00:10:12It is such a special stadium. I'm sure many of you listening and watching will have visited
00:10:17and I think there is not a day goes by when there's not Celtic supporters there. It is
00:10:21a pilgrimage. I have to tell you that when we won the European Cup, that was the first
00:10:26time that Celtic made me cry. Is that right? Yeah, because apparently I was 10 months old
00:10:30and sleeping in my cot and everybody was at my house, my mum and dad, my uncles, my granny
00:10:34and then when Davy Chalmers scored, the whole place erupted and woke me up and I started
00:10:38crying. It's an incredible thing to watch that there, Paul, it really is. The backdrop to that
00:10:44stadium, it's a strange looking, it's not like you're run of the mill stadium. We're used
00:10:48to watching the scenes of 1967 there. It doesn't look as if it's changed a great deal and it
00:10:54must have been an amazing experience for the players and staff there to go and stand
00:10:58in footsteps, you know, that we've watched so often over the years. And it would have
00:11:02been an emotional one as well because obviously John Clark we've lost so recently as well.
00:11:07I was lucky enough to work with John and Bobby Lennox in my time here. So it's incredible
00:11:11and it must have been some experience for the guys.
00:11:13Yeah, and I think they are planning to do some upgrades to the stadium, but as far as I'm
00:11:18aware and touch wood, they're not going to change the kind of general facade because
00:11:21it's such a unique stadium.
00:11:23And as you say, and the manager says there as well, the people who work at the stadium
00:11:29say Celtic fans are turning up virtually every day to that stadium. It's incredible.
00:11:33Yeah, it's incredible. And also I think a lot of credit goes to the people who work
00:11:37at that stadium because they are always so generous with their time and so welcoming to
00:11:41the Celtic fans and obviously the other day to the Celtic team as well. And I think when
00:11:45you see the manager and the players going on and then actually taking some photographs
00:11:50themselves, it kind of brings it into a perspective of how much it means to them.
00:11:53It must do. It must do. And a little bit envious. I've never had the experience to go there
00:11:59and, you know, experience that. Just been on that turf and looking up, as Callum McGregor
00:12:04said, to where Billy McNeil lifts the trophy. As I say, they're so familiar with those pictures
00:12:08over the years watching it to just be there. And especially guys like you, Cairn Tierney
00:12:14and Callum McGregor that have come through the club, James Forrest, and have met a lot
00:12:19of these players over the Lisbon Lions over the years. It must have been a special moment.

00:14:08going to be fans here tonight helps as well in terms of the build up and the type of game
00:14:12it will be. Yeah, I think it always helps. You know, we experienced it in lockdown as well.
00:14:17The fans just games lack a little bit. I know that it was a behind closed doors game. It's
00:14:22maybe a smaller scale game tonight. It's a significantly more famous opposition they're
00:14:27playing. So it helps the players. You know, it's still preparation. We emphasise that from
00:14:32the start of the show, but it still helps when there's fans in the ground and especially
00:14:36to see a few Celtic fans making the journey or if indeed during the holidays they're taking
00:14:41advantage of the game.

00:15:11striving for peak fitness. You're working towards that first game of the season. It's a nightmare

01:12:38when I was 17

01:12:40so when I look back
