00:00Trinidad and Tobago made a poor start to the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which saw the red,
00:05white and black being dropped 5-0 by the USA. Despite the loss, TNT player Tyree Spicer
00:11believes there were some positives in the match against the Americans.
00:15You know, first half wasn't the best. I think we set ourselves back by being a little bit
00:21defensive, but I think second half we showed that we could play, we have the ability, we
00:27have the players to play forward, going forward, we have threats on the wings, we have good
00:31defenders, but I just think we just need to be more confident. We have to believe that
00:36we could beat that team.
00:37TNT next played the Haitians on Thursday evening with a clash taking place in Texas. And how
00:43confident is Spicer about his team's chances?
00:45We didn't, you know, show our best, but we're definitely going to show our best in the next
00:49two games against Saudi and Haiti. Haiti got to watch out because we're coming for them
00:54right now. For the final round of World Cup qualifiers, TNT are grouped alongside Bermuda,
00:59Curaçao and Jamaica. Spicer says the Twin Island country cannot take any opponent lightly.
01:05They are good teams, you know, especially Jamaica. Bermuda is a good team, Curaçao is a good team.
01:09They show and like, they prove that they can play football, you know, they play Haiti and they
01:14won, you know. I just think we just can't go out there and they're just not going to give us,
01:17give us the win, you know. We have to fight for it. We have to match their intensity first.
01:23Yeah, I think it's now a power group and I think we've got a little lucky for that,
01:28but we still have to go out there ten toes down, like fighting for everything we have.
01:33For now though, Spicer says the aim is to qualify for the next stage of the CONCACAF
01:37Gold Cup. They don't know what they want to have export.
