00:01Welcome back, another Luan Team mod review. Today we are looking at the additional gravel mod.
00:07And now this mod doesn't actually add additional gravel, additional gravel, despite its name.
00:14It adds a new mechanic that turns gravel that's near water into mossy gravel, similar in vain to mossy cobble.
00:22Now I have, for the purposes of this video, very drastically increased the speed at which this happens.
00:32It runs every 16 seconds by default, and there's a 1 in 200 chance.
00:38I change it to run every 1.6 seconds and change it to a 1 in 20 chance.
00:44So theoretically this is 10 times faster, and that was just to be able to demo how it works.
00:49So, as we see, of course, the gravel that I placed out in the water has turned into the mossy
00:57gravel.
00:58And I'll go ahead and place some more out here, and we should see that change pretty quickly.
01:03There we go.
01:04And now, I think if I go ahead and do this, you know, I'm going to put a third layer
01:10on it, just to be sure.
01:12Or, maybe I can, if I'm lucky, there we go, get a layer up top.
01:18We'll see if that one changes as well.
01:20Because the initial moss requires there to be water nearby, but it will spread to adjacent, there we go, adjacent
01:33gravel blocks,
01:34without them being neighbors to water.
01:37So, as we see here, almost all of this has turned to the mossy gravel, with the exception of this
01:43one piece.
01:44And there it just went.
01:46All of these stairs were placed as normal stairs, and they have all turned into the mossy variants.
01:53Now, I made this little pathway over here, and we'll notice that none of this has turned mossy.
01:59And that's because none of it is connected to the path here.
02:04I have a little air gap, if you will.
02:08So, now, I'm wondering, not actually wondering, because, oh, I'm in CreativeTube, by the way.
02:14Not that that really has any effect on the functionality of anything here.
02:18But what if I go ahead and put a mossy block here?
02:22Now, while we're waiting for that to do what it may or may not do,
02:26we can take a quick look, because this is worth noting.
02:32The, oh, come on.
02:36Oh, yeah, no, I guess that is what we want.
02:38The mossy, or overgrown gravel, sorry.
02:42You actually cannot craft directly.
02:45So, you can get the slabs by letting them become mossy in the world,
02:50and then you can turn them into any of the stairs with the standard stair registrations, recipes, whatever.
02:58And then you can turn stairs and slabs back into the full block,
03:03but you cannot just craft the full block directly.
03:07All right, and here we see that taking just one from a wet spot and putting it here,
03:12we have started the invasive spread of the moss throughout the gravel.
03:17Now, there is one thing worth noting, and I don't know if this, we're going to try it.
03:26There is a requirement for light for the moss to spread.
03:30So, potentially, because we are kind of in a shaded area here underneath all of these trees,
03:36and with the sun going down, I think this should help a lot.
03:41It should prevent the spread of the moss any further.
03:45Now, of course, if we wanted the moss to spread, we could just throw some gravel in here
03:49and let it all spread up this way as well.
03:51But, yes, I do believe it has now gotten dark enough
03:54that the spread of the overgrown gravel has stopped.
04:00Now, what if we grab a torch?
04:04Will the torch be bright enough?
04:05I actually don't know because I did not do my homework
04:10because who does homework?
04:12Certainly not famous YouTubers.
04:15Of course, I'm not a famous YouTuber, but that's a small aside.
04:19All right, so we have that.
04:20I'm going to go ahead and put a Mies lantern.
04:22I feel like this would be far enough away.
04:26Yeah, I think so.
04:28Of course, we're not connected, so I'm going to go ahead.
04:30We're going to connect this with some gravel as well just to see if this is enough light
04:40to let the moss spread on the gravel.
04:44Here we still have nothing, which is not too surprising, to be quite honest.
04:50This looks the same as it did before.
04:51Of course, no change there yet.
04:55I am going to go ahead and put in some stair nodes.
05:00Now, I probably won't get the rotations right on these, but you know what?
05:02That's okay if I don't.
05:06Surprisingly, actually, I got it right.
05:07Wow.
05:08Wow, I didn't expect that.
05:11And then let's try for right there.
05:14Yeah, see, that's wrong.
05:17Yeah, that's more of what I wanted.
05:20And then we'll just put something there, and we'll put something here, which really doesn't
05:24work because...
05:25Oh, actually, you know, yeah, that does work.
05:26So it goes to a slab.
05:27Okay, okay, okay.
05:28Okay.
05:29All right.
05:30So it does appear as if these lamps are not bright enough to do anything.
05:34And we will go ahead and do...
05:39And then we'll just change it to 6 a.m., which should now be bright enough for the spread
05:48to start...
05:48Oh, wow, instantly.
05:49Instantly.
05:51Corner has been infected with the overgrowth.
05:57What about up in here?
05:59Now, this is still just a full block with a slab in front of it, but a stair would be
06:04doing the same thing.
06:06Again, if we take a little peek right back down here, I bet...
06:08Oh, actually, no.
06:10Surprisingly, those have not changed yet.
06:13Well, what's going on?
06:14Why is this stuff not changing faster?
06:18I mean, it has...
06:19Oh, there we go.
06:20There we go.
06:21It's happening.
06:22Maybe 6 a.m.
06:24It just wasn't bright enough yet.
06:26That's a possibility.
06:29Noticing that we still have no spread up in the trees here, which is...
06:33I guess, fine.
06:35What I'm going to go ahead and do...
06:38I should build myself a little platform so I can get a nice view.
06:41Here we go.
06:43And we'll just let this sit for a little bit and see what we can see.
06:49Okay, so that was a few minutes of behind the scenes.
06:56And nothing spread here.
06:57So, yeah.
06:58We can very safely assume that the canopy of leaves here is preventing the overgrowth from
07:05spreading.
07:06A little confused on why that one didn't...
07:09Oh, I should turn back on the HUD.
07:11There we go.
07:12A little confused on why that one hasn't.
07:14Um, I would have thought if this one had enough light, so would that one.
07:19But, eh, whatever.
07:22Could it be that this torch was providing the extra bit of light that was needed?
07:26I don't know.
07:27I don't really feel like that torch was...
07:29Be enough to affect that.
07:32I don't know.
07:34But, there you have it.
07:36Now, like I said, this is very much so sped up.
07:39I'm also very curious as to why this one hasn't changed over.
07:42Uh, so it's very much so sped up.
07:45Um, it does not go nearly this fast unless you change the code.
07:51Um, but yeah.
07:52That is the additional gravel mod.
07:54If you are interested with it, interested in downloading it, it is on the in-game content
07:57browser.
07:58So, you can just go in there and search for additional gravel.
08:00Or, if you want to, you know, old school, download the link manually.
08:04I'll have all that linked up on my website.
08:06Which will be linked down in the video description below.
08:08Thanks for watching, and I will see you next time.
08:14Hey you!
08:15Do you play Luanti on your phone?
08:16And find your battery just doesn't have enough capacity to keep you going for the hours and
08:20hours and hours that you want?
08:22Have you considered picking up a power bank to keep your phone battery topped up so you
08:26can waste the day away playing video games?
08:28Luanti, of course.
08:29This video sponsor, Mukaya, makes, among other things, a 20,000 milliamp power bank with an
08:36integrated phone stand that'll let you play for hours and hours without your battery dying.
08:41I've got a link down in the description if you're interested in learning more.
