00:28Acting head of WASA Tobago, Brian Williams, has admitted to issues affecting Tobago's water supply.
00:35Over the past two weeks, we have been plagued with a number of mechanical issues and major pipeline breaks,
00:42which has resulted in disruption in the reliability of the supply to a large portion of the Tobago public.
00:50Customers of the Corland Water Treatment Plant and the Diamond Wells and Triangle Wells especially have been heavily adversely affected.
01:03Mr. Williams said a reliable water supply is now expected.
01:07At this point, police announced that all the mechanical issues have been sorted
01:11and we are at present attempting to catch up with respect to the customers and the schedules that were not met.
01:19This exercise is ongoing and we ask that as we attempt to restore supply to these areas, that you please bear with us.
01:28Mr. Williams said surface water level courses are less than previous years.
01:32The Corland Water Treatment Plant, for example, the production is 60% less than it has been.

01:47To this end, we are in the process of adjusting the schedules to reflect what we can deliver based on the availability.
01:56WASA, in a release on Sunday, said the supply of water was impacted by a ruptured 16-inch transmission pipeline
02:04in the vicinity of the Triangle Woods Well, which was repaired on Wednesday 24th, September 2025
02:12and due to reduced production at the Corland Water Treatment Plant, resulting from unseasonal low river flows.
02:21To address this issue, the authorities said it has been making system adjustments and utilising various sources
02:30to minimise the impact to customers at the extremities of the distribution network in particular.
