00:00Today, nine months later, we celebrate a 76% decrease in homicides and violent crimes.
00:11So firstly, I want to tell those who are sitting here, thanks very much for your prayer,
00:17because all things are possible only through God and his intervention.
00:22Officer Cibero's comments came as he brought greetings at the Interfaith Service at the Ann Mitchell Auditorium at the Scarborough Library on Monday.
00:33He said the aim is towards a 100% decreasing crime in Tobago.
00:38When a place sees peace, it is flooded with tourists.
00:45And Tobago, being a little island by itself, needs tourism to succeed.
00:52So we want to push, and again with your continued support, to drive that 76% straight to 100%.
01:01And all things are possible.
01:04If we can take it, God says we can accomplish it.
01:09Tobago is second in terms of the detection rate in the country, with the Eastern Division placing first.
01:16Officer Cibero commended his lawmen for their commitment to duty.
01:20The officers of the Tobago Division, headed by Senior Superintendent Eli and his executive team,
01:29and to the last constables who came to Tobago, for that commitment that would have pushed this decrease.
01:37We had a successful weekend.
01:40Over 5,000 persons coming from Trinidad to visit Tobago to have an incident-free weekend that bought economics,
01:51that bought finance to the Tobago Division, to the Tobago economy.
01:56He stated many officers are not sure when they leave home if they would return to their families alive.
02:03For the commitment you display as you all show up for duty during uncertain times and what any day may bring.
02:16For leaving your families and loved ones on a daily basis, not sure if you will return to them.
02:23Thank you for your display, true character, and each of us be reminded that we are never alone.
02:34Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
