00:02:13Yes, the Celtic supporters spent a long time celebrating that derby win against Rangers.
00:02:20But tonight, all nerves are back on because Celtic have got two to go.
00:02:29And Fir Park is the destination.
00:02:31Up against one of Scotland's best sides this season, Motherwell.
00:02:34But with that man there, Dyson Maeda, right bang, back in form with six goals in the last four games.
00:02:39Anything is possible for Celtic tonight.
00:02:43And it is a pretty straightforward win here tonight.
00:02:46Then you've got a chance to win it in front of your fans on Saturday against Hearts at Celtic Park.
00:02:53It has been a glorious day in parts, a lot of rain around as well.
00:02:57That pitch there at Fir Park that you see looks absolutely glorious.
00:03:00It will be really greasy as well.
00:03:03It will probably make for a really interesting and good fast-flowing football match.
00:03:07That's what we are hoping for.

00:03:11I can't believe it was just over 40 years ago, that Spirit of 86 season that we won at Love
00:03:16Street.
00:03:17The second-last game of the season was away at Motherwell.
00:03:20Celtic won that night two goals to nil with two goals from Brian McClure.
00:03:24I'd love a repeat tonight, not necessarily with Brian McClure scoring a couple of goals,
00:03:28although I'll take them from anywhere.
00:03:30What are your memories of that, and how are you looking forward to this one tonight?
00:03:33Oh, really looking forward to it, Gerry.
00:03:35Really excited.
00:03:36As you say, going back 40 years, I can always remember people were talking about it,
00:03:40and I said, well, it's funny in the build-up that we went there on the Tuesday night, I think
00:03:44it was.
00:03:44I'm not sure if it was the Tuesday or the Wednesday.
00:03:45We won two, but I didn't get both goals, which wasn't a surprise, to be perfectly honest with you.
00:03:50And it left us with the fact that we had to win with three clear goals come the Saturday.
00:03:53We're hoping for the same result tonight.
00:03:56The players have been exceptional to keep in the fight, let's be perfectly honest with you.
00:04:00The performances, I know they've always been looking for better,
00:04:02but to keep in that fight and be in this position now,
00:04:05against probably the best footballing side in the division this year,
00:04:08and the one that gave us the biggest lesson earlier in the season,
00:04:10so it's a really, really tough game, and it's one I'm really excited about watching.
00:04:15Well, thankfully, if we do win by two goals to nil tonight,
00:04:17we won't have to win by three goals on Saturday, but it will be a very tough match.
00:04:22Let's have a look at the team that Martin O'Neill has selected for this one.
00:04:25I don't think any surprises.
00:04:26Just the one change from the team that started against Rangers at Celtic Park.
00:04:31Look, McCown is on the bench, and Sebastian Tenetke,
00:04:34who did so well in that second half when he came on, gets a starting berth tonight.
00:04:38Peter, no surprises for you?
00:04:39No, no surprise in the respect, and that's not disrespect to Luke,
00:04:43because even though he had never had the greatest in the first half,
00:04:45he had two really important moments.
00:04:47He put a ball through that Dyson made a tackle and put in on him in the last moment,
00:04:50and he set up the goal, so great credit to him for keeping going.
00:04:53But Tenetke come on and done the things that we keep looking for him to do.
00:04:56The first thing he received possession, he faced up the opponent and ran at him.
00:05:00He put a ball in the box where I know he had his goal.
00:05:03It wasn't the greatest of crosses, but at least he's put it in there,
00:05:06and it unsettles the back line, so we're looking for things like that from him tonight.
00:05:09And if he plays like that, he's a real handful.
00:05:12But if he keeps passing the ball back away,
00:05:14then Martin will be really, really disappointed if he does that.
00:05:17Well, let's hear from Martin O'Neill a short time ago.
00:05:20He spoke to a reporter, Matthew Campbell.
00:05:23Martin, beating Falkirk, Hibbs and Rangers,
00:05:27those are all big tests, big pressure matches,
00:05:29but this is simply massive tonight, isn't it?
00:05:31Yeah, of course.
00:05:32Yeah, it's a big, big game for us, you know.
00:05:34We put ourselves into a position now where we're still in the chase.
00:05:37We'd like you to get through to the final day of the season at Celtic Park,
00:05:40if that's possible.
00:05:41And for us, we have to go out and play strongly.
00:05:44We must, as a team and as a coaching staff as well,
00:05:47we must be coming into this match with a fair bit of confidence after the weekend.
00:05:51Confidence after our win against Rangers.
00:05:54And I think you'll always derive confidence from a victory against your rivals like that.
00:05:59But, you know, that's good.
00:06:00That's really good.
00:06:01And that will stand you in decent stead for a little while in the game.
00:06:04Where things might go awry, anything that happened in the match,
00:06:08we have to try and be as strong as possible, be resolute and also go and play.
00:06:12Well, I was about to ask you that then Martin,
00:06:14because we know the quality of Motherwell,
00:06:16everybody's wax lyrical about Motherwell's season and how good they've been here.
00:06:20So what do we need to do to be successful here tonight?
00:06:22Well, we need to be, we need to be, we need to compete for a start.
00:06:25That's number one.
00:06:26Secondly, we need to try and play our own, our own game,
00:06:29try and impose our, our authority on the match as much as possible.
00:06:32And hopefully we're capable of doing that.
00:06:35As a manager, Martin, I've been wondering this all day,
00:06:38because we're speaking about, you know, the pressure on this game and what it means
00:06:42and trying to get to Saturday.
00:06:44And I've been wanting to ask you all day, as a manager,
00:06:46how do you process the emotions of days like these and matches like these
00:06:50and keep it under control?
00:06:52Well, I think that's a very good question and that takes a longer answer than here.
00:06:58I think that my own viewpoint is that I get excited about the games,
00:07:03I get nervous about the matches, which is a great thing for me to tell you the truth.
00:07:07And I feel exactly the same here today as it did 20 odd years ago.
00:07:10So, you know, that'll tell you everything.
00:07:12Yeah, absolutely.
00:07:13Finally, Martin, just, just behind you there.
00:07:15We can see the Celtic support already filtering in,
00:07:18setting up a huge colourful display as well.
00:07:21They're with you all the way and they'll be massive again tonight, won't they?
00:07:23No doubt at all about it.
00:07:24They have been fantastic.
00:07:25They have carried us over the line there in recent weeks.
00:07:28And even though it's worth telling them that there,
00:07:30that's exactly what they have done.

00:07:37Martin O'Neill speaking with our reporter Matthew Campbell a short time ago,
00:07:41looking very calm, very assured, got the suit on, he'll change,
00:07:45he'll probably already changed into the tracksuit for the game.
00:07:48He says he gets nervous, he looks very calm.
00:07:50How important is it, Peter, that Martin exudes that calmness?
00:07:54Because, you know, there's a lot of experienced players inside that Celtic team
00:07:57who know how to win titles, but there's guys who have not been here before.
00:08:02I thought that was Davey Hayes' greatest strength, the great Davey Hayes.
00:08:05When we played in 86, people came back to it.
00:08:08Even though we'd experienced players in a mixture of young ones as well.
00:08:12Davey never, you never know how nervous Davey was going into that game.
00:08:15He was so calm about it.
00:08:16He just told us about doing our job properly.
00:08:18That's all we could affect.
00:08:19And I'm sure Martin's very, very similar.
00:08:21He'll talk to certain individuals.
00:08:23The players know what's at stake.
00:08:25Sometimes it's the less you say in this moment.
00:08:27And that, because everybody's nervous.
00:08:29Let's not be kidding.
00:08:29The first game I played, I was nervous.
00:08:31The last game I played, I was nervous.
00:08:32Players are like that.
00:08:33Some people handle it differently.
00:08:35And that's the bottom line.
00:08:36But seeing your manager, if your manager's jumping about and talking all the time
00:08:40and saying things all the time and going over things,
00:08:42you don't really listen.
00:08:43You start to lose it then.
00:08:44And I'm sure Martin will be picking his moment.
00:08:46He looks calm, but you know it'll be underneath.
00:08:48As you say, he's suited at this moment in time.
00:08:49He's heart of it beating.
00:08:50He's nervous over there.
00:08:52But he'll be so looking forward to it.
00:08:53What an opportunity.
00:08:55You know, Moloz has been the best coach team as in football-wise.
00:08:58I've seen the biggest changes.
00:08:59Yes, I was going to ask you tactically.
00:09:01Why is this going to be a very difficult game for Celtic?
00:09:03I just think the way Moloz have played.
00:09:05They've not changed the way they've played everybody.
00:09:07And because they mix it up.
00:09:09They all talk about modern day coaching, playing out from the back.
00:09:11Moloz will go long.
00:09:12They'll play short.
00:09:13They'll play out.
00:09:14They'll play through.
00:09:15They mix it up.
00:09:16And that's the biggest threat they have.
00:09:17They don't.
00:09:18They play with one striker up.
00:09:19The way I'm looking at their team tonight.
00:09:20They'll play with one striker.
00:09:22But just they'll tuck in from the left-hand side.
00:09:24Mass Winesi will tuck in from the right-hand side.
00:09:26And if you don't win the battles.
00:09:28And I think the first thing Martin says there was compete.
00:09:31The secret for me when you're playing a team like this.
00:09:33Don't allow them to play forward.
00:09:35So that means you've got to be on your front foot.
00:09:37Not five yards off them.
00:09:39And that was always the thing you were told at Celtic Park as a youngster.
00:09:41Don't allow the opposition.
00:09:43If they pass back a square, you're doing your job properly.
00:09:45And I'm sure that's what Martin's saying there.
00:09:46But listening to what you said there about competing.
00:09:48I'm sure that's what he means.
00:09:50Because when we went there in the mid-week game.
00:09:52And I know it was a different manager.
00:09:53We got absolutely terrorised.
00:09:55Because everybody was five, ten yards off the game.
00:09:57And Mullerwell ripped us apart.
00:09:59If you do that tonight, they're more than capable of doing that again.
00:10:01And I'm sure Martin will have that drilled into them.
00:10:03Of course, the other result that I'm sure the players won't be interested in while they're on the pitch.
00:10:07But the supporters will be.
00:10:09Is the game at Tynecastle between Hearts and Falkirk.
00:10:12The permutations, Peter, are that Celtic could come out of this game.
00:10:16Knowing that a win against Hearts is all they need.
00:10:19They could come out of this game knowing that they have to beat Hearts by a certain number of goals.
00:10:23They could come out of this game knowing that only a draw is needed against Hearts at the weekend.
00:10:29They could lose the title tonight.
00:10:31I don't want to put a downer on things, but that is a possibility.
00:10:34If Celtic lose to Mullerwell, then there is a chance if Hearts win against Falkirk, then Hearts could be crowned
00:10:40champions tonight.
00:10:41We don't want that to happen.
00:10:44What will be going through the players' minds?
00:10:47And what will the message be from the manager, from Martin O'Neill, from Sean Maloney, knowing that, you know,
00:10:53there will be parts of the game where the results are coming in.
00:10:56The players probably pick up the scores a certain way at the other ground about concentrating on just what you're
00:11:02doing there.
00:11:02I think that's the secret is the biggest thing is to concentrate on what you do.
00:11:07And I know we've laughed throughout the season, not worry about what anybody else is doing.
00:11:09And I think that's what you've got to do as a player.
00:11:11You've got to be single minded because if you don't do your job, we know it's over.
00:11:15That's the bottom line.
00:11:16You know, it could be over and your job has to be done.
00:11:19So forget what's coming through elsewhere.
00:11:21You have to do your job and your job is to win the match.
00:11:24You go and win this game, you put it to bed, and then you go into the Harps game knowing
00:11:28what you have to do.
00:11:29And that's all Martin will be putting into the boys.
00:11:31Win this game.
00:11:32As he said right at the start, we'll probably need to win the last five games.
00:11:36We had to win eight.
00:11:37We had to go and win eight and we won eight.
00:11:39But we never thought, oh, we've got to win eight.
00:11:41We thought we've got to win one.
00:11:42Then we've got to win the next one.
00:11:43The next one.
00:11:44And that's exactly what these boys have done.
00:11:45And great credit to them.
00:11:47Now they know what they have to do tonight.
00:11:48Everybody else will be talking about Harps and whatever for sure.
00:11:50And probably us as well.
00:11:51The biggest single thing is here.
00:11:53If you take your eye off the ball as a possibility, you get punished.
00:11:56So it's all about what the boys do on the pitch here.

00:12:25The only team to have beaten Motherwell at Firth Park in the league.
00:12:29And they did it twice this season.
00:12:30But that just shows you how difficult they are on their own patch.
00:12:33And especially with this being the final home game of the season.
00:12:37Might it be Jens Bertolasco's final game as Motherwell manager?
00:12:41I saw reports today linking them to the job in France for Toulouse.
00:12:46All I can say is that hopefully he's on his way to lose tonight.
00:12:50But there's a lot at stake here for Motherwell.
00:12:53European qualification as well.
00:12:55There's plenty for those players to play for.
00:12:57Oh, absolutely.
00:12:58And there's a lot of players getting spoken about getting moves.
00:13:00And these are the games you get moves in when you're playing against a great Celtic.
00:13:03And that's what you've got to do.
00:13:04You've got to try and play at your best.
00:13:06And there's no doubt the manager will be wanting to go out and everybody talking about him.
00:13:08As we all have this season for the way he's coached his team.
00:13:11So it's going to be interesting.
00:13:12They've got some fantastic players.
00:13:14I've been really impressed with them.
00:13:16But they all understand their job.
00:13:17And the manager deserves to be getting touted for everybody.
00:13:20Because the job he's done has been phenomenal.
00:13:22But Celtic, as he says,
00:13:23if it's Celtic, how can they impose their self on Motherwell?
00:13:26That's just what you've got to do.
00:13:27And I remember going on that Tuesday evening or the Wednesday.
00:13:30And when we went there, it was a difficult game.
00:13:32Motherwell was always difficult at third part.
00:13:34And all we knew we had to do was win the game.
00:13:37It didn't matter.
00:13:38We had to win the game, even though we ended up winning a goal difference.
00:13:41Because of the way things fell out.
00:13:42All we knew, it'd be dead and buried if we'd have lost at Motherwell.
00:13:45This is the same case for these boys tonight.
00:13:47They'll be really looking forward to it.
00:13:48They'll be really excited.
00:13:49Of course, there's a bit of trepidation, as there always is.
00:13:52But you know what you have to do.
00:13:54You have to do your job well individually.
00:13:56And I'm sure Matlam will want them.
00:13:57As you talked about Falkert,
00:13:58the biggest thing I think Falkert do is Falkert went and pressed on them.
