to win for y'all, awesome.
06:22But I'm able to beat it up without having family in the room.
06:26Although I have a question.
06:27Do you think both of you can do one challenge
06:30where you're completely separate?
06:33Because you're used to be, like, working each other.
06:35Yeah.
06:36So maybe for this challenge,
06:37like, just challenge yourself.
06:39Let's not help each other
06:40and let's see what's gonna happen.
06:42I think that BJ's smart.
06:43He knows how to play the game.
06:45What's gonna be the outcome?
06:48Are you up for the challenge?
06:50As an individual designer,
06:52I know I can do it.
06:53I know I'm talented.
06:54I know I'm good.
06:55Let's shut this bitch up.
06:57Let's prove to them this challenge.
06:59Yeah.
07:00I'm excited if they can actually do it.
07:02We will see.
07:03Done.
07:04So that's completely solo challenge.
07:07BJ, over my dead body
07:10that you think you're gonna separate Antonio and I.
07:13So now it's on.
07:24All right.
07:25Remember this challenge.
07:26Runway-worthy version
07:28to kind of complement your unconventional look.
07:3130 minutes.
07:32$350.
07:33Okay, go.
07:34Right now.
07:35Ah!
07:36Just take a half yard off and then I can get that.
07:43Keep looking.
07:44You just started.
07:45Put that backpack down and dig through these rolls.
07:47All right.
07:48Oh, we need pins, bitch.
07:49Get two boxes.
07:50Of course.
07:51The twins are shopping together.
07:54I am so shocked.
07:57The happy twins.
07:58Going gray again.
07:59Mm-hmm.
08:00Boring.
08:01I'm capable of a lot more than when I put down the runway in the last challenge.
08:06However, to turn something that I hated into something that I like is going to take some real work.
08:14You don't want anything iridescent-y?
08:16I think that that's pretty iridescent and I'm gonna do stuff to it.
08:19My confidant, my best friend here, Joseph McRae, has left.
08:23So I'm definitely feeling that loss.
08:25And I need a solid amount of time to sit with what happened, but I don't have time to do that.
08:32Designer. Designer.
08:37Child, it smells like rotten in here.
08:39Oh, it's Miss Jones' dress.
08:41I don't wanna see that.
08:43Last challenge, I was so far in the bottom that they had to dig me out the dirt.
08:48It looks like dead vegetation.
08:51Just throw her in a compost.
08:53I have to take inspiration from it.
08:56I'm gonna try and redeem myself.
08:58So I'm gonna have to show Laura who I am as a designer.
09:02Leave it all on the runway.
09:04I really don't wanna look at this all day.
09:06I jumped a bit in the corner.
09:09No one puts baby in a corner.
09:11However, I need her gone.
09:14One, two, three, four.
09:16Hello.
09:17Oh, is that the crotch?
09:23It's a banana hammock.
09:25Oh.
09:26Wow.
09:27I wanna create a cocoon outer shell gown that reveals into like a J-Lo butterfly sexy moment.
09:36Oh my god, but you have so much to make.
09:38Just two pieces.
09:39Okay.
09:40You can't have her whole butt out though like that.
09:42I want about this much crap.
09:44I can do it all for you.
09:46How are they gonna connect visually in some way?
09:49I think because these are triangular.
09:51They're gonna be covering the whole thing so I'm like a wig.
09:55Am I hurting your ears?
09:56Yes.
09:57All right, I'll stop.
09:58You can wait.
09:59I didn't love the look that I made last week.
10:01That's not me.
10:02So I'm making these hard kind of sharp edges into something more soft.
10:08She's going to be feathery.
10:09She's going to be bird-like.
10:10She's going to be awesome.
10:12Happening over here.
10:13I wanna keep the same silhouette where it's see-through and sexy.
10:16Mm-hmm.
10:17So I wanna do a secret pant with a corset.
10:20Your corset top needs to be incredible.
10:22It's gonna fit well.
10:23Make sure.
10:24I'm trying it right now.
10:25I'm pretty fast.
10:26Okay.
10:27Last challenge, I almost got voted off, but I'm here for another week and I'm gonna set myself apart from the other designers and my brother.
10:33I wanna stand out.
10:34I already do because I'm gorgeous.
10:37Perfection.
10:38Okay, I can figure this out.
10:41The look was very raw and cool, but you're doing like an evening gown.
10:46So it's like, how do you make that feel like edgy?
10:48I wanted to utilize the red instead of doing a front lapel to incorporate a back lapel.
10:54I mean, you have to have the red.
10:55Yeah, of course.
10:56In some way to visually connect.
10:57Of course.
10:58So it's a gown, right?
10:59Yes.
11:00This is very street wear, very I'm going to a bashment party.
11:03Uh-huh.
11:04You know?
11:05And this is very I'm stepping on the runway.
11:07I've never made a dress specifically like this before, but...
11:10I want to showcase my skills as far as gown making goes for a curvier woman.
11:17It's a flag dress.
11:18When I think of soccer, I think of World Cup.
11:21All these countries, it's exciting.
11:23My idea is to make this black and white soccer ball bomber jacket with this big flag dress that celebrate the energy of a soccer stadium.
11:32Edit the colors like you edited those colors.
11:35Yeah.
11:36Remember, visually connected.
11:37Yeah.
11:38Wow.
11:39That's pretty.
11:40For this one, I want the boning to be outside.
11:43Yeah.
11:44I really want to make another structure using the boning.
11:48It's a very meticulous process because boning is something that you need to hand sew, but I haven't worn yet and I want the judges to see my impeccable craftsmanship in all the things that I do.
12:01This is my power.
12:02My hands.
12:03Wow.
12:04This is a beautifully cut suit.
12:05Yeah.
12:06Clearly, you can make clothes.
12:08So, I get that you want to do this beautiful, amazing suit, but I think the connection will still be important, you know?
12:13And that's why I'm trying to still keep the connectivity with the corset tree.
12:18With the corset tree.
12:19Who's even thinking of taking the popsicle sticks?
12:22If you do that, I quit.
12:23Right now.
12:26Child.
12:29I just want them to see something here that they didn't see there.
12:32You know, Law really didn't like this dress.
12:34You gotta prove him wrong.
12:36Okay.
12:37Law have mercy.
12:38Everyone is a little worried about me, you know, but I got this.
12:42I'm a fighter.
12:43I've been through the hardest fight of my life.
12:48Back in 2020, I made it onto the cast of Project Runway for the first time, but I also found out that I had breast cancer.
12:58And I needed to start treatment immediately.
13:02My biggest fear during that time is, am I going to be strong enough to fight and beat this thing?
13:09But let me tell you, I rang that bell and Mama Joan is four years cancer free.
13:17This is more than just a competition for me.
13:20This is a full circle moment.
13:23To win Project Runway would be such a validation.
13:28I want to show that I can be an inspiration to so many women out there that there is life after, you know, being diagnosed.
13:37Oh.
13:38I'm like a walking zombie right now.
13:50I think the one day challenges are definitely starting to take a toll because, like, there is no time to rest.
14:05Like, I'm not even, like, to be honest, like, inspired to do this.
14:18Seeing my brother going through all the emotions, that's not usually his persona.
14:22He's usually stronger than I am.
14:26I'm really concerned because I want him to still be in the competition.
14:33No.
14:34No, no, no.
14:35I don't even want to do it, to be honest.
14:38It's a lot.
14:40Should we go home?
14:41No.
14:42Come on.
14:43I'm really sorry that Jesus is struggling, but so am I.
14:47Like, I wish I have my best friend here so that I have someone that I can lean on to.
14:52But, you know, I have to do it on my own.
14:54Someone needs to take that sense of comfort from them so that they can realize that this is a competition.
15:01I see everybody keeping an eye on us.
15:03All them bitches want to separate us.
15:05He's my twin brother, so if you with my brother, then you're going to have two enemies.
15:09You get a model, you get a model.
15:15Baby, let's do it.
15:18I made it a little bit big.
15:20Is it asymmetrical this top?
15:22Yeah.
15:23Well, it looks kind of like a little bit like a mistake, because it's like not enough.
15:26I think you still have to figure out this understructure.
15:28Yeah.
15:29For me, I don't, I just don't look like anything.
15:33You all right?
15:34I'm just...
15:35You're just so tired.
15:36You're beat down.
15:37You're done.
15:38It's a lot.
15:39It's a lot.
15:40Suck it up.
15:41You've already been here before.
15:42Don't worry.
15:43You're fine.
15:44It looks fabulous.
15:45Get it together.
15:46Yeah.
15:47It's going to be cool.
15:48I like it with just one side.
15:49You do too.
15:50It's kind of fab.
15:51I'm really grateful to have Christian.
15:53I think he sees a vision.
15:54I think he likes my work.
15:56And that just really truly gives me strength.
15:59I'm ready to show the judges exactly what I am made of.
16:04That red stripe on Jesus' gown is looking pretty familiar.
16:11What the ?
16:12Here we go.
16:13I've been working primarily on the outer part, so I have a lot of finessing to do.
16:18Are you realizing that this doesn't work?
16:20It needs a lot of shashank.
16:21So what are you going to do?
16:23Okay.
16:24Let's try on the other dress.
16:25The dress underneath is not good.
16:27Do you think I should scrap the whole reveal?
16:30I think you have to scrap one of them.
16:31Yes.
16:32That's what I'm saying.
16:33Then you still have one look.
16:35You've got to try something.
16:37I think the shoulders could still be more.
16:38Yeah.
16:39This is the only one that I love, but I think I can elaborate it more.
16:43Hand sewing is a major component to execute that design.
16:47And I don't have a lot of time left, but I've applied to be in the show since 2012.
16:54I've waited for 13 years.
16:55And now that I'm here, I'm not going to waste any opportunity to show the judges what I can do.
17:03You just dislike it.
17:04This looks really messy.
17:06The frayed edges on this looks very amateur.
17:10Okay.
17:11I really don't want this amateur tag to be put on me.
17:15That's a fear of mine because I taught myself for the most part.
17:20So my construction skills are sometimes behind other people.
17:24I've got to figure it out.
17:26Maybe the organza looks a little more refined and beautiful and soft.
17:31And maybe it's that all over in diamond shape.
17:33Yeah, that's helpful.
17:34I'm going for soft, feathery, maybe like a snowy egret.
17:39But I'm seeing a dirty, dirty little pigeon.
17:43That's it, designers.
17:44I'm in trouble.
17:46Say goodbye to your models.
17:47Oh, God.
17:48Oh, I haven't had to pivot this hard at all this competition.
17:57Two dresses is too much.
17:59So the J-Lo dress is dead.
18:02I'm going to take this cocoon and make an extensive alteration.
18:07Okay, guys.
18:08One hour.
18:09I want my brother here to help me.
18:12They're both really talented.
18:13So am I jealous?
18:14Yes.
18:15And like, I want that.
18:16I have to redo my sleeves because they're ugly.
18:19I have to make the entire skirt.
18:20I'm feeling like this is deeply, deeply undoable.
18:24Good morning, designers.
18:26We have a show to do.
18:27Fashion superheroes, here we come.
18:28Be aggressive.
18:29Be aggressive.
18:31Be aggressive.
18:33Be aggressive.
18:34Be aggressive.
18:35Be aggressive.
18:36Be aggressive.
18:37Be a.
18:38Whoa.
18:39It's cold.
18:40We have a show to do.
18:41Fashion superheroes, here we come.
18:43They beat.
18:44Beat.
18:45Aggressive.
18:46Beat.
18:46Beat.
18:47Beat.
18:47Beat.
18:48Beat.
18:49Beat.
18:49Beat.
18:50Beat.
18:50Beat.
18:51Beat.
18:51Beat.
18:52Woo.
18:53That's cold.
18:53Dips out.
18:57Alania.
18:57Hello.
18:58Hi.
18:58Oh, God.
18:59Sorry to be scared.
19:00Yes.
19:00Emily's called in sick.
19:02So what we are thinking of doing is if we can move Shanae over
19:07to this look and we'll use the alt model for your episode
19:11four looks.
19:11Ooh.
19:13She's a lot smaller.
19:14Oh, dear God.
19:16Oh, my brain is frying.
19:20I made my dress to fit my size 20 model like a glove.
19:25What are you saying to me right now?
19:26I have three hours to make this size 20 into size 14, 12.
19:32I don't even know where to start right now.
19:34Model.
19:34Model.
19:35Model.
19:36Side boobie showing.
19:37Yes.
19:38We're going to cover for boobies.
19:40I had to find another way to use the black sheer.
19:43So I think having a little bit of sexy side boob moment in a scarf
19:46will be a little nod to the original piece.
19:50How are you guys doing?
19:51Good.
19:52Good doing.
19:53Alania, how's it going?
19:55My hand stopped shaking.
19:56I can sew.
19:57You can do it.
19:58I don't know.
20:00Beautiful.
20:01I'm gorgeous.
20:02Thank you for that advice.
20:03What would I do without you in my life?
20:05You're starting to make me have a crush on you.
20:07Everybody has a crush on me.
20:08Hello.
20:11What is that little thong?
20:12What in the world?
20:13Marina, I made you a floss.
20:15I am a Latina hooker, a sexy hooshie mama.
20:19Not everyone can make a thong.
20:20I know it's just a little string.
20:21But you got to get the right measurements because you don't want to see a camel toe with the floss.
20:26I don't know what that is.
20:29Joe cannot handle the thongs in the room.
20:32To me, a thong is not a fashion moment.
20:35Okay?
20:36That is underwear.
20:39Vijay and his designers are trying to separate Antonio and I.
20:43Well, maybe you two do need to separate.
20:45You're working on his garment right now.
20:47I'm going to separate you two.
20:48And then we'll see who wins.
20:50Bitch.
20:51Mm-mm.
20:52Ciao.
20:53See?
20:54Even Christian notices.
20:56What did he say?
20:58He's in the paradise.
20:59He's a little jealous.
21:01Oh my God.
21:02All right, designers.
21:03We're sending your model to the Ulta Beauty salon.
21:06The divas.
21:07I need to see what's going on in Glam.
21:09Okay, so this is...
21:10Let me see.
21:11Don't get crazy.
21:12I'm not...
21:13How are you feeling about it so far?
21:14You're the best, so I trust you.
21:15Oh my God.
21:16Every day, you know what?
21:17Every Ulta Beauty has a salon that you can walk into and have a consultation with a hairstylist
21:21or a makeup artist to make your vision come to life.
21:23We do the same day out, so don't even worry.
21:25We're going to make it happen for you.
21:26Perfect.
21:27I love Ulta Beauty.
21:28You guys are the best.
21:31Yes.
21:32Oh my God.
21:33It's done?
21:34No, it's not done yet.
21:35My hands are really, really tired.
21:38I will add more here.
21:40Are you?
21:41Yeah.
21:42I'm scared if I can really finish it on time.
21:44Yeah, you have like an hour.
21:45Mia.
21:46Can you come here?
21:47God damn it.
21:48Are you finished?
21:49Yeah.
21:50You need help some?
21:51Um, just stock this one.
21:53Okay.
21:54After that, I'm finished.
21:55Thank you so much.
21:57BJ, really?
21:58She gives me and my brother such a hard time because we help each other, but when she needs
22:03help, it's fine.
22:05Miss Madeline, how's your skirt?
22:07My goal was to get it done by the time the models got here.
22:09I am really far behind.
22:10Not you shuffling around.
22:11No.
22:12There's never enough time.
22:14At this point, like, I know I'm gonna hate this look.
22:18What the hell?
22:19But I just need it to be closed.
22:22All right, we're walking in 30 seconds, you guys.
22:30Yay.
22:31Hello, designers.
22:32Welcome to the runway.
22:33As I say in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day you're out.
22:37For this challenge, you were asked to create a look inspired by your unconventional materials
22:42design, but made completely out of fabric.
22:45The connection between the two must be visual and meaningful.
22:48All right, let's meet the judges.
22:50CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Laura Roach.
22:57Editor of Elle Magazine, Nina Garcia.
23:00Nina.
23:02And our guest judge for today, fashion designer and business titan,
23:06Jenna Lyons.
23:11All right, let's start the show.
23:20My looks looks very cohesive together.
23:22The bomber jacket looks so sexy, so hot, so modern, and the dress is cool.
23:28It's just so amazing.
23:30I feel so good.
23:31Super creative, a little superhero.
23:34But this still looks unconventional to me.
23:43I'm so nervous, but at the same time, I'm very, very excited and proud of myself.
23:49It's a representation of who I am as a designer.
23:52You can tell immediately that these two looks are labor of love.
23:59It's like there's an actual inspiration here.
24:01Yeah, so hot.
24:02Can't forget me.
24:03Perfecto.
24:04I'm not proud of what I put down today.
24:05It's not my best work.
24:06And I'm feeling like I don't want to watch this runway.
24:10I feel good.
24:11It doesn't look absolutely haphazard and crazy.
24:12It looks presentable.
24:13How did you get it to fit her that well?
24:15You see my fingers bleeding.
24:16The construction isn't bad.
24:17The dress is just ugly.
24:18Turn it up, turn it up now.
24:19Turn it up, turn it up now.
24:20Turn it up, turn it up now.
24:22Ain't no shittin' that you can't break through, ain't no limit to what you can't do.
24:26I feel good. It doesn't look absolutely haphazard and crazy. It looks presentable.
24:31How did you get it to fit her that well? You see my fingers bleeding.
24:36The construction isn't bad. The dress is just ugly.
24:39Turn it up, turn it up now. Turn it up, turn it up now.
24:43Ten is not enough. Take it to 11.
24:46This is exactly what my vision was.
24:49She is working it. She's feeling herself.
24:52She feels glamorous. She feels like a fashion icon.
24:55She feels like a rock star.
24:57Wow. It's interesting. Katie.
25:01I'm so excited because I think I nailed the challenge.
25:04They both look cohesive.
25:08I don't think my unconventional garment was that bad,
25:12but definitely this is an elevated version of that.
25:16The previous critiques lit a fire under my tail for me to show them what I got.
25:22And it's not enough.
25:25Wow.
25:30Pearl.
25:31Anastasia is making this a moment.
25:34The fashion fabric being so close to the original is cohesion.
25:39So I did my job.
25:41I'm proud of my little butterflies and they're flying so, so high.
25:52Wow. I'm seeing my blonde Barbie walk down the runway.
25:55It's so sexy.
25:56The magic word again is cohesion.
25:59She looks so good in there.
26:01I can taste the wind on the tip of my tongue that I've been waiting for.
26:06Hello.
26:15There were some really good looks you turned out.
26:18Obviously we're judging you by your second look,
26:21not your unconventional materials look.
26:23We've scored your designs.
26:25Let's find out the results.
26:28Yujin.
26:30Joan.
26:31The two of you are safe.
26:35Joan.
26:36I know I was extremely critical on you about your unconventional look,
26:41but you redeemed yourself.
26:44Ethan.
26:46BJ.
26:48Jesus.
26:50You had our favorite looks on the runway today.
26:52Congratulations.
26:56Unfortunately, that means Antonio, Madeline, and Bolania.
27:02You had our least favorite looks today.
27:06You guys can leave with the safe designers.
27:09I'm not surprised, but I'm praying, wishing, manifesting that I don't go home.
27:14Don't go home.
27:19Yeah.
27:20Guess who's back.
27:22I know, right?
27:23Back again.
27:24Let's bring out your models.
27:25Okay.
27:28All right, Jesus.
27:29Let's start with you.
27:30Okay.
27:31I loved your look.
27:32Thank you so much.
27:33It's stunning.
27:34I mean, how you made this too, that you can sew like this impeccably is like crazy, you know?
27:38Yeah.
27:39It is so chic.
27:40I love the exaggerated hips and that red strip down the back.
27:44As a stylist, I'm thinking, what does it look 360?
27:47You know, when they call it to the stylist, over the shoulder.
27:50This dress could be on any runway in Paris.
27:54Yeah.
27:55This is really, really, really, really well done.
27:57I'm always thinking about what Law like in my...
28:00Law likes it.
28:01So you did a good job.
28:02Thank you so much.
28:03The dress is beautiful.
28:04The shape is beautiful.
28:06But when I saw the red stripe, I was convinced this was Ethan's look.
28:13Yeah.
28:14I thought so, too.
28:15Ethan did that same stripe on the sportswear look.
28:19I mean, called plagiarism in my book.
28:21Yeah, it's a little.
28:22It's a little bit.
28:23It's a little bit.
28:24It's a little bit.
28:25I'm just saying.
28:27Oh, my God.
28:28Ethan did that same stripe.
28:35Wow, Nina.
28:37Just because there's a red stripe and Ethan did that for a feature, like, to me, like, I saw no resemblance.
28:43Like, I feel like I did it in a different way.
28:45And, like, I didn't even think of that.
28:47I think they inspire each other a lot.
28:49I am old for inspiration, but why this particular fabric?
28:54I mean, that was never my intention.
28:55That didn't even cross my mind.
28:57I picked the red just to reference from the mini dress.
29:00Plagiarism is a little harsh, but for Nina to have such an impact from my piece, I think, is an honor.
29:09So, sorry, Jesus, but if I own a red stripe now, maybe let me keep it.
29:16I don't have any history here, so I'm all for the red stripe.
29:19I loved it.
29:20The shape of the Duchess Satin and the way it wraps around her.
29:22Beautifully done.
29:23Thank you, Jesus.
29:25BJ?
29:26If you see what you can make out of a shuttlecock, it's quite amazing.
29:31Every time she says shuttlecock, I was watching that.
29:35Okay, everyone says shuttlecock.
29:36Shuttlecock.
29:37Shuttlecock.
29:38Shuttlecock.
29:39I love shuttlecock for you.
29:40We'll never forget that.
29:41We'll never forget it now.
29:43The fabric that you chose, it's the same feeling of what the shuttlecock is giving us, and also what you gave here.
29:49Like, you always want to have a lot of interest, you know, around your cleavage and everything, and it's giving all of that.
29:55It's fragile, but strong, unexpected, really marvelous.
30:01The transparency, the tailoring, everything was really smart.
30:06Yes.
30:07I mean, it's the most perfect side boob I've ever seen.
30:09Jumpsuits are hard to fit.
30:11It's just, I think it's spot on.
30:13Thank you so much.
30:14Ethan, you're next.
30:15What did you stuff into the hips?
30:17What did you put in there?
30:19It's batting.
30:20Ethan is the drag queen, so he knows how to pad a hip.
30:23Oh.
30:24Right, so that, that, he brought that in his little toolbox, you know.
30:27Yeah.
30:28Um, I think the dress is spectacular.
30:30I have to say, I'm kind of obsessed with it.
30:32I think the tailoring is great.
30:33I think you worked that dress like nobody's business.
30:36And the way that the shapes looked behind the screen when she came out, it was just phantasmical and really stunning.
30:42And I'm captivated by it.
30:43Can I see her without the...
30:45I mean, this is all you need.
30:51You didn't need the reveal.
30:53That's it.
30:54Can we just talk about the boobs when you see them on the side?
30:56I love it.
30:57I love those little cups that are poking out and giving that fabric.
31:00It's so cute.
31:01That little detail is so powerful.
31:04That's your reveal right there.
31:06You've got to understand to edit.
31:09All right, Ethan, BJ, Jesus, it's time to name the winner.
31:14Congratulations, BJ.
31:15Oh, my God.
31:17Good job, baby.
31:18You created our favorite look.
31:19Congrats.
31:20How does it feel?
31:21To be here and to...
31:22I'm speechless.
31:23I'm just happy.
31:24I cry when I'm happy.
31:25Yeah, this is tears of joy.
31:27You earned it.
31:28You absolutely earned it.
31:29Really beautiful.
31:30Yeah.
31:31Winning this challenge makes me feel a reward for all of us.
31:34You're so happy.
31:35You're so happy.
31:36You're so happy.
31:37You're so happy.
31:38You're so happy.
31:39You're so happy.
31:40You're so happy.
31:41You're so happy.
31:42You're so happy.
31:43It's hard for all the things that I've done to create those two looks, and I'm just really
31:49thankful that the judges appreciate my work.
31:51We have a winner.
31:52Yay!
31:53I knew it.
31:54I knew it.
31:56I knew it.
31:57Winning this gives me the assurance that if I work hard and be innovative, then I can
32:06win this whole thing.
32:07Okay, let's bring out the bottom looks.
32:10Antonio, Madeleine, Belania, unfortunately you were Oli's favorites today, let's bring
32:21out your models, oh my god, all right Belania, I'm just so confused by what you've done,
32:32I look at you and I see a young clued in fashion forward modern young woman, and then I see
32:38what you created today, and to me this looks like a real old-fashioned look, you are supposed to
32:44create for tomorrow, the fabric looks cheap, jersey fabric or something else in another color,
32:53this might be acceptable and might be okay, but with these colors and this fabric is not winning
32:59anything around here though, I've seen this dress, a corset with the ruffle autumn, and it's not my
33:05favorite. They're not twins, but they are sisters, Tacky and Jackie, and do you think this is a good
33:12dress? No, but today my model called out sick, so I had to take in my dress by at least eight inches.
33:19That's not an excuse, also the model and you had to take it in, that's the strong part, that's what
33:25you did well. I don't love the really chunky straps, I know that the person who you had originally put it
33:30on my degree. Yeah, she was a size 20. I couldn't put certain styles on my model, so I said, okay, I will
33:35make a beautiful silhouette kind of dress. Had you presented that as a bathing suit and a sarong cover-up,
33:42I think it would have made more sense. Like putting her in shorts or pants or even a bathing suit, you
33:47guys probably would have gave me the same comment. What I don't understand is the body language and
33:52attitude. Yeah, what is the attitude? So let's talk, let's back up and let's start there.
33:57Do you want to say something, but your lips keep trying to not? Well, here's your chance. I'm just
34:02taking back because there's a lot that happens before you guys see it. But a lot happens before
34:07we see it every runway. What are these feelings? Because you're coming off really, really rude.
34:13Agreed. Okay. He wants to fight.
34:20You're coming off really, really rude and like dismissive. I'm trying to control my emotions
34:26because I was trying to make my model feel comfortable and beautiful. And this is this
34:34model or the one that got sick? The one that got sick. Okay. I also think like you as a designer
34:39have to stay true to yourself. I don't really see you here. I think you should always stay true
34:43to yourself and what you think you would really want to create. I think that's really important.
34:49All right, Madeline, I don't see the cohesion. Here you have space girl in silver, shiny, flashy,
34:55and then you go to a somber, sad girl right next to her. It's like a whole different vibe I'm feeling
35:00from this. I actually like the way that you mimic the hard edges from your unconventional look.
35:07Just because you put some triangles onto the top doesn't make it cohesive for me.
35:12I really don't like the length of the skirt, the bottom of the skirt. Looks like a napkin.
35:18Like it's not enough strength. When you are presenting a runway, it's about the complete
35:25polished look. I think you're demure in your approach to your shapes. Like the skirt and the
35:30proportion of the top are almost the same. Can you raise the top? Yeah, like if it was tiny and the sleeve
35:36was tiny and it was a little bit of a crop top. I just think like you could have gone bigger and pushed
35:41that skirt and pushed that shape. It feels like you're holding back. Fair enough.
35:45Antonio.
35:46I actually was probably the only one that gave this a high score.
35:51I am. They only hated it.
35:54Chattel tail.
35:55That's very true.
35:57They look like modern girls of today. I love that it's sheer. I love that you see her G-string
36:02through it. I love her wet hair. It's very now. We can talk about the top. Obviously there's some
36:09fit issues here, but... The top is... What is the top? It's a belt. The top is... I have a belt like that.
36:15It's terrible.
36:16I don't know if it was intentionally asymmetrical, but it wasn't asymmetrical enough, so I couldn't tell
36:20if it was just twisted. It should have been. It could have been. It's not. I mean, just the wedge,
36:26I can't go... I can't. It's problematic.
36:29I'm not mad at it.
36:30I'm not mad at the pants. I don't think the pants are bad.
36:32I'm just saying when I see a wedge, my husband always loves a wedge.
36:35When I have jeans on that are like so tight that it's like... He thinks that's hot.
36:40It's like a really good stripper costume doll.
36:45There is no reason you walk this girl out of here with these incredible glaring airs.
36:51I don't know. I don't know how you've made it this far.
36:54In terms of construction, there's a lot of problems here.
37:00I'm pissed. Do you have the nerve to say why I'm still in the competition?
37:04I feel attacked.
37:06Well, you got the judges really torn.
37:09That was very polarizing, which is great. That's what fashion is about.
37:12I'm sorry.
37:13Madeline, Antonio, Balania, we have a lot to talk about.
37:18You can leave the runway. Thank you so much.
37:22Yeah.
37:23What did you hear?
37:24We haven't made the decision yet, right?
37:25No.
37:27Heidi loved my love.
37:28Nina hated it.
37:30She's like, I don't know how you've made it this far.
37:32I'm like, well...
37:33So, Madeline...
37:36To me, she's making sad clothes.
37:38You know what it is?
37:39It feels sad and poor.
37:42I don't see the cohesion.
37:43Like, the first one, when it came out, I was like, okay, it had some pop and, like, some fans of, like, sparkle to it.
37:50You also could feel that the model was loving that, too.
37:52It felt like somebody took the air out of it.
37:55Like, I'm not proud of what I put down today.
37:58I don't think it's representative of me as a designer.
38:01I don't want to be putting things out there that are confused and sad girl.
38:07I like Antonio.
38:08I feel like there's stuff in there.
38:10Nina hated it.
38:12I hate it.
38:12I've never saw her hate something so much.
38:15And look, I wrote, like, I wrote, like, my favorite.
38:17No, that was your favorite.
38:18Guys, Antonio is a little bit of smoke and mirrors.
38:23Well, he was the least offensive of the three.
38:25I don't know if Antonio can really deliver.
38:29I feel like my design wasn't the worst.
38:32Based on the challenge, when you put your heart and soul and you work for over 14 hours, I don't feel like the judges are understanding.
38:40And it's getting to me.
38:43What do you guys think about Blania?
38:45I was so sad to find out that that was her look.
38:48She has this great personal style.
38:50You think that's great personal style?
38:53You know, she's very memorable.
38:55I think Blania got thrown off trying to make someone else happy as opposed to doing her own thing.
38:59And it feels like that kind of tripped her up, maybe.
39:01I get a sense of personality from Blania.
39:04I think there's spark in there.
39:05She did have to, like, cinch that in a lot, Blania, no?
39:09That's what designers do.
39:10I know, but, like, last minute, already they have problems.
39:13That's what designers do.
39:14It was Carmen Miranda without fruit on her head.
39:17It is a literal prom dress.
39:18Yeah.
39:1980s prom dress.
39:20Bad 80s prom dress.
39:21Yes.
39:21Ah, Blania, why did you do this?
39:24I feel misunderstood because I tried to make something that I thought the judges wanted to see,
39:30but that was an epic fail.
39:32So, if I stay in this competition, I am not listening to what anybody else has to say.
39:39I'm going to listen to myself.
39:41It's a toss.
39:42So, who's the worst?
39:43It's a toss.
39:44Hi, hi, hi, hi.
39:52Next time on Project Runway, for your next individual challenge, we're going straight.
39:58This is literally your challenge.
40:00Like, what are you doing?
40:01If I don't do this right, I will be...
40:03Ethan.
40:04Come on.
40:05Let's put it on the man.
40:07Things are not working out as well as I thought they would.
40:09Get it together.
40:10Don't forget BJ's a silent killer, everyone.
40:14I've just focused on my work.
