00:00Welcome back to another LuanityMod review. Today we are looking at Ord Control.
00:05And this mod lets you, in a way, control the Ord Generation.
00:12Only for my test game, though. It's worth noting that right off.
00:16And instead of having to edit code to make the changes,
00:22all you gotta do is go into the settings and tweak a few values around.
00:28So here, as we can tell, I'm pretty much at sea level, a little above.
00:33And there's Mies up here, which is generally not the case.
00:37And that is because I have tweaked some options.
00:41So if we go over to settings here and we just search for Ord Control,
00:44we will find all of the ores we can control.
00:49So we can control coal, iron, copper, gold, diamond, and Mies.
00:55And you'll see here that I changed the maximum elevation that Mies will exist at to 256.
01:04The default for that is negative 256.
01:07And the scarcity I changed to 6 from 14, so that made it far more common.
01:13So I'm going to go ahead and reset those values and launch the world again.
01:19Now I'm using a dummy backend.
01:21So every single time I load the world, it's regenerating.
01:25So that's why we're not seeing any Mies here.
01:29Now, we can do a few pretty bad things with this.
01:35We're going to do that because why wouldn't we want to?
01:39So if we put the scarcity down to like 1,
01:42and let's put this up to say 20,
01:44or 210, sure, why not?
01:50Yeah, that all looks good.
01:51I do believe I have to click set on all of those.
01:54Yep.
01:54And then if we go in here,
01:59okay, actually I'm quite surprised that that didn't...
02:03Oh, you know what?
02:04Because I think I forgot an option.
02:07I think in order to actually make that do anything,

02:54I'm not sure why it didn't work the first time.
02:56As you can tell, we've pretty much made all of stone coal,
02:59which is great.

03:15We've gone and done it.
03:17Because it doesn't clamp the bounds
03:20and it lets you do silly things like this.
03:24I'm not sure on the back end how this is actually working.
03:28But if I were to find someplace with a lot of stone,
03:31I can really hang map gen.
03:33Because it's spending a ton of time changing stone into coal.
03:37So, like...
03:38Oh, I almost ran into the edge of the world there because of it.
03:41There was a spot over this way.
03:43I was doing some testing with Mies.
03:45And it was mountains.
03:48Yeah.
03:48It was unplayable.
03:49Because the mountains were trying to be made completely of Mies.
03:54Which eventually it did do.
03:57But it took a hot minute.
04:00Like a long time.
04:02It would actually be good to find those mountains again
04:03because it's a good place to do the demo of
04:06how easily you can bork everything.
04:09I do remember being past the desert.
04:11So, I think we're on the right way.
04:14Now, while this does adjust to the amount of ores,
04:18it doesn't change anything for what the oar is spawning in.
04:22So, because we are dealing with desert materials here,
04:27we're still not going to get any ores in the desert stone or desert sand.
04:31It'll still only be spawning in into the stone.
04:34Which, you know, makes sense.
04:38That's all it says it's going to do is change how much of an item there is.
04:42Okay.
04:43I don't think I'm going to find those mountains.
04:44But, you know what?
04:45That's...
04:45Oh, hey.
04:47This works too.
04:51This must be...
04:52Yeah.
04:54The max elevation was 64.
04:56So, we're at 64.
04:57So, it's not going to display anymore.
04:58But, this is perfect because it's a ton of stone
05:00and it lets us very easily demo the changes.
05:06So, we're just going to go back in.
05:09Oops.
05:10Spell or control correctly.
05:13Org control does provide some presets.
05:16So, we have balanced, rich, and scarce.
05:19I'm assuming scarce is going to be the least.
05:21So, let's start with that.
05:23I found a nice little cave that we can view.
05:26So, here we see that there are, what?
05:28Four pieces of iron in our visible viewing area.
05:34And, let's see what happens when we change it to balanced.
05:39Now, I might not really be down low enough.
05:42To see a whole lot of difference.
05:44Four.
05:44Ooh, five, six.
05:46There's six.
05:46We have a little more iron now.
05:48It still looks like it's only iron and coal.
05:51I don't know is that the changing of the presets
05:57is necessarily changing elevations.
06:02I guess I could take a look at that.
06:0764 and 2.
06:09And, if we go to rich, we're still at 64.
06:13And, we're still at 2.
06:14So, I don't think it's changing the elevations at all.
06:16It's just changing quantities.
06:19Here, now we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
06:25We have, ooh, and right below this piece of stone,
06:29there's another, so 12.
06:30Oh, and there's some more.
06:31So, there is quite a bit more when we change the scarcity presets.
06:39But, of course, that's not extreme enough.
06:45So, we're going to leave it at a rich.
06:47And, we're going to change our maxes on all of these
06:51to be something in the positives.
06:54Because, of course, we want all of it to be visible at once.
06:57Now, I'm not going to go ahead and change
07:01any of the other options here.
07:04Just because I'm changing all of this.
07:08And, I feel like we're already going to see
07:13a huge difference.
07:17Okay, well, that's crazy.
07:20We see a very small difference.
07:22The only real difference here being is that
07:24we have some gold, a little bit of meese.
07:28Oh, there's some copper down there now.
07:29No diamond visible.
07:32Wow.
07:32Maybe I should have changed some more settings.
07:35Now, of course, we can play with this all we want
07:38to tune in the options we want.
07:43So, maybe we'll change all of our scarcities to 8.
07:49Oh, yeah.
07:50Oh, yeah.
07:50We're going to really, we're, like,
07:51doubling the amount of a lot of this stuff,
07:53which is cool.
07:58There, unfortunately, isn't really any, wow.
08:01There really isn't any information as far as what these options are changing.
08:05So, like, we have coal size.
08:07Well, what does coal size actually mean?
08:11Don't know.
08:12We're going to change it to something higher.
08:16That's right.
08:16We do need to make sure that we are changing all of these options as well
08:22by clicking the set button.
08:25Otherwise, nothing actually happens.
08:28I don't know what this is doing.
08:30Maybe it's going to make MapGen hang really badly.
08:33It very well could.
08:35Oh, hey, look at that.
08:37Now, we have a bit of everything.
08:40It's great.
08:41We have goodies all over the place.
08:43What a fantastic, fantastic world.
08:47Let's go look at this face of a cliff
08:49and see how many goodies we have.
08:53Wowzers.
08:54Look at that.
08:55All kinds of phenomenal stuff.
08:59Now, it is worth noting,
09:02as we close and wrap up here,
09:05that when you change these settings,
09:07this is not a per-world setting.
09:10Changing them the way that I have been in the
09:14mod, or in the,
09:15I guess, on just the settings page there,
09:18this will be for every single world that you are using this mod on.
09:22If you do want it to be per-world changes,
09:27you just have to copy it from the,
09:31let's see now,
09:33I think you would be copying it from the
09:35mytestconf,
09:38I believe,
09:40is what that file is called.
09:41And I think
09:44you can put those options
09:45into the world.mt,
09:49but I'm not 100% sure on that.
09:51You might have to do a
09:53a custom dot,
09:55customized option,
09:56which would be
09:58launching the world
10:00with a
10:03specific configuration file,
10:05which would be done via terminal,
10:07or
10:07a script
10:08that you would launch
10:09via terminal.
10:11So it is
10:12a bit more involved,
10:14but if there's only one world that you're using this mod on,
10:16you can kind of ignore all of that,
10:18or if the changes you're making
10:20you want to be
10:22universal across
10:23all of your worlds,
10:24it doesn't matter either.
10:25Now of course,
10:27because this is a map gen thing,
10:29this is only going to affect
10:31newly generated parts of the world.
10:33In this instance,
10:34for this video,
10:34I was using a dummy backend,
10:36so the world was regenerated
10:37every single time
10:39I re-entered the world,
10:40but if I was using a normal backend
10:43where the world generated
10:43and we were just reviewing parts
10:45of the world
10:46that had already been generated,
10:47we wouldn't be seeing any changes.
10:48So this will only affect
10:50unexplored areas
10:51that haven't been generated yet.
10:55Yeah,
10:55so that's pretty much it.
