00:00Listen, we talked about how you were very upfront about how you think that this is going to be a
00:05demolition, how this is going to be like a showing of Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams finally clicking fully.
00:13And my God, did they put on a performance?
00:15Now, they did give up 37 points to the Panthers, but 59 on the board for the Bears.
00:21Let me read off Caleb's stat line first and some of these other guys.
00:24Caleb was 21 of 29, 269 passing yards.
00:28You're not going to say, oh, that's not that much.
00:30Two passing TDs, 65 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns.
00:34They put up 552 yards with almost 300 on the ground.
00:40John, elite stuff.
00:43I just want to say this.
00:45The Carolina Panthers are a professional football team.
00:48Okay?
00:49So you can say, oh, it was the Panthers.
00:53Yeah, it was.
00:55They're going to do that to a couple more teams this year.
00:57Because if defensively you ain't got your ducks in a row, if you're not the Houston Texans or if you're
01:03not what I think the Rams or where Rams will be or what the Seahawks are, if you're not one
01:08of those, you might get rolled up like this.
01:10This is what the Lions were doing to people when Ben Johnson was the offensive coordinator.
01:16This is what they were.
01:17They were putting 50s on people.
01:2150s.
01:2150s.
01:21And so to see this again in a Bears uniform for a person who's been watching the Chicago Bears my
01:27entire adult football sporting life, I'm blown away.
01:3359 in an opener.
01:35And it wasn't like, oh, you had a couple defensive touchdowns and a couple special or a special team's touchdown
01:40or some of this was flukes.
01:42Nah, buddy.
01:43This was meat and potatoes offense.
01:45This was running a ball.
01:46This was route tree.
01:48This was passing.
01:49The second touchdown, the cold commit that he threw, was a perfect ball.
01:55A perfect ball in the corner of the end zone in between two guys.
02:00The throws he was making are unlike last year when they would get behind because he would just miss easy
02:06throws.
02:07Those easy throws, he didn't make them.
02:09He didn't attempt them because he was throwing to the check down man.
02:12And the check down man was eating big time.
02:14And this offense, if this is what I think it's going to look like, and I think it is, there's
02:20going to be a couple more 50s this year.
02:22Because that was impressive, man.
02:24That was impressive.
02:25Like you said, this wasn't, you know, like they were playing like the Dolphins or the Raiders or something.

02:32The Panthers made the playoff.
02:33They almost beat the Rams in the playoffs.
02:36I keep echoing that because they are a good football team.
02:38And made additions and made financial commitment to the defensive side of the ball.
02:44And those players, by the way, were active in that game.
02:47They were making plays.
02:48But the Bears offense was just, it was just firing on all cylinders.
02:53DeAndre Swift, three touchdowns, 124 rushing yards.
02:58Kyle Monungay, 100 rushing yards with a touchdown.
03:01John, how about our guy, Colston Loveland?
03:05Donut.
03:06What happened there?
03:08It's like everybody, we're going to feed everybody.
03:11And the one person that fantasy owners are like, I can't wait to see this guy in action.
03:16And they gave him nothing.
03:18If you took Colston Loveland as your number one fantasy tight end, you might want to go back to the
03:24drawing board.
03:25Because if you watch that offense today, everybody was getting catches.
03:29If you got Roma Dunze in your fantasy league, you might as well trade him today, buddy.
03:35You might as well put him on the block right now as we speak.
03:38Because the way that this offense is going to move and what makes it so dangerous is anybody can get
03:44the ball at any point in time.
03:46Cole Comet catching that touchdown was just, it was a route in the offense.
03:50And again, this is what I thought would make the Mike McDaniel, Justin Herbert offense so good, regardless of what
03:56they have at the wide receiver position, is that when you can make every throw in the offense, every route
04:02has a potential to be open.
04:03And so wherever the weak spot is, if the quarterback can find it, they can make the throw.
04:09And that's what this Ben Johnson offense looked like today.
04:12Every route that could be hit was hit where the weak spot was.
04:17And it was unbelievable, man.
04:20It was unbelievable.
04:22Are you concerned at all about the defense?
04:24Because they did give up 37 points.
04:26They did give, like, Bryce Young threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns.
04:31And you didn't even get much from Ted McMillan today.
04:33Right.
04:34That defense.
04:35Jayden Coker went off.
04:36I mean, he was awesome.
04:37Jayden Coker was great.
04:38Yeah.
04:38That defense is awful.
04:40It is awful.
04:44It's awful.
04:45So they're going to have to score 30 points a game.
04:49They're going to have to because that defense can't stop anyone.
04:53They had an interception, but that interception was more toward halftime, and it was a bad throw by Bryce Young.
05:00And the quarterback just made a good – the quarterback made a good play.
05:03But I'm not expecting anything out of their defense.
05:07And their secondary is banged up as it is, too.
05:09Kobe Bryant's out for a while.
05:11And Kyler Gordon is – their nickel corner's not there.
05:14And they looked every bit of lost.
05:17Every bit of lost out there, man.
