00:04opening test against Pakistan in Multan starting on Friday.
00:07The Caribbean side is at the bottom of the WTC table with Pakistan one above in 8th position.
00:13As such, Brathwaite and his teammates are focused on ending this cycle on a high.
00:17Yeah, I think this series is very important for us.
00:19Obviously, two test matches left in this cycle and it's a new year, so any day you want to
00:25start the year strong and it's important we finish this cycle strong. That is our focus.
00:32With Pakistan playing at home, conditions are expected to favour them.
00:36As such, there are those who wonder if Brathwaite and
00:38company can deal with the opposition's pace and spin attack.
00:41Yeah, I'm fully confident in this team to face any boys around the world.
00:47It starts with faith. I think what I've been preaching to the batsmen, just believe.
00:51Believe and be brave and fully confident that the guys,
00:55for sure everyone here can do well against any team in the world.
00:59Pakistani batter Babar Azam regained his form in South Africa,
01:03with captain Sean Massoud also batting well.
01:05As such, which batsman's wicket is most important for the West Indies?
01:09I think all 11 guys, because you've got to get 20 wickets to win a test match.
01:14We've got to get all 11 guys up, all 10 wickets. That's our focus.
01:18With the test starting in a few hours,
01:20Brathwaite has already indicated which players are not featuring in the match.
01:24Yeah, we have a 12-man squad, so I'll just give the guys that are out.
01:30Kimar Roach, he's at FINA well, so he's out for this game.
01:35Joshua Da Silva, he's out as well. And Anderson Phillips, he's out.
01:41We have a 12-man squad and obviously tomorrow we'll make the decision on the final 11.
01:45The West Indies are hoping to get their second series win in Pakistan,
01:49having only done so in 1980-81.
