00:07:10And VAR didn't spot it.
00:07:12Yeah.
00:07:12And then obviously this guy.
00:07:14We've covered enough games to know that when the ball falls to him in an area like that.
00:07:20It's a cool head.
00:07:21You know what?
00:07:21He could have swiped at that when it was too high.
00:07:24He lets it come down.
00:07:26Takes that split second.
00:07:28And slots it away.
00:07:29And he's popped up with some important goals.
00:07:31And you wouldn't be surprised if he's used off the bench in this second half.
00:07:34Somebody of his experience and composure in that 18-yard box.
00:07:37Yeah, I think you could put your money on Kelechi Iannaccio coming on at some point.
00:07:41Martin O'Neill still questions his fitness levels to be able to last the 90 minutes.
00:07:46But there's absolutely no doubting his finishing ability.
00:07:49So I'm sure we'll see Kelechi at some point.
00:07:51I mentioned Hearts dropping points last night at Fir Park.
00:07:55That one-inch draw against Motherwell.
00:07:57Which means this is how the Premiership table currently looks.
00:08:00Hearts are top.
00:08:01Four points clear of Celtic.
00:08:03Of course, Hearts are to come here on the last day of the season next Saturday.
00:08:07So if Celtic can pick up a couple of victories, it will be effectively, Simon, a winner-takes-all here
00:08:12next Saturday.
00:08:13Incredible.
00:08:14It really is.
00:08:14And as I said at the top of the show there, it's hard to think.
00:08:18It's boiled down to this.
00:08:19Three big games in one week to decide this title.
00:08:23But with last night's result going our way, we have to capitalise and take advantage this afternoon.
00:08:28And it's fair to say though, let's be honest, Simon, Rangers, we have struggled against Rangers over 90 minutes in
00:08:35the last, well, nine fixtures actually.
00:08:37You've got to go back 20 months to find a victory over Rangers over the 90 minutes.
00:08:41You know, Celtic have had their moments against Rangers this season.
00:08:46In the league, it's been a bit up and down with Bobby trying to call on the captain, of course,
00:08:52for his experience in this fixture.
00:08:53And players that can produce a little bit of magic like this.
00:08:56Yeah, definitely.
00:08:58As I say, your stat there on 20 months is incredible because of the dominance Celtic have had in domestic
00:09:05campaigns over the piece.
00:09:07But I think these games at Ibrox, I think, will give the players a shot in the arm.
00:09:11You know, coming back in the league game, seeing the cup game out, penalties.
00:09:16We were down to the bare bones.
00:09:18Player-wise, Tatico Cup with this one for the crucial point.
00:09:22Ibrox have kept us in the title race at that time, effectively.
00:09:25But I just think this afternoon, I think there's this Celtic support behind us.
00:09:30And I think on the back of these two games, I think, will be enough to get us over the
00:09:33line and get a victory.
00:09:35Yeah, that was the penalty victory against Rangers in the Scottish Cup.
00:09:40Martin O'Neill is renowned for his pre-match team talks.
00:09:44Some of the ex-players who've played under him talk about, in particular, the team talk he gave before the
00:09:48game against Liverpool in the UEFA Cup at Anfield.
00:09:51Will you be expecting another similar kind of stirring words from the manager to get the players going?
00:09:58Yeah, I think so. I think so. I mean, speaking to teammates that worked under Martin, that's where the magic
00:10:04happens, that's where he comes alive.
00:10:06You know, man in management on days like this, big days like this.
00:10:09And I said during the week, I think when you look at Martin and his staff and the experience there,
00:10:13and then you touch on the likes of Callum McGregor,
00:10:15I guaranteeing the guys that have been over the course before, I think that can only help in situations like
00:10:20this afternoon.
00:10:21Well, Callum McGregor is a veteran of this mixture. He'll be crucial to how the team performs on the pitches.
00:10:28Leadership under pressure has resulted in a trophy-laden career for the man who's been at the club for 25
00:10:33years.
00:10:34He's been speaking to Dale and Daugherty.
00:10:47Callum, we're heading into another massive Glasgow derby on Sunday.
00:10:51Given the meetings with Rangers this season, two cup wins and a draw in the league under Martin O'Neill,
00:10:57what do you take from those games into this one?
00:11:01Yeah, just the same. Obviously, the games were tight. We have to be at our best if we want to
00:11:06win the game.
00:11:07It goes with it saying, it's obviously a home game. We want to try and bring the crowd in and
00:11:11start well, start fast,
00:11:13and hopefully get on top of them that way. So, these games at home are always vital.
00:11:18And then obviously we know the context of where we are. It's even more important that we do everything we
00:11:24can to win the game
00:11:25and then set up what will be really important for the last five days.
00:11:29I looked up your record. 47 times you've played in the Glasgow derby. You've won 25 of them.
00:11:37Six goals that you've scored against Rangers. Obviously, now as captain, you've spoken about that experience.
00:11:42But you've also spoken in the past about using emotion right in the game as well,
00:11:47because if you go in without emotion, sometimes it doesn't come off for you.
00:11:51How can you use the emotion come Sunday, given everything around the wider picture?
00:11:57Yeah, that's it. I think you have to take all of it into context. I think you have to understand
00:12:01that this is a big game.
00:12:04You know, they're all big games, but this is a big game. So, you have to be calm enough to
00:12:09know what it is you need to do
00:12:11and how to carry it out, but you also have to play on the edge of, you know, 3%, 4%,
00:12:165% more than normal.
00:12:18And that could be the difference. The supporters will be the same. It's almost like that Champions League kind of
00:12:24atmosphere.
00:12:25And these derby games, you know, they just give you something different. They just give you a little edge.
00:12:30And we have to use all of that, everybody at the club, to push in the direction that we want
00:12:37to be.
00:12:37Obviously, we want to commit the game. Having won it, it'll take a big effort.
00:12:42And then if we do that, we then park it. And then we do the same again on Wednesday night.
00:12:47So, like I said, we have to understand the context. And then it's about bringing everything you've got to the
00:12:53table to see where that will focus.
00:12:54There's probably a feeling out with Celtic that a Hearts title win would be almost good for Scottish football.
00:13:01But from our point of view, we want Celtic to be as successful as possible.
00:13:06If you were to win the title this season, where would that rank for you and all your collection of
00:13:13Celtic trophies?
00:13:15Yeah, like you said, obviously we don't want to tempt fate. We want to, of course, be the team that
00:13:20goes on and lifts it
00:13:21and we'll do everything we can. And I think if we do, it'll be a monumental achievement.
00:13:28I think, to be honest, it's quite often we've done really good to get to the point where we've almost
00:13:34been comfortable.
00:13:35And that in its own right is also very impressive, but especially when it gets to this point in the
00:13:40season where it was probably three horse race,
00:13:45maybe now two horse race, but it takes a different kind of mentality, a different kind of attitude to be
00:13:53chasing and knowing that one bad result can knock you out.
00:13:56So if we do go and do it, then with all the adversity that we'll face this season, yeah, it
00:14:02would definitely rank right up there.
00:14:04And just finally, Callum, before you keep going on with your preparation, what's your message be to the supporters coming
00:14:10along to Celtic Park on Sunday?
00:14:13How important can they be in driving the team on to another big win?
00:14:17Yeah, they're hugely important, as they always are. They're so, so important for this football club.
00:14:24You've seen it in the last few weeks. The temperature's just started to be lifted. The team are responding well.
00:14:31Like I said, it's a derby game against Rangers at home. We always want to give the maximum we can
00:14:37in that game.
00:14:38We want to be successful so everybody has a part to play. The players will hopefully give them something to
00:14:44get off their seats about
00:14:45and then hopefully we can create that special atmosphere that will take us across the line.
00:15:15O'Reilly goes for goal, and this time, this time, Mark O'Reilly finds the back of the net!
00:15:23Aida, cut back, it's great, it's a known goal! And Celtic have got a second! Just a moment after they
00:15:33took the lead!
00:15:36Anisic thinks that one to the far post, the header there across goal, and Rangers have a goal back!
00:15:43Sliding tackle goes in there! The yellow card is cancelled, the red card is out!
00:15:50Full-time whistle goes! Celtic have won the Glasgow Derby!
00:15:56And those six points clear at the top of the Premiership table!
00:16:07Paradise Windfall Jackpot today is a whopping £25,000 on the golden ticket!
00:16:13You can be in with a chance to win that whopping amount, but getting yourself a ticket via the Celtic
00:16:18Pools app!
00:16:19£2 it will cost you, you've got to be inside the UK or Ireland to take part, and of course,
00:16:24you've got to be at least 18 years to play!
00:16:27About £25,000 you have up until kick-off to take part! Good luck!
00:16:32I'm delighted to see joining me now, pre-match, Celtic hockey for Kasper Schmeichel!
00:16:37Kasper, I know you're out injured just now, but how much are you enjoying this atmosphere?
00:16:41And is it a bit, maybe, more nerve-wracking watching than being out there?
00:16:45You know, it's, it's, listen, the atmosphere, yeah, I'm not surprised, it is amazing!
00:16:51It's torturous to be on the sideline, but wow! Like, what a day for it! Everything on the line, what
00:16:57more can you ask for?
00:16:58What kind of stage will the boys be at just now? How will they be feeling? Will they just be
00:17:02desperate to get out there and get the game started?
00:17:05I think, at this stage, you just want to play. And, you know, I don't know, for the first time,
00:17:10I'm pretty, pretty calm today.
00:17:13No, actually not, because at training yesterday, I'm watching the boys, having a look at body language, seeing how, you
00:17:18know, what the mood's like.
00:17:19And, yeah, after that was really reassuring for me, so I'm pretty confident today, I think we're in a good
00:17:26place.
00:17:28Lads are on it, you know, you can tell in training when everyone's ratting about, everyone's getting on it,
00:17:33and then you come into this cauldron, that's, if you can't be inspired by that, then what chance you got?
00:17:38We've just been hearing from Callum McGregor, he's a veteran of this fixture, of course. How much will his leadership
00:17:44and players like him be crucial today?
00:17:46I mean, he is the most important player, there's no question. He is the tone setter, he's the standard bearer.
00:17:54Every single day in training, you know, he's the guy who's setting the tone, and I'm one of those guys.
00:18:02I'll say Callum McGregor is by far one of the best players I've ever played with, but as a leader,
00:18:07as a captain, I haven't seen much better in my career.
00:18:11What the club means to him, it shines through every single day in the work that he puts in, and
00:18:15it's an inspiration to everybody.
00:18:17Like I say, he is the driving force, he's the driving force behind everything. In the dressing room now, he'll
00:18:22be the one, you know, he'll be, he'll be, he's like having a coach on the pitch.
00:18:26How much is it crucial that players play the game and not the occasion?
00:18:31Well, that's, that's, that's where it becomes a job, because you have to, you have to have a level of
00:18:38emotion to play these games without question.
00:18:40But, there is a game to be played, and there will be a lot of emotion, and you have to
00:18:45not let that frustration or elation boil over.
00:18:48You have to keep a calm head, but you also have to play with your heart and with pride in
00:18:53these games.
00:18:53Because, at the end of the day, football is about pride. It's about living these kind of moments, and like
00:18:58I said, I'd have given absolutely anything to be on the pitch today.
00:19:01It's horrible standing here, but, yeah, I'm so jealous. It's, yeah, these are the, these are the days you dream
00:19:07of.
00:19:07Let me ask you about, you know, teammates at Leicester, Kelechi Iheanacho. You know, football's about scoring goals as well.
00:19:14He's on the bench today. I don't think there's any doubt he will come on at some point.
00:19:18What, what is it about Kelechi that, that allows him to do what he does when we need him the
00:19:23most?
00:19:24Well, Kelly, I've obviously played with Kelly for, for many years at Leicester, and he, he's an instinctive finisher, and
00:19:30he's, he's just that character, you know.
00:19:32From a goal scorer, you want that bit of, that bit of arrogance, that bit of self-assurance, and Kelly's
00:19:39very self-assured.
00:19:40He's, he's one of these guys that, he is himself, he's unapologetically himself.
00:19:44He doesn't really care what people think about him, because at the end of the day, he knows what he
00:19:48can do.
00:19:49And I'm just, I'm so glad that, that everyone's seeing what, you know, I was lucky enough to see at
00:19:54Leicester for many years,
00:19:55and, and now he's coming up with the most important goals at the most important times.
00:19:59Yeah, he is indeed, and Celtic may rely on, on him this afternoon.
00:20:04It's a league title, Casper, that many football fans across Europe are talking about because of how strong Hearts have
00:20:12been.
00:20:12I know that as a footballer, you don't tend to look at results elsewhere, but with Hearts dropping a couple
00:20:18of points last night,
00:20:19it puts it back into Celtic's hands. How confident are you and your teammates that they can focus and get
00:20:26these three wins that will take us over the line?
00:20:28Listen, you're right. At the end of the day, you want to be in a position where it's in your
00:20:33hands.
00:20:34The most important thing, and that's been the message all the way through, is don't look at anyone else.
00:20:38Don't look at what others are doing. We can only affect what we can affect on the pitch.
00:20:42If we start investing emotion and energy into what others are doing, that's going to detract from what we're doing
00:20:50out here,
00:20:50and we need every, every single bit of energy out there.
00:20:52So the message has been a lot. It's just, just focus on us, win our games, and that's all we
00:20:57can do now.
00:20:57That's the position we're in. But obviously with, with, with the result yesterday, obviously everyone knows the result,
00:21:02everyone sees the result. It's, it puts in our hands in a way where we, we do our jobs and
00:21:07we'll get there.
00:21:07And, and having been in and around the training ground in the dressing room, yeah, I'm, I'm pretty confident now.
00:21:14I'm sure you've been speaking to Phil as well. You know, you're a man for the big occasion.
00:21:17How equipped is Phil to be able to, to deal with a situation in a match like this?
00:21:22Oh, he's very equipped. I think what I always kind of say to any of the younger keepers is, you
00:21:28know, as long as you do your homework,
00:21:29like you do all the things that you need to do, and you've done it since you were a child,
00:21:34you know, then there's nothing to worry about.
00:21:36This is actually about enjoying now. This is a reward for all those hours. This is a reward for the
00:21:41sacrifice and all those things.
00:21:42So go out and enjoy it because there's like, I'm obviously in a position now where I'm not going to
00:21:48be able to play in a game like this now.
00:21:51So, you know, you've got to enjoy. You never know when you get the chance to do it again.
00:21:54Yeah. And let me ask you finally about the manager, Martin O'Neill. Historically, he's been known to make some
00:22:00big,
00:22:00stirring pre-match speeches in the dressing room. Will you be expecting something like that from him today?
00:22:09Yeah, he can go that way. He can also go the other way and let the players talk. You know,
00:22:14a lot of the time, I think he's very astute.
00:22:18He'll kind of read the room. He'll take the temperature of the room, see are the lads there where I
00:22:22need them to be?
00:22:23And if they are, I'll leave them to it. If he feels like he needs to do something, he'll do
00:22:28it.
00:22:28But, you know, when you've got someone like Callum in that room as well, he'll say a lot of the
00:22:34things that the manager would say anyway.
00:22:37So sometimes he'll just say just, yeah, what Callum said, you know, it's exactly what we need.
00:22:41But he's, you know, he's an incredibly experienced manager, very, very astute, very knowledgeable.
00:22:47He'll know what needs to be said and what doesn't need to be said.
00:22:49And just finally, Casper, a word about these Celtic supporters. You've witnessed it firsthand playing in this atmosphere.
00:22:55How much will they be crucial this afternoon?
00:22:57Honestly, I've said it so many times before. This stadium, when it's like this, you've won in the tunnel sometimes
00:23:04because it is the absolute best atmosphere you could possibly play in. I've never played in an atmosphere like this.
00:23:11It is, when you're a Celtic player playing in front of this, it's the most inspiring thing you can ever
00:23:17do.
00:23:19You know, I'm so grateful that I've had the opportunity to do this. It's, yeah, it is unique.
00:23:25People travel from all over the world to experience these kind of experiences.
00:23:30And as a player, the fact that I've been able to do that, I'm just really, really, yeah, really proud
00:23:34of it.
00:23:34We can hardly hear each other now, Casper. Thank you so much for taking the time. We can now hear
00:23:39from Celtic manager Martin O'Neill, who's with John Ledwood.
00:23:43It's often said that derby matches take care of themselves, but is there an extra edge to this one given
00:23:48the circumstances in the league as it is?
00:23:50Yeah, I'd probably agree with you. You know, Celtic Rangers game, no matter when you play it, it's a big,
00:23:55big match.
00:23:55But it's obviously the importance, particularly from our viewpoint, is, well, it's extreme, really.
00:24:03Now, we're used to seeing you start with two perhaps more traditional wingers. Luke McEwan starts today. What's the thinking
00:24:08behind that change?
00:24:10Well, Luke has been doing very, very well. Alistair Johnson's coming in and Alistair's going to give him a lot
00:24:15of support, of course, then.
00:24:16And, yeah, it's just a little change of formation for us as far as we're concerned in terms of Luke
00:24:24being wide east right but cutting in on the left.
00:24:28I think this match will start off at 100 miles an hour. I don't think that would be a surprise.
00:24:32How do you find the balance between that energy and perhaps the composure that can make the difference in these
00:24:38games?
00:24:38I think you've summed it. I think composure is really important, of course. I think discipline is really important as
00:24:43well, too, in these games.
00:24:44You can't get carried away. You can't get carried away with the emotion of the situation. And that's important for
00:24:50us.
00:24:50You know, so those things have to play with your heart. Of course, that's most important. And play with your
00:24:56head.
00:24:57I mean, Fergus McCann built this arena. I'm sure it was with games and days like this in mind. How
00:25:02big a park can the fans within it play today?
00:25:04Oh, listen, throughout the years, it's huge mention since the stadium, since Fergus McCann put this thing together.
00:25:09And it has been it's been a fantastic stadium. You only have to listen to fantastic managers throughout the world
00:25:17talking about this here today.
00:25:19Celtic Rangers game don't come much bigger.
00:25:21Best of luck. Thank you.
00:25:25He looks very calm and that is really good to see. We're only minutes from kickoff here at Celtic Park.
00:25:29We'll be joining your commentary team of Paul Curry and Peter Grant in just a second.
00:25:34First of all, let's hear from Benjamin Negrin. A short time ago, he spoke to John Ledwith.
00:25:39Benjamin, it's a huge occasion today. Can you describe the mood in the camp going into this one?
00:25:44No, the mood is fantastic. It's a massive game today and we have to go out there and win.
00:25:51And of course, your first season in Scotland. You've now played several of these games. What would it mean to
00:25:55you today to have you get your name on the score sheet again and what's been a fantastic season thus
00:25:59far?
00:26:00That would be absolutely amazing. I hope I can help the team today and win the game. We have it
00:26:06in our own hands now. So it's exciting.
00:26:09And of course, with that result last night, I know you don't need any more incentive, but does it add
00:26:14just a little bit to the game today?
00:26:17Yeah, the focus has always been at ourselves. But now it's really in our hands. So if we win all
00:26:27games, we win the league.
00:26:28Best of luck. Thank you very much.
00:26:30Thanks very much.
00:26:34Paradise is rocking. We are just about five minutes away from kickoff.
00:26:38Wherever you are in the world, I am absolutely sure your nerves are jangling because ours are here.
00:26:45The sun is shining over Paradise. A blue sky, a green clutch, green and white.
00:26:50The Celtic fans in fine voice. And Martin O'Neill's side know exactly what they have to do.
00:26:56They win the next three games and we are the champions again and it starts this afternoon.
00:27:01High noon at Paradise, Celtic versus Rangers.
00:27:05Regardless of what happened elsewhere this weekend, Celtic always knew they were going to have to win this game.
00:27:11But the fact that Hearts dropped two points means that a victory this afternoon will reduce the deficit to just
00:27:17one point at the top of the table ahead of two vital games.
00:27:23And I have to tell you, the stadium is absolutely packed. The atmosphere is incredible.
00:27:30The Celtic fans are coming here ready to see what we hope is another victory this afternoon.
00:27:38Peter Grant, you've experienced these atmospheres as a player, as a fan.
00:27:44You're a pundit this afternoon. It's just a special, special stage for Celtic.
00:27:49It's made, you know, it's a beautiful day. Everything's set for it.
00:27:53Now you have to put the performance in because I've always said, Paul, throughout the season, it's all about Celtic
00:27:58doing.
00:27:58It's all about Celtic concentrating on themselves.
00:28:00And I'm sure Martin's experience has told the guys this is the game that's the most important.
00:28:05And it always was going to be because it was interesting to see the Harps result last night.
00:28:09I'm sure that's a massive plus. There is no doubt about that.
00:28:12But the bottom line is Celtic have come out here knowing it's a game that you always have to win.
00:28:17It's the next one on the calendar. But what a fantastic position they're in now that it's in your own
00:28:22hands if you go and get a victory today.
00:28:24An absolute picture of concentration.
00:28:27Calum McGregor absolutely focused, a veteran of this fixture.
00:28:35572 appearances for Celtic. He's got six goals in this fixture.
00:28:41Six of his 77 goals have come against Rangers this afternoon.
00:28:46The 11 men who start the game and, of course, the men on the bench will play their part.
00:28:52And hopefully another victory for the green and white half of Celtic.
00:28:58As both sides are greeted as they head out onto the pitch.
00:29:02The referee this afternoon, Nick Waltz, the VAR referee, John Beaton.
00:29:06The Celtic song reverberates around paradise.
00:29:10And Martin O'Neill's side know exactly what they have to do in the sunshine at paradise.
00:29:15They need to win this game and hopefully close in on a fifth-league title in a row.
00:29:22We can certainly send plenty of supporters home.
00:29:27Happy this afternoon, of course.
00:29:29There will be plenty more watching and listening around the world.
00:29:32And thank you for joining us on Celtic TV wherever you are.
00:29:35We hope we can deliver a victory this afternoon.
00:29:40Of course, it's all to do with the men wearing the green and white hoops this afternoon.
00:29:43They are tasked with that responsibility.
00:29:46And I'm sure they know exactly what they have to do.
00:29:50And that is to beat their rivals.
00:29:55The last derby game of the season.
00:30:02Martin O'Neill still to appear, just shakes hands with Danny Roe.
00:30:07Dyson Maida, a crucial player in this picture, of course, and a fine run of form.
00:30:13With four goals in his last three games.
00:30:19I'll just go through the team shortly, but we'll just let you hear and savour the wonderful sights and sounds
00:30:26of You'll Never Walk Alone.
00:30:27Let's sing.
00:30:42Let's sing.
00:30:48Let's sing.
00:30:50Let's sing.
00:30:55Let's sing.
00:31:58In football, I have tears in my eyes, it's so emotional.
00:32:02It will be Rangers to get the game underway, Celtic with one change from last weekend, that's Luke McCown in
00:32:07for Sebastian Tenekte, he'll start on the right of that front three.
00:32:11Rangers have three changes to their side as we get the game underway.
00:32:14Of course, they lost last weekend at Tenekastle.
00:32:20An important 90 minutes ahead for both sides, but Celtic, of course, also, Peter, want to start as quickly as
00:32:29possible and ideally get that early lead.
00:32:32Yeah, you've always got to start quickly here at Celtic Park, especially when you hear the noise of the fans,
00:32:36you want to keep them with you.
00:32:38It's interesting, the first thing Rangers have done is went long, that's what they've done every time they've played Celtic,
00:32:42they don't do it against anyone else.
00:32:44And we have to be careful, I didn't think at Ibrox in that first 60 minutes we picked up enough
00:32:49of that when they went long, so if we can do it this time and get control of the game,
00:32:53we can make it difficult for Rangers because of the way they've set up with their two wide floors tucked
00:32:57in a little bit.
00:33:03It's only over the halfway line, you immediately hear the roar of the crowd, Negrim's inside, Negrim just switches it
00:33:11back to his captain.
00:33:16Negrim's 20 goals this season still to score against Rangers, they've got a great time just to put that one
00:33:23to bed, top goal scorer of the season, the player of the year as well.
00:33:27So we don't know who's going to score for Celtic this afternoon, so long as it's someone in green and
00:33:33white, Sean Maloney's just standing on the edge of the technical area at the moment, Mark O'Neill sits in
00:33:39the dugout, Luke McCown.
00:33:40Round the right, gives it to Engels.
00:33:46Rangers win the throw in just in front of their own technical area, these games always fast and frantic, and
00:33:54you never really get a breather until the end of the game.
00:33:56Yeah, hopefully when you're celebrating.
00:33:59Well, you'll see the difference here as the series are going a little bit longer, but also they're putting Diamandis
00:34:03near Callum.
00:34:04They're trying to put go man for man in the middle of the pitch, so they've given Diamandis that job.
00:34:09I don't think he's disciplined enough to do that job, I think Callum can get a lot of the ball
00:34:13if he plays off the back of him,
00:34:15because I think he's a ball follower in the respect of that, so hopefully we can exploit that.
00:34:19But I'd still like us to go beyond Rangers at times, because too many times if we've played with Fountain
00:34:24they're quite happy.
00:34:27There's Diamandis on the ball at the moment, he only just steps in, knocks it to the middle of the
00:34:30park,
00:34:31but it's Guysa Maida just seizes on the opportunity, drives forward his pace, terrorises defences,
00:34:37nudges it across to Engels, can drive forward, have a shot, he takes a shot, and Buckland made a chance!
00:34:43Oh, and the ball bundles back into the arms of the Rangers goalkeeper, a nervy start for Jack Butland,
00:34:50good to see it, and Engels just taking that shot on.
00:34:53Yeah, you see Dyson Maida looking for that mistake, as I said, when Rangers try to play short, they don't
00:34:57look as good,
00:34:58all of a sudden Engels gets it up, Negan's made a good angle, but the ball's moved in there and
00:35:02Butland does well to get it away.
00:35:04To be perfectly honest, Richie, I'm not sure when it comes back to Dyson Maida if the spin was still
00:35:08on the ball,
00:35:09which made it difficult for him, so I'm going to give him that excuse.
00:35:15A promising start for Celtic, has been talking about obviously the return of Alistair Johnson in Dyson Maida's form,
00:35:23but I have to say, having Arnie Engels back in the start of 11, I think, has made a difference
00:35:26as well.
00:35:27I agree, I agree, I'm a big Engels fan, as you know, I know maybe he's not at his best
00:35:31like everyone else this season,
00:35:33not been at their best, but I still think he's an important player.
00:35:37And McCown looking for the foul, nothing given, and suddenly it's Rangers on the attack, two against two,
00:35:41it's Moor, drives off to the left-hand side, Cermiti peels to the right, the ball nudged across to Cermiti,
00:35:47and he takes the shot, and it goes wide at the right-hand post.
00:35:50He's already got four goals against Celtic this season, came close to goal number five,
00:35:55it's Rangers hitting on the break.
00:35:57It's a massive chance, actually, and it's not far away.
00:36:00To be fair, Salo's got it covered, but I was surprised that the two centre-backs crossed over, actually.
00:36:06That's one thing you don't usually do when you're doing all your training drills,
00:36:10you tell the two centre-backs not to cross over.
00:36:13They did that and they nearly got caught out with it.
00:36:19Diamandis penalised for the foul on Callum McGregor.
00:36:23Celtic had committed plenty of men forward in that attack,
00:36:25and suddenly they were hit on the break, but thankfully nothing came of it.
00:36:29Yeah, it was, but as I say, it was interesting because we talked about Diamandis giving the ball away,
00:36:34Celtic all of a sudden were on the top of the game because he was out of position.
00:36:38So hopefully we can exploit that, as I said earlier,
00:36:41if he keeps following Callum the way he does, he's leaving a big gap in there.
00:36:46Celtic pressing the ball.
00:36:48Good play there from Arley Angles.
00:36:52He just adds to that press that Dijon Maeda leads.
00:36:55Yes, most definitely, Paul, and I think he's seen that, and I think that's what you've got to do to
00:36:58the Rangers.
00:36:59Don't allow Rangers to play forward, they struggle,
00:37:02because they're willing to get that and teach a meet in that, as I said.
00:37:05Ball goes over to the far side, Johnson gets it ahead of Newer.
00:37:10Gives it back to McCown, rolls it across to us, Engles, he dummies it.
00:37:14Well, Rangers were first to react there, proper play there from Engles.
00:37:19Good to see McCown taking no time at all and delivering it into the box.
00:37:22Yeah, and listen, Arley Angles does brilliant, Dijon Maeda's just caught on his heels.
00:37:26That's what I'm talking about, being that natural striker, you're looking for that step over,
00:37:28Arley Angles does great, but unfortunately Dijon was caught on his heels.
00:37:32Negrient, ball bounces back to McGregor on that left-hand side.
00:37:37Nice to nudge it across the scales.
00:37:40Knocks it forward to Yang, immediately closed down by Diamande.
00:37:43McGregor crunches in for that tackle, and Yang slides in.
00:37:49Well, it was good to see the referee, he saw that just for being a 50-50 challenge there,
00:37:53so often he's given his fouls, but no quarter asked for, no quarter given for both sides.
00:37:58Good play from Callum McGregor being held back, surely a foul.
00:38:04Yeah, and you're right there, both Yang and Barron went into it,
00:38:07and to be fair to Barron, he never lay down,
00:38:09and we see that with so many players nowadays, they lie down.
00:38:11So we'll give him credit for that as well.
00:38:18Ball with Tabernier, moves that one forward.
00:38:26Triplani, runs the foul, Angles penalised, Rangers have the free kick.
00:38:31It's been a breathless first six minutes, still goal, the Celtic with a chance that Brooklyn saved,
00:38:36Rangers with a chance that just went wide of the target.
00:38:41And as you're saying it, this one, Celtic don't want the tempo to drop,
00:38:44they want to keep it, so that's why giving Sully free kicks away,
00:38:47you don't want to be doing that.
00:38:48Once you're up there, keep them in there, keep them under pressure,
00:38:51make them give the ball away as often as they possibly can.
00:38:57Tabernier just knocks up one high into there, into the centre circle.
00:39:00Surely a foul on Angles, yeah, Sully fouled by Chermite.
00:39:08Possession back with Celtic, everyone bars on the salo in the Rangers' half,
00:39:12ball rolled out to the left of Tierney, Tierney just takes a touch,
00:39:16plays it into the box, deflection allows it to end up in the arms.
00:39:21Jack Buckland, good combination playing in these early stages between Yang and Tierney.
00:39:24Yeah, he's unfortunate there, Ciarán, because that's exactly what I would do,
00:39:27I'd put in as early as you possibly can.
00:39:30Because you don't want the Rangers' back line to be facing their own goal.
00:39:39I'm not sure if Buckland would have been thankful for that quick free kick,
00:39:43knocked back to him, he just immediately plays it up towards the halfway line.
00:39:48Fernandes, the ball rolled out to the left-hand side to Romand,
00:39:53cuts inside, Johnson penalised for the challenge.
00:40:01Yeah, he just stepped on his ankle, there's a free kick,
00:40:05it was accidental actually, he was just trying to plant his foot.
00:40:09They've just got to be careful now, because that's what Rangers will look at now
00:40:12and think, well, Alistair Jones is just back, he's had a check from the referee,
00:40:16you don't want him booked early, because Moore's one of the better players,
00:40:19and he's very direct, to be fair.
00:40:28Fernandes back to his goalkeeper,
00:40:30Nader chasing the ball, trying to put pressure on Buckland,
00:40:34just slides it across the right-hand side.
00:40:37Tavernier forced off the ball,
00:40:39and Celtic half-position back,
00:40:41the scales,
00:40:43all the way back to Sinasalo,
00:40:45he's being covered,
00:40:47rolls it out to Trusty, nudges it on to Johnson,
00:40:49Johnson down the line towards McCown.
00:40:56McCown dispossessed by Fernandes,
00:40:58and suddenly Cermiti's got a chance to shoot,
00:41:00he gets into the box,
00:41:01takes a toe poke,
00:41:02it's a second chance,
00:41:04and Moore just nudges it in at the near post,
00:41:07well, Celtic didn't clear the lines,
00:41:08the ball breaks to Mikey Moore,
00:41:11and with nine minutes on the clock,
00:41:13it's the visitors who have taken the lead.
00:41:16Yeah, I'm not sure if Luke McCown slips out in the touchline here,
00:41:20obviously it's a little bit damp from the fact that it's been showered,
00:41:23with the guys before the game,
00:41:26the ground staff,
00:41:28but then when he gets in,
00:41:29he turns away from the defender too easily,
00:41:31then he gets a toe poke,
00:41:33just here as Luke McCown slips,
00:41:35as you see,
00:41:35he thinks he's got the free kick,
00:41:37to be fair,
00:41:38I'm not sure it is a free kick,
00:41:39but once he gets in here,
00:41:40he gets too easy by Trusty,
00:41:42then he gets a bit of fortune off Liam Scales here,
00:41:44and it ricochets,
00:41:46as Cinesales go another way,
00:41:48but Trusty's got to move his feet better,
00:41:52and not sell himself so early.
00:41:58And a blow for Celtic,
00:42:00early in the game,
00:42:02and they'll find themselves trailing by a goal to nil,
00:42:06so plenty of time left on the game.
00:42:14Celtic had certainly started the game well,
00:42:16but that's now having to come from behind.
00:42:20Yeah,
00:42:20it was a couple of errors,
00:42:21Paul,
00:42:21and we've seen it,
00:42:22it doesn't matter what level you play,
00:42:23when you make a couple of errors,
00:42:24it's possible you're going to get caught out.
00:42:26The ball played forward towards Maida,
00:42:27Maida plays it low across,
00:42:29and it's Barron who gets there just ahead of Negrin,
00:42:31scrambles the ball clear,
00:42:33over on this near side,
00:42:35Celtic immediately on the front foot,
00:42:36searching for that equaliser.
00:42:38It's definitely the ball I think we should use more often,
00:42:41I know they say Fernandes is quick,
00:42:42but not if he's facing his own goal,
00:42:45and the ball seems to be holding up a little bit,
00:42:47because they see the grass is a little bit wet just now.
00:42:52McGregor wins the header,
00:42:53Negrin challenged,
00:42:54more to the box,
00:42:56he's down looking for the foul,
00:42:57nothing given,
00:42:58Johnson wins the ball back,
00:43:00Phil Johnson nudges it towards Engels,
00:43:03sliding challenge from Romans,
00:43:06two Belgians clashing,
00:43:07Celtic have the throw in,
00:43:09about ten yards from the corner flag.
00:43:13McCown back to Johnson,
00:43:14back to McCown again on his left foot,
00:43:17curls it to the far post,
00:43:18looking for Yang,
00:43:19out of A-Jang,
00:43:20A-Jag's Tavernier goal kick.
00:43:23Yeah, it's not a bad ball in,
00:43:25to be careful,
00:43:25it's the right thing to do,
00:43:26he's got an opportunity to deliver,
00:43:28just a slightly over-hit,
00:43:30but for me it's the right idea.
00:43:43Buckland launches,
00:43:44that's one long forward,
00:43:46looking for Tavernier,
00:43:47he has the furthest man forward for Rangers.
00:43:50on that right touchline.
00:43:54And then just forced back towards the halfway line,
00:43:57Maida trying to put pressure on Ziga,
00:44:00next to all,
00:44:01the visitors have the ball down the right-hand side again,
00:44:03with Ant-Man.
00:44:10Celtic eventually with Tierney right-footed clearance up towards the halfway line,
00:44:15going for a throw-in.
00:44:19Certainly the goal will have settled any nerves that Rangers will have,
00:44:24but it's just important to get back in level terms as quickly as possible.
00:44:27Yeah, most definitely,
00:44:28and I think what you've got to see here as well,
00:44:30the back line have just not got to start dropping off,
00:44:32I've noticed in the last couple of minutes,
00:44:33they've started dropping off a little bit,
00:44:35because Rangers have a little bit of possession.
00:44:38So what you don't want is too far for the guys to go and put pressure on the likes of
00:44:42Butlan,
00:44:42Fernandes and Jigar.
00:44:43And you can't do that as a midfield player if the back line's too deep.
00:44:48Hopefully they'll start getting back to that area,
00:44:52the pitch when you're holding Rangers and allowing the midfield to go
00:44:55and put pressure so they can't play forward.
00:45:01Saminho's got space down that right-hand side,
00:45:04fires it across towards Cermiti.
00:45:06Cermiti tries to chest it beyond,
00:45:08trust it,
00:45:09and he's knocked it back,
00:45:10it's a chance for Moore,
00:45:11and it's blocked
00:45:12and the six-yard box is penalised for handball,
00:45:15Cermiti,
00:45:16but in the end a wonderful block there to deny Mikey Moore,
00:45:19although that wouldn't have counted anyway.
00:45:20I'll tell you what,
00:45:22yes it is a handball,
00:45:23you can see it on his left hand there,
00:45:24I never noticed that at first to be fair.
00:45:26Brilliant by Liam Scales.
00:45:27Brilliant by Liam Scales.
00:45:29You can just see here as the ball comes,
00:45:30then he takes it with his second touches off.
00:45:33But Triste gets lucky,
00:45:35that's twice he's been caught because his body position's not open enough
00:45:37and against Cermiti.
00:45:40He's got to work him,
00:45:41and Cermiti will think he's got the greetings of him at this moment in time,
00:45:44because it's on two occasions,
00:45:45he's done them.
00:45:46And interesting,
00:45:47James Tavenier's defensive qualities are often criticised,
00:45:50but in an attacking sense,
00:45:51he can be dangerous,
00:45:52and he's found himself in space down that right flank.
00:45:55100%.
00:45:55What they're doing is,
00:45:56they're putting Jäger out to right back,
00:45:59really,
00:45:59and one of the midfielders is stepping in
00:46:01to the centre-back position,
00:46:02so it's pushing Yang
00:46:04further back to pitch,
00:46:05and if Yang doesn't go back,
00:46:07you can see him again,
00:46:08he's often wide again,
00:46:10there he goes again.
00:46:11The ball switched to the right-hand side,
00:46:13Tavenier brings it down,
00:46:14he's on the edge of the box,
00:46:15fires it low,
00:46:16it comes off Tierney,
00:46:17breaks to the edge of the area,
00:46:18Baron challenges,
00:46:19breaks out wide,
00:46:21Tavenier,
00:46:21Tavenier crosses it into the box,
00:46:23looking for a Rangers head,
00:46:24trusty head's it clear,
00:46:26knocked on by Negrin,
00:46:29Hernandez gets there ahead of McCown,
00:46:32and Rangers have possession on the halfway line.
00:46:35Yeah, I think Dyson and Luke McCown
00:46:38were obviously waiting on each other there,
00:46:39what you've got is just go and take that responsibility,
00:46:41go and get the ball,
00:46:44no matter if both of you go for it,
00:46:45fine,
00:46:46it's better both you're going
00:46:47than none of you going.
00:46:53Fernandes floats the ball over the top
00:46:54looking for Chimiti again,
00:46:58Scales gets a touch,
00:46:59breaks back to the edge of the area,
00:47:01still the visitors have the ball,
00:47:05Baron can roll it out wide to Tavenier,
00:47:08first time cross,
00:47:10it's blocked,
00:47:11and the first corner of the afternoon
00:47:12goes to the visitors.
00:47:13It's a problem for us with Tavenier
00:47:15at this moment in time
00:47:16because Ant-Lyn's coming inside
00:47:17and what Kieran Tierney's coming
00:47:19all the way with him,
00:47:20I think Kieran can pass him on to Liam Scales
00:47:22because if he does that
00:47:24then he can pick up
00:47:25James Tavenier
00:47:26at this moment in time
00:47:27he's coming in that far,
00:47:28it's allowing Tavenier
00:47:30that opportunity as you said
00:47:31to put crosses in their box
00:47:33far too often.
00:47:35First corner of the afternoon,
00:47:37it's going to be
00:47:38Rollins to take this one,
00:47:40left-footed in swinger,
00:47:41absolutely jam-packed
00:47:43six-yard box,
00:47:45every Celtic player back defending,
00:47:52Normans
00:47:52floats that one to the edge of the six-yard box,
00:47:55that was a header,
00:47:57I think there's been a foul
00:47:58but it was a free header there,
00:47:59I'm not sure if it was Fernandes
00:48:00who'd be disappointed
00:48:02they didn't connect well with that.
00:48:03That's a massive chance actually,
00:48:06I'm not sure if he's given
00:48:07the free kick against Tavenier
00:48:08because he was just facing
00:48:09the Celtic for him holding him,
00:48:11but it wasn't Fernandes,
00:48:12and that is a concern
00:48:13and you give too many set plays.
00:48:15Yang plays the ball through,
00:48:16it's a chance for Maeda!
00:48:18Oh, he's played it wide
00:48:19in the left-hand post,
00:48:21well, Yang did so well
00:48:22to stay on his feet
00:48:23to put the ball through,
00:48:25Maeda had the chance
00:48:26for the equaliser,
00:48:27but it goes wide
00:48:29of Jack Buckland's left-hand post.
00:48:30Well, Yang does brilliant,
00:48:33oh, he's got to hit the target,
00:48:34he can't miss it with that much.
00:48:39He's got to score,
00:48:40it's a massive chance,
00:48:42massive opportunity,
00:48:44it would have been interesting
00:48:44to see if it would have brought it back
00:48:45for the push,
00:48:46but he's still got to put the ball
00:48:48in the back of the net
00:48:48and give the referee the problem.
00:48:51A chance for Celtic,
00:48:53but still the trail by a goal to nil.
00:48:57The ball flipped over,
00:48:59McGregor picked up the last ball,
00:49:01gets it to Tierney,
00:49:02right on the left-hand side,
00:49:03that is captain.
00:49:09Tierney knocks it into the middle
00:49:11looking for Engels,
00:49:12he tries to head it on
00:49:12towards Negrin,
00:49:13but it's put back
00:49:15into the same area.
00:49:16Engels challenge again,
00:49:18he's locked in the back
00:49:19by Diamonde,
00:49:20foul to Celtic,
00:49:21taken quickly,
00:49:23Yang tries to get beyond Tamanir,
00:49:25and the ball comes off
00:49:26the Celtic player last,
00:49:27and the three says,
00:49:28throw in two Rangers.
00:49:31Well, it's been a frantic start,
00:49:33as I say,
00:49:33Celtic have just got to get
00:49:34a little bit of grip it
00:49:35again,
00:49:35so get close.
00:49:36Don't start backing off,
00:49:38they started the game
00:49:38ever so well,
00:49:39we've been putting Rangers
00:49:40under pressure,
00:49:41now we're allowing it too easy,
00:49:42they're getting too much time,
00:49:43as I say,
00:49:44it's given them an opportunity
00:49:45to pick the likes of Tamanir
00:49:46out on the right-hand side,
00:49:48who's delivering
00:49:49fantastic crosses,
00:49:50to be fair to them.
00:49:54this time,
00:49:55the Rangers captain
00:49:55just hoists the ball
00:49:56into the centre circle,
00:49:58it's met with the head
00:49:58of Austin Trusty,
00:49:59Luke McCown knocks
00:50:00Atman on,
00:50:03and once more,
00:50:04Tamanir stabs it through,
00:50:05only finds the Celtic captain,
00:50:06it's a chance for Negrin,
00:50:07Negrin across to McCown,
00:50:09the ball taken off his toes,
00:50:12and it's Rangers,
00:50:12well, they don't quite clear
00:50:13the lines,
00:50:14and Romans
00:50:15turns it out to Diamandé,
00:50:17he's under pressure
00:50:17from Ingles,
00:50:18McGregor blocks
00:50:19the forward ball
00:50:21from Tricolani,
00:50:22the Rangers have
00:50:23the throw-in.
00:50:34Romans on the ball,
00:50:37for,
00:50:38Chamiti's probably
00:50:39the target man,
00:50:41the Portuguese player
00:50:42knocks it on,
00:50:43Scales wins the header,
00:50:44McCown tries to knock
00:50:45Atman on,
00:50:46and Romans
00:50:48shepherds it out,
00:50:49and they just have
00:50:49another throw-in
00:50:51further down
00:50:52the left touchline.
00:50:53You think Trusty would learn,
00:50:54but if he's playing
00:50:55against Chamiti,
00:50:56he should give himself
00:50:57a couple of yards
00:50:57and have a run
00:50:58and a jump,
00:50:58at this moment
00:50:59trying to strike out
00:51:00jump him,
00:51:00and too many times
00:51:02Chamiti's beaten him
00:51:03in the air,
00:51:03so you learn that,
00:51:04you learn,
00:51:05OK, the first one I've lost,
00:51:06now I've got to adjust
00:51:07my position here.
00:51:08Well, Chamiti
00:51:09is going to be booked
00:51:10for that late challenge
00:51:11in Army Engles.
00:51:17I don't think he can have
00:51:18any complaints on that one,
00:51:20it was a late challenge
00:51:21by the Rangers strike-up
00:51:22for yellow card
00:51:23of the afternoon.
00:51:31He's back up on his feet,
00:51:33Celtic have the free-kick,
00:51:34Engles on the ball.
00:51:36He's got to look
00:51:37McHale out wide
00:51:38on the right-hand side
00:51:40to the Celtic captain.
00:51:45Oh, there's a Rangers player down.
00:51:49Look at the show.
00:51:53Chukwani's going down,
00:51:53the referee has given a foul,
00:51:55but look at the show.
00:51:56We'll have to see the replay
00:51:57to see what would happen.
00:52:00I don't know what
00:52:01Arlene Engles
00:52:01is supposed to do there
00:52:02because it's Chukwani,
00:52:04Arlene Engles running forward
00:52:05and Chukwani just walks
00:52:06right in front of him.
00:52:07I don't think there's
00:52:08a free-kick,
00:52:09I think maybe the referee
00:52:10just got it at the last moment.
00:52:12Unless he got the shout
00:52:13from the assistant referee.
00:52:14Yeah, but it's never
00:52:15a free-kick.
00:52:18But that is the decision
00:52:20and Jack Buckland
00:52:21will launch this one
00:52:22long, deep into Celtic territory.
00:52:24Looking for Cermiti again.
00:52:27Comes off Trusty's head.
00:52:28Johnson knocks it
00:52:29across the edge of the...
00:52:31over there.
00:52:32Trusty manages to get it
00:52:33forward towards McKown.
00:52:42That's what we don't want
00:52:43to do.
00:52:44We don't want to,
00:52:44as I said before,
00:52:45we don't want to be
00:52:46giving silly set plays away.
00:52:48Rangers are very dominant
00:52:49in the air,
00:52:50so we have to make sure
00:52:52you can keep the ball
00:52:53in play,
00:52:54on the ground,
00:52:55and don't give
00:52:55silly set plays away.
00:53:01The ball back with Jigert.
00:53:04Rows it out
00:53:05to the right-hand side.
00:53:07Ant-Man knocks it
00:53:08into the middle,
00:53:09it's knocked forward,
00:53:09Scales picks it up,
00:53:11gives it to Yang.
00:53:12He's immediately challenged
00:53:13and the ball taken off
00:53:14his toes with the sneak
00:53:14and on this left-hand side.
00:53:15He cuts in past two
00:53:16Rangers players,
00:53:17knocks it towards Yang,
00:53:19Yang to Engels,
00:53:20rolls it across to Johnson,
00:53:21Johnson inside right-channel,
00:53:22rolls it out wide to McCown,
00:53:23with McCown edge of the box,
00:53:25tries to thread it through
00:53:25towards Johnson,
00:53:26gets the break of the ball.
00:53:28Now to McGregor,
00:53:29thought about the shot,
00:53:30said,
00:53:30rolls it to Tierney,
00:53:31Tierney,
00:53:32clips it into the six-yard box.
00:53:36Negrin couldn't connect with it,
00:53:37it goes wide,
00:53:38goal kick,
00:53:39danger averted.
00:53:40Yeah,
00:53:40I'm not sure if there's enough
00:53:41pace on the ball
00:53:42the way Kieran's lifted,
00:53:43but if there is,
00:53:45on the angle,
00:53:46you would think,
00:53:47he hits it off his own shoulder,
00:53:48that's what he does.
00:53:49Sorry,
00:53:50Negrin,
00:53:50yeah,
00:53:51plays it off his own shoulder there.
00:53:53Half a chance,
00:53:54I was expecting Kieran to fire the ball across,
00:53:56but he's picked out,
00:53:57Negrin as you say.
00:54:03Scales wins the header,
00:54:04Barron picks up the ball,
00:54:06rolls it out wide to his captain,
00:54:07immediately knocks up and forward,
00:54:09but Tierney picks the ball up,
00:54:11Yang inside now to McGregor.
00:54:14Now to Engels,
00:54:15across to Tristan,
00:54:16suddenly Celtic have space down the right-hand side,
00:54:18and Tristan's been ushered on,
00:54:20he's got Johnson,
00:54:21he's got McCown,
00:54:21McCown can roll it on to Johnson,
00:54:23on to his left foot,
00:54:25plays it through towards,
00:54:26Engels cuts it back,
00:54:27it's a chance,
00:54:28it's a goal!
00:54:30Celtic have equalised!
00:54:31Wonderful football!
00:54:33And Yang gets the touch,
00:54:35his tenth goal of the season,
00:54:36and with 22 minutes on the clock,
00:54:38paradise erupts,
00:54:40it's one apiece.
00:54:41Oh,
00:54:41it's a brilliant ball
00:54:43for Luke McCown,
00:54:44he's not started the game
00:54:45particularly well,
00:54:46and all of a sudden
00:54:47he's picked it,
00:54:48a brilliant pass here
00:54:50to Alistair Johnson!
00:54:52No,
00:54:53it's not as hard as the angle,
00:54:54sorry!
00:54:56Go Celtic!
00:54:57The scoreboard!
00:54:58I don't think they can,
00:55:00they're ever looking at,
00:55:00Buckland was looking
00:55:01for the goalkeeper
00:55:03being blinded here,
00:55:04but,
00:55:05he's saying that Celtic players
00:55:06were in front of him,
00:55:08I think,
00:55:10I don't think he can,
00:55:12but I don't think
00:55:13he can say that,
00:55:14because they were never
00:55:15interfering with him.
00:55:19Well,
00:55:20VAR must be checking this
00:55:21because the referee
00:55:22has called the two captains
00:55:23over,
00:55:24it's certainly
00:55:24a wonderful bit of football,
00:55:27well that would be
00:55:28a controversial decision
00:55:29of the VAR referee,
00:55:30John Beaton decides
00:55:31to flag up one
00:55:32for offside.
00:55:33I would like to see it
00:55:34again here.
00:55:38in front of the goalie.
00:55:45Well,
00:55:45it's whether
00:55:46they decide that
00:55:47Negrin
00:55:48is interfering
00:55:49with the vision
00:55:50of Jack Buckland,
00:55:51really.
00:55:53I don't think
00:55:54it makes any difference
00:55:55to me.
00:55:55It's not even
00:55:56in that area
00:55:56of the pitch,
00:55:57and I think
00:55:58if they call this one off,
00:56:00yes!
00:56:01There goes a goal!
00:56:12An important moment
00:56:13for Celtic,
00:56:16and Yang,
00:56:17well he started
00:56:17the game well,
00:56:18and he gets his goal.
00:56:22Yeah,
00:56:22and great credit
00:56:23to Luke McCown,
00:56:23as I say,
00:56:24he hadn't started
00:56:25the game particularly well,
00:56:26he'd fallen over
00:56:26a couple of times,
00:56:27but he's picked
00:56:27a lovely pass
00:56:29to Arne Engels,
00:56:30and it's shoved
00:56:32it across,
00:56:32and Yang,
00:56:34does what he's been
00:56:34doing all season
00:56:35to be fair,
00:56:36I'm getting in
00:56:36at the back post
00:56:37and getting his goal.
00:56:41Well,
00:56:42the decision was
00:56:43obviously whether
00:56:44Negrin's position
00:56:45would have interfered
00:56:46in the ultimate
00:56:47outcome of the shot,
00:56:48which is obviously
00:56:49no, so...
00:56:50No, it is,
00:56:51because Jack Buckland's
00:56:51at the front post
00:56:53when the ball's
00:56:54in the centre
00:56:54of the goal.
00:56:57He's diving back
00:56:58across the line
00:56:59of Negrin
00:56:59to be perfectly
00:57:00as the opposite
00:57:01way round about.
00:57:05Celtic got back
00:57:06in level terms,
00:57:0720 minutes
00:57:08of the first half
00:57:09remaining,
00:57:09and it's
00:57:10one apiece.
00:57:18Well,
00:57:19this is where you want
00:57:24Celtic to really build
00:57:25on this goal now
00:57:26and take the game
00:57:26to Rangers.
00:57:28We just look a better
00:57:29team, Paul,
00:57:29when we play closer
00:57:30to the opposition.
00:57:31I think we dropped
00:57:32off for five,
00:57:34ten minute period
00:57:34there and Rangers
00:57:35were dominating
00:57:36and then all of a sudden,
00:57:37as you say,
00:57:37Tavernier was getting
00:57:38free.
00:57:39We had to sort that out.
00:57:40Now we're getting
00:57:41closer in the middle
00:57:42of the field.
00:57:42There's Callum
00:57:43picked another one
00:57:43up again.
00:57:45It's a chance
00:57:45for Maeda
00:57:47but it's hooked
00:57:48clear only
00:57:48as far as Engels
00:57:49rolls it back
00:57:49towards Johnson.
00:57:50It's Rangers
00:57:51to pick up the list
00:57:52ball.
00:57:53Diamandie
00:57:53back to Romans.
00:57:58It's the Kalani
00:57:59under pressure
00:58:00from Engels.
00:58:01Not ball,
00:58:02not forward
00:58:03and certainly Diamandie
00:58:04rolls it across
00:58:05to the right-hand
00:58:06side towards Antman
00:58:07and it's over
00:58:08Hap
00:58:08and out for
00:58:09the pro line.
00:58:11Celtic keen
00:58:12to take that one
00:58:12quickly.
00:58:13Ciaran Tierney
00:58:14has been fast,
00:58:15it has been
00:58:16frantic
00:58:17and thankfully
00:58:18Celtic have got
00:58:18back in level
00:58:19terms,
00:58:20Yang
00:58:20and his tenth
00:58:21goal of the season.
00:58:23Just got to get
00:58:24that balance right
00:58:25because the Rangers
00:58:26do get that switch
00:58:27and they seem to have
00:58:27a hell of a lot
00:58:28of space in that
00:58:29right-hand side,
00:58:29their right-hand
00:58:30side, sorry,
00:58:32because
00:58:32Yang is all
00:58:33of a sudden
00:58:33helping
00:58:34and Ciaran's
00:58:35going in too far.
00:58:36I think Liam
00:58:37Skills has got,
00:58:38instead of worrying
00:58:38about
00:58:40Chermite,
00:58:42Austen Trusty's
00:58:42got to deal
00:58:43with him.
00:58:45Bromans
00:58:46dispossesses
00:58:47McCown
00:58:47driving forward,
00:58:48he's got
00:58:48Mikey Moore
00:58:49on the left-hand
00:58:49side,
00:58:49rolls it forward
00:58:50to the Rangers
00:58:51goalscorer,
00:58:51he plays it
00:58:51across,
00:58:52it's sliced
00:58:53behind by
00:58:54Liam Skills,
00:58:55good defender
00:58:56from the Irishman
00:58:56again as
00:58:57Chermite
00:58:58looked to
00:58:58pounce but
00:58:59on the break
00:58:59again,
00:59:00Rangers look
00:59:01dangerous.
00:59:01Yeah,
00:59:02two bad
00:59:02mistakes here,
00:59:03Alistair Johnson
00:59:04goes in an overlap
00:59:05when Celtic have
00:59:05never got good
00:59:06possession,
00:59:07so the difference
00:59:08is you look at
00:59:10it and you think
00:59:10to yourself,
00:59:12Alistair you've
00:59:12got to hold
00:59:12your position
00:59:13behind that,
00:59:14then the second
00:59:14bad decision
00:59:15was,
00:59:16again Trusty
00:59:17steps up,
00:59:18he's got to
00:59:19hold his
00:59:19position.
00:59:23Now you've
00:59:23ended up
00:59:24giving another
00:59:24set play
00:59:24but Rangers
00:59:25are desperate
00:59:25to get,
00:59:26this will
00:59:26have things
00:59:27that I'm
00:59:27sure Danny
00:59:28Rolls will
00:59:28be speaking
00:59:28to them
00:59:29all week
00:59:29about,
00:59:29it's an
00:59:30opportunity.
00:59:32A second
00:59:33corner of the
00:59:34game for the
00:59:34visitors,
00:59:35once more
00:59:36Romans will
00:59:36take this,
00:59:37a left-footed
00:59:38in-swinger
00:59:39into a
00:59:39packed six-yard
00:59:40box,
00:59:41he steps
00:59:42forward,
00:59:43fires it across,
00:59:44looking for the
00:59:44Avengers head,
00:59:44it's not clear,
00:59:45and it's
00:59:45Callum McGregor
00:59:46and he heads it
00:59:47out to the edge
00:59:47of the box,
00:59:48Moore wins that
00:59:49head up,
00:59:50he's got his
00:59:50claws down and
00:59:51suddenly Celtic on
00:59:52the attack with
00:59:52Negrin,
00:59:53he's got Yang on
00:59:53the left-hand side,
00:59:54Maeda,
00:59:55McCown,
00:59:56Negrin,
00:59:58rolls it through,
00:59:59it's a chance
00:59:59for McCown,
01:00:00and the ball
01:00:00taken off his
01:00:01toes.
01:00:03We have to
01:00:03say,
01:00:04Dyson Maeda
01:00:05was pointing
01:00:05to Negrin
01:00:06to play it
01:00:06to Yang
01:00:06about ten
01:00:07minutes before
01:00:07he should've.
01:00:08Yeah,
01:00:09I thought he
01:00:09should've,
01:00:10I thought he's
01:00:10got to open
01:00:11out and go
01:00:11the opposite
01:00:11way,
01:00:12I can
01:00:12understand
01:00:13the way
01:00:13you're facing
01:00:13it's on
01:00:14your stronger
01:00:14foot,
01:00:15it's an
01:00:15opportunity
01:00:16and then
01:00:16there's not
01:00:16enough pace
01:00:17on the
01:00:17ball.
01:00:19I've got a
01:00:19bit of
01:00:19sympathy with
01:00:20McCown
01:00:20there,
01:00:21as I
01:00:21said to
01:00:21I think
01:00:21the ball's
01:00:22hold,
01:00:22not a
01:00:22little bit
01:00:23because
01:00:23the grass
01:00:24is still
01:00:24wet.
01:00:26You can
01:00:27see Maeda
01:00:27behind
01:00:27Boyd and
01:00:28I agree,
01:00:29I agree.
01:00:30That was a
01:00:31real chance
01:00:31on the
01:00:32break,
01:00:33the Celtic.
01:00:34It's a
01:00:35massive
01:00:35opportunity.
01:00:39You see,
01:00:39these games
01:00:40are about
01:00:40decision-making,
01:00:41that's what
01:00:41you've got
01:00:41to do.
01:00:44Ball floating
01:00:45forward,
01:00:45looking for
01:00:45Moor,
01:00:46goes over
01:00:46Christie's
01:00:47head,
01:00:47but it
01:00:47should be
01:00:48safely
01:00:49gathered by
01:00:50Sinisalo.
01:00:55I think
01:00:56Austin
01:00:56Trusty's
01:00:57positional
01:00:57play has
01:00:58not been
01:00:58very good
01:00:58in this
01:00:59first period.
01:01:00He's got
01:01:00to adjust
01:01:00his body
01:01:01and drop
01:01:02off when
01:01:03players are
01:01:03lifting their
01:01:03head to
01:01:03play a
01:01:04forward
01:01:04pass.
01:01:04Too many
01:01:05times the
01:01:05ball's
01:01:05gone over
01:01:06his head,
01:01:06he's not
01:01:06getting his
01:01:07timing right
01:01:07in his
01:01:07head,
01:01:08and he's
01:01:08going to
01:01:08be caught
01:01:09out.
01:01:10Yang does
01:01:10well,
01:01:11Tierney
01:01:11had actually
01:01:11got an
01:01:12overlap,
01:01:12looking for
01:01:12the
01:01:13forward
01:01:13pass,
01:01:13but Celtic
01:01:14still in
01:01:14possession.
01:01:17Good
01:01:17first
01:01:18one-touch
01:01:19play,
01:01:19Trusty just
01:01:20rolls it
01:01:20out wide
01:01:21to Johnson,
01:01:21Johnson just
01:01:22takes a
01:01:22touch,
01:01:22he's on
01:01:23the edge
01:01:23of the
01:01:23box,
01:01:23gives it
01:01:24to
01:01:24McCown.
01:01:26McCown
01:01:26back to
01:01:27Trusty,
01:01:28rolls it
01:01:28across to
01:01:29Scales,
01:01:30out wide
01:01:32to the
01:01:33goal scorer,
01:01:34he just
01:01:34floats it
01:01:35into the
01:01:35box,
01:01:36it's the
01:01:36far post,
01:01:36it's headed
01:01:37back out
01:01:37by Rollins,
01:01:39Negrin
01:01:39takes a
01:01:40shot,
01:01:40blocked by
01:01:41Barron,
01:01:42uncomfortably
01:01:42gallowed by
01:01:43Jack
01:01:43Butland,
01:01:44almost at
01:01:45the half-hour
01:01:45mark,
01:01:46still one
01:01:46apiece,
01:01:46it has
01:01:47been end-to-end
01:01:48stuff.
01:01:49It has,
01:01:50it's been
01:01:50frantic,
01:01:51Celtic have
01:01:51done great
01:01:51to get back
01:01:52in because
01:01:52it was at
01:01:52a time,
01:01:53as I said,
01:01:53I thought
01:01:53Rangers were
01:01:54finding that
01:01:55space with
01:01:56Tavernier on
01:01:56the opposite
01:01:56side,
01:01:57we just have
01:01:58to calm
01:01:58down a
01:01:58little bit
01:01:59in our
01:01:59own final
01:01:59third,
01:02:00we don't
01:02:00want to be
01:02:00given as
01:02:01many corners
01:02:01and three
01:02:03kicks away
01:02:04in our
01:02:04own half.
01:02:06Certainly
01:02:07Rangers have
01:02:07a bit of
01:02:08space on
01:02:08this left-hand
01:02:09side,
01:02:11it's worked
01:02:11out way to
01:02:12Romans,
01:02:13tries to
01:02:14nudge it
01:02:14through,
01:02:14Miller had
01:02:15checked his
01:02:15run and
01:02:16Scales can
01:02:16gather that
01:02:17one,
01:02:18just rolls it
01:02:18back to his
01:02:19goalkeeper,
01:02:20he just
01:02:21knocked it
01:02:21up towards
01:02:22the halfway
01:02:22lane but
01:02:23it's
01:02:23Fernandes
01:02:24has got
01:02:24time to
01:02:24chest that
01:02:25down,
01:02:25knocked it
01:02:26into the
01:02:27middle of
01:02:27the park,
01:02:28tipped up
01:02:28by
01:02:29McGregor,
01:02:30Negrin
01:02:30fouled.
01:02:37Arne
01:02:37Engels
01:02:37have started
01:02:38the game
01:02:38well,
01:02:39I think
01:02:39when he's
01:02:39in possession
01:02:40of the
01:02:40ball,
01:02:40his forward
01:02:41passing has
01:02:42been excellent
01:02:42so far,
01:02:43he's just
01:02:44got to get
01:02:44him in that
01:02:44position more
01:02:45often when
01:02:45he's looking
01:02:46forward,
01:02:47he looks a
01:02:47much better
01:02:48player when
01:02:48he plays
01:02:49off his
01:02:49first pass
01:02:50because he
01:02:50sees the
01:02:50pictures a
01:02:51lot brighter
01:02:52and a lot
01:02:53quicker than
01:02:53most players.
01:02:57Half an hour
01:02:58has gone in
01:02:59the blink of
01:02:59an eye,
01:03:00one apiece
01:03:01and only making
01:03:02their goal
01:03:03cancelled out
01:03:03by Yank,
01:03:05Celtic penalise
01:03:06for the foul.
01:03:10There's
01:03:11that,
01:03:11and
01:03:11it was
01:03:12Negrin
01:03:12pulls him
01:03:13back.
01:03:18the Celtic
01:03:19midfield
01:03:19have just
01:03:20got to be
01:03:20careful,
01:03:21they don't
01:03:21go too
01:03:21narrow
01:03:21because it's
01:03:23very much
01:03:23leaving
01:03:24Rangers a
01:03:25lot of
01:03:25space in
01:03:26the wide
01:03:26areas.
01:03:29McGregor
01:03:30plays that
01:03:30one over
01:03:30the top
01:03:31looking for
01:03:31the pace of
01:03:31Yank,
01:03:32Tavriot got
01:03:33their first
01:03:34goalkeeper
01:03:34who takes
01:03:34no chances
01:03:35to get up
01:03:36towards the
01:03:37halfway line,
01:03:37Tavriot is
01:03:38first to react
01:03:38but it's
01:03:39the visitors
01:03:40who roll
01:03:41the ball to
01:03:42the left
01:03:42and suddenly
01:03:42warm into
01:03:43space on
01:03:43that left
01:03:44hand side,
01:03:44he's got
01:03:44more ahead
01:03:45of him.
01:03:55his first
01:03:56touch isn't
01:03:57a great
01:03:57one,
01:03:58Karl
01:03:58McGregor
01:04:00loses out,
01:04:01trusty
01:04:01filled,
01:04:02there's two
01:04:02fills there,
01:04:03the referee
01:04:03wins the
01:04:04ball back
01:04:04in the
01:04:05middle of
01:04:05the
01:04:05park,
01:04:06again just
01:04:07slightly
01:04:07fortuitous
01:04:07here because
01:04:08Barron's
01:04:08first touch
01:04:08almost gave
01:04:09Celtic
01:04:09possession,
01:04:12Johnson.
01:04:15Oh,
01:04:15just a
01:04:16look forward
01:04:17there,
01:04:17he just
01:04:17plays it
01:04:17in this
01:04:18pace,
01:04:19Alistair
01:04:19Johnson
01:04:19was clear.
01:04:31Trusty
01:04:31on the
01:04:32ball,
01:04:33central
01:04:34defensive
01:04:34partner,
01:04:35Tierney
01:04:35immediately
01:04:35peels off
01:04:36to the
01:04:36left,
01:04:37Yang's
01:04:37ahead of
01:04:38him,
01:04:38that way
01:04:39he tracks
01:04:39the
01:04:40line of
01:04:40Tierney.
01:04:47space and
01:04:48centre
01:04:48circle
01:04:49again,
01:04:49Charmiti
01:04:49races across
01:04:50to try
01:04:51and cover
01:04:51him,
01:04:53McCown
01:04:53once more
01:04:54on the
01:04:54right-hand
01:04:54side,
01:04:56has to
01:04:56knock that
01:04:57one back,
01:04:58Celtic still
01:04:59keeping
01:04:59possession,
01:05:00still probing,
01:05:02looking for
01:05:02an opening,
01:05:04Scales
01:05:05goes forward,
01:05:06clicks that one,
01:05:07gets intercepted,
01:05:09and
01:05:11Chukwani has the
01:05:12ball,
01:05:1325 yards from
01:05:14his own goal,
01:05:15Naida chasing that
01:05:16ball across the 18-yard line,
01:05:18still the visitors in
01:05:19possession,
01:05:19Mikey Moore,
01:05:21two men round him,
01:05:22challenged by
01:05:22Johnson,
01:05:23wins the throw,
01:05:24and good play,
01:05:26trying to look to
01:05:27take it quickly.
01:05:29Just a couple of
01:05:29passes back,
01:05:30Paul,
01:05:30we've just got to be
01:05:31careful,
01:05:31we left Austin
01:05:32Trusty all on his
01:05:33own with
01:05:33Charmiti who
01:05:34just peeled off
01:05:35him,
01:05:35and thankfully
01:05:36Chukwani just
01:05:37passed the ball
01:05:37square instead of
01:05:38going forward
01:05:38because it was a
01:05:391v1 situation,
01:05:40and I wouldn't have
01:05:41fancied Austin
01:05:42Trusty.
01:05:44Fernandes
01:05:44did well there
01:05:45and plays it
01:05:45forward,
01:05:46and Tierney gets
01:05:46in ahead of
01:05:47Charmiti.
01:05:48They had to,
01:05:52a throw-in
01:05:53deep in
01:05:54Celtic territory.
01:06:01Every goal
01:06:02crucial in
01:06:03these fixtures
01:06:03of Celtic
01:06:04can just get
01:06:04their noses
01:06:05in front,
01:06:06but they do
01:06:07have to stay
01:06:07tight at the
01:06:08back because
01:06:08Rangers have
01:06:09shown themselves
01:06:10to be dangerous
01:06:11on the break,
01:06:12there's going to
01:06:12be a tavernier
01:06:13throw-in,
01:06:14and they've
01:06:14pushed all
01:06:14the big men
01:06:15from the back
01:06:16into the
01:06:17penaltier,
01:06:18so a set-piece
01:06:19throw-in
01:06:20set-piece
01:06:20for Celtic
01:06:21to defend.
01:06:22Tavernier
01:06:23launches this
01:06:23one into
01:06:24the six-yard
01:06:24box,
01:06:25scales rises
01:06:26highest,
01:06:27good play,
01:06:29it's knocked
01:06:30back into
01:06:30the area,
01:06:32Charmiti,
01:06:34as Celtic
01:06:34players trying
01:06:36to avoid the
01:06:36challenge,
01:06:37the ball played
01:06:37across the six-yard
01:06:38box,
01:06:38it's headed
01:06:39clear by
01:06:40Trusty and
01:06:41knocked away
01:06:41by Negrin,
01:06:44there's a
01:06:44Rangers player
01:06:45that's still
01:06:45down inside
01:06:46the area,
01:06:46looks like
01:06:47Diamande,
01:06:48I think both
01:06:48him and
01:06:48Yang landed
01:06:50on top of
01:06:51each other.
01:06:58Yeah,
01:06:59I think the
01:06:59two players
01:06:59have just
01:07:00went for the
01:07:00ball,
01:07:01there was
01:07:01nothing in
01:07:01that,
01:07:02to be fair
01:07:03it was a
01:07:03brilliant header
01:07:04from Liam
01:07:04Scales,
01:07:05the first
01:07:05ball in,
01:07:06because it's
01:07:07something we
01:07:07have to be
01:07:08very much
01:07:08aware of,
01:07:08as I said
01:07:09earlier,
01:07:10because you've
01:07:10got Tavernier
01:07:11with the
01:07:11long throw
01:07:11and you've
01:07:12also got
01:07:13the set
01:07:14plays.
01:07:16Well,
01:07:17position slightly
01:07:18shaded,
01:07:19negligibly by
01:07:20the visitors,
01:07:21but both
01:07:22sides have
01:07:23had chances,
01:07:24of course,
01:07:24both sides
01:07:25have a goal
01:07:25apiece.
01:07:33The ball
01:07:34breaks,
01:07:35a two to
01:07:35straight towards
01:07:36Diamande,
01:07:36rolls it
01:07:37across to
01:07:37his captain
01:07:37over the
01:07:38halfway line
01:07:38down the
01:07:39right-hand
01:07:39side,
01:07:40suddenly
01:07:40there's
01:07:40blue shots
01:07:41on the
01:07:41attack,
01:07:42well rolled
01:07:42out towards
01:07:43Antman,
01:07:43it's a poor
01:07:44pass forward
01:07:44and Tierney
01:07:45slides in
01:07:46there and
01:07:46clears it
01:07:47ahead of
01:07:47the finish
01:07:47winger.
01:07:48It's just
01:07:49a pity,
01:07:49he can't
01:07:49clear it
01:07:50further up
01:07:50the pitch
01:07:51because yet
01:07:51again,
01:07:52it gives
01:07:52him an
01:07:53opportunity,
01:07:53Tavernier's
01:07:54throws like
01:07:54a corner
01:07:55kick for
01:07:55him in
01:07:55that area
01:07:56of the
01:07:56pitch,
01:07:57but yet
01:07:57again,
01:07:59we're
01:07:59coming too
01:08:01far
01:08:01together,
01:08:02all the
01:08:02midfields
01:08:03come over
01:08:03one side,
01:08:03which is
01:08:04Leeson,
01:08:04allowing
01:08:04Rangers
01:08:05to get
01:08:05that one
01:08:06pass,
01:08:06just takes
01:08:07everybody out
01:08:07the game.
01:08:08Another
01:08:08long throw
01:08:09in from
01:08:09the Rangers
01:08:09captain,
01:08:10once more
01:08:11Viga and
01:08:12Fernandes
01:08:12from the
01:08:13back have
01:08:13pushed
01:08:13forward,
01:08:14they've all
01:08:14launched
01:08:14the edge
01:08:15of the
01:08:15six-yard
01:08:15box,
01:08:16it's
01:08:16Negrin's
01:08:16head,
01:08:18Johnson
01:08:19has to
01:08:20knock that
01:08:20behind,
01:08:21and it's
01:08:22a third
01:08:22corner for
01:08:23Rangers.
01:08:29This time
01:08:30it will be
01:08:30Tavernier
01:08:31to come
01:08:31over to
01:08:31this near
01:08:32side
01:08:33to take
01:08:34the end
01:08:34swinger
01:08:34with his
01:08:34right
01:08:35foot.
01:08:45Celtic
01:08:45once more,
01:08:46every player
01:08:47back
01:08:47defending
01:08:48this.
01:08:50The Rangers
01:08:51players seem
01:08:52to be at
01:08:52the back
01:08:52post at
01:08:53the moment,
01:08:54as the
01:08:54Tavernier
01:08:54steps forward,
01:08:55fires it
01:08:55to the
01:08:56back
01:08:56post,
01:08:57goes all
01:08:57the way
01:08:58out,
01:08:58Granger
01:08:59averted,
01:08:59going to
01:09:00kick
01:09:00Celtic.
01:09:00I don't
01:09:01mind
01:09:01that,
01:09:02because it
01:09:02always is a
01:09:03concern,
01:09:04and the
01:09:05other side
01:09:05of his
01:09:05as well,
01:09:06because we
01:09:06don't leave
01:09:06anyone up,
01:09:07the ball
01:09:08does get
01:09:08cleared,
01:09:08it comes
01:09:09straight back
01:09:09in again,
01:09:10so I
01:09:11know we've
01:09:11spoke about
01:09:11that all
01:09:12season,
01:09:12Paul,
01:09:13it's not my
01:09:14favourite way
01:09:14to do set
01:09:15plays,
01:09:15that's for
01:09:15sure.
01:09:19good play
01:09:20play from
01:09:20Maida,
01:09:22Engel stabs
01:09:23that one
01:09:23forward,
01:09:24Tavernier
01:09:24had to
01:09:25come over
01:09:25from the
01:09:25right-hand
01:09:25side,
01:09:26got there
01:09:27ahead of
01:09:27Yang and
01:09:27McCown.
01:09:40Just over
01:09:40seven minutes
01:09:41of the
01:09:41first half
01:09:42remaining,
01:09:42Celtic in
01:09:44possession,
01:09:44one apiece,
01:09:46making more
01:09:47open the scoring
01:09:47for the
01:09:48visitors,
01:09:48Yang equalised
01:09:49in 22 minutes.
01:09:56Here comes
01:09:57Skous again,
01:09:58he's got
01:09:58Negrin on that
01:09:59left-hand side,
01:10:00Tierney hugging the
01:10:00touchline,
01:10:01Yang's moved
01:10:02inside,
01:10:02Tierney does
01:10:03well,
01:10:04steps past
01:10:04his man,
01:10:06cross block,
01:10:07that was good
01:10:07wing play there
01:10:08from Kieran Tierney.
01:10:08Yeah,
01:10:09but I think
01:10:09he should have
01:10:10got the ball
01:10:10about five
01:10:10minutes earlier
01:10:11because he was
01:10:12free and
01:10:13Antman had
01:10:13switched off
01:10:14and if he put
01:10:15Kieran onto the
01:10:15backline then
01:10:16it gives you
01:10:16an easier
01:10:16ball to put in
01:10:17and it allowed
01:10:17Antman to get
01:10:18back,
01:10:18just feed them
01:10:19quicker and
01:10:20put the
01:10:20ball in.
01:10:22Tierney did that
01:10:23with his right
01:10:23foot but it's
01:10:24been cleared,
01:10:25Celtic trying to
01:10:27block,
01:10:28Diamandig is
01:10:29down,
01:10:29Rangers have
01:10:30the ball,
01:10:31Johnson gets in.
01:10:38Well I think
01:10:39Johnson is
01:10:40incredulous
01:10:40because I
01:10:41think when you
01:10:41see that
01:10:43challenge back
01:10:44Peter,
01:10:44he got the
01:10:45ball and I
01:10:46think the
01:10:47Rangers player
01:10:47made a meal of
01:10:48that,
01:10:48I think that's
01:10:48a terrible
01:10:49yellow card.
01:10:51As I say
01:10:51Paul,
01:10:52I must admit
01:10:52I was watching
01:10:52Diamandig in
01:10:53the middle of
01:10:53the pitch
01:10:53because I
01:10:54didn't think
01:10:54it was a
01:10:54free kick
01:10:55in here,
01:10:55I thought
01:10:55he fell
01:10:56over
01:10:56himself,
01:10:56Liam Scales
01:10:57was going
01:10:58to touch
01:10:58him.
01:11:00No,
01:11:00it's never
01:11:02a yellow
01:11:03card,
01:11:04but that's
01:11:05what I'm
01:11:05saying,
01:11:05these are
01:11:06the small
01:11:07details,
01:11:08now you've
01:11:08got a
01:11:08full back
01:11:09against a
01:11:09winger,
01:11:11sitting on
01:11:12a yellow
01:11:12card,
01:11:12Alistair's
01:11:13got to be
01:11:13careful,
01:11:15but it's
01:11:16never a
01:11:16yellow card,
01:11:17rightfully so,
01:11:18I'm not
01:11:19showing you
01:11:19the green
01:11:19tinted glasses
01:11:20on,
01:11:20we're actually
01:11:20watching it.
01:11:21I know we're
01:11:22not fans of
01:11:22VAR,
01:11:22but surely
01:11:23the VAR
01:11:23referee has
01:11:23to be able
01:11:24to say,
01:11:24you've made
01:11:25a mess of
01:11:25that one,
01:11:26because it
01:11:26has consequences.
01:11:28Yeah,
01:11:28exactly,
01:11:29exactly.
01:11:33butland launches
01:11:34that one
01:11:34long.
01:11:39And bear
01:11:39in mind,
01:11:40Alistair Johnson,
01:11:40that's the first
01:11:41time he's been
01:11:41checked to the
01:11:42referee,
01:11:43and Diamonde's
01:11:44been checked
01:11:44three times,
01:11:44not at the
01:11:45yellow card,
01:11:46so,
01:11:47that's what
01:11:47it's wrong.
01:11:50I think it's
01:11:51also,
01:11:51I don't think
01:11:52players in the
01:11:52modern,
01:11:53I mean,
01:11:53I think
01:11:53Mikey Moore
01:11:54wasn't touched,
01:11:54but rolled
01:11:55about as if
01:11:55he'd been
01:11:55shot in the
01:11:56leg,
01:11:56so.
01:11:56Yeah,
01:11:57exactly,
01:11:57listen,
01:11:57that's why
01:11:58I gave
01:11:59Barron credit
01:12:00earlier for
01:12:00that,
01:12:00because we
01:12:01knew it
01:12:02was a fair
01:12:02enough tackle,
01:12:02even what
01:12:03was a free
01:12:03kick against
01:12:04the Celtic
01:12:05player,
01:12:05but he never
01:12:06laid down to
01:12:06try and get
01:12:07someone booked.
01:12:09ball played
01:12:09over the top,
01:12:10looking for
01:12:10Antman,
01:12:11but Scales
01:12:11will get
01:12:12there first,
01:12:12he just rolls
01:12:13all the way
01:12:13back to his
01:12:14goalkeeper,
01:12:15into the
01:12:15last five
01:12:16minutes of
01:12:18a furious
01:12:19and frantic
01:12:19first half,
01:12:20still one
01:12:20apiece.
01:12:26Johnson
01:12:26left-footed,
01:12:28looking for
01:12:29Maida,
01:12:30it's headed
01:12:30by Ziger,
01:12:31it's picked
01:12:31up by
01:12:32McCown,
01:12:32McCown
01:12:33skips past
01:12:33three challenges,
01:12:34gives it to
01:12:35Maida,
01:12:35the sliding
01:12:36challenge,
01:12:37the ball
01:12:37wobbles,
01:12:38Yang's there,
01:12:38still keeps it
01:12:39in play,
01:12:40Neygrin clips
01:12:41it across,
01:12:41it's headed
01:12:42clear by Ziger,
01:12:43only as far as
01:12:44Yang,
01:12:44edge of the
01:12:45box,
01:12:45Celtic still
01:12:47putting pressure
01:12:47on,
01:12:48McGregor.
01:12:51Yang curls
01:12:52it across,
01:12:52gets straight
01:12:53into the arms,
01:12:55Jack Buckland
01:12:56comfortable in the
01:12:56end from the
01:12:57Rangers goalkeeper,
01:12:58about half a
01:12:58chance for Celtic
01:12:59there.
01:12:59Yeah,
01:12:59it was,
01:13:00I'm not sure
01:13:00it was a good
01:13:01tackle,
01:13:01it's a great
01:13:02ball,
01:13:02Alistair Johnson
01:13:02behind there,
01:13:03I said to you,
01:13:03every time he
01:13:04asked this,
01:13:04these two
01:13:05centre-backs
01:13:06have problem
01:13:06been playing
01:13:06the ball
01:13:07behind him,
01:13:08if he comes
01:13:08up,
01:13:09he does well,
01:13:10I think,
01:13:10Giga,
01:13:10I think it is
01:13:11to get the
01:13:11tackle back
01:13:12in.
01:13:13Tramity up
01:13:14against Trusty,
01:13:17on that
01:13:17left touchline,
01:13:22couldn't really
01:13:23go anywhere but
01:13:23manages to
01:13:24play it back
01:13:25inside,
01:13:27it's now rolled
01:13:27out to the
01:13:28right-hand side
01:13:28to Tavernier,
01:13:29Tavernier,
01:13:30a challenge
01:13:31there,
01:13:32and a free
01:13:33kick right on
01:13:33the edge of the
01:13:34box,
01:13:43dangerous position
01:13:44for the
01:13:45visitors,
01:13:46yeah,
01:13:47it is a free
01:13:47kick,
01:13:47we keep
01:13:48talking about it,
01:13:48don't give
01:13:49silly set plays
01:13:49away,
01:13:55I know it's not
01:13:56Yang's strength,
01:13:57as they say,
01:13:58the defensive side
01:13:58and the respect of
01:14:00your 1v1
01:14:00situations but
01:14:02it's one of
01:14:02these situations
01:14:03you've got to
01:14:03move your feet.
01:14:06Crucial time in
01:14:07the game,
01:14:07three minutes
01:14:08of the first
01:14:09half remaining
01:14:09and once again
01:14:10Celtic have to
01:14:10defend this
01:14:11set piece.
01:14:13I'll tell you
01:14:14what,
01:14:14I wouldn't have
01:14:14Callum McGregor
01:14:15where he is
01:14:16because he's
01:14:16doing nothing
01:14:17and if you watch
01:14:18at the edge of
01:14:18the box where
01:14:18Romans and
01:14:19that are,
01:14:19he's got to
01:14:20come further
01:14:20in here
01:14:23because you've
01:14:23got Antman and
01:14:24Romans at the
01:14:24edge of the
01:14:25box,
01:14:27you've got
01:14:27two on,
01:14:28we've got three
01:14:28players up doing
01:14:29nothing really.
01:14:31Tavenier over
01:14:32the ball.
01:14:41And just
01:14:42captain steps
01:14:43forward,
01:14:43curls it across
01:14:44to the far
01:14:44post,
01:14:45it's headed
01:14:45over in the
01:14:46end by
01:14:47Giga.
01:14:49And we do
01:14:50oppose such an
01:14:51aerial threat
01:14:51at set pieces.
01:14:53I'm absolutely
01:14:54delighted that
01:14:55he's went with
01:14:55the cross because
01:14:56if you see
01:14:56Romans,
01:14:57who's got a
01:14:58level of their
01:14:59foot to be
01:14:59fair to him
01:14:59at the edge
01:15:00of the box
01:15:00all alone.
01:15:05I'm not sure
01:15:06maybe the
01:15:06just fact he's
01:15:07only scored one
01:15:07goal this season,
01:15:09maybe that's
01:15:10been a factor
01:15:10over here
01:15:11comes a man
01:15:11who's scored
01:15:1220 goals.
01:15:13The ball plays
01:15:15through the channel
01:15:15as Nida
01:15:17checked his run.
01:15:18Thankfully,
01:15:18Rangers have put
01:15:19the ball out of play
01:15:19and said it
01:15:20have possession
01:15:20back.
01:15:22But that's
01:15:22what I'm saying,
01:15:23see if you put
01:15:23them under pressure,
01:15:24Paul,
01:15:24we're playing the
01:15:25ball behind them.
01:15:26Every time they
01:15:27get it,
01:15:27they just kick the
01:15:27ball out of pitch.
01:15:29So that's what I'm
01:15:30saying,
01:15:30they're quite happy
01:15:30if Celtic are
01:15:31playing back and
01:15:33slowly.
01:15:34Then they can go
01:15:35and press forward,
01:15:36but when the ball
01:15:37goes on behind them
01:15:37or beyond any of the
01:15:39midfield players or the
01:15:40centre-backs,
01:15:41then they struggle.
01:15:47Scales takes up the
01:15:48play and moves up
01:15:48towards the halfway
01:15:49line.
01:15:50Tierney once more
01:15:51in that left
01:15:52touchline,
01:15:52gets the ball.
01:15:54Negrin's inside.
01:15:58We're just putting
01:15:59everyone behind the
01:16:00ball.
01:16:00Scales floats that
01:16:01one forward.
01:16:03Engels,
01:16:05in that left
01:16:06touchline now,
01:16:07knocks it inside to
01:16:07Negrin.
01:16:08Tries to play it
01:16:09through,
01:16:10but it's blocked.
01:16:12The defenders are clear
01:16:13at only as far as
01:16:14scales,
01:16:14the ball comes
01:16:15straight back.
01:16:17The Irishman on the
01:16:18ball,
01:16:19gives it to his
01:16:20captain.
01:16:23Celtic get the
01:16:24breakthrough
01:16:25before the
01:16:25interval.
01:16:37Here comes
01:16:38there Yang goes
01:16:39behind the
01:16:40goal kick.
01:16:41It's an opportunity
01:16:42once you're in
01:16:42behind here,
01:16:43I think Negrin
01:16:43gets there,
01:16:44you think he's
01:16:45going to flash it
01:16:45across,
01:16:46he does well
01:16:46to turn,
01:16:47just can't get it
01:16:48back to Yang.
01:16:51Arne Engels is
01:16:51clearing for the
01:16:52corner,
01:16:52but I think it's
01:16:53obviously Yang
01:16:54falling back,
01:16:55he's just lofted
01:16:56the ball over the
01:16:57bar.
01:16:58Fourth official
01:16:59stands with his
01:17:00board in the
01:17:00mouth of the
01:17:01tunnel.
01:17:02We are about to
01:17:02find out how
01:17:04much added time,
01:17:06maybe a minute or
01:17:07two at the most,
01:17:08the game has flown
01:17:09by in the blink of
01:17:10an eye,
01:17:13and it will be
01:17:15one added minute,
01:17:18trusty wins that
01:17:19header,
01:17:20better,
01:17:21Gron just have
01:17:22the ball,
01:17:23McGon just
01:17:23knocked high,
01:17:25trusty having to
01:17:25shade his eyes
01:17:27from the sun,
01:17:28but gets it at
01:17:29the second attempt,
01:17:31Wiccao and back
01:17:32to Johnson and
01:17:32he just happy to
01:17:33hook it clear up
01:17:34towards the
01:17:35halfway lane,
01:17:36Giga brings
01:17:37that one down,
01:17:38rolls it all the
01:17:39way back to his
01:17:39goalkeeper.
01:17:42This time it's a
01:17:43left-footed
01:17:44clearance,
01:17:46ball drops,
01:17:47looks like
01:17:47Miki Muir who
01:17:47latches on to
01:17:48that one,
01:17:49McJohnson times
01:17:49his header well,
01:17:50but it's an
01:17:51offside decision.
01:18:03heading towards
01:18:04half-time all-square,
01:18:08game still very much
01:18:09in the balance,
01:18:09but here comes
01:18:10Celtic with Tierney
01:18:11down that
01:18:11left-hand side,
01:18:14walks it in towards
01:18:15Yang,
01:18:17transfer McGregor,
01:18:19rolls it across to
01:18:20Johnson,
01:18:21now to
01:18:22McCown,
01:18:22McCown back to
01:18:23McGregor and
01:18:24then indeed,
01:18:27I think Celtic
01:18:28were looking to
01:18:28continue but I
01:18:29suppose when they
01:18:30were going back
01:18:30the way the
01:18:31referee ends up
01:18:31just blowing.
01:18:32Yeah,
01:18:33I think they were
01:18:33just looking for
01:18:34Luke McGowan just
01:18:35to put that early
01:18:35ball in the box
01:18:36there,
01:18:37you know,
01:18:37so listen,
01:18:39it's better than
01:18:39it would have been
01:18:40one down because
01:18:40it would have been
01:18:40difficult because
01:18:41Rangers were just
01:18:42on top of that
01:18:42but apart from
01:18:44that,
01:18:44they started the game
01:18:45ever so well,
01:18:46Celtic finished the
01:18:46game stronger,
01:18:48so probably at
01:18:49half-time probably
01:18:49draws a fair
01:18:50result to be
01:18:51fair.
01:18:52Everything's still
01:18:52to play for,
01:18:53the early making
01:18:54will go after
01:18:55nine minutes,
01:18:55gave the visitors
01:18:56the lead but
01:18:56it was Yang
01:18:57finishing off what
01:18:58was a great team
01:18:59move,
01:19:01flashed the ball
01:19:02beyond Jack
01:19:02Butland,
01:19:03on Celtic level
01:19:04there have been
01:19:05chances at both
01:19:06sides,
01:19:07both teams look
01:19:08dangerous on the
01:19:09attack,
01:19:09still so much to
01:19:11play for in the
01:19:12second 45 minutes
01:19:13but here at
01:19:15Celtic Park as
01:19:16we take a
01:19:16breather for
01:19:17half-time,
01:19:18it is Celtic
01:19:19one,
01:19:19Rangers one.
01:19:32Noonan,
01:19:32she's on high
01:19:33alert,
01:19:34she pokes the
01:19:35ball home,
01:19:37Celtic find a
01:19:39way back into
01:19:40this match and
01:19:41it's Saoirse Noonan
01:19:42with the goal,
01:19:42once again.
01:19:53Now Saoirse,
01:19:55decent cross in,
01:19:56chance for
01:19:57Iheanacho,
01:19:58what a goal for
01:19:59Celtic and it's
01:20:01Kelechi,
01:20:02Iheanacho.
01:20:06Celtic have been
01:20:08crying out for
01:20:09someone with that
01:20:09striker's instinct,
01:20:11Iheanacho has it,
01:20:21for Yang,
01:20:23it's a good touch
01:20:23into space in the
01:20:24box,
01:20:25back heels it for
01:20:26Ralston,
01:20:29Anthony Ralston,
01:20:31with a fine finish,
01:20:34worthy of a striker,
01:20:35Gets Celtic into a really cosy position now as they go into half-time.
01:20:42It's Celtic two, Sinmarin nil.
01:20:54McEwen in the space, Iheanacho, he turns, gets the shot away!
01:21:02Kelechi Iheanacho has arrived in this Scottish Cup semi-final.
01:21:09And a delicate finish.
01:21:14And he rolls Celtic into this Scottish Cup final.
01:21:30He's blocked by Dyson Baida, he played first time.
01:21:33Oh, what a goal from Dyson Baida! Sensational!
01:21:38He did it in the 60 seconds last weekend.
01:21:41It took him 29 minutes, but once more his pace punishes the defence.
01:21:55Dyson Baida once again takes the ball off the toes of a Falkirk player.
01:21:58And suddenly Celtic bodies on the attack.
01:22:00It's Tierney, a chance with a shot.
01:22:02And it's in the back of the net, crashes in off the bar.
01:22:06Kieran Tierney, he files Celtic into a two-goal lead.
01:22:10A blistering shot once again, Dyson Baida at the heart of Celtic's attacking intent.
01:22:14But it's Kieran Tierney, the sixth goal of the season.
01:22:18And Celtic leads by two goals to no.
