00:00At this time, Komal Maharaj is said to be assisting police with the investigation into
00:05his own disappearance, after he was found alive on Saturday night in the Cedras area.
00:11In a statement last night, relatives said he was dehydrated but in good spirits, adding
00:16that they will have more to say at a later date.
00:19But with more questions and answers surrounding his disappearance, TV6 News attempted to get
00:24clarity from the Hunter Search and Rescue team, led by Shamsuddin Ayub.
00:30Are you able to say whether a ransom was paid or something of that nature?
00:35According to our knowledge, no, we did not receive anything of ransom, we can be wrong.
00:41But according to our knowledge, no, there's no ransom because he returned free, right?
00:47Freely, he come home.
00:49Ayub says about six days following Mr Maharaj's disappearance, the Hunter Search and Rescue
00:54team made contact with him on his cell phone while he was in Venezuela, and certain discussions
00:59were had.
01:25And while many initially feared that Mr Maharaj may have been kidnapped, Ayub does not believe
01:30that that was the case.
01:55Meantime, the team is reporting in the range of 200 missing persons for the year thus far,
02:00with roughly 35 persons unaccounted for since 2023.
02:24And the list go on and on.
02:52So presently, the outstanding person from last year to this year is approximately, let
02:57me say about 35 to 33.
03:00And the person still outstanding is missing, you know, so we are out there looking for
03:05them.
03:06We will not give up until we find them.
