00:00Welcome back to another Luanty Mod review. Today we are looking at the lighting rocket, which helps light up large
00:07areas. It's really good for cave exploration.
00:10So you know, lame, old school way of doing this. You know, you gotta run around, put out a bunch
00:16of torches. It's kind of a pain in the butt, honestly.
00:20Especially if you're playing with monsters and things that are trying to eat you and stuff.
00:27You run around, you don't know where there's an edge you might fall off of. Bad things could happen.
00:32So what this mod adds is a flare, kind of, sort of, essentially.
00:39You craft it like this, you're gonna need some gunpowder, some coal, some torches, and you get a lighting rocket.
00:45Or, as it's called, a flare. And you get four of those per recipe, which is not a bad deal,
00:50honestly.
00:52And then to use it, you just punch with it, and it shoots out this little orb of, orb of
00:57light, I guess.
00:58And as it goes, it places light sources in the air that then light the way for you.
01:08And depending on the direction you shoot is where the lights will go.
01:11So shooting it straight up, you know, lights the ceiling, which, depending on what you're doing, actually could be very
01:18useful.
01:19But, of course, that doesn't really help us too much on the ground here.
01:23So what we might want to do instead is kind of just radiate out in a circle from ourselves to
01:31get a good view of our surroundings.
01:33Now, I kind of cheated, and I just used no-clip and flying fast to get down here.
01:38So I don't have, like, an entryway that actually came through.
01:43But what we now have is a semi-well-lit cave that we can run through very safely.
01:51We know where edges are. We know where drop-offs are.
01:53We know where monsters are, if there's any monsters, which I'm not playing with monsters, so there aren't any.
01:59Of course, we do still run into some dark areas.
02:01But like this, I would have fallen to my death before because I would not have known that was there.
02:06Or, now I do.
02:07This meese, I would have completely overlooked it because I wouldn't have known it was there.
02:11What about this? Ooh, that drop-off. It would have killed me.
02:14But I could see it.
02:15Now, of course, I could have placed a gajillion torches in here.
02:20And long-term, that is what you still have to do because these lights, just like real flares, don't last
02:26forever.
02:27Although, these do last a lot longer than flares do because a flare is really bright and it burns.
02:34And you shoot it in the air and it lights up and then it burns itself out.
02:40So, you don't get this actual sort of experience with flares.
02:45But, these are programmed, whatever word you want to use.
02:52They last for two minutes.
02:53So, I just have to kill enough time here walking around for two minutes to elapse, pass, so that the
03:02lights will start going out.
03:08Yeah.
03:10So, we're just waiting for that now.
03:12And again, of course, like I said, you would still want to place torches for persistent and continual light.
03:19So, for example, we had, oh, because I'm cheating and I have flying fast.
03:24I know we have this drop-off here now.
03:26So, let me put some torches along the edge of it.
03:28Ooh, some of our lights are dying.
03:30See, now, if I was smart, I would have already went around and put lights in the important spots that
03:36I needed to know about.
03:37Like, hey, there's a drop-off here.
03:39So, maybe let's put some permanent lighting there so we don't accidentally fall to our deaths.
03:44Um, I don't know where any other drop-offs were.
03:47I don't know how I got to here, in fact, because I can't see.
03:50Oh, there it is.
03:51I can't see my lights.
03:52Now, was this a safe path to walk?
03:54I don't know, because I didn't put any torches out, because I was a dummy.
03:58And I was waiting for the lights to die so we could know how the lights died.
04:03Of course, this doesn't only work in caves.
04:06You could use it anywhere.
04:10Um, obviously, it's just putting out invisible light sources that last for two minutes.
04:17And once that two minutes are up, the light source just removes itself.
04:21Nothing too fancy or crazy with that.
04:25And it's a simple timer on a node.
04:28We've all done it.
04:29Well, probably not.
04:30But it's basic stuff.
04:32There's nothing extra fancy about it.
04:36But, it does definitely help.
04:38This is, uh, kind of like a cheaper version of the, oh, what was it called?
04:43Torch bombs?
04:43I did a mod review on it some time ago.
04:46Where it would actually put torches around the world that would keep them illuminated.
04:51Um, but this one just does temporary lighting.
04:53Which, sometimes, that's all you need.
04:55You know, you just want to be able to say,
04:57Oh, there's a drop-off here.
04:59Let me put some torches there so I know about it.
05:02So I don't fall down into it later on.
05:04But, I mean, sometimes, what's the old saying?
05:08Um, hmm, I can't even think of what the old saying is.
05:14Something about pack in, pack out.
05:16You know, leave the world cleaner than when you found it.
05:21Basically, it just comes down to don't be a litter bug.
05:24Don't throw your garbage on the ground.
05:26Take your trash out with you.
05:28You know, keep the place clean.
05:29And sure, this is, you know, digital and it's not the real world.
05:32And pollution and within the game doesn't really matter.
05:35Because it's just a video game and who cares about ethics or anything like that, right?
05:42But, if you want to pretend to, you know, care about the digital environment of your own world.
05:48That you are literally the god of.
05:51And can control every single aspect of.
05:54This is one way to not make a mess.
05:57But more importantly, it's just a really easy way to light up a big cave.
06:01I mean, look at this.
06:02I can see where all my ores are.
06:04I can run around.
06:05I can grab all the ores.
06:07And then when the light fades, nobody will ever know this cave's already been explored.
06:11Somebody else will find this cave.
06:13Think that, oh, hey, here's a fresh big cave.
06:15There's probably lots of ores to be had.
06:16And then be sorely disappointed when they look around and find that somebody already came through
06:21and ravaged the landscape and took all of the valuable ores and left naught but trash.
06:28Anyways, that's probably enough talking.
06:30You know, I gotta make sure I hit whatever number so I can get ads on.
06:33I don't think that's actually true.
06:35But yeah, that is the Lighting Rocket mod for Luanty.
06:39It works with any games that provide default and TNT because of the recipe.
06:46So any games based on my test should work.
06:51But yeah, that's the mod.
