00:00Well, we start with Ayoka, and that's because Alec Atanis felt one run short of a century
00:18as the West Indies closed Day 1 on 273 for 7 in their tour match against Pakistan A in
00:24Royal Pindi.
00:26Well, the West Indies won the tour and chose to bat with captain Craig Brathwaite and fellow
00:30opener Mikael Louie getting 34 each.
00:33At the wicket though is Amir Django who's still there on 29 while fellow Trinidadian
00:38Joshua De Silva is unbeaten on 11.
00:41Leg break bowler Mohamed Ramiz Jr. has taken three wickets.
00:46Two days remain in the three-day game with the first test starting on January 17th.
00:53And it was as close as it could get as batsman Alec Atanis admitted to disappointment at
00:58missing out on triple figures.
01:02What was your reception of the wicket and how did the surface play?
01:06I mean obviously it was a slow wicket, it had much grass on it at first but the ball
01:11did a bit which was a bit surprising, it did a bit for the pacers but it spun a lot so
01:17all in all I mean it suited my game a bit because I play spin very well, I sweep, I
01:23sweep and stuff but I mean I would have loved 100.
01:28Yeah 13 fours and a six, just looking back at the innings how did you build that innings
01:35from start to where you got out?
01:37I mean it was slow at first because I came in when it was approaching our break so I
01:42was just you know trying to assess and see what was going on, I mean we had a couple
01:45net sessions but it's still timing in the middle is still valuable so I mean it started
01:50off slow and then you know I kicked off right after the break and then you know things started
01:54flowing on.
01:55And 273 for seven at the end of the day's play, I don't think score really matters but
02:01time, what has been the reception of other players in terms of what they encountered
02:07on the surface?
02:08I mean it was good to see you know that we actually got a chance to stay out in the wicket,
02:15not just trying to survive but also trying to score and you know it was good to see us
02:19finding ways to score in conditions that were so difficult for scoring.
02:23You know and playing the spinners, they were very good spinners and playing them and actually
02:28picking off and scoring runs and things, that was the biggest point for us today.
