00:00
Let's jump into the other four races and help the folks out,
00:03
see if we can lead them into a winner
00:06
for this pick five ticket.
00:07
So race number eight is an overnight handicap.
00:09
It's called the Travista,
00:11
and they have such great purses over at Oaklawn Park,
00:14
145,000 up for grabs in this one.
00:17
Mile into 16th, we've got Phillies and Mayors,
00:20
and you and I, we're kind of looking at
00:22
a couple of similar horses in here.
00:23
Why don't you start us off?
00:24
Who are the horses that we want to use in this first leg
00:27
of the five team kind of parlay that we're playing?
00:30
This is a pick five.
00:31
Yes, well, before I try to pronounce this horse's name,
00:34
I want to congratulate Gino,
00:35
who crushed, crushed a pick five last week.
00:40
Coast to coast pick five, another one he does often,
00:43
and just absolutely crushed it.
00:44
So good work on that.
00:46
And as we get into it, I will say,
00:48
the luck for me over the last couple of years,
00:50
I was having a lot of close misses,
00:51
but it all changed in November
00:53
when we had the winner on this show
00:55
that we gave out for about $5,000.
00:57
And then it started to change for me.
00:59
A lot of those horses that were running second now
01:01
have gotten the job done.
01:02
So let's see if we can keep that good energy,
01:05
the good juju, and roll it right on over to this week.
01:08
Set us up for race number eight.
01:11
All right, with Bruna Boin,
01:13
I think this might be how you pronounce
01:15
that horse's name, number two.
01:17
Time for me has her getting second place behind the five,
01:20
which is going to be our other selection here.
01:22
But you know, she's a tracker that can kind of sit off
01:24
pace and grind them down.
01:25
Her early and late pace ratings are the same,
01:27
which shows you how she's like a really consistent
01:30
runner throughout the race.
01:32
Her race back in October where she won at Keeneland
01:35
is what I want to see from her this weekend.
01:36
I think if she runs that on Sunday, I think she can win.
01:39
And if you're looking at the charts below,
01:41
you can see the chicklets.
01:43
The number five is towards the front,
01:45
and then the number five is finishing towards the front.
01:47
That's the other horse that we're going to be using here,
01:49
and that's Payne, who's just like a solid on paper,
01:53
coming out of some strong races,
01:55
shows speed and can sit just off.
01:57
And the jockey, Flavian Pratt, he in particular
02:00
is so good with horses that are like this,
02:02
where he has to make a decision.
02:03
Do I want to be really aggressive
02:05
or maybe sit off a little bit?
02:06
It seems like he always makes the right call
02:08
on when to go, when to sit.
02:10
So we're in very capable hands there, Alexa.
02:13
As we move to race number nine, this is the honeybee.
02:16
This is one of the races where we had, I guess,
02:18
a slight difference of opinion.
02:19
And this is what happens when you have two people
02:22
building a ticket together.
02:23
I know the horse to beat is the one, Mujima.
02:26
I'm going to try to take some swings against her
02:28
on my own ticket, but you know what?
02:30
If she wins, I'm going to be alive on this ticket with you,
02:33
right, because we're using her here, because you like her.
02:36
I do like Mujima.
02:37
You know, like you said, heavy morning line favorite,
02:39
rightfully so.
02:40
This filly's undefeated in three starts,
02:42
each time with added distance and improving speed figures.
02:45
The most recent one was the grade two Demoiselle
02:47
at Aqueduct in December.
02:49
So, you know, she's fresh,
02:50
and trainer Brad Cox is great at bringing them back
02:53
off a layoff with a 24% win rate.
02:55
He wins 29% of the time in graded stakes races.
02:58
I think Mujima's definitely the one to beat,
03:01
but you're not getting great odds.
03:02
We'll also use the six, take charge my lady,
03:05
who's four and a half to one,
03:06
is on a winning streak at Oak Lawn
03:08
with two wins this year already over the course.
03:11
That last out was in a stakes race
03:12
where she won by over five lengths
03:13
with an impressive speed figure.
03:15
So to be fair, there were only five horses
03:17
in the field that day, but still dueled
03:19
and passed horses for a driving win.
03:21
Other horses that we have on the ticket,
03:23
two Necessity, a really interesting long shot.
03:27
Both the two and the three are 20 to one
03:28
on the morning line.
03:29
We have them both on our ticket
03:31
because they've both shown really nice progression.
03:34
And I'm very interested in the type of trip
03:36
they could sit in this race,
03:37
where they won't be right on the lead,
03:39
but they should be in that next tier,
03:41
right behind the leaders,
03:42
and maybe getting the jump on some of the deeper closers.
03:45
So I think the race could really set up very well for them.
03:48
The two Necessity, the three Jenkin,
03:50
and then towards the outside, I think is a wild card,
03:53
5G, hopefully we're cashing this ticket for 5Gs, Alexa.
03:57
This one was really impressive,
03:59
going a mile on the dirt last time out.
04:01
So we'll spread out in that race,
04:03
a race that a lot of people might just single in on Muhima.
04:06
We'll be looking for a price
04:07
and looking for a little bit of value.
04:09
As we move to race number 10, this is the Razorback.
04:12
This is a race for some of the older horses.
04:14
So maybe some familiar names,
04:16
some horses who you may have seen or heard
04:18
over the last couple of years in big graded stakes races.
04:21
Start us off here, Alexa,
04:23
who are we gonna be using on the ticket?
04:25
Yeah, First Mission is one of those at 5-1 odds.
04:27
Taking a bit of a step back, maybe in a grade three,
04:30
spent most of last year running in grade one
04:32
and grade two races.
04:33
Most exciting and impressive race to date
04:35
was when we won the grade two Alishiva at Churchill last May
04:38
on the Oaks undercard, but has been off since August,
04:41
but has multiple bullet workouts in preparation for today
04:45
and Trina Bragg Cox wins 37% of the time
04:49
when his horses are coming back
04:50
after an over six month layoff.
04:52
So he really knows how to have them tightened up
04:55
and ready to perform after their breaks.
04:57
And we'll also use the eight baddest good boy.
05:01
Love that name.
05:02
At four and a half to one,
05:03
the most lightly raced horse in the field
05:05
with only two starts.
05:07
A late bloomer who really didn't begin his career
05:09
until the last week of his three-year-old year
05:11
this past December, but he really came out firing.
05:15
Not undefeated at two starts
05:17
with seriously fast speed figures.
05:19
He's got early speed and should also be able
05:22
to stock the pace a little bit and grind them down.
05:24
Kind of sounds like what they would call a horse
05:26
for like a nickname at the barn, right?
05:27
He's the baddest good boy out there in the morning.
05:30
He's just a bad good boy.
05:32
He's a major player in there.
05:33
The one that's a price that we're also gonna throw in
05:36
is the six full screen.
05:37
What I like about him, he's the type of horse,
05:39
he's a little inconsistent, but his ceiling is really high.
05:42
So that's why he's gonna offer you value.
05:44
He can jump up and be capable of a very, very big effort.
05:49
Full screen is in the mix.
05:50
We'll go three, six, and eight.
05:52
And then why don't you recap who we're going to be using
05:55
in the Rebel, which is race number 11.
05:57
Yep, we'll use the one Cole Battle,
05:59
that likely overlooked long shot.
06:02
Sandman, the closer, the I love,
06:04
and Speed King, the speedster who may wire the field.
06:07
So three deep there, one, three, and 11.
06:09
Hopefully we're four for four,
06:10
moving to race number 12 at Oak Lawn.
06:13
This is an Arkansas bred, made in special way race.
06:15
We're just gonna go too deep in here
06:17
to try to close things out, right, Alexa?
06:19
Yep, we'll use the two.
06:20
Mayer at four to one is a first time starter
06:22
for trainer Ron Maquette,
06:23
who's been training really well at Oak Lawn
06:25
with some fast workouts.
06:26
Yeah, you get a live jockey, Flavian Pratt,
06:28
to jump aboard.
06:29
And then the nine, Tiz Marcus.
06:31
His debut race was really good.
06:33
He finished third,
06:34
and I think he can build off of that race.
06:36
So two and nine to close things out.
06:39
We can take a look at the pick five ticket.
06:41
I believe it's a $90 play altogether.
06:43
We don't have any singles in the sequence,
06:45
and where we might be a little different
06:47
than I think the betting public is in race number nine,
06:50
where a lot of people might just single the one.
06:53
We have opportunities for prices,
06:54
and sometimes you wanna zig
06:56
when everybody else wants to zag.
06:58
Any final thoughts on the ticket before we go to break?
07:00
No final thoughts.
07:01
Just make sure to scan the QR code
07:03
on the bottom of your screen.
07:04
You can get a free card for everything
07:05
that we've been looking at here.
07:07
So scan the QR code and use code DRFSGPPS.
