00:02Former FIFA vice president and ex-TTFA boss Jack Warner is weighing in on this nation's World Cup hopes.
00:09Warner, who famously led TNT to their first World Cup appearance in 2006,
00:13believes that playing at home gives the Warriors a slight edge,
00:17but he warns that the pressure could also spark nerves.
00:21The worst thing the team can do is to take the field as if they have won already,
00:28or to take the Tobacco team for granted.
00:32A draw for Jamaica or Trinidad means that both of them should be out,
00:38and therefore one of them will have to win.
00:41Trinidad and Tobago seems to have the edge to me because they're playing at home,
00:46but playing at home can also make them nervous,
00:49and therefore if I were the coach or the management team,
00:53I would have had them in camp with no TV, no radio, no news,
00:59and they look at simply some Westerns and so on,
01:02and they train hard in the morning and evening,
01:05look at Westerns in the night, and take bed,
01:08because they have to be insulated from the public as far as possible.
01:15The star power of the past teams,
01:17Warner insists that qualification is still within reach,
01:20so long as the players don't take the task lightly.
01:25I don't know of any star players now,
01:28except possibly a guy named Levi Garcia,
01:31who has been quite in Russia.
01:32I don't know the guys now,
01:34they're not household names as in my time with York and Latapia and these guys.
01:40So therefore I don't want to make any judgment,
01:43except to say,
01:44I hope for the country's sake,
01:46that they qualify.
01:46It's tough for them,
01:49but they have the best chances to do that.
01:51If this had happened in my time,
01:54I would have had two pieces qualifying,
01:56three of that would qualify,
01:58and two big ones would qualify also.
02:00It is as easy as that,
02:02because in my time you had three and a half places,
02:05today you have eight places,
02:07and the big ones are already there,
02:09Canada, Mexico, USA.
02:11So for me,
02:12this is a piece of cake.
