The West Indies will kick off their tour of Pakistan with a three-day warmup match starting on Friday 10th January.

The Caribbean men are using the warm up to get used to conditions against the Pakistan Shaheens A team.

Batting coach Jimmy Adams believes that success starts with Friday's warmup.

00:00The West Indies were given a warm welcome on arrival in Pakistan ahead of their two-match
00:05Test Series.
00:06And though the series conks for little academically in context of the World Test Championship,
00:11with both Dormant Giants currently occupying the bottom two spots on the nine-team table,
00:16they are still targets for the Caribbean men.
00:18One of them is to secure their first Test victory in Pakistan in 35 years.
00:23The first task, though, is getting acclimated to conditions starting with a three-day warm-up
00:28match tomorrow against the Pakistan Shaheens.
00:31And batting coach Jimmy Adams sees the warm-up match as a vital step ahead of the series
00:36opener.
00:37Tomorrow, just obviously just a warm-up game, but a lot is still going to be on it in terms
00:41of getting preparations right.
00:42Yeah, I wouldn't say just, I wouldn't use the word just.
00:45It's a very important part of the build-up.
00:47It'll give us middle time against quality opposition and quality time in the middle
00:51is what we need going into that first Test match.
00:53So hopefully we make use of the team that we're playing against and the surface that
00:57they've prepared here for us.
00:59The former player and director said the focus for the Windies is to master the basics.
01:04In terms of our team focus, it's more just making sure that we have the basics covered.
01:10The plan generally is to make sure that we can do basics for longer than any team that
01:15we play against.
01:16And therefore, they're making sure that after a long flight, a couple of days of rest, that
01:20they really focus on getting the basics put to bed and be ready to execute those basics
01:24come tomorrow.
01:25The three-day warm-up match against the Pakistan Shaheen's bowls off from 12.30pm TNT time
01:31in Islamabad.
