T&T football legend, Leroy De Leon has passed away at the age of 76.

The former Saint Benedict's College standout and national striker passed away at the San Fernando General Hospital on Tuesday morning

Tributes have come from the TTFA and others in the sporting fraternity as they remember the life of one of T&T's most gifted players.

00:22Leroy Dillian wasn't only a fan favourite, but a favourite of the pros as well, as legendary

00:37Dillian is considered as one of TNT's most gifted players, and as the TTFA described
00:42in its statement, he was not only a footballer of extraordinary skill and vision, but also
00:47an ambassador of the sport.
00:49Dillian wasted little time in displaying his skill and grace as he cracked into the national
00:53team at the tender age of 16, earning 17 caps for the senior national team.
00:58Before that, he was a standout for a St. Benedict's College team that is considered
01:02one of the greatest college teams ever.
01:05What would you say are some of your fondest memories playing for St. Benedict's and
01:08playing in the college's league?
01:10Playing against Fatima, playing against all the schools.
01:14Fondest memories, beating Fatima twice in the cup.
01:20When I took over the game in Fatima ground, and the second round, the second year, it
01:28was in Skinner Park, I did the same thing.
01:31It was always a one goal difference game, always.
01:35After excelling in college, he would forge a long and successful career in the early
01:39stages of the American professional football.
01:42Playing for six clubs in the National Professional Soccer League, with teams such as the Washington
01:47Dots, San Jose Earthquakes, and the Seattle Saunders.
02:08DeLeon was inducted into the TNT Sports Hall of Fame in 2008, named to the NASL first team
02:15in 1970, and was named the greatest SSFL player in its first 50 years in 2016.
02:21Leroy DeLeon passed away early this morning at the age of 76 after ailing for some time.
