Assemblyman Wane Clarke took the oath as Secretary of Community Development, Youth Development and Sport from President Christine Kangaloo, at President's House, on Friday.

While another THA Secretary is to be reassigned to Mr. Clarke's Division on Monday. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00I, Wayne Clark, do swear by Almighty God that I will bear true faith and allegiance to Trinidad and to people, and will uphold the Constitution and the law.
00:19Mr. Clark is to be assigned to the Division of Community Development on Monday. The Chief Secretary has also confirmed that Assemblyman Megan Morrison, Assistant Secretary in the Division of Health, Wellness, and Social Protection, has been reassigned to the Division of Community Development, Youth Development, and Sport as Assistant Secretary with effect from Monday, 28th, July, 2025.
00:46It's just about coming to do the work and extending the service.
00:51As for his plans for the Division of Community Development, Clark said there will be continued improvements of sporting facilities across Tobago and development of the youths.
01:03Just to continue what we have been doing so far.
01:07Could you give me a few initiatives that you plan to put forward?
01:11We have a lot of things in Trinidad now. We are currently on an island-wide campaign to get the sporting facilities, some that were dormant, up and running.
01:24Do some more interaction with youth development. You know, we have a lot of youth programs.
01:30Basically, just improving on those things.
01:34Additionally, I am reassigning Ms. Megan Morrison, Assemblyman Megan Morrison, who is currently at the Division of Health, Wellness, and Family Protection, or Social Protection, across to the Division of Community Development as well.
01:51So, Mr. Clark will get additional help.
01:55COMDEV is that division that we have to drive initiatives to create a much more cohesive community and help us in the fight against crime.
