Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has Told Tobagonians that he will challenge Central Government on the Tobago Autonomy issue. Speaking during the Tobago day awards on Wednesday night, Mr. Augustine said the THA is ready to take the fight for Tobago's autonomy to the international arena.  Elizabeth Williams has more in this report.

00:07in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
00:12the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
00:16and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
00:21Chief Secretary Fahli Agustin had a warning for central government on the Tobago autonomy issue.
00:28Let me be clear. Let me be palusily clear.
00:32You see, if this is your country, if this central government won't grant Tobogonians
00:38these fundamental rights, Tobogonians are prepared to go to the international community to get it.
00:45Mr Agustin is telling Tobogonians that the push for progress is now.
00:50Agustin spoke on Wednesday during the annual Tobago Day Awards.
00:55Any island, any people, any nation, no matter how small,
01:02should never be deprived of its right to seek the self-determination for such a long time.
01:09Tobogonians, this is the time for us to push for progress.
01:14This is the time when we cannot tire as we fight for legislative change
01:20that affects present and future generations.
01:24And it is not the sole struggle on our hands at the moment
01:30as we must also fight against criminal elements rising across this beautiful island.
