00:00Steve Albert all right, thank you very much Bobby
00:02Little controversy brewing there in the McClellan camp involving the trainer Emanuel Stewart
00:06All right, coming up next here at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas our main event Juan Koji
00:12Defends his WBA junior welterweight crown against Edgar González
00:16And let's go backstage into the dressing room of Argentinian Juan Koji, a two-time WBA junior welterweight champion
00:24He's winning the title for the second time Koji has defended it five times and most recently
00:29He earned a controversial TKO victory over Edgar González back in December
00:34Now the WBA ordered an immediate rematch
00:37Let's review the faithful events of December 18th that caused tonight's bout
00:42On December 17, 1993 in Tucumán, Argentina
00:54Number five-ranked Eder González met WBA junior welterweight champion
00:58And Argentina's most beloved hero Juan Koji
01:01In notably one of the most controversial title fights of the year
01:04The controversy began midway through the second round
01:10The first time he was in the first round of the year
01:15González landed a big right hook to Koji's fist
01:18He lost his legs and fell to the cancer
01:20Somehow Koji managed to stand up and make it to the rope
01:28The rest counted slowly, giving Koji time to recover
01:33González came right back at him, throwing combos to the body and hair
01:37The referee stepped in apparently to stop the fight
01:48While Koji staggered along the rope, barely able to stand
01:52González celebrated 50-1, but the ref hadn't stopped the fight
01:57He simply put it on hold for 30 seconds
02:01Koji's trainer continued to hold him up in the corner
02:13Even after the referee allowed the fight to continue
02:16Unbelievable, there were 20 seconds remaining on the clock
02:21When the referee stepped in front of the hometown hero Koji
02:24And stopped the round, again allowing Koji to recover
02:27By the seventh round, the champion Koji had recovered enough to begin an attack
02:35Which would finally end the fight
02:37The fern Jonathan Bland and one-to-figure
02:45He has been the one-to-figure
02:46He's been able to run over the race
02:47He's been able to run the fight
02:50The champion is the champion and he's been able to run a lot of those
02:52You know, have been able to run the fight
02:54He's been able to run a long way
02:56He's been able to run the fight
02:57And he's been able to run the fight
02:58For an hour, the champion is a great fit
03:02He's been able to run the fight
03:04Koji's training in front of his road
03:06...were short-lived as the fight quickly created worldwide controversy.
03:11Now, three months later, in a neutral site, Juan Koji and Etter Gonzalez will fight again.
03:24That was an incredible scene for the stage he set for the rematch between Juan Koji and Etter Gonzalez.
03:30Tonight, we seek the answers to these two questions.
03:33But did some questionable officiating save Koji from losing his title
03:37and is the two-time champion as good as his impressive record.
03:42Juan Koji, one of those fighters who is highly respected in the boxing community,
03:46yet little known here in the United States.
03:48Freddie, is this the kind of fight that will prove just how good Juan Koji is?
03:52I think it does prove how good he is. He's already accepted off his record.
03:56That was the most remarkable fight.
03:58I don't think I've ever seen anything as crazy as that.
04:02In all the years I've been in boxing, and I think Koji needs to wipe the slate clean,
04:06come out here, and look good against Gonzalez if he can.
04:09Gonzalez should very well come out here and clean his clock like he did that first round,
04:13and he should have been the champion.
04:14So this is a must fight for both of them,
04:17and it's only fair that they came right back and had to fight,
04:20because in any way you look at it, Gonzalez got jobbed out of his title.
04:25In fact, the referee was banned for life.
04:27Bobby, how will Eder Gonzalez fight the rematch,
04:29considering he almost stopped Koji in the first fight?
04:32Well, after watching what we just saw,
04:33I think it's obvious that Koji was given a gift.
04:36He's going to have to watch that big right hand.
04:38Gonzalez is going to be looking to throw it.
04:40That's how he got him in trouble.
04:41That's how he hurt him.
04:41That's how he practically killed him in the next corner.
04:43But what he has to do is not unload all those punches so heavy.
04:46What he probably did was punch himself out a little bit,
04:48and as the fight wore on, Koji, he gained himself.
04:51He beat him to the punch with combinations.
04:52He's got to watch himself, pace himself,
04:54so that late in the fight he can still unload the bomb.
04:56Koji, a 3.5 to 1 favorite instantly.
04:58What will the effect be on Gonzalez arriving late yesterday
05:01because he had some visa problems?
05:03He had to fly through several time zones.
05:05I don't know if his biological clock can ever get back together
05:07in such a short time.
05:09The amount of jet lag that is attributable to those long trips,
05:12his body may not be able to get back on track to where he strained it.
05:15I would never do it.
05:16But hopefully for him, he'll have no problems.
05:18He'll have no problems.
05:19He'll be bright and perky and ready to fly.
05:22This is not the type of thing that I would take a chance with, though.
05:24I think it could be really detrimental.
05:26All right.
05:26We'll just put you next to 30 on the plane when you have a long flight like that.
05:29You'll never sleep.
05:30Let's take our first look at the challenge here.
05:3329-year-old Edder Gonzalez of Columbia, South America.
05:36Only kidding.
05:37Gonzalez, 22-4-1 with 15 knockouts.
05:40His second world title shot coming within seconds of becoming a world champion
05:44about three months ago against Juan Koji.
05:46Tonight, Gonzalez gets his chance for revenge.
05:49grandchildren of that.
05:51And they're still not a garden.
05:52He'll be right back.
05:55Next time, Solomon has a wonderful problem.
05:57And they're spending my life espquier than Sag Just says.
05:59Let us know about four times of first time.

13:48To welcome the challenger, Eder Gonzalez

14:02Fighting out of the red corner in this rematch main event
14:05He is wearing white trunks with light blue trim
14:08And fighting out of Branson, Argentina
14:11He weighed in the same weight of an even 140 pounds
14:15And his outstanding veteran record includes 65 wins
14:19Only 2 losses, 2 draws
14:22With 40 big wins coming by way of knockout
14:25Tonight, making his 10th defensiveest title
14:28Please welcome the two-time WBA junior welterweight champion of the world
14:32Introducing Juan Martin Cochi
14:41Once again, here's your referee in charge
14:43Now to give instructions, Richard Steele
14:48Okay, let's go
14:58Okay, I spoke to both fighters in the dressing room
15:00I'm cautioning them again
15:01Obey my commands at all times
15:03Shake hands, good luck
15:09The thing that immediately comes to mind
15:10How fitting, coming up
15:11The controversial first fight
15:13Between Cochi and Gonzalez
15:14That Richard Steele
15:16Would be the third man of the ring
15:17Controversy
15:18Always seems to follow Steele around
15:20Here's Eder Gonzalez
15:21Who employs a counter puncher style
15:23As you look at the
15:24The man with hands on hips
15:26The referee, Richard Steele
15:28Gonzalez, best weapon
15:29The overhand right
15:30Cochi, a southpaw
15:31Describes himself as a puncher with maturity
15:33Feels his best weapon is the combination
15:36He says he does not remember anything
15:38About that second round of the first fight
15:40With Gonzalez
15:41But he did admit Eder's a hard puncher
15:43He's dangerous
15:44I cannot repeat the same mistakes
15:47I gotta be more careful
15:48Cochi admitted he was hurt by Gonzalez
15:50And will approach him with caution
15:54Well right now they seem to be showing each other
15:55An awful lot of respect
15:57Giving each other a little distance
15:58No one wants to get too close just yet
16:00But I'm sure this will heat up
16:01If it's anything like what that first fight was
16:03And as we see time after time
16:05With left handers
16:06Their feet are getting very close together
16:07And these two
16:08Thin but rangy guys
16:10And they'll be tangling feet
16:11Before this is all over
16:12And the word
16:13He didn't remember being hurt
16:15Is an understatement
16:16He wasn't hurt, he was unconscious
16:17I mean he didn't know where he was
16:19He was being held up
16:21By his trainer in the corner
16:23That was just purely a savagery
16:26See how the legs got tangled up this thing
16:28I heard that the referee for that fight
16:30Was banged for life
16:31Yes we imagine that
16:32And look at this
16:33Holding and hitting
16:34Tremendous action though
16:35He's holding and hitting
16:36Tremendous action though
16:37He's holding and hitting
16:38He's holding on the back of the head
16:40And still said nothing
16:42Juan Koji getting away with murder
16:45Here we go again boys
16:46We haven't even started already
16:48There was a little outrage there
16:51Another story
16:52The visa problems
16:53Gonzalez coming in from
16:54Madrid, Spain
16:55Arriving in Las Vegas
16:56Last night at 9
16:58He was in the air
16:5920 hours or so
17:00He weighed in at 10pm
17:02And had to take a blood test after that
17:04He didn't get in bed till 12.30
17:06He told me
17:07I just went back to see him in the dressing room
17:08He looked like he was sleeping in the dressing room
17:10For a split second just a minute ago
17:11Gonzalez switched to software
17:12Didn't throw any punches
17:13And went right back to being orthodox
17:15This is going to be a wild one I think
17:17That was that right hand
17:18That same wild right hand that he threw
17:21Oh!
17:22Down goes Koji!
17:27Koji's not going to speed under him Steve
17:29He's looking to his corner for a little advice
17:31But he's not out as badly as he was last time
17:33No, but he's not
17:34He's not ready
17:35He's been rocked
17:36He has been rocked
17:37He's right for a knockout
17:38He's got 50 seconds to survive round one
17:42And that was that same looping right hand that got him in trouble before
17:46Gonzalez looking for justice
17:50Gonzalez can't do here
17:51What he did in the first fight
17:52Now he's punched himself out
17:53Trying to get the champion out
17:55And right now it looks like
17:56Koji's got his feet under him a little better
17:58His eyes look clear
17:59This fight's going to last through this round
18:01I think right now
18:02Gonzalez who has to be fatigued
18:05Exhausted after that long flight
18:07Madrid nine hours ahead of Las Vegas
18:09But he says he's in great shape
18:14And obviously, at least psychologically
18:16Extremely upset and angry
18:18And he might be just going on sheer adrenaline here
18:21He's a big right hand
18:22And that's going to be key for this fight
18:24Well that went through seven time zones alone to get there
18:27That's a long right hand
18:28And a butt
18:29And a butt
18:30And a butt
18:31Wild first round
18:33All right, here's a knock down
18:34And here's that long, long right hand that got him in trouble in the first fight
18:46There it is again, right on the butt
18:48In the corner, they're saying don't stand striped
18:50Straight up
18:51You're standing straight up
18:52Walk to his right
18:53Walk to his right
18:54And Koji's saying I'm all right
18:55I feel all right
18:56He just caught me
18:57Now we'll see the headbutt right before he ended the round
18:58They kind of just ran into each other
18:59Bang, right in the mouth
19:00Not a bad area for either fighter
19:01Top of the head for one mouth for the other
19:02Not something that should be able to do
19:03To be able to do
19:04To be able to do
19:05Yeah, he's got to try
19:06He's got to try
19:07Yeah, he's got to try
19:08He's got to try
19:09You're right
19:10You're right
19:11I guess he's got to try
19:12A butt
19:14Right before he ended the round
19:15They kind of just ran into each other
19:16Bang, right in the mouth
19:18Not a bad area for either fighter
19:19Top of the head for one mouth for the other
19:20Not something that should be a factor
19:22Yeah, except that that goes to the eye
19:24He's got to play
19:25Koji's gonna come out bleeding
19:26Koji took seven bouts in 93
19:27The toughest of the seven
19:30With Colombian born Gonzales
19:32Louis Spottor his advisor says
19:33says Koji was lucky well cuz I was really looking to set the record
19:39straight
19:41but a grazing low and Koji comes right back
19:44you'll wonder what would happen if the man came back with a left hook and
19:50threw a combination it's incredible how it just counts on that one shot
19:54but again Koji is fighting and it's incredible hot lands all the time it
19:58seems like such a sloppy punch you should be able to block it yet he's getting hit with it Koji
20:03it's getting hit by that right hand Koji knocked down flat on his back it was a
20:08flash knocked down almost a minute left in the first round this is round two
20:11scheduled for 12 the WBA junior one away championship
20:17their legs handling up almost in every encounter that they come in
20:21fighting the southpaw is always a lot of trouble for orthodox fighters we're not used to seeing them too often
20:26they're used to training with orthodox fighters all the time so it's not as
20:29difficult for them to do the job oh boy this is really hard fighting I mean
20:34Gonzalez wants revenge this guy's throwing bombs in the body and Koji's
20:38throwing as hard as he can every time you get too close it's a nice body shot right
20:42there by Koji Gonzalez tried to rip an uppercut and I believe in the first fight
20:46was the uppercut it started all the problems for him but it nonetheless it was the
20:49right hand Koji 69 fights in a world champion on and off since 1987 he's 32 he's
20:58almost exclusively in his home country
21:02Koji looks perplexed by the style right hand by Gonzalez you would think that Koji would
21:08probably just try and key that right hand so much more but he's getting in one after another
21:14Koji is rocked again
21:17it's almost as if he doesn't know how to put his glove up
21:20good right hand by Gonzalez pushing Koji back
21:22I got news for you this right hand is going through right through a couple of those gloves
21:26Koji just looks confused and perplexed
21:29and Gonzalez just keeps pressing the attack Koji certainly an April champion and somebody's
21:35got a lot of experience especially in distance fights he knows he's got a lot of time here to
21:39come back and Gonzalez doesn't be careful he may punch himself up because he has so much power in each
21:44shot in the events entirely well he may lose his title for the second time combination by Koji but
21:52not much effect on the challenger plus we'll have to see the effect of going through all those time zones
21:57as we know that's a very debilitating thing and we maybe have they've sent him out to do
22:02everything he can in the early rounds knowing he's going to fade in the last one
22:05yeah the longer this fight goes the advantage grows oh for Koji but that's a slip
22:12no he just got tangled up and he just kind of shoved them off yeah their feet are just getting tangled
22:16all the way i mean it's just a mess here because they're so long a legged both of them
22:22final seconds of round two
22:23Koji can only hope that gonzalez has spent himself physically
22:46in agreement that he's got to hold his hand up they're all saying hold your head up don't get
22:55hit by the right hand here's the sequence that we see this right hand fighting home there it is
22:59it's right there and all night long the right hand is landing it's no secret he's going to throw it he's
23:05going to look for that right hand boom he keeps trying to push it out there that's what he's looking
23:08to get home now we'll see a slip that is purely that it's actually more of a push yeah this is
23:15just look at his legs see the legs yeah kind of just pushed him off a little tangled up nothing major
23:22safe on first base all right that what the last thing they told uh koji is don't forget the jab you're
23:28letting this guy come in without jabbing him so let's see if he picks up the jab and holds up his
23:32hands so he doesn't get that right hand come looking forward strange strange punch but boy what damage
23:40he's done today round three koji knocked down with almost a minute to go in the first round got up
23:48quickly though gonzalez still having his way in again again another kind of right hand he's looking to
23:54keep that right hand it certainly got the champion's attention oh anytime he throws it it's just like
24:01those three complete misses it looks like people get tired from throwing koji again holding it
24:05and still there you go that's the butt that was going to cut his eye and it's tight there it is a lot of
24:11blood over the left eye now of juan koji the champion that was that right hand that he counted with and
24:16he pinched his eye sometimes you pinch the eyelid against your bone boom it busted open now he said if one of
24:22them is going to get cuts going to be coaches the way their button is and the way he's getting hit by
24:25right hand and koji with a real sense of oh he's got out and gonzalez is right with that left uppercut
24:32staggered couldn't get his feet under him and koji hesitated for a second and here again he got that
24:36holding and hitting that interesting tactic and koji going in looking for a finish here oh big left hand
24:43that cut is bad too he's got a minute and a half to maybe save his china he's got enough time that's
24:55enough time because gonzalez is on queer street he doesn't really know where he's at he's getting hit
25:02he's just winding up now koji and going for the kill right hand that's staggered gonzalez who's in
25:10trouble just up against the ropes down he goes again and the towel gets thrown in from the gonzalez
25:17corner richard steel meanwhile disregarding it it sends koji to the neutral corner here's another
25:23confusion you cannot stop the fight with a towel this isn't argentina this can't happen but the
25:30referee is stopping and yes indeed it is and over as richard steel concurs with the gonzalez corner and
25:38koji retains his title you know you might think that they knew he only had a little bit of time
25:43the rest the jet lag and maybe a number of other things that factor in but they weren't going to
25:48even take a chance i think his corner should have let him try to last the round because the cut was
25:52terrible if he got himself back together could be champion this is in argentina it's the u.s and that
25:58towel has no significance and let me tell you you came very close to getting disqualified because koji's
26:03corner came in to dispute the towel if you come in the ring you're disqualified so therefore another one
26:08of those crazy nights with overheated tempers on the part of both corners and not using their head and
26:15letting the official take over fortunately richard steel took over and did the right thing so one koji
26:22with a dramatic sense of urgency after that terrible cut over the eye able to put gonzalez away
26:30round number three strong finish for the champion who retains his belt and now goes to 66 two and two
26:39with 40 knockouts i don't know about you guys but i had my field of controversy
26:43well it almost this this kid came in here so enraged he wanted to get his thing and almost did it
26:50with that big punch and then that continuous right hand gonzalez he just looked like he was in the zone
26:56where he was going to get his title that they stole from him and yet koji being the champion that he is
27:02fought back to adversity bobby that's adversity well i'll tell you i see him at 140 pounds if i'm taking julio
27:07season chavez against koji chavez goes through him in a big way juan koji who was put to the canvas
27:14with almost a minute remaining in the first round comes back in the third to put gonzalez away now was
27:21it a headbutt or a punch that caused the cut let's take a look at it in slow motion keep keep your hand on
27:27on the right hand that's right on the eye no question about it yep no question about it right eye pinched
27:33it pinched his skin right up against the eye bone and that's what caused it it was a good right hand
27:37it was the first punch he threw it around but like i said if he could have lasted that cut was looking
27:42very bad there was no butt there at all he wasn't anywhere close to being butted that was a pure right
27:46hand punch it was a right hand let's take a look at that first knockdown which came because of the
27:52sharp exchange underneath and he got in trouble with an uppercut then all of a sudden there then all of a
27:58sudden no that wasn't the one before that it was one before that that backed him up but he followed
28:03through with that rising left hand as well and maybe it was the uppercuts that started all this
28:07and he was not able to clear his head could be it just doesn't have a great chin recuperative powers
28:12or it could be a combination of that that jet lag in a terrible time zone now here's the second one
28:15by this time koji knows all he's got to do is press he's fresh the other guy's completely worn out and
28:21not even conscious he's just standing there all of this could have been avoided and a mark of
28:25inexperience gonzalez tries to fight backwards hurt you should just hold on hold on take a walk make
28:30the referee break him move hold on some more don't try and fight back out of pride or any other reason
28:35something that took me a long time to learn i i don't think he he was even conscious during all of
28:40that time i think he was out on his feet and he just couldn't do anything but accept the punches and
28:44koji hey is an experienced and very good champion well in an unusual display of sportsmanship they gave
28:52donzalez an immediate rematch but koji prevails let's get the official time from our ring announcer
28:58jimmy lennon jr ladies and gentlemen we have the time of two minutes one second and round number three
29:10the referee in charge richard steel stops the contest winner by way of technical knockout and still
29:17champion juan juan koji who comes a long way from branson argentina to retain his wba junior weatherway
29:39championship and lifting his record to 66 2 and 2 with 40 knockouts a dramatic victory
29:47over edder gonzalez rated number six by the wba who came all the way from terrible uh colombia
29:53and arrived here in las vegas uh just last night at around 9 p.m after a 20-hour flight
30:00although gonzalez put koji down to the campus late in the first round it was koji who turned the tables
30:07bobby and took care of business in round three well you know again we talk about it a lot that time
30:12zone the travel that last minute all the lack of rest he probably had we don't know what effect that
30:17had it appeared as if he was coming out for the knockout early maybe that was the reason maybe not
30:21either way you know he fought a valiant fight for as long as it went but koji again experience and he
30:26knew he'd catch up with gonzalez and did well you said he didn't remember anything about the second round
30:31of their first bout i think he'll remember the third round of their second bout i think so
30:36so here at the mgm grand in las vegas we are set for post fight interviews let's go up to the ring of
30:41the fight doctor ferdy pacheco all right uh koji insisting on giving a big hug to uh
30:51gonzalez here who fought a great fight
30:53i asked him if he was surprised to get that big right hand and a repeat of what was happening in
31:06argentina he said this guy is always surprising me always hurting me you creía que tenía el título
31:10he said he thought he was right there he's gonna do it but he knew koji can get strong and he knew he
31:29he can get back so he was trying to knock him out as hard as he could in the second round but koji came
31:37back and knocked him back and knocked him out
31:54and that's that's his manager said that's where you lost the fight as soon as koji saw the blood
32:03that's where you lost the fight because koji got in gear
32:05uh they have both of them nodded and said that was the right hand that's what cut me and his manager
32:12said yeah that's where the end of the fight started okay all right they're both looking at it
32:24be fit oh here we go he said the real punch was before that before he got in trouble and that's the
32:38one that put him in trouble yeah i said did you see that punch coming he said i saw it coming but i
32:53couldn't do anything about it and afterwards i didn't remember what was going on i asked him
33:12if he could remember that second day knockdown he said barely because coach is a great champion when
33:16he gets you in trouble he finishes big and he finished me off and i have no excuse for that he
33:20just did what he had to do i asked him did that cut spur him to this great action he said yeah it was
33:38going to be do or die because i wasn't going to let them stop the fight on a cut and i wasn't going to
33:42lose my championship on a cut so i had to finish him off and that's what he did he finished him off
33:47completely and uh both fighters with a big hug and affection and we go back to uh steve albert
33:53at ringside thank you very much uh ferdy well it didn't last long but it was memorable we're going
33:59to take uh another look at that last round the third round that ended it as juan koji knocks out
34:07edher gonzalez in the rematch and here it is bobby electrifying start electrifying finish it's going to
34:13be a long flight back for edder gonzalez but at least this time he'll have more time to reflect
34:19and sleep well he got his money's worth he got two shots at it uh obviously the first time it looked
34:25as if he was job they looked as if tremendous incompetence cost him a world championship and
34:30cost him a little piece of history and that's sad but today he came to do what he had to and the long
34:35trip could have been a fact we don't know he came out winning he looked to win this world championship
34:39and looked to do it early but again koji wanted to take him a little more time did what he had to
34:44do and here in the third round it was that right hand that uh inflicted the wound over the left eye
34:49you see uh juan koji trying to brush it away with his left glove and hear the sense of urgency you could
34:55you could really see it stirring up there's a left up cut coming a little while later on in the round
35:00and that's what starts it and basically is the beginning of the end somewhere in here there's an
35:08you know he's throwing there's the uppercut that doesn't he was throwing he's throwing but you know
35:12he kept holding him behind the head too when we said that which is still didn't mention that much
35:16not at all actually and that uppercut though was what started it coaching was not able to
35:20recuperate his resilience not what he needs to be for a champion now xavi's just squinting out of the
35:24right there's that left hand that that puts him on the canvas
35:31so with about a minute 40 to go gonzalez wobble staggered rock
35:39and you can see in his eyes he's not clear his feet aren't under him he is not strong he's not
35:44anything but in trouble and he won't hold on he's trying to swing back and you know that's admirable
35:49but not bright in this situation and there's a big right hook that just about does he
35:54falls forward trying to hold on the corner throws in the towel which we can't see just now
35:58but richard steel again he's the referee in the united states of nevada he gets to stop the fight
36:04and he's uh imploring koji to get into that neutral corner and that is it even though you can see
36:10gonzalez shaking his head affirmatively that he's okay but obviously he was not and with blood streaking
36:16from the eye of juan koji louis spotty's advisor and all of his handlers embrace the champion
36:25juan koji so a compelling stirring finish here at the mgm grand in las vegas steve albert back with
36:32bobby chez your final thoughts and comments we just saw that fight what about let's go back to terry
36:37norris and armando compass as norris was just tuning up for simon brown yeah we didn't really expect that
36:42armando compass was going to pose an incredible threat and he didn't but what we wanted to find
36:46out was would norris go crazy again early when he started to as soon as he landed one try and land
36:49them all at once and he didn't he boxed nice he got back in his little bopping rhythm that that little
36:53hoppy he does with the jab used his boxing skills didn't take an awful lot of punishment hardly any at
36:58all did what he had to do i thought four rounds and he proved me great is this the kind of fight that
37:03will give norris enough confidence to take on simon brown again he's a great fighter i think he has that
37:08confidence within him already he wants you know he's hungry for a little bit of revenge as opposed
37:13to letting simon brown repeat and this fight will just it'll add to you know what he has inside him
37:17already he's a confident fighter he's a good fighter but this is the way he wants to fight and i think
37:22that that is the important thing and uh koji getting off the canvas to beat gonzalez some redemption when
37:28everybody thought koji lost that first fight well he had to go off the canvas in the first fight too
37:32although he had so much help in the first fight that referee being banned for life he just it was a
37:36travesty what happened there here he had to go off the floor again he had to prove that championship
37:40hardy has he did the job all right he had to prove that championship hardy has he did the job all
37:46right exciting night let's uh take one final look at tonight's boxing doubleheader results in the first
37:52stop terry norris defeating armando compass by knocking him out in round number four and finally in the
37:58main event juan koji and enter gonzalez for the wba junior weatherweight championship in very very
38:05exciting fashion juan koji beating enter gonzalez with a tko in round number three they listed at
38:122-0-1 officially so here at the mgm grand garden in las vegas we go back to the fight doctor ferdy
38:17pacheco in the ring well and in a continuation of these exciting nights this was knockout night
38:21and if there's a knockout that uh can qualify as a night in itself it's going to be the night of may
38:287th because knockout is the word for that night it certainly is this is the most awesome card i've ever put
38:33together 30 in my 20 years of being the number one promoter this one far exceeds anything i've
38:38done because you have four world title fights where champions have been dethroned or drawed with
38:44that you have the opponents and now the champions going back at the champion so you have revenge
38:49it's a vendetta it's a night of boxing with hostility it's got a lot of enmity these guys are
38:55really coming out to fight and on may 7th you will see one of the most grandest cards you've ever seen
39:00and i certainly want all the fans in tv land you can't see it live at the living color right here
39:04at the mgm grand to check it out on king's vision sct on the screen because this is a night of boxing
39:09that is unique rare and wonderful i think it's a hallmark of this kind of night because i've never
39:15seen that in about the 30 years i've been around where four quality championships are going to be
39:21the studios we're not talking about easy fights here we're talking about the very best in the world
39:26fighting chavez azuma nelson carrie norris simon brown uh mcmillan the best mcclellan and julian
39:34jackson what you have is you have the two awesome punches in the boxing that's that's julian jackson
39:38and jerry mcclellan he took the title from julian jackson now julian wants his back he said that he
39:44just borrowed it mcclellan say i'm going to keep it so they're going to be at each other
39:47revenge a vendetta then you got julio cesar chavez he's never lost the first time he's ever been introduced
39:53to mr defeat and 91 times 89 times you sent out guys the other way one time a draw and one time a
39:58loser this has got to be vindicated all the people in metagoras are going to come from plane trains
40:03bus helicopter they're going to emulate by borough and horseback any way they can get here to be here
40:08at this fight to vindicate their champion under the spirit of emilio zapata in uh in uh in in
40:14poncho via so you're going to have a great fight there and then you have simon brown simple simon the
40:19little guy who's talking with a very high boy i just want to do the best i can well now he did
40:24the best he can before 50 000 fans in puerto mexico he devastated carrie north you've seen carrie
40:30north at his best tonight sharp cool discipline focused box and then took his men out with great
40:35combinations can he do that on may 7th that answer remains to be seen all the boxing fans and society
40:41fans all the movie stars will be here to see this great event this is the night of the stars
