00:00After playing to a 1-1 draw against Bangladesh in the Caribbean it gets
00:04tougher and tougher for the West Indies who play both their test matches against
00:07hosts Pakistan and Multan later this month. Cricket analyst Fazir Mohammed is
00:12concerned about the West Indies batting which was vulnerable at home against
00:15eventual winners South Africa and then Bangladesh who came from behind to level
00:20matters. There may be players with some talent there may be players who have
00:23ability but it's not good enough to have a situation where some of your most
00:28established players averaging in the low to mid 30s no one averaging 40 that
00:33is a concern for the West Indies if we're talking about a team eventually
00:38being competitive enough to post decent totals that the bowlers could work with
00:43of the likes of Jaden Seals in the absence of an Al Zari Joseph can
00:47possibly spearhead the attack with the support of the the veteran Kemar Roach.
00:51Mohammed is fully aware Pakistan can be inconsistent as was shown by their 2-0
00:56loss to Bangladesh only to be followed by a 2-1 win against England having said
01:01that he gives the home side the edge. It is a team that is notorious for that
01:06inconsistency however they have world-class performers certainly with
01:10the ball they have quality players with the bat but they are very inconsistent as
01:14well and therefore it's going to be a challenge for the West Indies in all
01:18departments of the game if the Pakistanis are at their very best. Speaking of
01:23giving Pakistan the upper hand what is Mohammed's prediction in terms of the
01:27scoreline? As optimistic as one can hope to be about West Indies team performing
01:31in Pakistan and relying on the Pakistanis to self-destruct which they
01:36can do as well the reality is if they perform that is the home team Pakistan
01:40perform anywhere near to their potential both batting and bowling it's likely to
01:45be 2-0 in favor of Pakistan over the West Indies. With Al Zari Joseph out due
01:49to personal commitments and Shama Joseph injured the cricket analyst says
01:54it gives pacer Anderson Philip another opportunity to try and prove himself
01:58regarding the selection of keeper batsman Amir Jangu Mohammed gives it the
02:02thumbs up saying that the 27 year old has to try and make the most of it. If he
02:07breaks into the 11 it's a tremendous opportunity for him and one would hope
02:10that he keeps his feet on the ground that he doesn't get carried away with
02:14the praise and all of the adulation from that ODI debut and recognizes that
02:20this could be a very different challenge he may have all the tools he may have
02:24the temperament but taking on world-class performers in their own
02:27conditions in Multan is going to be a very different challenge but one would
02:31certainly hope that with the same attitude and the same sort of
02:34commitment and dedication that he will do well. The first test match starts
02:39January 17th and game two bowls off on the 25th.
