Transcript
00:00Thanks Tisha. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. We're starting off with what happened today.
00:06The first major tropical storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, Tropical Storm Erin, could hit the Bahamas this weekend.
00:15As of the latest update on Monday afternoon, Erin had officially become a tropical storm west of the Cabo Verde Islands in the Central Atlantic Ocean.
00:25The storm was still a considerable distance away from any major landmass in the Caribbean.
00:31However, the National Hurricane Center project Erin to become a major hurricane by the end of the week.
00:38As high water temperatures allow for its development and intensification, the NHC has a forecast for Erin through Saturday morning,
00:48at which point the storm could be approaching the northeast coast of Puerto Rico.
00:54It is said that Erin could be either steered away from the U.S. and back out to sea or continue westward and impact travel in Florida and along the U.S. east coast.
01:06Heading back home now, looking at conditions in Portisville presently, TV6's Weather Center says downtown is mostly clear, with temperatures at 30 degrees Celsius.
