This mod adds shooting stars, and items that you can craft from them. Nodes that will launch you into the air when jumping off of them, armor, and a special necklace that will make more shooting stars land around you.

00:00Welcome back to another Luan Team Mod Review. Today we are looking at the Astro Craft Mod.
00:07And just like that, on time, we get a shooting star.
00:12So the Astro Craft Mod adds shooting stars.
00:15And a few other things, which we are going to hopefully not die as I descend this hill.
00:21And pick up this shooting star.
00:24I think it was in the top of this tree.
00:27Oh yeah, there it is.
00:31So the shooting stars will give off a little particle effect.
00:34There we go.
00:36And due to some different graphics options, did it fall down?
00:42It's doing this goofy bloom thing, which, yeah, that's just because of the bloom effects.
00:50So I'm going to pick it up.
00:51I also got a ton of tree leaves, which I didn't really need or want.
00:57I'm just going to pitch those out.
01:01So yeah, add shooting stars that shoot from the sky, as would be expected for shooting stars.
01:08I don't know where else a shooting star would ever shoot from.
01:11And these shooting stars we can craft into a handful of things.
01:14So the shooting star we can take and get star fragments.
01:17And then the star fragments can be used to create astrolite.
01:23Or, well, it's still astrolite, but we can do astrolite slabs.
01:29That's not what I wanted.
01:31Stairs.
01:32All the different stair variations.
01:34I don't remember what the outer stair looks like.
01:37Is that this?
01:38Nope, that's armor.
01:42Yeah, you can make armor too.
01:44Oh, and walls.
01:47So you can make all these different astrolite objects.
01:51We'll just take a quick peek here at the different items.
01:55So the star charm is something I cheated to get.
02:02But it's quite useful because it makes the stars fall faster around you, I guess.
02:07So you can collect more of them more quickly.
02:11You will only need three star fragments to make one.
02:14And a single shooting star will give you nine star fragments.
02:17So as soon as you pick up your first, and assuming, of course, you have one piece of steel,
02:22you can create one of those charms, which will help you collect pieces more quickly.
02:30I'm going to go ahead and use these nine pieces to craft some astrolite.
02:39And I can get a helmet with that too, right?
02:41Yeah, okay.
02:42Go ahead, grab the helmet.
02:45And I'm going to play some of this astrolite.
02:47So I think I'll just put it right here.
02:50So astrolite does light up.
02:52I think this is like full bright, as bright as you can get.
02:57If you stand on it and jump, it'll catapult you super high into the air.
03:02And you don't take fall damage when you hit the ground after jumping with it.
03:08So it really is super helpful for traveling far distances.
03:12I thought I saw another star out here, shooting star, but I guess that was just the fireflies.
03:22So, ooh, we're going to ignore that.
03:25Took a little damage there.
03:26That was unfortunate.
03:33Let me go back up here.
03:36Oh, you know, I shouldn't have used up all of my star fragments because I actually need some of those for further crafting.
03:46So we have this warp star, which you need, here we go, a full shooting star and four Mies crystal fragments.
03:57And this will work, well, basically you throw it and wherever it hits, you'll teleport to.
04:04Shooting stars only shoot at night.
04:06So I'm going to change the time back to night because I need some more shooting stars.
04:12And if I don't get them during the night, I have to wait all day for another night.
04:19Oh, wait, here's one.
04:21Oh, there's another.
04:22Sweet.
04:23I'm going to go pick these up real quick.
04:25So we have one over here.
04:26I'll use this to make a warp star right away.
04:29As far as I'm aware, these don't despawn until sunlight, until morning.
04:38When morning hits, any non-collected shooting stars will despawn.
04:44So I'm just going to go ahead and use the...
04:47Okay, well, that really didn't work super well, but whatever.
04:50Got me close enough.
04:52So worth noting, the warp star does have a limited number of uses.
04:56And the further you travel with it, the more damage, I guess, it takes.
05:07I guess I'm not traveling far enough to really notice.
05:13Yeah, okay, well, it's not really taking that much damage.
05:17Now, it is worth noting that if we do something silly like throw a trade in the air...

05:30It was too long before it impacted with something.
05:34So it's six seconds by default.
05:37I think you can change that?
05:39I'm not 100% sure.
05:40If you throw the warp star and it doesn't collide into anything, it'll just come back to you.
05:46Also worth noting, the warp star doesn't provide any fall damage.
05:50So if I was to...
05:53I don't even know what I would shoot this to.
05:57It'd have to be like a straight wall on something.
06:01Or to the underside of like a cliff, an overhang.
06:04If I were to do that, it...
06:08I would fall.
06:09I would teleport to wherever the star landed.
06:11And then I would fall and I would take damage.

06:59The only thing left to be the chest plate, which I don't think I have enough for.

07:04The armor will provide heal, but I don't actually know what that does, because I don't think
07:12it actually heals you.
07:15But that's just the standard 3D armor stuff, so however it works normally is how it works.
07:23I am not too familiar with the normal workings of 3D armor, because I have modified 3D armor
07:30to provide more of a RPG feel to it when I have it in my worlds.
07:42I thought I'd just seen a shooting star out here.

07:49No, this is definitely a different one than the one I've seen, but you know what?

08:21If I was using the Wielded Light mod, this armor would light up.
08:27Or would light up the surrounding area around me, I guess, would be more accurate.
08:32Which would make it super useful mining in dark, because it would glow.
08:37And I would be able to see my way around without using torches.
08:43Okay, well I guess there was another shooting star out here.
08:46Which is unfortunate, because I do need one, so I can show how it disappears when it turns to day.

09:07You can jump from slabs or full nodes.

09:24And then while we're jumping, we throw the warp star.
09:28Okay, it teleports us to where the warp star landed.

09:43So now it's daylight.
09:44Let's see what happens to our shooting star.
09:47Well, it disappeared.
09:49Unsurprisingly, that's what it's supposed to do.
09:51They disappear during the day.
09:55The shooting stars only shoot at night.

10:01Really accurate that is.
10:04I mean, I feel like a shooting star could happen any time of day.

10:08Just you only notice them at night, because it's dark out.
10:14This is fantastic, though.
10:15It throws you so high.
10:16And it negates fall damage.
10:18So I can jump off of it, and then...
10:22I mean, landing on the tops of trees isn't exactly the most impressive thing in the world.
10:26You also get, like, a little bit of run when you land from it.
10:30Which is interesting.
10:32But it could be used...
10:34This isn't a very good cave to try to get into.
10:37But you could use the astrolite blocks to get inside of a cave.
10:42Like, jump along the edge of it.
10:44And then land onto the inside of it.
10:46Falling down much further than where you jumped from.
10:49Taking no fall damage.
10:50And then, if it wasn't too deep, you can place one at the bottom and jump your way back out.
10:55You also could do something like this, whereby you do, like, a travel mat system.
11:08Where you just jump from one to another.
11:11Up here, this is my playground.
11:16I was messing around with stuff to see what this all is and how it all works.
11:20Oh, we're up into the clouds.
11:24And we're down from the clouds.
11:26No damage.
11:27It's very nice.

11:33So you got the armor.
11:35The armor, um...
11:37Is a little less powerful, I guess, than some others.

11:45Cool little side note.
11:47The armor is stronger at nighttime than it is during the day.
11:52So...
11:53There's that.
11:55It'll light up for you if you're using the...
11:58Wielded Light mod.
12:01And then at nighttime, it provides more protection than during the day.
12:06So, yeah, that's kind of a neat feature.

12:11Other than that, uh...
12:13I'm not using it, but if you're using the awards mod, there are a few awards you can earn from using different aspects of this mod.
