00:00Amid her distress, a sign of hope for Anastasia Figaro, who lost her one-room dwelling structure on July 14th after part of a tree came crashing down, pinning her inside the structure.
00:12Officials from MP Marvin Gonzalez's office visited her on Thursday afternoon, less than 24 hours after he was made aware of her situation.
00:22Gonzalez tells us Figaro was interviewed by his team to assess her needs.
00:27And we've promised support from the constituency office.
00:31So far, she has indicated that if she can get the material, she will arrange her own labor to do the reconstruction.
00:39And that is fair enough because there's an absence of proper documentation for the land and other legal constraints that we might experience.
00:48MP Gonzalez says she will receive the assistance that she has requested.
00:52So, we will mobilize resources and get the necessary material from the constituency, donors, etc.
01:00And we will help her in the rebuilding process.
01:04So, that's the update so far.
01:06The visit has been very successful and she has been quite open to the team from the constituency office.
01:12And we have given her the assurance that we will continue to be in contact with her and to assist in providing the appropriate resources that she needs.
01:26It comes as TV6 News visited Figaro on Wednesday, where she made a plea for help, having been rendered homeless.
01:34Her concerns were compounded at that time by her 31-year-old diabetic son, who was hospitalized in critical condition two days before she lost the home that she shared with him.
01:45Figaro has also lost furniture and appliances.
