As the SOE comes to an end in the country one man who was detained in Tobago during the period would not be released.
This from Senior Superintendent of Police Earl Elie who has dubbed the SOE a success in Tobago's crime fight. Elizabeth Williams spoke to officer Elie and has this report.

00:00So, fortunately for Tobago, only one person was detained under the SOE.
00:06That person is presently in custody.
00:09He, although the SOE comes on end today, he is not, he will not be released as he was charged for other offences.
00:19Senior Superintendent of Police Earl Eli told TV6 News,
00:23the man who is due to appear before a Scarborough magistrate's court, is originally from Trinidad.
00:30Well, he's in his late duties, he's from the Lambo area, but he's originally from Las Quavers, Las Quavers in Trinidad.
00:39Senior Superintendent Eli has deemed the state of emergency a successful tool in Tobago and the country's crime fight.
00:47Despite the SOE comment on end, the police have their work to do.
00:53We in Tobago can boast a lot of success from the SOE.
00:57Several weapons were recovered up to yesterday.
01:00We recovered an AR-15 with several guns of ammunition and other stolen items.
01:05And it has assisted us greatly in Tobago.
01:08And I think it was a welcome move on my part.
