00:00All the tributes are still pouring in following the passing of former TNT head coach Leo Benhacker yesterday.
00:06And one man who was most instrumental in bringing the Dutch coach to TNT is former FIFA vice president and TTFA special advisor Jack Warner.
00:14And he made a heartfelt tribute to the man who took TNT to the promised land of World Cup football and called for a fitting honor to be made to Benhacker.
00:21I was shocked by the demise of Leo Benhacker, my friend, my colleague, my mentor, my brother, my everything.
00:31I know there are some people, you know, death is something that you have to live with.
00:35But there are some people who you believe will never die.
00:38And that's one of such persons is Leo Benhacker.
00:42He was great. He was famous.
00:43He came here. When we had one point in the World Cup, he came here and took a team.
00:50And after four matches, at one point, I carried it to Germany in 2006.
00:55Not only that, but by his very action, he was able to unify a country.
00:59After Bahrain, when we came back, I had never seen a country as unified as Trinidad and Tobago.
01:04And I think that is his legacy he has left the country.
01:08He was coach of Ajax team, Ferdinand, and also Poland.
01:14And he did more for local coaches here in the country than anybody.
01:19His passing is indeed a loss, not only to football, but to all the friends he had in Trinidad and Tobago.
01:26And I hope that at the end of the day, his soul rests in peace
01:30and he be given the kind of award or tribute this country can give to a person like Leo Benhacker.
