Trinidad and Tobago's new senior men's coach Rayad Emrit is confident his team can shine in the second round of the Regional Four-Day competition starting on Wednesday 5th February, with hosts Windward Islands Volcanoes being the opponent.

At the same time, Emrit does not want his players to become over-confident going into the day/night fixture.

He was speaking to TV6 via phone from St. Vincent.

00:00Trinidad and Tobago's cricketers are in St. Vincent for the second round of the
00:04regional 4D competition. The game starts Wednesday and is a day-night affair with
00:08the use of the pink ball. Such was also the case for game one in which Team Red
00:12Force defeated CCC in Cheruba. TNT coach Riyad Emrith is pleased with the
00:16preparations going into game two. The West Indies players joining the team I
00:20think it brings a lot of stability and a lot of experience into the squad so I
00:27think they're pretty much ready and you know the good thing is we have 13 fit
00:33players it's going to be very difficult 11 to choose for the for the second
00:40game against Wynwood Islands. In 2024 TNT got the better of the Wynwoods at
00:46the Queens Park Oval but it's a different year with the Wynwoods being
00:50the hosts. So how confident are the TNT players heading into the match in
00:54honest wheel? I think the players are very confident you know we coming off a
01:01good victory against CCC. Wynwood Islands they have lost against Jamaica in the
01:07first round as well so I think you know we were pretty confident heading into
01:12this game. Emrith does not want his players to rest on their laurels
01:15following the big win against the combined campuses and colleges. Despite
01:19the recent loss for the Wynwoods the coach is not taking his opponents for
01:23granted. We don't want to be too overconfident we don't want to be too
01:29complacent but having said that you know having confidence is always a good thing
01:34it's just for us to continue to play good cricket we can improve from the
01:40last game we have as I said before four quality players coming in so hopefully
01:45they can bring their experience to the team and you know we can build the good
01:52from the good start that we had in the first game and go from strength to
01:56strength. Following the opening round TNT are second on the table with defending
02:00champions Guyana Harpy Eagles at the top. As far as the Wynwoods are concerned
02:04they are sixth on the A-team table.
