00:00:00coming out as well. Let's go back to your commentators then, Cillian Sheridan and Paul
00:00:04Currahy.
00:00:05No changes for the visitors, no changes for the champions. This is Kieran Tierney, already
00:00:10won goal to his name this afternoon, makes his way out onto the pitch. The Celtic will
00:00:14line up with Vilsenisalo and goals, a back four of Vilsenisalo and Tierney. Midfield
00:00:20trio of McGregor, Engles and Negrin. Front three, Yang, Maeda and James Forrest. Forrest
00:00:27will start the second half on the left wing, Yang on the right, Maeda through the middle,
00:00:33he has terrorised Falkirk in the first half, a goal to his name, an assist to his name,
00:00:38and just that press, the pace of him. Falkirk have not been able to deal with it. Celtic
00:00:44will get the second half underway as the referee comes back out onto the park. Ryan Lee, not
00:00:51had too much to deal with so far. Benjamin Negrin takes the ball and goes into the centre
00:00:57circle. Well, the three previous league games between Celtic and Falkirk, it was 4-0 back
00:01:03in October, 1-0 since early January in Falkirk, and then 2-0 at the start of February. It's
00:01:122-0 here as we get the second half underway, and Celtic, perhaps with last weekend in mind,
00:01:20will be looking certainly for a third goal, and immediately Dyson Maeda again is taken
00:01:24off the toes of a Falkirk player, Lewis Nielsen, dilly-dallying. That's extraordinary.
00:01:34done brilliantly and then just, yeah, exerted all his energy in the press, but good fast
00:01:42start, I suppose, in terms of his pressing. I think Celtic will be all too aware of, from
00:01:49last weekend, of being in a 2-0 lead.
00:01:54Now here come Falkirk, Calvin Miller, edge of the box, plays it low, and it's scooped
00:01:59away by Ralston, trust he can't get a touch on it, so, yeah, St Mirren did get an early
00:02:06goal, about eight minutes into the second half, and after that they had the stronger performance,
00:02:13managed to take the game into extra time, of course no extra time in this game, but Celtic
00:02:17will look to see home the game, as Ciaran Tierney goes down, under the challenge of
00:02:23Adams, as Forrest knocks that one forward, and it's Engels down this left wing, Negrin
00:02:27ahead of him, rolls it forward to the Swede, it's on the edge of the box, still Negrin, looking
00:02:34for some support, gives it to Engels, and Celtic should have the first corner of the second
00:02:41half, good play from James Forrest.
00:02:43Yeah, he done brilliantly, Ciaran Tierney's done very well to win his header, and
00:02:48kind of keep the attack going, James Forrest slips in, I think it was Arnie Engels, again
00:02:54good play from Celtic, it goes back to that kind of beating Falkirk's press and exposing
00:03:00them down the sides, going back to kind of last again, there's two sides, so where Celtic
00:03:05will be all too aware of.
00:03:09Celtic with the first corner of the second half, the first corner that Arnie Engels will
00:03:12take, to deliver the ball, it's near post again, once more it's headed clear by Falkirk,
00:03:19and Ralston knocks that one back, been looking for the near post deliveries, and Falkirk can't
00:03:24have defended them well so far.
00:03:26Yeah, I think it's, that one where it's been whipped in at the front post, you need to be
00:03:30very accurate, all the runs have to be timed to perfection, it's a tough one to get it right,
00:03:35but when it's done right, it's very hard to defend against.
00:03:41What I was saying about the kind of two goal lead thing Celtic had last week, it can kind
00:03:46of work the other side for Falkirk, where they can come out and think, right, we've seen
00:03:50St Mirren do it last week, come back from two goals down, so I think they'll probably reference
00:03:54that at half time, where they'll come out with still a little bit of belief, so it's important
00:04:00for Celtic to get the next goal, and I think once they get the next one, it kind of opens
00:04:04up to the possibility of maybe getting a fourth, and then a fifth, where I think when a league
00:04:10is so tight, goal difference can be massive, so moments like this, there's massive chances
00:04:17to kind of improve the goal difference at this stage of the season.
00:04:21Yeah, well, of the three teams Celtic have thought in terms of a goal difference as well,
00:04:26the Rangers with plus 35, and Celtic have plus 25, and Hearts plus 30, so yeah, if we could
00:04:33get three or four goals, it certainly would put a better gloss on that.
00:04:41I think first and foremost is just win the game, and then after that you're thinking,
00:04:45right, let's see what we can build on goal-wise.
00:04:52But I think that's where the strength in Celtic's bench can come out today,
00:04:56as well, where if it does get to 3-0 and kind of Falkirk realise the game's done, Celtic
00:05:03are bringing on players who are maybe getting fitness back in their legs, where they're
00:05:08wanting to kind of give it their all and contribute and show that they've got parts to play in
00:05:13the running, so it's good to see such a strong bench again for Celtic.
00:05:18Well, that bench, the outfield options for Martin O'Neill, Alistair Johnson, Luke McCown,
00:05:24Kelechi, Iheanacho, Alex Oxley-Chamberlain, Sebastian Tenetkape, Marcello Saracci,
00:05:30Neil Hattate and Dane Murray.
00:05:32That looked like a bad challenge by Dylan Teer and Arne Engels.
00:05:37Martin O'Neill absolutely furious, the referee away play on.
00:05:40And Celtic fans not happy with that.
00:05:44No.
00:05:45And Engels still down.
00:05:47I've yet to see a replay.
00:05:49To be honest, I actually thought he did get the ball, to be fair to him.
00:06:06What's your final call on that one?
00:06:08I'm sticking with my on-field decision, I think.
00:06:16I think if he'd caught him, I think Arne Engels would still be down, I think he'd be in a
00:06:21bit more pain.
00:06:25Arne Engels does well.
00:06:28Teer tries to knock that one forward, but again, it's the closing down of Dyson Maida.
00:06:33Suddenly Celtic have space down the right flank, Ralston over the halfway lane.
00:06:38He's got Callum McGregor inside.
00:06:41Tierney's moved forward as well.
00:06:44It's weird, though.
00:06:45How often are you saying that a defence can't live with a striker's pressing?
00:06:52It's mad, but it's been so effective.
00:06:55It's bizarre.
00:06:57It's also the first line of defence for Celtic, because he is able to, as Falkirk tried to push forward,
00:07:03he's taken the ball off him.
00:07:04Yeah, definitely.
00:07:04And the other thing is, once he does it once to a defender, I was saying it earlier,
00:07:08they plant a seed of doubt in their minds the next time they get the ball.
00:07:12They're like, OK, I need to be quick here with the ball, or he's going to come in and nick
00:07:16it off me.
00:07:18Good play from Armie Engels.
00:07:21Finds Yang.
00:07:22Goes towards the touchline.
00:07:24Checks back.
00:07:25Tries to knock it through towards Ralston, but Falkirk defend that one.
00:07:28Yang battling for the ball.
00:07:30Good play for McCrean.
00:07:31Wins his side of throw-in.
00:07:35Well, the referee overruled the linesman, and the linesman gave a throw-in, the referee gave a foul.
00:07:41And I think the linesman was absolutely correct, not least the fact that he was much closer to it.
00:07:47Yeah, it baffles me sometimes when referees override linesmen when the linesmen are closer.
00:07:54And again, on the rare occasion when linesmen actually make a decision on their own,
00:08:00the referee overturns them, but I think it's a little bit unlucky there, Yang.
00:08:09Falkirk edging the way up the left-hand side of the pitch.
00:08:12As we mentioned already, Celtic will play Hibs away, Ranges at home,
00:08:16Motherwell away, Aberdeen at home.
00:08:17Falkirk will play host to Motherwell next weekend.
00:08:21And then Hibs at home, again, away to Hearts,
00:08:24and then they finish the season with a home game against Rangers.
00:08:29And a trail by two goals to nil at the moment here at Celtic Park.
00:08:33Dyson Maeda.
00:08:42Referee stopping the play there.
00:08:46But I don't think it was a foul, he'd actually, he'd weighed play on.
00:08:56Yeah, it's one of those unlucky where he just gets caught by an arm,
00:09:00I don't think it was intentional.
00:09:12Sinisalo clears that one long.
00:09:16Falkirk to deal with the ball.
00:09:18Again, Yang pressing.
00:09:20McCann cuts inside, has to knock it back.
00:09:22Falkirk on the edge of their own penalty area.
00:09:24Once more Dyson Maeda goes to close down the goalkeeper.
00:09:26Oh my goodness, had to show quick feet there,
00:09:28but this time it was Arne Engels into the box.
00:09:31The ball's taken off his toes and Falkirk scramble it away,
00:09:34but it's a corner kick.
00:09:35And once more Celtic's press, they're trying to take the corner quickly.
00:09:38Arne Engels is going to deliver this one into the box,
00:09:41to the far side.
00:09:42It's headed clear by Falkirk.
00:09:46Well, Scales didn't even get a chance to get up into the penalty area
00:09:50as the ball's played long, but well-intercepted by Sinisalo.
00:09:54But that was the press, not only of Maeda, but Engels as well.
00:09:57Yeah, it's that one we were talking about earlier,
00:09:58where he spots chances to come up on the midfield
00:10:01and jump from it and uses dynamism.
00:10:05I can never say that word.
00:10:07Dynamism.
00:10:08Dynamism.
00:10:10But it was brilliant.
00:10:11But he's just a little bit too excited, I thought,
00:10:13to take the corner quickly.
00:10:17Well, we saw some fancy footwork from Austin Trusty.
00:10:20Negrin plays it inside to his captain.
00:10:23Rolls it across to Kieran Tierney.
00:10:25Tierney takes a touch.
00:10:27White to Forrest on this left-hand side.
00:10:29Back to Tierney.
00:10:33James Forrest does well.
00:10:35Clips it to the far post.
00:10:37Goes beyond Negrin, beyond Jang.
00:10:39Good play from Ralston, surely a foul.
00:10:42Anticipated that one well.
00:10:43Calvin Miller penalised.
00:10:47Yeah, he's done well there, Tony.
00:10:49He asked to get to it ahead of him.
00:10:52Miller's probably a little bit unlucky to get away without getting a booking.
00:10:56But again, another chance for Celtic to put in...
00:10:58put in a ball in from a dangerous position.
00:11:04Oh, you feel there's more goals in this game for Celtic,
00:11:07the way that they are, putting Falkirk under pressure.
00:11:11And just there, you can kind of see,
00:11:12that's what James Forrest brings as a winger.
00:11:15He's direct and he puts...
00:11:17He's shown there, he can go on the outside with his left foot
00:11:19and put in a cross.
00:11:20And it makes a defender double-think which side he's going to go in.
00:11:24Sometimes you know a winger, depending on their strong foot,
00:11:28but if he's going to come inside or outside.
00:11:30So he's kind of...
00:11:31keeps them all his guessing now.
00:11:33Ten minutes of the second half gone.
00:11:35And the end goes, a chance to fire the ball into the box.
00:11:38Just misses the head of Dyson Maider.
00:11:41Good play from Ralston.
00:11:44The ball cut forward with Callum McGregor.
00:11:46There's no one there in the end.
00:11:47Hogarth happy to gather that one,
00:11:49but takes no time at all in launching it forward.
00:11:51There's three Falkirk players there.
00:11:53Miller couldn't control that one.
00:11:55And it's back with Sinis Hallow.
00:11:56He's taken no chances at all.
00:11:58Up towards the halfway lane.
00:12:04Then goes battling in the middle of the park.
00:12:07Falkirk take the free kick quickly.
00:12:09Miller on that right-hand side.
00:12:11Moves onto his left foot.
00:12:12Clips it into the box.
00:12:13But trusty wins the header.
00:12:15And Jan gathers that one on the right-hand side.
00:12:23Falkirk have the ball back.
00:12:25Edge in the box with Callum McGregor intercepts and suddenly sprints beyond.
00:12:28About three Falkirk players over the halfway line.
00:12:30And Celtic on the attack.
00:12:32Dyson Maider.
00:12:34Negrin's inside.
00:12:35Callum McGregor just checks his run.
00:12:36Plays it across.
00:12:37It's a chance for Engels.
00:12:39Rolls it towards Forrest.
00:12:41Forrest.
00:12:41Well, his technique there.
00:12:44Let him down.
00:12:45Slams the ground.
00:12:47He was trying to play it back across goal.
00:12:49It's counter-attack.
00:12:51Wonderfully started by Callum McGregor.
00:12:52Yeah, he saw space.
00:12:54He just broke into it.
00:12:56Breaks through a few players.
00:12:57And then again, that's when Celtic are going to be dangerous here.
00:13:00They're going to break on Falkirk.
00:13:01It's going to be either a four on three or a three v three.
00:13:06And it's just that final moment there where Jameis...
00:13:09I don't know if he maybe slips a little bit.
00:13:11I think he was just looking to flash it across the goal.
00:13:13But again, great chance for Celtic.
00:13:15And it comes from them just breaking through the Falkirk press.
00:13:26McGregor again has space through the middle.
00:13:28Gives it to Negrin.
00:13:29Can turn.
00:13:30Slots it through.
00:13:30It's a chance for Yang.
00:13:32He puts it beyond the goalkeeper.
00:13:34Well, he heads it into the back of the net.
00:13:36The flag's gone up for offside.
00:13:38It will be reviewed by VAR at the second attempt.
00:13:40Yang could well be denied what would be his tenth goal of the season.
00:13:46It's going to be tight.
00:13:48Yeah, I thought it was offside when I saw it.
00:13:49I was hoping Maeda was going to take it off him because he was onside.
00:13:52He wasn't going to get it anyway.
00:13:56Yeah, I think VAR will confirm that decision by the assistant referee over the far side.
00:14:00But again, Calum McGregor finding quite a bit of space in that midfield now.
00:14:05Yeah, the game's opening up for Celtic here a little bit because, I mean, Falkirk have nothing to lose.
00:14:10They may as well go for it.
00:14:12I mean, not that they haven't already, but there's going to be a lot more space for Celtic.
00:14:16And it's just about breaking and really exposing those areas that Falkirk are leaving.
00:14:21Interesting.
00:14:22I saw Martin O'Neill there just gesturing with Ciarán Tierney.
00:14:25I don't know if he's just saying five minutes and it may be Sarrachi who's going to be coming on,
00:14:28which again gives you that energy as the ball's played through towards Maeda.
00:14:33Celtic up towards the edge of the area.
00:14:35Maeda fires it low.
00:14:38Comes back to him.
00:14:41Gives it to Tierney.
00:14:42Tierney.
00:14:44To Engels.
00:14:52And you can see the confidence in Celtic.
00:14:54They're passing their way through Falkirk.
00:14:58McGregor switches it over to the right-hand side.
00:15:02Sarrachi could well be coming on.
00:15:04There is another movement within the Celtic bench as well.
00:15:08We can see who that is.
00:15:19Scales takes the touch.
00:15:20Rolls it out wide to Forrest on this left-hand side.
00:15:24Goes towards the touchline again.
00:15:25Plays it to the far post.
00:15:26Looking for Yang.
00:15:27Yang heads it back towards the penalty spot.
00:15:29And it's scooped clear.
00:15:31Falkirk kind of hanging on at the moment.
00:15:34Celtic pressing.
00:15:35Looking for a third goal.
00:15:38I think Falkirk looking to make one or two changes as well.
00:15:42Maybe try and get some fresh legs on.
00:15:45Looks like Sebastian Terechtes is about to come on.
00:15:49Would that be for maybe James Forrest who's on the ball at the moment?
00:15:54Still Forrest trying to go beyond Adams.
00:15:57It's almost three men marking him.
00:15:58He plays it inside to Engels.
00:15:59Engels on his left foot.
00:16:00Wins the corner kick.
00:16:01And again, Forrest, he just does the simple things so well.
00:16:05Yeah, he picked him out brilliantly.
00:16:07It's a good position from Engels.
00:16:09He's taken up a few of those in the last five, ten minutes.
00:16:12I feel like he's grown into the game.
00:16:15And I thought, as soon as he took his first touch, I thought he was going to hit us.
00:16:19I think he's tried to get himself a little bit closer to the goal.
00:16:21And it just got away from him a little bit.
00:16:24Gave Falkirk defender time to recover and defend it.
00:16:28Third corner of the second half.
00:16:30Another in-swinger from Arnett Engels.
00:16:32And now we're gone at Celtic Park.
00:16:34This time he plays it to the far post.
00:16:36It's punched away by the goalkeeper.
00:16:38Negan took a touch.
00:16:39Breaks back to Callum McGregor.
00:16:41He takes a shot, blocked again by Falkirk.
00:16:43We're getting bodies in front of the ball and fired it clear.
00:16:47They are hanging on here by a thread.
00:16:49I think they know a third goal and it's game over.
00:16:51And Celtic will make that first change of the afternoon.
00:16:55And it will be James Forrest.
00:16:56And now for the winger, a standing ovation.
00:17:00Another fine performance on this is 565th appearance for Celtic.
00:17:07Yeah, a good game for James Forrest today.
00:17:11Probably a little bit unlucky not to get an assist or two.
00:17:16But he was going after the full-backs for the 60 minutes he was on.
00:17:22Put in a few good balls to the back post that maybe one or two,
00:17:27if maybe Yang on the other side had read it a little bit earlier.
00:17:33But Falkirk as well making some changes here.
00:17:36I think Falkirk as well have sensed that Celtic are kind of sniffing out a third goal here.
00:17:42And I think Falkirk, no, once Celtic get that third, then I think they know that that's kind of the
00:17:47game got away from them.
00:17:50Kyle Lillill-Wilson and Ethan Ross on.
00:17:53Certainly Ben Brodio come off.
00:17:56Falkirk substitute making his way around the park.
00:18:00Got Celtic on the edge of the box.
00:18:03Rillill-Wilson scoops that one into the area.
00:18:06Two Celtic players go for it.
00:18:07But it's cleared by Falkirk only as far as scales.
00:18:10Nudges it out to the left-hand side to Tierney.
00:18:13Tierney crosses it to the far post.
00:18:15Oh, it just goes beyond Yang.
00:18:17Well, Kieran Tierney's delivery is exceptional.
00:18:20So close to meeting the head of the Celtic winger.
00:18:23Yeah, I think he knew as soon as he got it out of his feet where it was going.
00:18:27And I think Yang just kind of just lost his footing a bit.
00:18:38Well, certainly John Maloney and Martin O'Neill not happy with that decision.
00:18:42No, it didn't look very soft.
00:18:51I think as well what didn't help was the fact that it took a wee while before the referee blew
00:18:55the whistle.
00:18:57Yeah, yeah.
00:19:24I thought that one looked possibly softer.
00:19:26I thought it was Rillill-Wilson kind of anticipated him taking the touch and just seemed to be a bit
00:19:33more, just stronger than him.
00:19:34I think more robust in the tackle.
00:19:37Yeah, I don't think referee Ryan Lee is going to be anybody's favourite.
00:19:45A yellow card for Austin Trusty.
00:19:48I think we need to see that one again.
00:19:50He's not happy with that decision.
00:19:52He slid in.
00:19:53I think the Falkirk player got a touch, but I don't think, I'm not sure if Trusty touched him.
00:20:00I think it's up there at a yellow card.
00:20:03It's a weird lad.
00:20:04I don't think he's touched him.
00:20:07If he jumps over, he can jump over it and stay on your feet.
00:20:09I don't know.
00:20:10I mean, if that happens in the box, he's possibly getting booked for diving, I don't know.
00:20:18But the decision, a free kick to Falkirk, a chance for Kelvin Miller to deliver this ball into the box.
00:20:24Celtic with everyone back to defend, it's scooped into the six-yard box, it's glancing head up and it's off
00:20:29target.
00:20:30It's going to be disappointing there from Falkirk that they didn't manage to hit the target as the ball is
00:20:35played forward.
00:20:36Looking for Tudekty.
00:20:37Tudekty pushing the back.
00:20:43Miller rolls it out wide and Tierney anticipates.
00:20:48Celtic just need to keep concentration and not kind of get wrapped up in kind of those 50-50 decisions
00:20:55the referee is giving or soft free kicks.
00:20:58You still have to focus on the free kick that's been taken.
00:21:02Slight let off there where, not sure who it was, if it was, I think it was maybe Bernie Stewart
00:21:08who got the flick on.
00:21:09But again, it just shows that there is a bit of danger from set pieces from Falkirk.
00:21:15Stewart on the ball, almost at the corner flag.
00:21:19Falkirk in possession.
00:21:21Weathered the Celtic storm.
00:21:25And looking to try and find a way back into the game.
00:21:2820 minutes of the second half gone.
00:21:30Still Celtic with that two-goal lead.
00:21:32Both goals coming in the first half from Tyson Maeda and Kieran Tierney.
00:21:37Scales clips it forward to Tudekty.
00:21:39He works it inside, looking for Maeda.
00:21:42But Falkirk, ball dragged through.
00:21:45Stewart rolls it out wide to honour the two substitutes.
00:21:51It's played across the six-hour box by Wilson.
00:21:54Finds the head of Stewart, but it's gone behind for a goal kick.
00:21:59Yeah, again, good play from Falkirk down the right-hand side.
00:22:02Bernie Stewart gets himself probably just a little bit too in front of the ball and it's hard to adjust.
00:22:10But again, it's another warning for Celtic.
00:22:13I think just before that, Taneke kind of wanted him to take the ball in when Scales has played it
00:22:20up to him.
00:22:21He's done well to play one around the corner first time, but...
00:22:25I think Martin, he always said the exact same thing, maybe in a wee bit more, vociferously.
00:22:30Great minds think I like, don't they?
00:22:35Falkirk on the attack again, down the left-hand side.
00:22:39Ethan Ross delivers that one into the box.
00:22:41This time it's Trusted that couches the header clear.
00:22:43Ralston knocks it forward.
00:22:45Celtic just need to get their foot on the ball again.
00:22:47Suddenly, from nowhere, Falkirk have come back into this game.
00:22:55But still, they have not breached the Celtic defence, but Adams will keep this one in play.
00:23:02Almost at the touchline, plays it back to Wilson, he cuts it into the box.
00:23:05It's headed clear by Trusty.
00:23:07Leaks back to McCann, McCann takes a touch.
00:23:10Spencer tries to knock it through, gets the break of the ball, McGregor's there.
00:23:14Cuts it forward to Negan and inside.
00:23:16Yang looks as if he was blocked by the referee.
00:23:21Falkirk again to have the ball.
00:23:24And this time it's fired away to the far side.
00:23:27Tierney should have time just to clear this one, which he does.
00:23:31Up towards the halfway line, but it's easily gathered by Connor Allen.
00:23:37Falkirk pushed forward again.
00:23:39The ball scooped out wide to the right-hand side.
00:23:41Wilson once more, thought about the cross.
00:23:43Is it back?
00:23:45It's into the area.
00:23:46This time it's not clear by Scales.
00:23:50Maeda plays the one-two with Negan.
00:23:56He wins the foul.
00:23:59Tanecki taking off down the left-hand side.
00:24:05Yeah, that's the honour.
00:24:06You just wanted Tanecki just to sprint forward in behind towards the goal.
00:24:10I think it was on from just to be slid in.
00:24:13But I think Celtic just need to get their foot on the ball for a bit.
00:24:17Falkirk getting a little bit of confidence, but I feel like it's coming through a little bit of slackness from
00:24:21Celtic.
00:24:22Kind of dropping back a bit deeper as well.
00:24:34Well, Martin O'Neill has certainly lost none of the enthusiasm and passion for the game.
00:24:41Conversation with Sean Maloney, but certainly letting the players know when he's not happy with whatever they're doing.
00:24:53Tanecki launches that one forward.
00:24:58Two Falkirk players almost getting in the way of each other.
00:25:02Nielsen manages to knock that one forward.
00:25:05Miller battling with McGregor.
00:25:07Managed to knock it forward to Ross.
00:25:08He knocks it forward.
00:25:09The referee waves the advantage.
00:25:12McCann puts it towards Wilson.
00:25:14Wilson takes a good first touch.
00:25:16And he blasts it beyond Sinisalo.
00:25:21I'm sure that will be checked for VAR.
00:25:24But if that stands with 69 minutes on the clock, it was a wonderful finish.
00:25:29But a blow for Celtic.
00:25:312-1.
00:25:31Great finish.
00:25:33Initially, I thought it was quite tight for offside.
00:25:36I think Tony Ralston just needed to kind of take the guy out of us here in the tackle.
00:25:44He's tried, he does well to get the ball moving.
00:25:48I think he may be onside.
00:25:50I think Scales may have just been beyond him.
00:25:53Well, there was nothing much Wilson-Salo could do.
00:25:55The referee just waiting for the VAR check.
00:25:59Yeah, he's done brilliant to take it down on the kind of left-hand side of his chest
00:26:03and hit a half-volley into the top corner.
00:26:07Not much, like I said, Sinisalo could do.
00:26:11Well, it looks as if there's going to be a double change with the full-backs.
00:26:15Alistair Johnson and Marcello Siracchi.
00:26:19Look as if they're getting ready.
00:26:21VAR still checking.
00:26:25I mean, I always feel with VAR, how difficult is it to draw straight lines, really?
00:26:33Celtic will certainly be hoping for a break, but the check complete.
00:26:37And it is a goal.
00:26:38We thought that from the first replay that we saw, Kylian.
00:26:41Yeah, like we said, it's a great finish, but you could just feel that last five.
00:26:49It certainly has to be at least a yellow card to Wilson for that challenge.
00:26:56Just feel that last five, ten minutes, Celtic let the game get away from him a little bit
00:27:01and we're giving Falkirk confidence, Falkirk are getting on the ball
00:27:05and I feel like they could sense it.
00:27:11So we have just about, well, 90 minutes plus any added time to go here at Celtic Park.
00:27:16Celtic lead by two goals to one.
00:27:18They are going to make another double change.
00:27:20I think the first of those is going to be Kieran Tierney for Marcello Siracchi.
00:27:25And I'm guessing the other one will be Alistair Johnson for Anthony Ralston.
00:27:31So good to see the Canadian back in action.
00:27:37So indeed, Kieran Tierney scored on that second goal.
00:27:48In fact, there's going to be a triple change.
00:27:50It looks as if it's going to be Kelechi Iheanacho being replaced by Yang.
00:27:56So does it mean Maeda will go out to the left, Teneti out to the right?
00:28:02Yeah, I feel like these changes were going to happen around the 70-minute mark
00:28:06and probably Martin O'Neill was hoping that they could have held on to being 2-0 up
00:28:12while making these changes rather than when they are now.
00:28:16But you can hear from the reception, great for Alistair Johnson to be back.
00:28:26Different attacking challenges that Falkert will have to deal with.
00:28:30We saw Kalicchi Iheanacho to great effect at Hampden last weekend
00:28:35as Johnson gets his first touch and just rolls all the way back to his goalkeeper.
00:28:39As he could do nothing about that shot from Wilson,
00:28:43which has brought Falkert right back into the game.
00:28:47Well, they were hanging on at one point.
00:28:49You felt 3-0 and that would have been it,
00:28:50but they didn't weather the storm, I suppose.
00:28:53Well, that's a late challenge with Spencer and Negri and Shirley.
00:28:58Yeah, it was the first 10-15 minutes in the second half for Celtic.
00:29:03I felt there was a chance for them to get that third.
00:29:05Falkert looked as if they were...
00:29:07They looked a little bit all over the place.
00:29:11I think fair play to John McGlynn.
00:29:13He saw it as well.
00:29:14He made some changes.
00:29:16One of them comes on, scores a great goal.
00:29:19But it just felt like it came at a time when Celtic just eased off the game a little bit
00:29:23and allowed Falkert to get back into it.
00:29:29But, I mean, crucially, Celtic are still winning 2-1.
00:29:37Well, Diza Meda now outweighed on the left.
00:29:41Connected wide and right.
00:29:42Behind him is Alistair Johnson.
00:29:44And he just knocks that one towards Iheanacho.
00:29:50Good play from Engels.
00:29:52Connected.
00:29:53Spins round his man.
00:29:56Goes to the touchline.
00:29:58He's at the corner flag.
00:30:00There's two Falkert players round him.
00:30:01He's still battling for that ball.
00:30:04The free kick goes against the Tunisian.
00:30:19Well, we mentioned the three points, the most important thing.
00:30:22It would have been next to get the third go and just have an afternoon
00:30:25where the nerves are nice and settled.
00:30:27Yeah, I mean, look, we got kind of sucked into it as well.
00:30:32When it was 2-0, you start talking about getting 3-4
00:30:36and first and foremost, the most important thing,
00:30:38especially at this stage of the season,
00:30:40is to just win, get three points.
00:30:42And I think now that's very much the case.
00:30:46Now it's as if Alex Oxley-Chamberlain
00:30:48is getting ready to come on as well.
00:30:50Iheanacho just knocks that one inside
00:30:52and Adams plays the ball over the top,
00:30:54but there's no one there.
00:30:56And again, I suppose as long as Falkert can hang in,
00:30:59they're just looking for that one other opportunity,
00:31:01just a break for another chance of a goal.
00:31:03Yeah, definitely.
00:31:04I mean, look, we can see even here
00:31:05they're pressing up with nearly seven players
00:31:10up on Celtic's goal kick.
00:31:14Drop back now because Celtic are going to go long,
00:31:16but it shows the intent from Falkert
00:31:19is to keep pressing up.
00:31:21They're going to keep pushing.
00:31:23They themselves will sense
00:31:25that they can get something out of the game.
00:31:28None more so than after scoring a goal
00:31:31and getting themselves back in us.
00:31:33Into the last 15 minutes here at Celtic Park,
00:31:36it's still Celtic will lead,
00:31:37but it's by two goals to one.
00:31:41Superb strike from Karel Wilson.
00:31:44Reducing the deficit.
00:31:45The goal is in the first half for Celtic
00:31:47from Maeda and Tierney.
00:31:54Celtic about to make another change
00:31:56in the middle of the park.
00:32:00As then goes Battles for that one,
00:32:01but it's Falkert.
00:32:03He knocked the ball forward,
00:32:04Sinisalo gathers it,
00:32:05rolls it out to Sarrachi on this left-hand side.
00:32:07He can drive forward.
00:32:08He's got Negri in ahead of him,
00:32:10skips past two challenges
00:32:11into the middle towards Engels.
00:32:16Johnson rolls it out wide to Tanecki
00:32:18on this right-hand side.
00:32:20The winner cuts inside.
00:32:22He's on the edge of the box,
00:32:23just rolls it out wide to Johnson.
00:32:27Engels back to Johnson.
00:32:29Johnson fires it low.
00:32:31It's Falkert could bring the ball clear,
00:32:33but give it away immediately.
00:32:35Engels challenged there.
00:32:36Oh, surely a foul.
00:32:40And a yellow card for the Falkert player
00:32:42for the challenge on the Belgian.
00:32:44Devon Tate, I think that was.
00:32:47Yeah, good play just before
00:32:48down the right-hand side
00:32:50with Arnie Engels and Alistair Johnson.
00:32:52I think you can already see
00:32:54within the five minutes that he's been on
00:32:56what he brings going forward as well.
00:33:00And then just a little bit unlucky
00:33:02with the cutback.
00:33:03I think it was Negri was there
00:33:04in his usual kind of
00:33:04just arriving late into the box.
00:33:07But again,
00:33:08possible chance here for Celtic
00:33:09from a...
00:33:11It's kind of one of those
00:33:13where it's an awkward position where...
00:33:14Will they try the shot?
00:33:15To score from a direct free kick from here,
00:33:18it needs
00:33:20an unbelievable
00:33:21free kick taker,
00:33:22whereas it's almost a little bit too close
00:33:24for a cross to be floated in.
00:33:30So Celtic make the change
00:33:31and it's Callum McGuire
00:33:32who comes off to be replaced
00:33:34by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
00:33:36With 13 minutes of the game remaining.
00:33:45Celtic halved the free kick,
00:33:47an opportunity.
00:33:50Perhaps for Negri
00:33:51to test the goalkeeper.
00:33:53Looking for his 21st goal
00:33:55of the campaign.
00:33:59If the Celtic can get that third goal,
00:34:01they could be home and dry.
00:34:04I don't think he's going to go for it.
00:34:06He steps forward,
00:34:08fires it,
00:34:09and it's panned round the post.
00:34:10Well, we saw him score
00:34:11a wonderful free kick at time,
00:34:13Caswell in the season.
00:34:14Hogarth dealt with it well,
00:34:15Celtic have the corner.
00:34:17Yeah, it was a good effort.
00:34:19Probably just needed to be a little bit...
00:34:21Probably a little bit higher
00:34:22into the...
00:34:22More of the top corner,
00:34:24but good effort,
00:34:25good save,
00:34:27and chance here for Celtic
00:34:28to hopefully they can kind of get that...
00:34:31one of those routines
00:34:32that you can see
00:34:33that they're trying to pull off.
00:34:34Negri fires it.
00:34:36Near post,
00:34:36a diving header away,
00:34:38clears it.
00:34:41Saracchi
00:34:43clips that one
00:34:43to the left-hand side,
00:34:44looking for Maida.
00:34:51Saracchi offers himself
00:34:52his support again.
00:34:56Every Falkirk player
00:34:57back in their own half
00:34:58at the moment,
00:34:59but pressing hard.
00:35:01Johnson clips that one forward,
00:35:03looking for the willing one
00:35:03of Tonekic.
00:35:04He's going to keep that one in play,
00:35:06clips it back across,
00:35:08and it's punched behind.
00:35:10It was a tricky one
00:35:11for the goalkeeper,
00:35:11they felt.
00:35:12Ian Atchle,
00:35:12and I think Ian Atchle
00:35:13did the right thing
00:35:14by not challenging the goalkeeper.
00:35:15Yeah, because you know
00:35:16goalkeepers
00:35:18these days
00:35:18don't like catching the ball,
00:35:20so I kind of knew
00:35:21as soon as it was up
00:35:21near the cross,
00:35:22where he was going to tap it over.
00:35:23Ian Atchle,
00:35:23like you're saying,
00:35:24does well experience
00:35:25not to just go
00:35:26and give the referee
00:35:27a chance
00:35:28to give a goalkeeper
00:35:29a soft free kick.
00:35:31Well,
00:35:32Negrin again.
00:35:34Plays it low
00:35:35to the near post.
00:35:36It's glanced down,
00:35:37and it's a wonderful save
00:35:38from the goalkeeper.
00:35:39Overhead kick from Maida
00:35:41and goes way
00:35:42to the post that time.
00:35:44The near post corner
00:35:45was met powerfully
00:35:47by Scales.
00:35:48Goalkeeper,
00:35:48you have to say,
00:35:49did very well there.
00:35:50Yeah, great save.
00:35:52Great corners.
00:35:53Liam Scales gets a good
00:35:54flick on it.
00:35:54It's a good delivery.
00:35:55It beats the first man,
00:35:56which is so important
00:35:57from any set piece.
00:36:00But again,
00:36:01you have to say,
00:36:02fair play,
00:36:02it's a great save.
00:36:04And I have to say,
00:36:05Dyson made it a little bit
00:36:06unlucky with the overhead
00:36:08kick after.
00:36:10Ben Parkinson
00:36:11replacing Barney Stewart
00:36:13up front for Falkirk,
00:36:15where we have
00:36:16ten minutes
00:36:17of the 90 remaining,
00:36:18plus whatever
00:36:18added time
00:36:20the officials.
00:36:23Just in the build-up to...
00:36:28In the build-up
00:36:28to some of that
00:36:29before where
00:36:31Sebastian Tenecki,
00:36:32it was good to see him
00:36:33go in behind.
00:36:33He comes short
00:36:35to go in behind.
00:36:35Alistair Johnson spots us.
00:36:38Rather than all the time
00:36:39coming short,
00:36:40I like to see the wingers
00:36:41go in behind
00:36:42and if there's space there,
00:36:43go and use us.
00:36:54Mark O'Neill once again
00:36:55furious with that decision
00:36:57by the referee.
00:36:59Falkirk have the free kick.
00:37:03Spencer rolls it across
00:37:04to the left-hand side.
00:37:07Fourth official company
00:37:07in conversation with
00:37:08Sean Maloney,
00:37:09but it's Falkirk.
00:37:11Parkinson gets his first touch.
00:37:12He's been tracked by
00:37:14Trusty,
00:37:15but he plays it inside
00:37:15and Falkirk have the ball.
00:37:17It's not through
00:37:17towards Parkinson,
00:37:18but Oxlade-Chamberlain
00:37:19does well defensively.
00:37:22Johnson knocks that one
00:37:23forward over the halfway
00:37:24line looking for the run
00:37:25of Ian Accio,
00:37:25but Allen will get there
00:37:27first and rolls it back
00:37:28to his goalkeeper.
00:37:29He's had a couple
00:37:29of really good saves
00:37:30to keep his side
00:37:31in this game.
00:37:32They still trail by
00:37:33two goals to one,
00:37:33but they're all played
00:37:34over the top
00:37:34looking for the goal scorer.
00:37:36A rolling run of Wilson.
00:37:39Gets beyond Sriracha.
00:37:41He's into the box.
00:37:42Still Wilson.
00:37:44Plays the shot
00:37:44and Scales does enough
00:37:46to take the pound off it
00:37:47and it ends up
00:37:48in the arms of Sinisalo.
00:37:50Can I know Wilson's
00:37:51caused Celtic problems
00:37:52since he's come on?
00:37:54Yeah, I think Sriracha,
00:37:55at first I thought
00:37:56he dove in
00:37:57when he didn't need to,
00:37:58but you can see
00:37:58he just lost his footing there.
00:38:01And the last thing
00:38:02you want to do
00:38:02is give a winger
00:38:03who's got a bit of confidence
00:38:04just scored a good goal
00:38:05to give him
00:38:06any kind of sniffs
00:38:07in around the box.
00:38:11Hoxley-Chamberlain
00:38:12on the ball.
00:38:15Inegrin out wide.
00:38:16Tenecki takes up the play.
00:38:19Drives towards McCann.
00:38:20Skips past Spencer.
00:38:22Still Tenecki.
00:38:22Plays it low.
00:38:23It's a good ball.
00:38:24It's a chance for Maeda.
00:38:25And he's scored!
00:38:26Another goal from Dyson.
00:38:28Wonderful wing play
00:38:30from Sebastian Tenecki.
00:38:31And there was Dyson Maeda.
00:38:33Hit it low.
00:38:35Hit it hard.
00:38:35And Celtic
00:38:36played by three goals to one.
00:38:41Great goal.
00:38:42Great work down the right-hand side
00:38:44by Sebastian Tenecki.
00:38:47Pulls a great ball back.
00:38:49And it's a good finish
00:38:51you have to say
00:38:51from Dyson Maeda.
00:38:53Keeps it controlled.
00:38:54Keeps it low.
00:38:55Finds the corner.
00:38:58Goalkeeper no chance.
00:39:01Well, Tenecki just put the ball
00:39:03into a dangerous area.
00:39:04And that was a great finish
00:39:05from Maeda.
00:39:07His second of the afternoon.
00:39:08Celtic studs.
00:39:09And you would like to think now
00:39:11with about seven minutes
00:39:12raining on the clock,
00:39:14Celtic have the points.
00:39:16Yeah, I think so.
00:39:17I think Celtic will feel that
00:39:18and know that themselves
00:39:19and probably more so
00:39:21the other side of it.
00:39:23Falkirk probably felt like
00:39:24they were maybe still
00:39:26had a chance to get into it
00:39:27and then
00:39:27I think they'll
00:39:29deep down
00:39:30I feel like they'll know
00:39:31that that's the game
00:39:32gone from them as well.
00:39:40I feel slightly
00:39:41more relaxed.
00:39:42Not 100%.
00:39:45Not enough to go
00:39:46talking about
00:39:47four and five goals yet.
00:39:51Or a Dyson Maeda hat trick.
00:39:53But he is in a fine game
00:39:54this afternoon.
00:39:55I would be
00:39:57astounded
00:39:57if he is not
00:39:59the man of the match.
00:40:00Two goals
00:40:01and an assist
00:40:02and causing
00:40:03all sorts of problems
00:40:04all afternoon.
00:40:06Yeah, he's deserved it
00:40:07with the work rate
00:40:08he's put in
00:40:08the pressing
00:40:09we keep talking about.
00:40:11But showed good composure there
00:40:14with the ball
00:40:16to finish it
00:40:17and gets what he deserves.
00:40:19You work hard enough
00:40:21it's good that you get rewarded
00:40:22with doing
00:40:23all the hard graft
00:40:25and off the ball running
00:40:27that he does.
00:40:35and he's back defending
00:40:37helping Seracchi
00:40:38who plays all the way
00:40:39back to his goalkeeper.
00:40:41Again, it's good to see
00:40:42impact off the bench
00:40:43Tanechi comes on
00:40:45beats one or two players
00:40:47there and gets the ball
00:40:48into it
00:40:48like it's in a good position.
00:40:51Something we spoke about
00:40:52at the start
00:40:53and during the game
00:40:53the strength of Celtic's bench
00:40:55now in attacking-wise
00:40:58as well
00:40:58where
00:41:00probably two or three players
00:41:01will be disappointed
00:41:02and unlucky
00:41:03not to come on
00:41:05which probably adds
00:41:06to the guys
00:41:07when you actually do get a chance
00:41:08and come off the bench
00:41:10you have to produce
00:41:11you have to give something
00:41:12because there is guys there
00:41:13who are dying
00:41:14to get their chance.
00:41:18Listen to the Celtic fans
00:41:20what this third goal
00:41:21means to them
00:41:22they are going to play
00:41:23their part between
00:41:24now and the end of the season
00:41:26another two home games here
00:41:28will be on our travels
00:41:30next weekend
00:41:30East of Rhodes
00:41:32that will be a tough game
00:41:34but they all are
00:41:38Scales moves forward
00:41:39slides that one
00:41:40towards Iheanacho
00:41:44he just drifted inside there
00:41:47certainly
00:41:48he'll be pleased
00:41:49he'll be
00:41:49he'll be disappointed
00:41:50last weekend
00:41:51at Hamden
00:41:51but on the right wing
00:41:53he just did what you want
00:41:54your winger to do
00:41:55just beat a man
00:41:55and just get the ball
00:41:56into a dangerous area
00:41:57Celtic have lost the ball
00:41:58and it's Wilson
00:41:59pops it into the area
00:42:00and it's
00:42:01Arne Engels back
00:42:02defending
00:42:06Celtic have the two goal lead
00:42:07but the last thing they want
00:42:08in the last five minutes
00:42:09is to concede another goal
00:42:10good play from Ternetke
00:42:18and it's hopefully
00:42:19Chamberlain has space
00:42:20switches it to the left hand side
00:42:22towards Maida
00:42:22Maida takes the first touch
00:42:24and it's just taken off his toes
00:42:27Adams
00:42:28is he going to fall down?
00:42:30no
00:42:30he decides not to
00:42:31he wants his side to throw in
00:42:32I think he was in between
00:42:34two minds
00:42:34whether to maybe let it bounce
00:42:36and come across him
00:42:37or go for the first touch
00:42:39on the run
00:42:39which is the harder of the two
00:42:41he almost had it
00:42:42and to be fair
00:42:43I don't blame him
00:42:44given the game he's had
00:42:45he's going to be high on confidence
00:42:46it's when
00:42:47that's the time
00:42:48when those kind of things
00:42:49come off
00:42:51what you were saying about
00:42:52Ternetke
00:42:52when you've got wingers
00:42:53that are
00:42:54that can go in
00:42:55and beat guys
00:42:56and then you know
00:42:57they're going to put a ball
00:42:58in the box
00:42:58it makes it much easier
00:42:59as a striker
00:43:00where you can see them
00:43:01out wide
00:43:02he's going to try
00:43:03and take him on
00:43:04and I can kind of
00:43:05judge my run
00:43:06off that
00:43:07I can hold off
00:43:08before I make a run
00:43:09to the front post
00:43:09or across the goal
00:43:11so it does help
00:43:13the striker a lot
00:43:14when you know
00:43:14that a winger's going to
00:43:15maybe take a guy
00:43:16go down the winger
00:43:18or when he's going to
00:43:18deliver across
00:43:30here comes Alfa Johnson
00:43:32driving through it
00:43:33and he tried to slide it
00:43:34towards Ian Atchwood
00:43:36actually dropped deep
00:43:37looking for the ball
00:43:39two and a half minutes
00:43:40plus added time
00:43:41Celtic lead by three goals
00:43:43to one
00:43:43Dyson Maida with a double
00:43:44Keane Tierney with a goal
00:43:47it was just a little
00:43:48example there
00:43:49of the energy
00:43:50you see Sirachi
00:43:51bring to the team
00:43:52where he
00:43:53when Alfa Johnson
00:43:54made that pass
00:43:55he was actually
00:43:55running beyond
00:43:57beyond the
00:43:57Hinacho first
00:44:05that must be tough
00:44:06for the Volcourt players
00:44:07down that right
00:44:07when you've got Sirachi
00:44:08and Maida
00:44:09you've got to defend
00:44:10against the pace
00:44:11of both of them
00:44:11yeah and you know
00:44:12Maida's not going to
00:44:13stop until the
00:44:14until the final
00:44:15whistle
00:44:16and Sirachi's
00:44:18come on
00:44:18fresh legs
00:44:19he's going to
00:44:21bring bundles
00:44:21of energy
00:44:22good play from
00:44:24Tanecki
00:44:24surely brought down
00:44:25pulled down
00:44:26a free kick
00:44:27and he's been causing
00:44:29Liam McCann
00:44:29problems since he's
00:44:30come on
00:44:31ninth yellow card
00:44:32of the season
00:44:33for the left back
00:44:34but
00:44:35Tanecki has looked lively
00:44:36he's obviously got
00:44:38an assist
00:44:39I feel he's looked
00:44:41a little bit more
00:44:41comfortable over on
00:44:42the right wing
00:44:43I don't know if that's
00:44:44maybe the
00:44:45different kind of
00:44:46fallback he's been up
00:44:47against or not
00:44:48but so far he's been
00:44:49given
00:44:51he's been giving
00:44:52Liam McCann
00:44:52a much tougher
00:44:53time I feel
00:44:54out on that
00:44:55right wing
00:45:03Celtic have the
00:45:04free kick
00:45:0760 seconds
00:45:08plus added time
00:45:09remaining
00:45:12we haven't had the
00:45:12Benjamin Negrin
00:45:13goal yet
00:45:15yes
00:45:16there is still time
00:45:17Celtic on the attack
00:45:18Scales plays that
00:45:19one through
00:45:19it's a wonderful
00:45:20ball
00:45:20it's a chance for
00:45:21Maida for his
00:45:22hat-trick
00:45:22oh my goodness
00:45:23he knows he should
00:45:25be going home with
00:45:25the match ball
00:45:26what a pass from
00:45:28Liam Scales
00:45:29and that would have
00:45:30been the icing on
00:45:31the cake of a fine
00:45:32performance from
00:45:33Dyson Maida
00:45:33I think it may have
00:45:34been offside but
00:45:35oh my goodness
00:45:38what a pass from
00:45:39Scales
00:45:39great pass from
00:45:40Liam Scales
00:45:40and again great
00:45:41great run from
00:45:42Maida just slightly
00:45:44I was going to say
00:45:45he's went too early
00:45:46but maybe just too
00:45:47fast and he's
00:45:48kind of got into
00:45:49the position too
00:45:49quickly but
00:45:50great play from
00:45:51Celtic great
00:45:52an unbelievable
00:45:53pass from Liam
00:45:54Scales and then
00:45:56you're just waiting
00:45:57for him to slide it
00:45:57into the bottom
00:45:58corner but
00:46:00maybe he knew it
00:46:01was offside
00:46:01we'll see
00:46:02he did
00:46:02that's what I put
00:46:04any of my misses
00:46:04down to
00:46:05I was offside
00:46:06anyway
00:46:06Henry Cartwright
00:46:07on for
00:46:08Dylan Tate
00:46:09of course
00:46:10Cartwright
00:46:11found himself
00:46:13red carded
00:46:14last weekend
00:46:14at Hampden
00:46:15his second
00:46:15yellow card
00:46:16for a
00:46:17outrageous dive
00:46:18inside the
00:46:19Dunfermline box
00:46:21he should manage
00:46:22to stay on to
00:46:23the end of the
00:46:23final whistle
00:46:24this evening
00:46:25there are three
00:46:26added minutes
00:46:27at the end of
00:46:28this game
00:46:28we're into
00:46:29them now
00:46:29Celtic lead
00:46:30by three goals
00:46:31to one
00:46:32as Fogarth
00:46:33launches that
00:46:34one long
00:46:34Scales gets a
00:46:36touch with
00:46:36Wilson
00:46:36he knew not
00:46:37to play it
00:46:38forward because
00:46:39striker would have
00:46:40been offside
00:46:41but Falkert still
00:46:42half the ball
00:46:43Miller
00:46:44nudges it to
00:46:45Adams
00:46:45Adams into
00:46:46the area
00:46:48smothered by
00:46:48Sinisalo
00:46:51yeah I think
00:46:5390th minute
00:46:53I don't think
00:46:54there's any
00:46:54need for
00:46:55for Liam
00:46:56Scales
00:46:56he's had a
00:46:56good game
00:46:57today
00:46:57he doesn't
00:46:57need to
00:46:58try anything
00:46:58too cute
00:46:59just I
00:46:59think just
00:47:00clear that
00:47:00last one
00:47:02but looks
00:47:03like Celtic
00:47:05are going to
00:47:05get the
00:47:05three points
00:47:06here which
00:47:07is massive
00:47:08in a season
00:47:08where so
00:47:10far the team
00:47:10that has been
00:47:11playing first
00:47:12ahead of the
00:47:13other twos
00:47:16has been
00:47:16putting a lot
00:47:17of pressure
00:47:17on them
00:47:18whether it's
00:47:19the Sunday
00:47:20or the
00:47:21Monday
00:47:21or the
00:47:21Saturday
00:47:21evening
00:47:22so Celtic
00:47:24are putting
00:47:24the pressure
00:47:25back on
00:47:27the
00:47:28Harts
00:47:29and Rangers
00:47:29a double
00:47:30header
00:47:30tomorrow
00:47:31Rangers
00:47:32play host
00:47:33to Motherwell
00:47:33followed by
00:47:34the Edinburgh
00:47:35Derby
00:47:35Heberlian
00:47:36versus
00:47:36Harts
00:47:37at Easter
00:47:37Rhodes
00:47:39Celtic
00:47:39have done
00:47:40their job
00:47:41this afternoon
00:47:44Wilson
00:47:46he's done
00:47:47well since
00:47:47he's come on
00:47:48plays the ball
00:47:49to Adams
00:47:49takes a touch
00:47:50off skills
00:47:51and it could
00:47:51be a corner
00:47:52for Falkirk
00:47:55maybe one last
00:47:56opportunity
00:47:57for the visitors
00:47:59and not surprisingly
00:48:00the stadium
00:48:01announcer has just
00:48:01announced the man
00:48:02of the match
00:48:03and it is of course
00:48:04Diza Maeda
00:48:05two goals
00:48:06one assist
00:48:06and a
00:48:08powerful performance
00:48:09he's at the near
00:48:10post at the moment
00:48:10defending
00:48:11Falkirk will have
00:48:12one last chance
00:48:13to reduce the deficit
00:48:14but they will run out
00:48:15of time
00:48:15but Celtic will
00:48:16certainly not want
00:48:17to concede
00:48:17a second goal
00:48:18as Calvin Miller
00:48:18delivers that one
00:48:19into the box
00:48:20it's headed clear
00:48:21by Scales
00:48:22Cartwright brings
00:48:23that one down
00:48:25knocks it back
00:48:26to McCann
00:48:27thought about the shot
00:48:28but too many Celtic players
00:48:29in front of him
00:48:29instead
00:48:30ups to play it out
00:48:31wide to the right
00:48:31hand side
00:48:33and it might be
00:48:34another corner kick
00:48:35so the end of the game
00:48:36the ball up in the Celtic
00:48:40box
00:48:40but Celtic defending
00:48:41well
00:48:42we are almost out
00:48:43of time
00:48:4430 seconds
00:48:45of the three
00:48:46added minutes
00:48:47remaining
00:48:47and it will be
00:48:49Ethan Ross
00:48:49to deliver this one
00:48:50into the box
00:48:53fires it into the
00:48:54shot box
00:48:54and it's trusty
00:48:55gets a head on it
00:48:56spins out
00:48:57in this near side
00:48:59and another corner
00:49:00so plenty of corners
00:49:01but so far
00:49:03nothing comes of them
00:49:04Falkirk keeping
00:49:05going to the end
00:49:06and perhaps
00:49:07just an indication
00:49:08of how important
00:49:09that third goal
00:49:09was given the fact
00:49:10that Falkirk
00:49:11otherwise would have
00:49:13been in a position
00:49:13to try and push
00:49:14for an equaliser
00:49:15that vital third goal
00:49:16from Dyson Maeda
00:49:18wants to give Celtic
00:49:20all three points
00:49:20this afternoon
00:49:21they will go joint
00:49:22top of the table
00:49:23with 70 points
00:49:24alongside Hartz
00:49:25who will just stay
00:49:25top by virtue
00:49:26of a superior goal
00:49:28difference
00:49:28by my watch
00:49:29we are out of time
00:49:32but Falkirk still
00:49:33on the attack
00:49:35the ball curled
00:49:36into the box
00:49:38Liam Scales
00:49:38heads it clear
00:49:39and that is
00:49:40the last touch
00:49:40of the 90 minutes
00:49:43Celtic have
00:49:44all three points
00:49:45they were made
00:49:46to work for it
00:49:47by Falkirk
00:49:48to come back
00:49:48into it
00:49:49in the second half
00:49:50but at the end
00:49:50of the day
00:49:50two goals
00:49:51from Dyson Maeda
00:49:52one from Ciaran Tierney
00:49:55and no doubt
00:49:56where the points
00:49:57deserve to be
00:49:58and very important
00:49:59to get those points
00:50:00on the board
00:50:01Ciaran
00:50:01yeah definitely
00:50:03I think Celtic
00:50:04you'd have to say
00:50:05fully deserve
00:50:06the three points
00:50:08barrow moment
00:50:09of maybe 15-20 minutes
00:50:10in the second half
00:50:11where Falkirk
00:50:12got a little bit
00:50:13on top
00:50:13and got their goal
00:50:16yeah I think
00:50:17Celtic deserved
00:50:18the win
00:50:18those chances
00:50:20maybe to have
00:50:21an easier
00:50:21win maybe
00:50:23before Falkirk
00:50:24gets scored
00:50:25but Dyson Maeda
00:50:26kind of back
00:50:27to his best again
00:50:28he looks lively
00:50:29he looks full of energy
00:50:31and capped off
00:50:32a great game
00:50:34and Dave for himself
00:50:35where he got rewarded
00:50:36for all his hard work
00:50:38man of the match
00:50:39I don't think anyone
00:50:39can argue with that
00:50:41and yeah
00:50:42again great start
00:50:43to kind of
00:50:45this business end
00:50:46of the season
00:50:48where Celtic
00:50:49can now put
00:50:49some pressure
00:50:50on the other teams
00:50:51and we mentioned
00:50:52during the course
00:50:52of the game
00:50:53Dyson's obviously
00:50:54not scored
00:50:54anywhere near
00:50:55as many goals
00:50:56this season
00:50:56but if he's hitting
00:50:57this being a form
00:50:58in terms of goals
00:50:59and what he's doing
00:51:00now in the remaining games
00:51:02I mean he's
00:51:03a match one-off
00:51:04yeah definitely
00:51:05and it all
00:51:05it feeds into
00:51:06when other teams
00:51:08watching
00:51:08other defences
00:51:09watching
00:51:10we'll see
00:51:10and they're like
00:51:10oh god okay
00:51:11Falkirk Maeda
00:51:12he's back
00:51:13he's got this
00:51:14energy where
00:51:15he's not giving
00:51:16defenders a minute
00:51:17or a second
00:51:17on the ball
00:51:19and he took
00:51:21his chances
00:51:21that presented
00:51:23to him
00:51:24so he's going
00:51:25to be going
00:51:25into these
00:51:26final four games
00:51:27now full of
00:51:28confidence as well
00:51:29I think
00:51:30which bodes well
00:51:32for Celtic
00:51:33and of course
00:51:34seeing Alistair Johnson
00:51:35back in action
00:51:36that's a boost
00:51:38four big games
00:51:39coming up
00:51:39he's a big game
00:51:40player
00:51:40yeah massive
00:51:41we could see
00:51:42in the 20 minutes
00:51:43he was on
00:51:44he was still
00:51:45bombing up
00:51:46he was trying
00:51:47to play a few
00:51:48clever forward
00:51:49passes
00:51:50and he's going
00:51:51to be massive
00:51:52and again today
00:51:53it was another
00:51:54example of
00:51:55he's come off
00:51:56the bench
00:51:56he's come off
00:51:57the bench
00:51:58made an impact
00:51:59plenty of more
00:51:59guys there
00:52:00who will be
00:52:02probably annoyed
00:52:03and disappointed
00:52:04that they didn't
00:52:05get a chance
00:52:05to come on
00:52:06so I think
00:52:08it's a good day
00:52:08all round for Celtic
00:52:09guys who played
00:52:11and started
00:52:11made impact
00:52:12guys who come
00:52:13off the bench
00:52:13made impact
00:52:14and changed the game
00:52:16that's what a bench
00:52:17is for
00:52:17that's what it's
00:52:18supposed to do
00:52:18with a substitute
00:52:19and it just
00:52:20breathed into
00:52:21the competition
00:52:23that's in the team
00:52:25well a pleasing
00:52:26afternoon
00:52:26in the early
00:52:28evening sunshine
00:52:28at Celtic Park
00:52:30the champions
00:52:31putting down
00:52:32a marker
00:52:33this weekend
00:52:33they go joint
00:52:34top of the table
00:52:35two goals
00:52:36from Dyson Maida
00:52:37one from Kieran Tierney
00:52:38as we head back
00:52:39to the studio
00:52:40to Gerry and Peter
00:52:41finishes here
00:52:41at Celtic Park
00:52:42Celtic 3
00:52:44Falkirk 1
00:52:46thanks very much
00:52:47to Paul
00:52:47and to Cillian
00:52:48Sheridan
00:52:48Celtic
00:52:49back to their
00:52:49very best
00:52:50this afternoon
00:52:51Dyson Maida
00:52:52the man
00:52:53grabbing the
00:52:53headlines
00:52:54with the two
00:52:55goals
00:52:55and an outstanding
00:52:56performance
00:52:57the supporters
00:52:57enjoyed that
00:52:59they played their
00:52:59part this afternoon
00:53:00in the sunshine
00:53:01at Celtic Park
00:53:02and for a sixth
00:53:03successive season
00:53:04Celtic have got
00:53:06three points
00:53:06in the first game
00:53:07after the
00:53:08Premiership split
00:53:09it's exactly
00:53:10the start to the
00:53:11post-split
00:53:12fixtures that Celtic
00:53:13wanted
00:53:14and it means
00:53:15that there's been
00:53:16a change to the
00:53:17league table
00:53:18but Celtic were
00:53:19pretty dominant
00:53:19in that game
00:53:20Falkirk didn't
00:53:21make it too easy
00:53:22for Celtic
00:53:23and they had
00:53:23their own chances
00:53:24as well
00:53:24in that match
00:53:25in that second half
00:53:26especially in the
00:53:27first period of the
00:53:28second half
00:53:29we did speak at
00:53:30half time
00:53:31about how sometimes
00:53:31that can be a
00:53:32difficult period
00:53:32for Celtic
00:53:33looked like Falkirk
00:53:34were coming back
00:53:35into it
00:53:35especially after
00:53:36they got that goal
00:53:38but that man there
00:53:38Dyson Maida
00:53:39watched his second
00:53:40of the afternoon
00:53:41to put it beyond
00:53:42any doubt
00:53:43and send these
00:53:44supporters
00:53:44into raptures
00:53:46when they do
00:53:46finally decide to
00:53:47leave Celtic Park
00:53:48and head home
00:53:50so the stats will
00:53:51show that Celtic
00:53:52win this match
00:53:533-1
00:53:54and Peter Grant
00:53:56that's all you
00:53:57really need to know
00:53:58that's all you need to know
00:53:59that's it
00:53:59three points up the road
00:54:00that's it
00:54:01but listen
00:54:02Falkirk made it
00:54:03always kept in the game
00:54:04Celtic didn't start
00:54:05the second half
00:54:06particularly well
00:54:07who spoke about it
00:54:08at half time
00:54:09and said that
00:54:10where's that energy
00:54:11going to come from
00:54:12and it was brilliant
00:54:13because when it went
00:54:14to 2-1
00:54:16then just late in the game
00:54:17Falkirk had a few
00:54:17set plays
00:54:18and you think
00:54:18we're not going to
00:54:19throw it away
00:54:19are we
00:54:20and sure as fate
00:54:21Dyson Maida
00:54:22man of the match
00:54:23deservedly so
00:54:23but the biggest thing
00:54:24out of that team
00:54:25was Tenecchi
00:54:26going on the outside
00:54:27and putting a cross in
00:54:28with his right foot
00:54:28playing on the right hand side
00:54:29Celtic move up to
00:54:31level on points
00:54:32with Hearts
00:54:32still behind them
00:54:33on goal difference
00:54:34Hearts of course
00:54:34play the Edinburgh Derby
00:54:36tomorrow
00:54:37but Celtic playing first
00:54:38Martin O'Neill says
00:54:39it's good when you play first
00:54:40but only if you win the game
00:54:42and that's exactly
00:54:43what Celtic did
00:54:44this afternoon
00:54:44putting the pressure
00:54:45on the other two teams
00:54:47who have got designs
00:54:48on Celtic's title
00:54:50Celtic move up
00:54:50to 70 points
00:54:52into second place
00:54:53a point ahead
00:54:54of Rangers
00:54:55so it was
00:54:56pretty convincing
00:54:57in the end
00:54:59and an afternoon
00:55:00in the sunshine
00:55:01that these players
00:55:03gave the supporters
00:55:03what they wanted
00:55:04Martin O'Neill
00:55:05has been speaking
00:55:05this week
00:55:06about trying
00:55:07to encourage
00:55:07his players
00:55:08to play with freedom
00:55:09when maybe
00:55:10it could be a bit
00:55:11more natural
00:55:11to feel nervous
00:55:12did you feel
00:55:13there were more periods
00:55:14in that game
00:55:15that Celtic played
00:55:15with freedom
00:55:16yeah I thought
00:55:16the first half
00:55:17there was
00:55:17I mean we had
00:55:18some shaky moments
00:55:19I just thought
00:55:20the two wide men
00:55:21couldn't get into the game
00:55:21quick enough
00:55:22and Mada was on fire
00:55:23himself really
00:55:24he was working
00:55:25the back line
00:55:25himself
00:55:25but once they
00:55:26get pushed
00:55:27further up the pitch
00:55:27they get closer
00:55:29to the game
00:55:29I thought we could
00:55:29have been more comfortable
00:55:30didn't take the chances
00:55:31didn't really create
00:55:32little enough
00:55:33and then you think
00:55:34continue now
00:55:34with the energy
00:55:35of the support
00:55:35but it was fantastic
00:55:37to see and keep going
00:55:38let's go down
00:55:39to the tunnel area
00:55:40we can speak to
00:55:41our goal scorers
00:55:42this afternoon
00:55:42with John
00:55:43it's Kieran Tierney
00:55:44and Dyson Maeda
00:55:46Kieran it's a fantastic
00:55:48three points
00:55:49can you give me a reaction
00:55:50to the performance today
00:55:51I thought it was good
00:55:53I thought our pressing
00:55:54was good
00:55:54the first half
00:55:55was a bit frantic
00:55:56for our liking
00:55:57a bit side to side
00:55:59but we were
00:55:59two not up at half time
00:56:00and we tried to control
00:56:01the game better
00:56:02in the second half
00:56:02they came out
00:56:03it was a good goal
00:56:03they got
00:56:05but this guy's on fire
00:56:06now
00:56:06he's unstoppable
00:56:07there's no clear
00:56:08like him
00:56:08and when he's playing
00:56:09like that
00:56:09it lifts the full team
00:56:11we're talking about
00:56:11great goals
00:56:13have you scored
00:56:13a better strike
00:56:14than that at Celtic Park
00:56:16I think you may have
00:56:17done wonderful
00:56:19but now just happy
00:56:20to get the goal
00:56:21and I think
00:56:21the second goal
00:56:21is always crucial
00:56:22came right before
00:56:23half time as well
00:56:24settled everyone
00:56:24a bit
00:56:25so now delighted
00:56:26for it
00:56:26Dyson
00:56:27I'll turn to you
00:56:28fantastic performance
00:56:29again
00:56:30are you now
00:56:30feeling at your best
00:56:33I think it's a good
00:56:34but I think it's a good
00:56:35I think it's a good
00:56:36I think it's a good
00:56:38I think it's a good
00:56:38I think it's a good
00:56:38good
00:56:38I think it's a good
00:56:39I think it's a good
00:56:41I think it's a good
00:56:43well still I think
00:56:44individually
00:56:45collectively we're still
00:56:47have a space to improve
00:56:49so I'll try my best to say
00:56:51I'll try my best to say
00:56:52how much inspiration do you get
00:56:56from that Celtic support this afternoon
00:56:58Today, there are a lot of supporters, but how do you get the support from them?
00:57:04Every time, I've received a lot of support, but I've always had a lot of fun.
00:57:08So, I'd like to give them all the time.
00:57:12Yeah, every time, the support was helping us, but personally, I wasn't performing well, and then give them back.
00:57:19So, last four games, I will try my best to give them back everything.
00:57:22Kiyan, is it going to take five more performances like that this season?
00:57:27Aye, we need to be at our best. We know what's at stake, and we know what we need to
00:57:30do.
00:57:31The crowd today were brilliant. We've seen before the game as well, the effort they put in to see us
00:57:36off the bus.
00:57:36So, we're very grateful for that, and we're going to need them here in the run-in.
00:57:39Well done to both of you this afternoon.
00:57:41Cheers.
00:57:42Yeah, well done to Kieran, well done to Dyson, and well done to John Ledworth, especially for those Japanese translations.
00:57:48That was really well done, John. I didn't know he had it in him.
00:57:51Kieran Tierney and Dyson Maeda, Celtics goal scorers this afternoon, really important.
00:57:55Peter, let's look back then at the best of the action, the best of the goals.
00:58:00Dyson Maeda are his absolute pressing best and finishing best.
00:58:04Absolutely, and we said that he's only five yards off the player, the player takes that touch, but it is
00:58:08a wonderful finish.
00:58:09As I say, he's still got a lot to do, because you don't get much time to think because the
00:58:13keeper can be back in position.
00:58:14And as I said to you...
00:58:15Was he a bit slow getting down to this, the keeper?
00:58:17No, I think where the keeper's coming from, he'd made an angle. I think that was the biggest thing. He'd
00:58:21went to the side to get the angle.
00:58:23You can see there in the photo there, all of a sudden he's got to adjust. Now he's got to
00:58:27think, I'll go and get myself set.
00:58:29But Dyson doesn't give him that time, and that's why it's a great finish.
00:58:32Because nine times out of ten, Dyson may be taking an extra touch, but this time he doesn't, and he
00:58:36places it perfectly.
00:58:37And listen, for his effort in the first half, and his commitment in that first half, and what he was
00:58:42doing for the first moment.
00:58:43He'd done it last week, as you said, in the first moment, getting his rewards.
00:58:46And when he plays like that, and plays with that energy, and I think the team help him when they
00:58:51play further up the pitch.
00:58:52And that helps Dyson be at his best.
00:58:54And Ciarán Tierney saying in the interview that when Dyson plays like that, it lifts the whole team, and he's
00:58:59got that in him.
00:59:00John asking Ciarán Tierney if he'd scored a better goal at Celtic Park than quickly remembering the one he scored
00:59:05from about 40 yards against Colt Marlott.
00:59:07But it was an unbelievable finish from Ciarán, wasn't it? But praise to Dyson again for the work.
00:59:13Yeah, but the team's closer to the ball, they win the ball back quickly, and I think this team's at
00:59:17the best when they do that.
00:59:18But then Ciarán's first touch sets him up, because it's on his left foot. If it comes inside a little
00:59:22bit, he can't hit it on his next touch.
00:59:24So his touch ends up being perfect, really. So it's on his stronger left foot.
00:59:28And by God, he lashes it right in and off the underside of the barn. It was a fantastic feeling
00:59:31for us all.
00:59:32I know how Ciarán must feel about it, but it was a fantastic feeling for us all.
00:59:35Because I thought it was such a vital goal, a vital moment in the game, because you get it 1
00:59:40-0, you're still a little bit edgy,
00:59:41and you knew Falker were never out of it, but it was a fantastic strike, as I say, and richly
00:59:46deserved.
00:59:46But it was all down to, as you say, the energy, the support had given the players.
00:59:50Dyson made a pressing with the support, obviously giving everybody a lift.
00:59:54And you could hear them, they were desperate for the boys to do well, and they got their just reward
00:59:57just before halftime
00:59:58with a wonderful finish.
00:59:59I mentioned at halftime the similarities between this game and the St Mirren game.
01:00:04You know, Dyson getting a goal with his pressing, then a full-back slamming one in under the crossbar,
01:00:09off the crossbar before halftime.
01:00:11But Celtic needed to build on that in the second half.
01:00:14And again, that's in a 15-20 minute period of the second half.
01:00:18Celtic struggled to really capitalise on it.
01:00:21Falkirk then getting this goal back that really got everyone a little bit nervous.
01:00:25But credit to the strike, this is an unbelievable finish.
01:00:27Yeah, it was, but what I'm saying is Falkirk were, as you said, they were always in the game,
01:00:31but when you see Wilson coming on, he's very quick.
01:00:34And I've been very impressed every time I've seen a match.
01:00:36I think he's going from Swansea.
01:00:38But he'll not score many a better goal.
01:00:40But it's a great pass here as well.
01:00:42You can see he runs in and you think, oh, he's off.
01:00:44But he's got the other side of Ciaran.
01:00:46And I think at that time they were talking about taking Ciaran off.
01:00:49And as you can see, because it was a better pace it went on.
01:00:51Wilson's up there.
01:00:52But he's in that position as a wide player.
01:00:54But wow, what a fantastic strike.
01:00:56And then it becomes nervous.
01:00:57There's no doubt of that.
01:00:59Because, I said it earlier, I didn't think Falkirk were out of the game.
01:01:03Then when they scored the goal, you know, we could be running a game here.
01:01:06Don't give silly set plays away.
01:01:07So we didn't do that.
01:01:10Then we gained it back again.
01:01:11I think that was the important thing.
01:01:12There were a couple of changes.
01:01:13Well, that's the thing.
01:01:14Martin made the changes.
01:01:15He brought James Forrest off.
01:01:18Tonecki came on.
01:01:19Which meant that Yang had to go to the left wing.
01:01:21Tonecki then goes out wide right.
01:01:23Now he has said in the past that he doesn't like playing wide on the right.
01:01:26Which naturally you would think for a right footer means he can go to the byline and hit crosses.
01:01:30Maybe he doesn't feel as comfortable doing that.
01:01:33But it's certainly part of the game that he's developed now.
01:01:35Because it was such a pivotal cross from him that led to Dyson's second goal.
01:01:39Well, Celtic have always had wonderful right wingers.
01:01:41And I think that's important.
01:01:42But for me, this is...
01:01:44The last time he played in the right wing, I think he set up about four chances.
01:01:46This is the next time.
01:01:47It's not a brilliant cross.
01:01:49But it's in the box.
01:01:51Dyson made it again what I said prior to the match.
01:01:53You need strikers in the box who can score off the first touch.
01:01:56And he actually was at the front post making that wee bit of movement.
01:01:59It's behind him.
01:02:00But Dyson reacts fantastically well.
01:02:02But as you say, it's not a brilliant ball for Tonecki.
01:02:03But I bet you the more supporters were delighted at the fact he went on the outside and tried to
01:02:08put the ball into a dangerous area.
01:02:09And to be fair, sometimes if you hit it close to the keeper, it's an easy take for the keeper.
01:02:12He's cut it back into space.
01:02:13But I also think putting a cross in the box.
01:02:15If you look back at the amount of goals Celtic have scored for the crosses, that's why it still dumbfounds
01:02:20me with a lot of people playing opposite footers and opposite wings.
01:02:23Yeah.
01:02:24Because especially teams playing against Celtic play so narrow.
01:02:27You know, I think that's the biggest thing.
01:02:28So they're predominantly all inside the pitch.
01:02:30Then you've got full backs running inside.
01:02:32So where's the winger going to go?
01:02:33I love it.
01:02:34James Forrest proved it last week.
01:02:35Going on the outside.
01:02:36Tonecki's proved it today again.
01:02:38And we get goals from it.
01:02:39So, fantastic.
01:02:40Dyson Maeda.
01:02:41It was all about him this afternoon.
01:02:42And not really just about his goals.
01:02:44There were other moments as well that showed that Dyson was back to the player that we maybe saw last
01:02:51season and maybe has been not apparent for a lot of this campaign.
01:02:56But you see on that particular one, James Forreston is a brilliant position so it allows Dyson to go and
01:03:00press.
01:03:01You see on his goal here, he's only three and four yards away from the opponent very quickly.
01:03:06And that's when the team, I just think sometimes we play too deep and it allows the opposition.
01:03:11Dyson's at his best when he's near the opposition.
01:03:13If he can get four or five yards to get to him, there's nobody better probably in the game at
01:03:17doing it.
01:03:18It's when the teams get stretched and it's too big.
01:03:20See, the boy has his first touch.
01:03:21This was right at the start of the second half and you're thinking, oh, maybe they've learnt by that.
01:03:24But that's Dyson.
01:03:26He does ever so well and then rolls the ball out of the pitch.
01:03:28But then you can see here, he's away again after the goalkeeper.
01:03:32But look, now the midfielders are on top of it.
01:03:35This is, for me, this is when Celtic are at their best.
01:03:37You know, but it all started for Dyson.
01:03:39But the midfield being up behind him, allowing him to go and press the ball early.
01:03:43And as you say, he gets his rewards here again.
01:03:45You see his movement.
01:03:46He's never usually brilliant.
01:03:47We talk about his movement in the box.
01:03:48He doesn't move him like a natural striker.
01:03:50But you see he's in at the back post.
01:03:51But then he makes a move out of the way for the cutback.
01:03:53And he finishes it fantastically well off his first touch.
01:03:56Do you know what, as well, and, you know, I know, you know, players sometimes have their favourite teams to
01:04:01play against.
01:04:02We're playing Hibs at Easter Road next and Dyson Maeda does like a goal at Easter Road.
01:04:07Maybe he's...
01:04:07He was hoping.
01:04:08Exactly.
01:04:09Maybe he's getting his shooting boots on just at the right time.
01:04:12We're waiting for Martin O'Neill to come and speak to us, hopefully will, while we're still on air.
01:04:17So more chances to look at, though, that came Celtic's way, Peter.
01:04:21It could have been a lot more comfortable if Celtic had done more with these chances.
01:04:28This, to be fair to Anthony, was a great effort and a good save.
01:04:30The goalkeeper had some good saves.
01:04:32Yeah, but you see where the players are.
01:04:34They're all further up the pitch.
01:04:35They're not allowing Alcott to turn and have a pass.
01:04:38Celtic look at their weakest when they allow the opposition time on the ball.
01:04:42We were always told at Celtic Park, don't allow players to lift their head and play forward.
01:04:46There's too many times that happens.
01:04:48Yeah, that was Yang just getting an offside position there.
01:04:50Yeah, but yeah, again, it's a forward pass.
01:04:52It's a great turn.
01:04:54Callum pass it forward.
01:04:55Negrin's forward.
01:04:56So now the players are running forward.
01:04:57And as I say, this is nice.
01:04:59Any Celtic team look at their best.
01:05:01Because predominantly teams can't live with them when they play that way.
01:05:05And Callum, Kieran touched on it a little bit.
01:05:07He said we're probably a little bit sloppy being square-passing.
01:05:09Too many square passes or whatever in the first half or whatever.
01:05:12In the first half, yeah.
01:05:13You know, so I agree with that.
01:05:14Because I think this team look much better because of the personnel you have.
01:05:18It suits Dyson made to be running face in opposition with an early pass.
01:05:21It's when he's got to make the double movements, he ends up getting caught offside.
01:05:25Same with Yang, you know.
01:05:26And just be more positive.
01:05:27That was a fantastic save.
01:05:28And Dyson was very unlucky with that as well.
01:05:30His reaction to it.
01:05:31So, you've got to say it's a positive afternoon.
01:05:34You've won the game, which is the most important thing.
01:05:36I know we love more goals.
01:05:37But the positive thing, you've got three points in the bag and that's the most important thing.
01:05:40And it was important going into this one that the good feeling and the momentum that Celtic
01:05:44had built up from that extra time period that got them four goals against St Mirren
01:05:50was something that we saw this afternoon.
01:05:52So now Celtic need to, again, keep that momentum going.
01:05:56There's no game midweek.
01:05:57Back to the training pitch again.
01:05:58But they need to keep that momentum going.
01:06:00Hopefully, we get a little bit of a favour tomorrow, but we're not expecting to get
01:06:03any favours tomorrow.
01:06:05I know you won't be interested in the slightest in either of the games that's on tomorrow,
01:06:09Peter.
01:06:09I know that.
01:06:11I'll phone you Monday and let you know who wins.
01:06:14But it's all about keeping that momentum going, isn't it?
01:06:16Of course it is.
01:06:17But listen, I've got to give the supporters great credit as well, because I thought the
01:06:20fact that from last week they responded to the players on the pitch winning the game
01:06:246-2.
01:06:24We know it wasn't a 6-2 game.
01:06:26Then before the match today, they're right behind the team.
01:06:28The players could feel it.
01:06:29We could feel it in here.
01:06:30Walk on before the game was brilliant.
01:06:32You know, so the players, and I say if they start fast, they start quick.
01:06:35Dyson made it wild.
01:06:36It seemed to spark him.
01:06:38And that's what you need.
01:06:39And that's how important everybody is.
01:06:40And even when it went to 2-1 and it was a bit edgy, the supporters went again and kept
01:06:45going.
01:06:45And that's great credit to them.
01:06:47And the players responded again and got the third goal.
01:06:49And that's where it's going to take that energy and that collectiveness together in here
01:06:55and away from home when you've not got as many supporters.
01:06:57But you've got to show that same energy.
01:06:59That's what's expected of you.
01:07:00And that's the only way you won the league.
01:07:02If you show the energy and play on the front foot, don't be frightened of it.
01:07:05But that was the one thing I go back to Davey here again.
01:07:07Don't be frightened of the challenge.
01:07:09It was eight games you had to go the last time.
01:07:11That's what we had to do.
01:07:12We knew the challenge.
01:07:13It's one game at a time, but you knew the eight challenges.
01:07:15And you had to go and take them on.
01:07:16Not be frightened of them.
01:07:18Yeah, I wonder if that spirit of 86 is well and truly back.
01:07:21Let's hope so, because we all remember how that one turned out.
01:07:24Thanks very much for your company this afternoon.
01:07:26Thanks to Peter.
01:07:27Thanks to Paul and to Killian on commentary.
01:07:30Next up for us, of course, Celtic are away to Hibs next Sunday.
01:07:33It's a game that you can see live here on Celtic TV if you're outside the UK and Ireland.
01:07:38In the meantime, after a 3-1 victory, put Celtic joint top on 70 points.
01:07:43It's a good afternoon from here at Celtic Park.
01:07:46Thanks for watching and we'll see you again soon. Bye-bye.
01:08:30Bye-bye.
01:08:33Bye-bye.
01:08:34Bye-bye.
01:08:35Bye-bye.
01:08:48Bye-bye.
01:08:51Bye-bye.
01:08:53You
