00:00And so we sit and we take a strategic audit of all we've been able to do, what festivals really make sense, which ones are valuable and viable and lucrative enough for us to maintain, if we need to revisit, sit at the table again.
00:15Secretary Hackett was also asked about Tobago's participation in the upcoming National Carnival, emphasizing the importance of balancing fiscal responsibility with cultural celebrations.
00:28Tobago has to fund the National Carnival, I mean, with support of the NCC, but we are always left, you know, to more or less allocate resources accordingly there.
00:40And so with that type of balance that we must maintain, we understand that we may have to revisit the output for National Carnival without taking away from the festivities at that.
00:50Secretary of Youth Empowerment and Sport, Keegan De Noon, says his portfolio aligns well with his skills and vision for youth development.
01:01When I heard the announcement today, I was quite pleased because the area I'm quite familiar with and I look forward to serving in this capacity to the best of my ability, ensuring that young people, more so the sporting fraternity, not only know that they are represented, but feel representation at this level.
01:17Education Skills and Innovation Secretary Orlando Kerr spoke to the long-standing issue of contract teachers and leave classification.
01:28He says those issues remain high on his agenda.
01:31Those are things that are high on the priority list.
01:34The issue of the leave classification, I know that we would have received some correspondence from the central government in relation to that.
01:40So I know that that is in train and that should be done soon.
01:44In terms of the contract teachers, I know that that had also started.
01:47So we're going to simply continue with the progress of that.
01:51Housing, settlements and the public utilities secretary, Ricky Jofield, confirms that sustainable housing development continues to be a central focus.
02:01In terms of housing and settlements, if you read my bio, I've worked at Town Country Planning for almost my whole life.
02:07So being a part of the whole housing development in Tobago, I am pretty much aware of it.
02:13So what I will bring to the table is how to do development in a most sustainable way.
