The top SEA student in Tobago this year comes from the Signal Hill Government Primary School.

00:00Three of the top five SCA students in Tobago emerged from the Signal Hill
00:05Government Primary School and according to their teacher Miss Wendy Gopal
00:11success has come as a result of dedication and hard work. Tobago's top
00:17five students are Seshali Duncan, Signal Hill Government Primary School, Kylie
00:22Charles, Signal Hill Government Primary School, Zaryu Iwing, St. Nicholas Primary
00:28School, Demarcus Walcott, Signal Hill Government Primary School, Janiah Waldron,
00:33Scarborough Roman Catholic Primary School. The top performing schools in order of
00:38merit are Signal Hill Government Primary School, Buku Government Primary School,
00:43Bethesda Government Primary School, St. Nicholas Primary School, Blackrock
00:47Government Primary School. According to the Division of Education these results are
00:52a testament of the hard work and commitment of the teaching staff, leadership
00:57teams and school communities that consistently strive to deliver quality
01:02education across Tobago. Wendy Gopal who taught three of the top five students
01:08said the process has been rewarding. Miss Gopal tell us your emotions I know you're
01:14ecstatic. Yes I am I'm really excited for my kids I'm grateful to God because God has
01:22given all of us the strength to go through with this process. It has been a tiring and frustrating
01:30process for the children because SIA is stressful but SIA has demonstrated dedication. She has a love
01:37and a joy for learning so it has been a joy to teach her and see the way that she lights up when she
01:43learns something new. Ms. Gopal said excellence was expected from her three students. Yes it was because she
01:51has been showing that determination from this time she's in my class in standard four she has
01:57demonstrated perseverance in everything yes and it's been consistent. She told us she remains proud
02:05as her secret to being a top teacher is her faith in God and as for her top three students. They all share
02:14the same characteristics. They have been so diligent in all of their preparations. I know that they're
02:21going to do extremely well in whatever they put their minds to. I am really really proud of them.
02:27What is the secret to being the top teacher in Tobago? There's no secret it's just hard work
