00:00Welcome back to another Luanty Mod Review. Today we are looking at the Pills Mod, which adds a, well, mushroom
00:09biome of sorts.
00:11But this isn't like your standard biomes that you'll just find, you know, traveling around the map.
00:16This one you kind of breathe into existence, I suppose we could word it.
00:22So, this one I started, oh, I don't know, this has probably been going for six or eight hours maybe.
00:30Um, just running on its own.
00:33And I'm going to get out of it here into this grassy area and do a little demonstration on how
00:41we start this whole process.
00:45So, um, you will start in, you know, your normal world with normal everything.
00:52And if you want to bring chaos and ruin into your world, hey man, some people want that kind of
01:00stuff.
01:01Um, all you got to do is craft a special node.
01:06And now this node is, let me see what it's called here, the Dirt with Myzillium.
01:16Um, and to craft it you're just going to need some dirt, some gravel, and anything in the group mushrooms.
01:22Which, I believe you're only going to have the red mushrooms and the brown mushrooms if you're just using, um,
01:33my test game.
01:34But, of course, the mushrooms from this mod, I would assume, also work.
01:39So, we have the brown mushroom, we have the red mushroom, and by some crazy coinkidink, I don't have one
01:48of the mushrooms from this mod.
01:50So, let me go grab one.
01:52Uh, we have some little fire-looking mushrooms here.
01:55Let me just grab that and see if we can't use, it's a clownfish mushroom.
02:00Watershroom, rather. Very interesting.
02:02Well, anyways, it works.
02:02So, now we have our Dirt with Myzillium.
02:07And we are going to plop this down in the world someplace.
02:14So, I don't know, we'll just go right here, pop it in this corner.
02:20And that will slowly spread to the surrounding nodes.
02:26It is very slow, in fact.
02:28Like I said, this small portion over here, it started from a single node that I placed.
02:35Like I said, that's been like six or eight hours of real-world time where I just let this run
02:40in the background to kind of spread out.
02:42To do the things that Do's does.
02:47So, we'll come back to that later.
02:50So, let's take a look at what all this brings us.
02:55So, we get the dirt that spreads.
02:58Now, when you dig this dirt, let me just throw the dirt into my inventory here.
03:03It does just drop dirt.
03:05Oh, I just broke my shovel.
03:07So, as you see now, we have a couple more dirt than we did before.
03:11So, you don't get anything special that way.
03:14If you want to craft more of it, you do have to craft it with the gravel and the mushroom.
03:22Now, in here, there are two saplings, which I think you can actually craft as well.
03:28You have the giant red mushroom sapling and the giant mushroom sapling.
03:31Both of which just use the dirt and then the two mushrooms on them to grow them.
03:38Now, they do also...
03:41I don't know how frequently or how often, but they do also just randomly spawn on the dirt as well.
03:50And these giant mushrooms will start growing.
03:53I know there were some around earlier, but they may have grown up into the full trees.
04:02Kind of looking like that may be the case.
04:05So, let's go to the border of where we are currently at and see how things look.
04:11So, we have...
04:15I don't know if we're in the plains biome or what it is, but we have the little bushes here,
04:19right?
04:19Well, as the mushroom biome spreads, it actually turns these bushes into these.
04:30Which are essentially the exact same shape, but it's just mushrooms instead of bushes.
04:38Same with trees.
04:39So, you might notice...
04:41Where is it?
04:42Here we go.
04:43You might notice that this tree kind of looks like an evergreen tree.
04:48Wait, not that one.
04:49The one behind it.
04:50This one.
04:51This one kind of looks like an evergreen tree.
04:54And that's because I planted an evergreen tree in the mushroom biome.
04:58And when it grew...
05:00Actually, no.
05:01I don't know if it grew as an evergreen tree and then turned into the mushroom tree or if it
05:05just grew immediately as the mushroom tree.
05:07I'm not positive because it was doing that when I wasn't watching it.
05:13Because, like I said, it was for like six or eight hours.
05:15And I also grew a tree outside of the biome on the kind of border of it.
05:19And then as it spread to it, it also turned into a mushroom tree.
05:24The blue mushrooms here, I believe that's any grass turns into the blue mushrooms as the biome spreads.
05:33And the brown and red mushrooms, I am not sure.
05:37Those might be flowers that are just changing colors.
05:40Not entirely sure.
05:42Now, there are a few things that the biome changes.
05:47So, if we scooch our way back over here, we'll see on the ground, someplace there it is, off in
05:54the distance.
05:54I placed a few, what I thought were pretty common nodes that I wanted to see if this biome would
06:00affect.
06:01So, when these nodes here were originally placed, this was actually, well, it was default wood.
06:09It wasn't the pine tree, it was just, you know, the normal wood.
06:13But it turned into mushroom trunks.
06:15I'm assuming any woods will turn into the mushroom.
06:18Cobble, not affected.
06:20Gravel's not affected.
06:21I don't know why this dirt hasn't changed yet because I really feel like it should have.
06:28If we come over here, we can look and see stone doesn't get affected.
06:32None of that stone's changed.
06:33It doesn't do anything to water.
06:35So, pretty much just turns dirt into the dirt with myelium.
06:41Here we can see the sand.
06:43Sand is all fine.
06:45Again, stone doesn't get affected.
06:47If we look down here, none of this is affected, nor will it be.
06:51Now, this does spread.
06:52I don't know how far it will spread.
06:54I didn't think in advance to test that.
06:57Maybe I should have put, like, a border around it of cobble or stone and see if it would spread
07:02through that.
07:03So, I suppose we could do that quickly here.
07:07This is a lot of things I'm going to have to try to remember to come back to.
07:09So, we're just going to make a quick little box here.
07:13And we'll put some stone in it as our border.
07:21Now, I do wonder, should maybe I go with a border too wide?
07:29You know what?
07:30I think we'll do that.
07:31We'll do a border too wide on the side where we already have some of the bad dirt.
07:42Just to see if we can stop it from spreading.
07:48Because, maybe, for whatever reason, we want to have a small portion of this biome.
07:57But we don't want to take over the world.
07:59Can we contain the biome by just blocking it in?
08:03I don't know.
08:05Now, let's move on to the fun stuff.
08:08So, we have these trees.
08:09I do like these.
08:10The apples in the trees turn into mushrooms.
08:13It's quite cool.
08:16Anyway, we have the trees, right?
08:18And we can chop the trees.
08:20But there's a little surprise.
08:22Sometimes.
08:24I don't know.
08:27It just kind of is a random thing, I guess.
08:30Because there's nothing special about the node before you break it.
08:34It's just once you break it.
08:37So, sometimes, the mushroom pieces will turn into these little mushroom guys that will chase you around.
08:46Running backwards is really not the greatest idea.
08:49Because, you know, there could be a hole that I could fall in.
08:53But, yeah, I'll let him chase me for a little bit.
08:55I don't know if it actually does any damage.
08:56Oh, yeah, it does.
08:57Yeah, it does.
08:58Okay.
08:59Hey, bud.
09:00And then when you kill it, you just get the mushroom drop that you normally would have had.
09:07Oh, no, I thought I had some...
09:10Yeah, I can eat these for some health.
09:13So, we...
09:14Wait, can I not eat mushrooms anymore?
09:17What?
09:19It overrides the mushrooms so I can't eat it?
09:21Good thing I have 46 berries.
09:24Okay, so evidently you can't eat mushrooms anymore.
09:27Good to know.
09:29So, that was the red mushroom tops that turned into monsters.
09:35What about the brown mushroom tops?
09:37Well, spoiler alert, yes, they do the exact same thing.
09:40But, again, it's kind of just a random thing.
09:44Oh, that was a surprise.
09:47I just attacked that tree and the whole thing turned into monsters.
09:52And now I'm running away.
09:55Wait, I'm confused.
09:57What is going on here?
10:01Did they all just decide that they weren't going to...
10:05I'm kind of scared.
10:08Not going to lie.
10:10What, you get too far away and then they just...
10:14They turn back into the nodes?

11:09So, this is a giant brown...
11:11Or giant mushroom brown mimic.
11:13So, these ones will turn back into a monster when I break them.
11:17Or punch them.
11:21The stem...

11:29So, I was fine breaking that stem.
11:32Are these stems mimics?
11:34No.
11:38Alright.
11:39So, I can get all the stems.
11:41The mimics are not going to decay with the leaf decay, though.
11:45I don't know why I'm using my sword for that when I should be using an axe.
11:50Um...
11:52Let me find another mimic.
11:53Yeah, even just punching a mimic makes it come back to life and chase you.
11:58So, we're just going to outrun these guys for a quick little minute here.
12:04Okay, there's a couple chasing still.
12:07Nothing too crazy.

12:19Alright, so we're just going to leave those alone, I guess.
12:23There's supposed to be a mushroom monster.
12:25Now, I don't know what this exactly looks like or how I find it.
12:31Or what makes it it.
12:32But it's supposed to drop something special.
12:36And an antidote.
12:38So, you can uncurse your world, I guess.
12:44Which, I don't really know how much of a curse this is.
12:50If you can just block it off.
12:52So, let's take a quick look.
12:55I say quick, but I don't have a sprint mod.
12:58So, I can't get over there quickly.
13:00See if that one node we placed earlier has done anything.
13:04As we're running over, though, we can look and see there's two saplings here.
13:08That just popped in.
13:11I don't know if those are mushrooms or plants that changed into those.
13:14Or what?
13:15Because I didn't pay attention before.
13:18And this has done diddly squat.
13:21That could be just because of the distance from it to me.
13:27Potentially, ABMs have not been firing in that area.
13:30Because, you know, I'm not right there.
13:34So, that mod block might not be loaded.
13:36I don't know.
13:37But it is a slow spread.
13:40We can see coming back that the pinewood trunk has changed over.
13:45So, it appears as if any tree trunks turn into mushroom trunks.
13:50So, if you have a house built of wood, you're going to have a house built of mushroom after this
13:55comes through.
13:56But stone and brick and sand are perfectly safe.
14:00I think planks are as well, actually.
14:02I didn't put any planks down.
14:03I should have.
14:05Let's just grab these planks and pop them down and see what planks do.
14:11I will assume nothing will happen to those.
14:15If we come back over here to our stone, the inside is still good.
14:21But we haven't really seen a lot of spreading on the outside either.
14:25Oh, we do have the bottoms of these trees getting infected.
14:31Okay.
14:32So, I just happened to create it for a quick second here and grabbed me some diamond tools.
14:37So, I can wage war a little more effectively on these mimics.
14:42So, the bosses.
14:44I also spent a quick minute looking at some documentation.
14:48The bosses spawn randomly in the trees of the mimics.
14:54This poor guy doesn't know what he's doing.
14:59Which tells me that I need to destroy a lot of these trees if I want to find the bosses.
15:07Additionally, in my reading, I learned that if they don't see a person for five seconds,
15:18they will turn back into the nodes and just, you know, sit on the ground.
15:24So, we'll try to do that.
15:28This one guy isn't turning back into a node.
15:33I'm a little confused on that.
15:34I need to eat some berries real quick.
15:36Ignore those nodes at the bottom.
15:38We will cover them in a little bit.
15:41Alright, what is going on?
15:43Why has this guy...

16:28So, that was a mistake.

16:38The boss is in the air, you know.
16:40And it has...

16:44Has quite a lot of health.

16:48Although, this one's only at 410.
16:49It seems to be losing some life just from existing.

22:12Anyways, we're looking at how this works.
22:14So from my reading, the biome spreads during the night.
22:19So, which kind of makes sense, seeing as how they're mushrooms and all, right?
22:23They like the darkness.
22:25So if you put a lot of lights out, I guess they don't spread very much.
22:29Not too surprising there.
22:32Now, these...
22:33I only put out a handful of these, and they seem to be spreading pretty quick.
22:36And they will, I guess, encapsulate the mycelium here
22:41and prevent them from spreading further.
22:44They also glow, which is why I'm kind of waiting for it to get to be a little later.
22:48Or, you know, we could just go ahead and do this.
22:53Because, why not?
22:54I'm already using all the cheat codes anyways.
22:56So they glow quite brightly.
22:58And they will prevent the dirt from spreading.
23:04Because they glow, and the spreading only happens in the dark.
23:08So that's useful.
23:10I'm just going to come over here real quick and put one in to here.

23:17And we'll see if we see any...

24:14It's not a good day when the mod crashes and just makes the whole world not work anymore.
24:19It was the last update in 22, so, you know, four years ago.
24:23So, maybe that's why it doesn't work.

24:27Yeah, maybe be careful with this mod.

24:31It might break your worlds.
24:33Now, of course, I could just disable the mod and then I should be fine.
24:38But, yeah, that's going to do it.
