00:00At 3.09am on Sunday, December 22nd, something happened here aboard Wealth Services Rig 110
00:10as personnel were engaged in drilling activities.
00:13According to a statement from the South Urupuch based drilling company, the incident, which
00:18it gave no details on, left one person injured and another man, up until news time, remained
00:25missing at sea.
00:27The 47-year-old Larrow, Maine father of five, Pete Phillip, was one of 75 people on board
00:33the rig working at the time of the incident.
00:36Multiple social media videos of Rig 110 show it tilted to one side with a section of the
00:42rig collapsed into the sea.
00:45The company says apart from the missing man and the injured worker, who is now in a stable
00:49condition receiving medical care, all other personnel were safely evacuated from the rig.
00:56The company says search and rescue efforts have been ongoing and they say Wealth Services
01:01officials have been in communication with the family of the missing employee, providing
01:06all necessary support and assistance during this period of uncertainty.
01:12When the express went to Point 14 on Sunday, they joined members of the Hunter Search and
01:16Rescue team led by Valence Rambratt as they attempted to mount their own search hoping
01:22to assist with rescue efforts.
01:24We saw the damage for the rig and there were patrols around the area and we were cautioned
01:33to stay away from the immediate circle around the rig simply because there was some diving
01:40taking place.
01:41We were unable to see the diving and what we did was we kept circling and concentrated
01:47circles around the site trying to do some sea patrols to see if we could have spotted
01:53anything.
01:54And up till now we were unable to spot anything.
01:57During the day, social media posts suggested that Philip was found alive but trapped within
02:03the fallen structure and communicating with the rescue team.
02:07However, Wealth Services issued an update saying they are aware of several misleading
02:13statements circulating online which suggest the missing person has been located and is
02:19communicating with their rescue team.
02:21The company says these are false and search and rescue operations continue and they are
02:27committed to providing accurate and timely updates as the situation develops.
