21 May - National weather forecast presented by Clare Nasir
Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is dry and sunny for most.
00:05However, slightly different feel to things down towards more central and southern parts of England and Wales.
00:10A weather front overnight has skirted towards more southern counties, bringing more clouds and some outbreaks of rain.
00:17Then later on today into tomorrow, this cold front sinks southwards so temperatures are going to be much lower,
00:22feeling a lot fresher through Thursday and perhaps even into Friday across the eastern side.
00:26Before all change into the weekend, we see weather fronts come in from the Atlantic again.
00:32Now for the time being, if you are out and about, there is some rain around.
00:36Sporadic bursts just coming and going. South Wales, central southern England, the west country turning more showery through the day.
00:42Showers will develop ahead of it across the Midlands, mid Wales, northwest England as well as the Midlands.
00:47They could turn sharp.
00:48Now for Scotland and Northern Ireland, despite the fact there will be some low clouds just surrounding the coastal fringes through the morning,
00:54you'll see some fine weather, some strong sunshine, a lovely day to be out on the mountain.
00:57That's where the highest temperatures will be, coming in around 22 degrees Celsius for southwest western parts of Scotland.
01:03Further south, probably 18 or 19 along this coast though, as the breeze picks up 15 to 17 degrees Celsius.
01:11Now through this evening and overnight, any showers fading away.
01:14More cloud just sinks southwards with that breeze, so we could see a bit more of a cloudier start to the day across central and eastern areas,
01:22even with the odd showery burst into Thursday morning.
01:25Quite a fresh start for some.
01:27You'll notice the difference across more eastern areas with that breeze, but there will be some fine weather around some sunshine,
01:32particularly towards the northwest.
01:34The cloud will come and go across more central and southern areas, breaking at times.
01:37Temperatures probably the mid-teens, 18 or 19 at the very best.
01:40Now through Friday, that stronger wind is offshore, so most of us bathed in some lovely late May sunshine.
01:48Make the most of it or change as we head through the weekend.
01:51Before that though, your temperatures on Friday, 17, 18, 19 Celsius.
01:55Your deep dive this week is with Alex Burkle.
01:58I'll see you later.
