00:00Wells Services Petroleum Company Limited says, after an extensive and thorough effort in
00:05collaboration with Heritage Petroleum Company Limited, the difficult decision to transition
00:11from search and rescue operations to a search and recovery phase was made.
00:17In a release this afternoon, Wells Services explained that given the length of time that
00:21has passed and the challenging maritime conditions, they regretfully determined that the possibility
00:27of survival may be unlikely at this time.
00:31For Pete Phillips' wife, however, hope is still alive.
00:34It's been a good like five days, do you support that decision to just start looking to retrieve
00:41his body?
00:42I would say no, but reality.
00:45Do you still have hopes that they would find him alive?
00:49Well, I hope so.
00:52They're just coming in.
00:54It's almost the same thing over and over.
00:58They're looking, they're continuing to look.
01:00Mrs. Phillips and relatives were invited to a meeting with Wells Services and other authorities
01:06today, where they were given the latest update.
01:09How did they explain it to you?
01:11They just let us know that they're not looking for, they're looking for a body.
01:16They wouldn't really want that, but you would prefer that over having no closure?
01:21Yeah, it's better.
01:23At least it will give you some kind of peace of mind to really know this happened and the
01:30body recovered.
01:32And you ain't get nothing at all, I'm just searching.
01:35Pete Phillips is the only person who remains unaccounted for after the partial collapse
01:40of Wells Services Reg 110 around 3 a.m. on December 2nd.
01:45One other person was injured in the incident.
01:48Did they talk to you all about any kind of compensation or anything?
01:52Well, so far the HR has called and I'm keeping in touch and see if I can purchase anything.
01:59If I need anything, just call.
02:01That is it so far.
02:03Candace and Pete are expecting their fifth child.
02:07You might want to name him after his dad.
02:09Oh, you can re-sign, yeah.
02:11I will sign that after today.
02:13A release from the Ministry of Energy says international experts are due to arrive today
02:18to assist in assessing and advising on the continuing operations.
